Welcome to Dreams! / My first ever LD!!!!!
July 15, 2002, 15:10:17
Thanks to all!!!!

I think that the excitement probably ruined it, but I can't see many people acting in any other fashion during a first time LD! Man the excitement sure has stuck with me. Do you think that calling for a guide or higher assistance could possibly help me during an LD? Has anyone tried that?

I have read all of the articles and am very impressed with the insights that were shared by Silver Birch. I take nothing at 100% face value either, but he seemed quite sincere. You have to remember that the last incarnation of him was a Native American, but he wouldn't mention who he was before that. Also he mentions that a lot of the information is to the best of his knowlage, not absolute fact. He was also learning to communicate with us, and I'm sure our language limits him severely. I feel that the few important messages he provided such as "service is the coin of the spirit" and from the bible "love thy neighbor as you love yourself" are the most important things human beings, as a whole, need to do to better this world, and make it easier on ourselves in the next. I think that many times throughout the articles the scientists/sitters were getting caught up and confused in semantics.

Frank- do you think that thouse being realize that they are caught in a loop, or do they have no idea? Is there help for them or are they just going to be like that for eternity?

Hi Patty- thanks for your imput. Your dream about the Dhali Llama and the clothes interests me. Maybe we're looking at it wrong when we say "bhuddism doesn't apply to what clothes we wear" -because it doesn't, but WE still take too much interest in what we wear everyday, although we say it doesn't matter. Does that make sense?

Thanks for the response Cainum!! I hadn't thought of it in that way, but that really makes a lot of sense! Cheers to you and thanks again!

Airplanes and suffocation I fear a lot. The airplanes due to the "lack of my control" aspect and suffocation because as the American Athsma Association says "When you can't breath, nothing else matters."

Hello Qui- I have indeed seen what I believe was an UFO.

Growing up my family often took vacations (holidays) up in nothern Vermont. If you haven't been to Vermont, the entire state consists of only pine trees and mountains, mixed with the occasional cow or 2. Now me growing up in the city of Boston, Vermont was a great escape from people, traffic and noise. Now one summer night while we were vacationing there, I went for a walk. I walked through a nearby school yard and took a seat on a bench. A few minutes went by and a stranger sat down next to me and we started talking for a while. I was admiring the thousands of stars that were visible in the vast countryside, when I saw what I first though was the lights of and airplane flying very high up. Now, you know that the higher up in the sky a plane is flying, the slower it seems to move from our view on the ground. From the lights on this "object", I could tell it was several thousand feet in the air, moving first just like a plane- steady in one direction. Just as I though "Oh- a plane" the direction changed sharply 90o, went straight that way for a bit, changed another 90o and was making a square path in the sky! I though I was nuts, so I ask the stranger I'm talking with if he sees it too. We look up and this thing is all over the place- going North, then East, North again, then South. He sees it too and is as dumbfounded as I am. After a few minutes it left quickly in one direction, and we didn't see it again. Whatever it was, it wasn't something that is in the general knowlage of society today.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Will my cat be OK?
May 08, 2002, 13:42:50
Thank you all for your kind words and insights. My beliefs are not those on the Cristian path, so I do believe that it is possible for him to be reincarnated, possibly as a person. Fernis is right about my emotions, it's just that society doesn't expect a 24 year old professional male to be all worked up about his cat passing. I do honestly believe that I will be able to see him again, and hold him like I once did. I just take happiness in knowing he had a great life, and recieved lots of love and caring from me and my family. Thanks again to all who replied- you kind words have eased me.

OK- I found some at a hippy shop and gave it a try. I hope noone thinks ill of me but I'm not one to back down from something that interests me. I did a LOT of research before hand and read several first hand accounts with Lady Salvia. I only took one bong hit, but I guess several are required to get the full OBE effect. It was quite scary to tell you the truth, not like anything I have tried before, and I've tried it ALL.

I haven't had a fully concious OBE yet, but from what I've learned about both OBE's and Salvia I bet are pretty close, though with Salvia you are NOT in control. I felt like I was being FORCED into a vibrational state immediately, and I've never felt vibrations before. From my heart a strong vibration pulsed into both of my arms down to my hands, and I felt like I was about to pass out. I lied down and felt myself drifting "out" sideways. Now all of this was without any control what-so-ever, I didn't think to have an OBE, I was actually doing all I could not too. This plus a lot of hynatic imagery was about the whole deal, had I taken more Salvia I would have blacked out and had an OBE. I don't think that I will try this again, it was too much out-of-my-own-control, and quite frightning. Well, live and learn!

