I would have to advise you to go purchase Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce. It will answer all of your questions. Either that or I think there are tutorials that you can go through on this website.

I am majoring in Psychology and hope to be a child psycholgoist some day. I have had OBE's and am very open minded about those issues. I have never actually been to a psychologist but my dad sees one on a regular basis and asked him about OBE's because i talk to him about my experiences. he said that many of his patients have experienced things like this but he doesnt know much about it. (and no he didnt send any pills home for me) [:P] Anyways, I have thought about how awesome it would be if a could score a job (later on after i have gone to grad school maybe) with a group of psychologists who will study metaphysical related issues on a higher level and maybe even start a school or something of the sort? i dont know just a dream i guess.

sounds like a little too much thinking for my taste, hypnotist. [:O]

i've never consciously projected but when they come spontaneously and i become aware of them i can consciously exit. i found the easiest exit technique for me is simply "rolling" out. i focus on actually rolling my double off of my bed. i think i may have read this in AD but i'm not sure.

Kevin spacey is by far my favorite actor. I love the weird charaters that he plays (well i might add). The shipping news is a wonderful movie. I saw it a while ago, before i was really into all this obe stuff so i dont remember the girl and her obes but i'll have to check it out.

i'm from ohio. i really wish that there were more people around this area that are into projection/metaphysical related issues so that i could talk in person about it with people who know what they are talking about instead of talking to people who have never even heard of such a thing.
#31
i guess i'm weird and i'm the only person that experiences this?! [V]

Looks interesting Laurel, make sure you edit that message and put an "i" in the word "movie" i had to figure out why the link wasnt working. [^]

Welcome to Astral Chat! / The 11:11 effect
June 24, 2003, 14:45:24
ok, this is something that has plauged me for the past like 2 months. i see 11:11 usually at least once a day (obviously no more than twice) i'm usually in the car but not always. It's so weird, i'll point it out to my girlfriend that i wasnt even trying to look what time it was, but my head just went right to the clock. there was a post not that long ago that someone had this theory that they found out about, it had something to do with when you were born and what your numbers were... mine was 11. i dont remember how it worked, if i can find it i'll post it on here.

another weird thing, last night i thought it happened to me because i looked at the clock that was on my digital tv reciever but it was actually 11:17, i just couldnt see the top of the 7, regardless, i didnt look at the clock with the intentions of seeing what time it was. it just happened.

thanks for the input Greytraveller. I really dont know which of the two it was either. I just found it interesting that two months earlier, i was inhaling the smokey cloud that was in front of my real time body and then the other night i was exhaling a cloud of smoke in my dream. and by the way, the insence was still burning when i woke up from the projection.

I definitely agree, that movie was amazing. It was also really really weird but in a good way. I felt like I was in another world and because of that, i wasnt able to stop watching it.

Welcome to Quantum Physics! / The Amygdala
June 16, 2003, 14:17:51
hrm... in Psychology, we learned that the Amygdala is responsible for FEAR only. I dont see how you can manipulate it on command. you become afraid spontaneously (well usually).

quote:
Whatever your beliefs or, none-beliefs, just be open-minded to what others have to say, or to what is shown to you.

... and if not open-minded at least tolerant, as i found myself being while reading about satanism. but anyhow, if you cant see the beauty in diversity, you will live a very sheltered life.

ahh i forgot about what dreams may come. excellent movie. i like movies that are visually stimulating like that.

Spills: I agree... what i was trying to stress is the fact that we are all completely ignorant when it comes to knowing what life there may be after death, who "rules" that life (for lack of a better term). It seems like everyone wants to jump the gun and say "you should believe (insert belief system here) and if you dont (insert consequence here)" It's a waste of time and energy to debate about something that our humanly minds will never be able to understand until we are no longer in our human form. with astral projection, we are able to come closer to understanding life after death. it PROVES the existance of the soul.
#42
Debates like these are hilarious to me. How can one single ignorant human being know the answer to this question.

First of all, I think that anyone is entitled to their own belief. No matter how far off the rocker most may think it is. We shall all see what lies before us when we die.

Personally, I believe in God. I guess I would consider myself an extremely open minded christian. Most chrisitans wouldnt even consider me a "christian" so maybe i'm not. i honestly dont care to even have a label. I am faithful, spiritual, kind, loving, caring and grateful that I am on this earth. I believe in many other philosophies that other religions follow. I believe that maybe we all have it right somehow. You could probably take pieces and parts of every religion and come up with the truth. Then again, we could all be completely wrong.

Just have faith in your beliefs and be a positive, loving, caring person. I dont know much about satanism but the whole self centeredness that i'm hearing about it definitely doesnt make it sound that positive of a belief system. Also I agree with many others in that, how can there be a satan but not a god? sounds to me like another idea that people follow for the shock factor. regardless, i dont care. not what i believe. go ahead and believe it.

It's funny that we humans try and answer questions like "Well if there is a god, why is there disease and horror on this earth?" Knowing that you will never obtain the answer to this question or other questions like it until you die or maybe even after that... what is the point of getting so worked up about them?

The absolute beauty in this world amazes me. How astounding it is to me that there are millions and millions of people all over the world each with a different physical appearance, set of beliefs, culture, background etc... THAT right there proves to me that something exisits beyond this human/human spirit form. There is an artist at work. Life is beautiful.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Jesus Christ
June 01, 2003, 11:27:23
hah. my dad said that when he was younger he had an EXTREMELY vivid dream and he was behind a man in a long white robe with long hair. he said he just felt that it was jesus.

