I was unaware of Cybershaman 8. I got 7 from here http://www.dextroverse.org/spirituality.html I'm not sure where you would find it anywhere else.

You can try projecting in the morning after you wake up. Or you could try a very small amount of caffeine. As for binaural beats, I sometimes use I-Doser, though I find that the OBE tracks don't last long enough. There's a program called Cybershaman 7 which works amazingly. Set the preset to "Spiritual Awakening" and off you go. have fun.

So last night I had my first "experience" of consciously willing myself out of my body. This has happened to me a few times before, though it was spontaneous and when I wasn't trying. I suppose I wasn't expecting this to happen to me tonight either, but eh.

anyway, last night I drank an energy drink containing probably a lot of caffeine, so I took 3mg of melatonin to help me sleep. this felt like insomnia and sleep paralysis combined. My body was heavy yet my mind was clear. My mind was wide awake, and my body asleep. I was able to focus my awareness on any part of my body. after a while I could feel energy pulsating throughout my body and as I directed it to my left hand, my consciousness was sucked into it as the bed underneath me vanished and I found myself standing beside my bed, looking at myself laying in it, laughing.

I won't go into detail about my following experience, but i had a lucid-dream like experiences. I would wake up back in bed and did it all over again. this happened about 3 times. During the experiences I was just experimenting and such (i.e. picking up the phone and listening to the voices coming out of it, walking down the street having conversations with people, going into houses. just exploring, basically)

anyway, this was a very dream-like scenario.

I realize that a dream is an out of body experience with self-created hallucinations, keeping you from perceiving the "astral realm". Realizing this, I'm able to make my surroundings vanish, though that's about it. I can make scenery appear at will and such. I believe I read somewhere that to enter the astral from a dream you must first make everything vanish, so I did. I was now in a black abyss. at one point I tried to feel around whilst floating in the blackness and discovered some glass-like trinkets which felt very real. very smooth and sideways-teardrop-shaped. I was able to touch these objects, though I was unable to see anything. everything was black, but I could feel my astral body as I made "jogging-in-place" motions and did back flips and such. At an attempt to try to get my vision to work, I tried to take my astral hands and open my brow chakra by rubbing it or something, but my head was in the way. haha. (I hope this makes sense)

I suppose my questions are obvious:
how can I see the astral plane/ know the difference from a dream/ enhance clarity etc.

is there some sort of "third-eye energy work" I could do?

what does the astral plane look like? is it self-created?

... also I was thinking of perhaps going on the hunt to get some even stronger Galantimine product like Extra strong or something. Anyone know of any? thx.

There's a product called "Galantamind" that has twice as much of everything in Brilliant Dreams, minus the melatonin. I actually think it's cheaper too.

...The main thing is you are experiencing stuff. Remember about reality problems in the realtime zone, things fluctuate depending on you and your thinking at the time. I saw my cinema sound system at the end of the bed clearly, but with another dvd player on top i dont own, so theres no reason for that, but it was there during a flash.

The thing is, this has happened to me once before (see the "very strange" topic I started, in Astral Experiences). I've finally come to understand how a dream is separate from an OBE by reading up on Robert Peterson, who explains that when you dream, you're unconscious is on the astral plane, and what you're perceiving is a hallucination. Ultimately, dreaming is just your subconscious taking over. I figure that when I have these "false awakenings", I'm becoming aware of my astral body, but still seeing the hallucinated dream scenery. Just a theory.

Hmmm is is possible that you were really awake, but then at some point when you were walking around, kind of lost awareness, like sleep walking?

That's possible, but doesn't seem probable in my situation, as I've never sleep walked before. The entire time I was concious I was trying to prove that I wasn't awake (I was actually -trying- to make my hands melt. haha). I was quite suspicious. I continued on with a pretty vivid dream afterwards, though I was no longer lucid:

Dream:
After "walking down the stairs", I lost focus, as I began to accept my surroundings as physical, ultimately loosing my lucidity. I literally remember hallucinations beginning to appear around me as I began to loose consciousness until I ultimately fell prey to my own subconscious. Sometime after that I dreamed I was in my room, on the computer. Then someone came in and started watching a movie on the nearby television. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary (at the time), and everything seemed real. The only thing that seemed out of place was that there was a small radiator next to me. But as I realized this, and found it to be strange and out of place, this is when I awoke.

After reading Robert Peterson's material, I believe I could've been OOB, then lost focus, forcing dream scenery (hallucinations) to take over.

