Hello noobies interested in Astral projection, and hello veteran travelers and others. Wrote this so  new people interested in projecting can get an idea of what they are in for with days research topics. as well as maybe there is something some of the more seasoned travelers have missed if there is something in here that helps you out as well then great! here we go :)
as it is 4am here excuse the typo's.

Some of you should really give this a shot. being out of body is pretty awesome.
and who knows, maybe you'll have a natural talent for it. others have to train weeks,
months, sometimes years to shift their consciousness. there are many different methods, any will work just
have to find out suited for you.

you can do anything when your out of body.

-meet up with deceased loved ones
-shapeshift
-go to other planets
-float around your place
-go to higher realms of existence / consciousness
-get in touch with who you are deep down
-or if you really wanted to could put yourself in your favorite show or game ;)
- Astral sex ;)

And it all feels as real as this world, or even more so at times.

The things you learn in the etheric or astral realm you will learn here as well.
for example you could practice the guitar. you wake up in the physical world and
you will remember everything you learned in the astral.

"what about demons and ghosts, omg your a witch burn you i say!!..."

Lol... for the most part that ^ is wrong by the way. it's not demonic. Shaman's do it. Monks do it. High level priests do it. etc.

How should i put it...
if you go out with your friends on the weekend do you expect there to be demons, or trouble where you are going? or whenever you leave your house? how many of those situations turned out to be that you were worried about nothing? quite a few i imagine.
stepping into the astral realm is like this. not what you see or heard from movies.
if you do still have fear The trick is to not be afraid and just accept it. take in head on. pass the test so to speak.
if you go about it right your more likely to be struck by lightning.

one of the hardest parts is actually separating from your body while in the hypnagogic state. (aka sleep paralysis)
auditory hallucinations, visual hallucinations. and just the act of leaving your body behind and what comes with the process can be off setting at first. but you have to just Give In.
you get use to it, accept it, and realize that's just how it is when you separate!

most exercises start with relaxation. as you monitor your body relaxing changes will begin to happen :)
the physical body feelings that i have encountered so far (these states are when your close to leaving your body, and when you are fully relaxed) :
- full body vibrating, starting off low, and then becoming pretty intense and high. high frequency.
- the feeling like i was a giant puddle of pudding. no body just pudding. it was awesome!
- motion sickness
- having no body at all
- being 10 feet tall
- like your laying in a ocean with big waves
- Continous falling
- sometimes some of your limbs come out sooner then the others, so you can feel your arm or
leg of your energy body / soul / w.e you want to call it start rising.
- floating
- the feeling of my arms and legs bending upside my head and twisting in ways that are physically impossible.

(no pain associated with any of these by the way)

Notice how in recent horror flicks astral projection was put in. and in the most common religion here it's bashed on.
millions and millions spent on these movies to deter you away from projection. from evolution. If you don't know yet hollywood is bs!

Lets put it this way. you go out on the weekend and you convince yourself
your going to have a bad time. then ya you probably will.

same goes for this. go into it expecting to have fun or w.e, and that's what it'll be.

the more skilled can split there consciousness among 3 separate entities created by them. so in a way you would 3 people
at once (recalling this as Robert Monroe the god father of astral projection split himself in 7 while each one was working on something
else. and yes when he woke up he had the knowledge of all 7 of his duplicate selfs! )

From my way of doing it, you may be different as I am learning people have their way of doing it, you do not have to feel or see the rope.    That is not a requirement.   You imagine you are climbing a rope.   It does not have to be a rope.   It could be anything.   You know when you are out of your body when you feel like you are moving, just like you are physically moving.   It feels very real.   It is a great feeling.   You may not be able to see very well but that does not matter.   All you have to do is say, I can see now.    About the time limit, do not rush it as the mind has to be relaxed.   There is plenty of time.   If you think you wrecked it, still try again.  Stay still and stay calm.   You may be surprised that it worked.    When you are doing a technique do not think about your body or your partner next to you.   Once time I was about to ap and I was thinking about my husband next to me.   That ended the ap.