I totally forgot about Dragonfly. I've seen it three times now, it's a great movie.

when i said raise the chicks and calves i actually meant perform the process from chick or calve to lunch meat. do everything and see if you really can handle it. i'm sure some people can and do all the time. i just know that i couldnt ever partake in that entire process therefore i dont partake in the last process whether i see the slaughtering actually happen or not.

- parmasan ranch patties by morning star are great with cheese and ranch dressing added on a bun mmmmm -

anyways, i read above someone is relating a tomato garden to a slaughterhouse.... last time i checked, tomatoes dont have feelings, senses or even a brain.

another thing i've been thinking about. i dont know if it's because i have become vegetarian or just my personal mentality about eating BUT, i've noticed that food is no longer such a HUGE part of my life. my father is somewhat overweight and it seems as if EVERYTHING revolves around the meal and what is he going to eat, eat this eat that. i have found that most people who are that obsessive about food are obese. i am probably underweight but that's just because i'm too lazy to work out. i've weighed the same for four years now. i feel good that food hasnt taken over my life. i eat two to three meals a day but i dont make it a HUGE deal when i do.

this debate could go on forever. vegetables now are basically just as bad to eat as meat if you look at it in the chemical department. they're covered with pesticides and other chemicals but i guess that's not the reason i dont eat meat. i guess the best bet is to grow your own garden. hrm. i'd like to see someone raise some chicks or baby calves just for the sole purpose of killing and eating them. it's like we just let it happen somewhere else so we dont see it and then eat it without thinking of the process that it went through to get on our plates.

I became a vegetarian the beginning of this year....

my reasons came basically from an issue of Adbusters (journal of the mental health environment)

this issue discussed the process of slaughtering animals etc...
it is NOT a clean and easy process....

"... by the time a broler cihcken is ready for the slaughterhouse, it is most likely too obese to lift its body off the ground (due to intensive weight-gain programs: no exercise and constant food, the latter laced with antibiotics and pesticides). the birds are far from healthy. after interviewing 84 government inspectors, one reporter wrote that every week, millions of chickens "leaking yellow pus, stained by green feces, contaminated by harmful bacteria, or marred by lung and heart infections, cancerous tumors, or skin conditionsare shipped for sale to consumers."

".... First though, they need to be killed. trucked to the slaugherhouse in crates, the chickens are removed and hung by their feet from metal shackles. next, they're dunked in a bath of electrified water meant to paralyze the birdes so they dont feel the mechanical knife that slits their throats. the dunk tank invariably misses birds, so some hit the knife white fully conscious. a handful more miss both the bath and the knife, and go alive to the next station, the scalding tank, where the bird is softened for defethering."

.... so with that in mind, i basically did it because i was disgusted as to how the chicks are prepared for shipping, killed as well as the condition some of them are in. i would go on to talk about other forms of meat but you can check out the adbusters issue number 44 NOV/DEC 2002 try ordering it on www.adbusters.org

i eat morning star products like it's my job... all soy based. taste just like chicken with more protein and less fat.

oh and another thing, when you eat meat and become "full" you have a sick like feeling in your stomach/throat... being a vegetarian and becoming full is a much more natural (less "sick") feeling. that was the first thing i noticed.

Welcome to Healing discussions! / Headaches
May 21, 2003, 21:51:14
weird. i've been having a different kind of headache for the past four to five months. mine are localized in the left side of my brain and it starts as a subtle pain and then shoots very fast to the back of my head. i cant stand it. the doctor told me it's just stress and tension and gave me medication for them. i guess that's understandable (parents divorce, numerous deaths in the family) anyways, it works but they always come back. i might just go see a neurologist.

i'm trying to get back to meditating every day. for relief from headaches using meditation, is there anything special i can do? (ie.. focus energy in a specific location?)

I have a friend that is really into drugs and their effects on the body/mind etc... (aka a smart drug user (if there is one it's him)) anyways, he grew his own salvia and claimed that he took about 5 hits out of a bong and it did nothing the first couple times (like pot actually) and then the real experiences came.

he said that the next two times he did it, he was in his garage and his moms car was in the garage the first time. he claimed that he "morphed" into the car and actually WAS the car, viewing the garage from the car's p.o.v. THAT freaked me out yet kept me interested.

he said that the next time he took it, the car was not in the garage and after about 5 hits on the bong again he experienced viewing what he described as "various planes of gravity"? he said that they were somewhat like grids and they started to move causing it to look like the floor was moving to the side wall and he was going to be upside down. so he was actually clawing against the concrete floor so he wouldnt fall. (he had a friend stay and monitor him) also, he said it only lasts for maybe 10 mins, which definitely sounds like a plus to me. and "coming down" is more like just coming back to reality and not a bad experience either.

i'd like to try it sometime but for good reasons. (not to just get f'ed up) anyways, there are tons of posts on this site about this drug, not many people have actually shared their experiences though.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / white dots in sky?
May 20, 2003, 22:51:43
ok....

i believe that the squiggly things that look somewhat like worms and follow where my eyes go are in fact bacteria. i have no question about that.

it's the "glittery" like white dots that for 1. all look the same basically (transparent (or white whatever) sparkling dots of light)and  2. do not follow the path of the movement of my eyes at all.

this leads me to believe that it is some form of energy that can be seen by the naked eye. but that also makes me wonder why everyone cant seem to see them?

seems like this topic is going around in circles... feel like i'm fighting with my girlfriend.

BAH!

p.s. no one said anything about the goose that i mentioned in the first post of this thread... that was pretty weird to me