Though I'm not 100% sure, here's basically what I think happened:
-I became aware of my astral body (within a dream)
-Became lucid in my dream
-Tried to move my astral body (while still in a dream)
-Forcefully dispelled my dream scenery
-Became aware in the Astral
-Lost focus
-Returned to a dream

If this is the case, this would be my first conscious visit to RTZ astral plane

(also, an important thing to mention: at an attempt to induce vivid/lucid dreaming, I took 396mg of potassium, 100mg of 5-HTP, 470mg of Valerian, and 1mg of melatonin before going to sleep. yeah, that's probably a significant bit of information. haha)

I'm not exactly sure how to explain this. Last night I had a false awakening though in the back of my mind, I thought my physical body was moving while I was dreaming of the false awakening. I felt my physical body get out of bed, and fall to the floor, as I was dreaming of a false awakening (like I said, hard to explain). I began to wonder if I was in the transition stage of astral projection, from a dream. So as I felt my physical body, kneeling on the floor, I was conscious in a dream like state, surrounded by hallucinated scenery behind my closed eyelids. I tried to dispel the dream scenery to enter the astral realm (as I've heard that's how it's done). After consciously and willingly dispelling my dream scenery, I open my eyes to see that I'm actually on the floor. I stand up to do a reality check. I plug my nose, and I can no longer breath. I take a good look around me, and everything seems 100% real. I look at my hands. Nothing wrong with them, all five fingers, not melting, can't put them through eachother. I get up and look at my bed, I don't see myself on it. Though I was still not convinced I was awake. I walk down stairs and at some point, loose consciousness. I awake later in my bed (with the memory of a dream I had later on, after I had lost consciousness).

does this sound like astral projection? why would the reality checks have failed?

(I have been practicing astral projection for about two months now and have gotten no further than intense vibrations and dissociation.)

That makes a lot of sense. Thank's alot!  :-D

I'm having a little trouble understanding what your astral body's supposed to "feel like" while exiting. I've tried various techniques before but tonight I tried something different; my own "technique", if you will. At first, while trying the "rope" technique, I felt intense vibrations, as I usually do, followed by the usual ceasing of such. As I lay there in a somewhat deep trance, dissappointed, I decided to try a phasing method, imagining myself on one of those exercising stationary bicycles. I imagined myself pedaling to the rhythm of my breathing. After doing this for a few moments I felt energy sensations in the lower half of my body. I'm not sure what the astral body is supposed to feel like, but it felt as if my legs were made of nothing but pure energy, and that they were moving in synchronization to the motion of what I was imagining myself doing: pedaling an exercise bicycle. It didn't feel like my physical body pedaling, but as if some sort of energy, surrounding my legs, were pedaling. As usual, all sensation stopped at some point. Could this have been my "astral body"? My persistance leads to an increase, followed by a decrease in results. what could I do to go further?

Any response is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.  :-)

I was unable to sleep after waking up at 3am, so walked around, did some reading, and back to bed around 4.30am.  I was not planning on projection (been trying for weeks without luck)

My body went to sleep quite quickly, and I caught that crucial moment when the mind falls asleep along with the body. I kept it awake a bit longer and then opened my eyes.  Couldn't see much, so closed and opened them again.  Then I realised they were not my physical eyes!!!  I had opened my astral eyes, but they strangely felt exactly like my physical eyes.

Can anyone relate to this?  Any thoughts?

I can relate to this. This happened to me, the exact day as you. haha. well, the first part, at least. I never "got out", though. I was able to see behind my closed eyelids, though everything was pretty dark, i could see the shapes of everything. It was as if everything was just different shades of the black behind my closed eyelids. I felt my astral body sitting in an upright position. I passed out at some point.

a few weeks ago something very strange happened to me. let me start from before that. i had been trying to astral project for about a month prior to when this happened, sometimes using binaural beats to aid me. I felt the vibrations on my first attempt and practiced every night since then, never feeling vibrations as intense as on my first try. On one particular night, however, i felt very close to projecting. as i lay on my back, my consciousness felt as if i were positioned on my side, and that the top half of my body was pointing one way as the bottom half was in the other direction. i continued meditating until it felt like i was propelling at great velocity through a tunnel. i continued to keep my mind clear. eventually i got the very intense vibrations as i continued travelling through this tunnel. for some reason everything just slowed down. the vibrations got less intense, the sense of moving ceased, and i could soon feel my physical body again. somewhat disappointed, i decided to go to sleep. i had a few non-lucid, but long/strange dreams while asleep.

this is where things get weird.

i had, what i assumed to be, a false awakening. i awoke in my bed, wearing headphones, and could hear binaural beats. at first i had thought that i had fallen asleep with my headphones on until i realized that i hadn't been listening to binaural beats as of recent. i went to pick up my mp3 player and to my surprise, there was nothing in my hand. i could feel it in my hand, but i was holding nothing. i look in front of me and everything seemed 100% real/physical. but a little blurry (my vision is often blurry when i wake up). alright, so i look to my left, and this is the crazy part. I'm still seeing the same thing. i get up out of bed, try to stumble to the door, and the whole time I'm seeing the same thing. the same view i had while in bed, looking in front of me, seeing what i had seen when i went to check my invisible mp3 player. as i tried to open the door, i had a very intense head rush and passed out.

i woke up exhausted, sweating, and with a terrible headache, no headphones, on my back, in no unnatural position. i tried to find out what this could've been until i saw a topic on here by Selski on astral sight. i came across "Body Sight" and thought that might be what i had experienced. but could i really have projected through a non-lucid dream/false awakening? or was this just a strange, drug-like lucid dream? everything seemed/felt very real. even in retrospect.