Oh sorry i was calling you he instead of she. my bad lol
hmmm... if sight isn't paramount then infinite darkness it is!

rope climbing is a something I'm unfamiliar with so will probably go with a ladder instead...
there was this one exercise about climbing down rather then up. counting each rung as you go, and with each step you take it becomes more and more vivid and real. (guided meditation but could be done without it if you can convince your mind easily enough) imagining the feel of the steel, while periodically switching in some rusted bars to stimulate different textures and keep you focused.

as for the vision problems when out of body, found rubbing my eyes to be easier :)

I'm surprised you can Ap with someone laying next to you , good job.

For anyone else reading this wanting help with seperation found something that may be useful

Step Seven:

Dissociate yourself from the body. Monroe suggests two methods for this. One method is to lift out of the body. To do this, think about getting lighter and lighter after entering the vibrational state. Think about how nice it would be to float upward. Keep this thought in mind at all costs and let no extraneous thoughts interrupt it. An OBE will occur naturally at this point.

Sometimes I wonder if I just posted something like, "MY WAY IS THE ONLY WAY!!"... and only that... how many people would realize I was joking.  ROFL

I could see some astral noobs doing that
a lot of us have probably been there in the beggining. i was. got a book by robert monroe and followed it religiously. until finally getting a computer lol

and for the most part people should already understand "With ap there is no right or wrong.  There are people who think this is this way.   Someone else says no, it is that way.   Everyone thinks differently so that is why we experience things differently."
though i'm not sure how many times he has copy and pasted this already...
got a reply in another topic that was the exact same thing. he didn't read any of the topic just copy and pasted. to get "astral points" i guess?
glad he read this one enough to reply though

There should be no sensation of "numbness". There should be "nothing"!
i got this those few nights ago!!! *facepalm* should have tried rolling out. :(
good tip i'll be sure to remember this for the next attempt!

Climbing a rope should have worked.   There is a time limit to ap.   If you wait too long ap can end.    If you have tried everything and nothing works then you could force yourself out of your body.    When you felt your arms out of your body you could have moved them further out of your body until your whole self is out.   It is best to do it quickly.

a quick question about the rope method.
while climbing do you imagine yourself climbing through the roof, or...?
with this method i visualize then climb up but in 4-5 grabs im at the ceiling, but most awareness still in body :(
would it be better to imagine the ceiling as an infinite darkness with rope / infinite climbing until out?

and thanks that was a big help didn't know there was a  time limit. a lot of attempts i would be trying to do it slowly.

Hi there Trigger.  :)  Welcome aboard.

This is where I feel that most people are completely and utterly mislead...
Try Phasing... it's a different perspective on projection where you smoothly transition your consciousness from "here" (physical) to "there" (non-physical).
I'm firmly of the opinion that "separation" isn't required... nor possible, because you're not actually IN a body to begin with.  So how can you separate from something you're not in?
The entire key to projection is being able to ignore everything physical.  Being able to turn off the processing of all physical reality sensory input.
That's it really.  That's the key to projecting.

For the saliva problem... do you drink a lot of soda pop?  Coke?  Whatever?
If so... stop, it's the cause of it.  And actually, stop drinking all that sugary crap...  LoL  Just stick to water.
But apart from that... you simply stop focusing your attention towards it.  Any interruptions like that... like an itch, just slowly take care of it and go back to what you're doing.  You should be able to move slightly as long as you do it calmly and slowly and not break whatever state you're in.  There's no point in fighting something like that, because whatever you're fighting will *ALWAYS* win out.

Thanks for the welcome good to be here :)
I'll look up phasing tonight and see if it's any different from my current methods.

actually tried the OBE inducer timer last night... within a millisecond of hearing the voice rolled to the side violently and flopped. and well... my face hitting the floor says i wasn't out of body.  XD
auto programmed the roll out technique just a  little to fast forgot to leave room for actually laying still. LOL
"stay completly sti-----ROLL OUT" *Thud*

with turning off all / most of the physical input though how do you keep yourself aware, with a mildly stimulating task like breath counting?

as for drinking, 9 months sober now and don't drink pop. usually just water and juice.
but i do Vape electronic cigs (trying to cut back on smoking) which can leave you dehydrated at times.