If you were obviously moving out of his way, and he was obviously moving back into your way, well there's only one answer in my book: Should have crashed into him. Having scraped knees and a banged up bike would have deflated his need to point out your faults, and possible he wouldn't have felt such need for confrontation next time.

I dont' like to drink, but due to my age, friends, and location all there is to do here is "Party", so it makes it kinda tough. I go out and drink on the weekends, not usually during the week though. Maybe a glass of Merlot or 2 to relax me after work. I'm actually trying to get an apartment by myself so I can focus more on my spiritual work, time alone is what I need to break all of my bad habits, not peer influence. It's sad to have to say my friends aren't really good for me, but it's true.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Bald?
April 22, 2002, 16:18:13
I let my hair grow 1 week, sometimes 2 before cutting again with "clippers" is the word some was looking for earlier; i.e. "the machine".  The longer your hair grows the eaisier to get it shaved down again.

As for climate, I live in the south-western most point of the US, San Diego California, where it is summer-like weather all year round, perfect for the shaved head. Living in this part of the US definitly has it's perks as far as the female scene goes. Believe me when I say, your heads would spin.

Greetings fellow melonheads! I have been shaving my head since I graduated college 2 years ago. I find it to be much more "pure" if that makes any sense. I feel much cleaner, it's easy to keep up (no bed-head) and makes me feel liberated in a way. I don't know if it's really made me more receptive, but for a fact I was far less spiritually involved 2 years ago....

Welcome to Integral Philosophy! / Praying
April 15, 2002, 16:06:49
I do take time to pray, but for the most part I feel that my daily thoughts are prayers. If someone can hear me praying in my head then I'm sure they can hear me thinking too. When I do kneel to pray, I give thanks for what I have, and ask for protection for my loved ones and myself, as well as humanity as a whole. I would never pray for "more money" or anything of that nature.

Hello Jeni- this has happened to me my whole life and it's actually how I found out about the astral. I used to think that it was just my imagination but realized after some reading that it happens to a lot of people. I usually only see from my point of view, not 90o off like your were though. I believe that it is our etheric or energy body sight. I always decribe it as more like "sensing" than seeing, and sometimes I'll see stuff that's not physically there, like random furniture and stools with objects on them. By the way, I have not projected yet.

That happens to me sometimes as well. It's quite frightening at times. I'm not sure of the answer, but I don't think we would really stop breathing all the way. I just think it slows down so much and we're not noticing it, so once we notice it it scares us.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / First human clone!!??
April 11, 2002, 13:09:24
Ok I'm not to sure how much everyone knows about genetic engineering, but my mother works in this field and has explained to me why clones, will not work today with the knowlage avalible. When making a "clone" what is done is the DNA is removed from the cell to be cloned. It is inserted into the neuclus of the "blank cell". The blank cell reads the DNA and becomes the same as the donor cell. Now the problem is that the "blank cell" still has part of it's orginal genetic code left in the cell membrane. The DNA that was inserted still takes over and changes the cell to what the DNA reads, but with variations due to the orginal DNA still left over. I hope I explained this well, but this is the reason why there will be many genetic "defects" in cloned people/animals. The technology used, as advanced as it seems, isn't all the way there yet.

Fallenangel- I believe that everything we do, technically and spirtually, physically and mentally is part of our evolution. IMO we cannot evolve wrongly, and nothing can stop evolution. Evolution is change, and change is different. We can't really predict what aspect of evolution will be our next, until we get there and look back. Whatever we do is part of our evolution, regardless of how wrong or immoral it may seem.

Hello- I believe in perfect balance, but let me explian why. As somone mentioned earlier, why would you need to be "half-evil"? I see it as the world we live in now, society, government etc. has such a strong negative influence on all of us, regardingless of whether we realize it or not. To counter this, some of us take the spritual path. Now in general this path seems extremely posative, which it is, but the amount of positave energy this lifestyle raises is basically a couter measure for all the negativity that is already existing. So if the world was more of a positive place overall, the spirtual path would seem less positive, and more balanced. A perfect example of how life should be, is the yin-yang. It is posativity blended perfectly and equally with negativity, and in the center of each is it's own opposite. Male and female, dark and light, + and -.

Obviously smoking is not good for you, but I don't think that it hinders an AP in any way. After all, your only affecting your physical body right? I'm sure it would be better not to have all those chemicals in your body. Don't think I'm preaching to you about smoking, I am a victim myself.

Hey Dogface- that sounds like a dream, but you seemed to be lucid in it so that's something. Where you fully aware and capable of what you were doing? If it was a dream, you'll eventually figure out what it signifies. Do you keep adram journal? All of my dreams tell me a message, but I usually don't realize what is is until days or weeks later.