And oh ok. so attend to it without focusing on it.
swallow spit without thinking of it as having an impact on the obe practices :) cool.

With ap there is no right or wrong.  There are people who think this is this way.   Someone else says no, it is that way.   Everyone thinks differently so that is why we experience things differently.  No one will think the same.  I am of the opinion that we do have an inner self.   I have got out of my body many times.   I have felt my body parts floating out of myself.   I do not ignore my physical body.   I have felt my body being different and I have ap many times.

everybody has different ways of what works for them ya.
but for someone who is having a hard time with it, it is nice to hear input from experienced knowledgeable people.
It's not like at this moment i can be like "Hey this works for me!!!" as i am not there yet.
and as i can stay strong in my belief's and be able to change them while putting my mind into the perfect mind set of fully believing in them, any method becomes worth a shot.any belief, becomes worth a try. until something clicks within and the projection is achieved.

what makes up beliefs?  evidence put together in your mind on what you see fit.
when dissecting it you can really change it to anything. as we are creatures of habit if you study that belief and focus your intent on it after a while that belief becomes your own, as if you had it your whole life.
i guess you can say it's similar to a song you hear on the radio. at first you may hate it, detest it. but after listening to it for a while you grow to love it!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for all the input guys! going to take some notes. was going to try to project tonight but looks like i have work tomorrow >.< next day off and it's another attempt!  :-D

Mugwort has proven to give me lucid dreams effortlessly.

it's active component is called Thujone which apparently can't be removed from the body once it is in ( even though it is small amounts it builds up.)
so i would advise against ingesting it.

i would rip up some mugwort, put it in a pouch, and keep it right by my pillow and just the odor of this can give you lucid dreams.

but has anyone here tried using it for astral projection? given my current low level of experience with this herb, it seems like it would help with spontaneous OBE's ...

Since weed can increase your focus to laser beam levels it may help with astral projection.
but this is a double edged sword as it may also increase your fears and paranoia.

as for alcohol in my experiences it's a bad idea overall.
your body is processing it turning it into sugar leaving little room for real relaxation.
you can wake up multiple times through the night with it but not in the way that is good for AP.

i'd say if you were to try projecting with one of the two go with weed.
#34
i know everybody will have different experiences, this is a place to share those experiences :)
so you've had some successful projections with it! good stuff :D
#35
To a large extent it depends on you.
in order for guided meditations to work well, you just have to give in and let that little voice playing in your head be yours.
let it be your will and go with the flow.

Imo, yes. there is increased focus.
you have to have intent to do so as well though. if you go into it being like "Oh this is bull it's not going to work!" then the most likely scenario is it won't, and you'll delete the file and probably will make the assumption that all the other guided meditations do the same.

deeper relaxation - o0o0o yeah :)
here's some effects i've felt from various guided meditations and hemi-sync / binaural beats.

Various effects through guided meditation / hypnosis -

1 - full body vibrating, starting off low, and then becoming pretty intense and high. high frequency.
2 - the feeling of my arms and legs bending upside my head and twisting in ways that are physically impossible.
3 - No longer having the feeling of a body, but a giant glob of pudding. that was probably the most comfortable one, o it was so awesome. like a relaxing ecstasy so to speak :) just felt so great.
4 - motion sickness. no feeling of any body, just motion sickness
5 - the feeling of being in a violent ocean ( large waves, as if you were just floating there. )
6 - Being 10 feet tall, while lying down in my bed (well... lying on it with legs hanging a few feet off of it)

Guided meditation is really all i could use at the moment, as well as hemi-sync binaural beats. live in a terrible apartment for noise.... every time a door opens i hear it. oh, the neighbors are talking? i can hear it. o hey a car drives by!! yippe i love how effing loud it is ! <3_<3 . jk of course. i hate it.
but a fan left on, or having ocean or rain nature sounds playing in the background lower then what you have on your headphones seem to help drowned out the sound.

You don't want to be disturbed while doing this.
your focus can become "what was that noise? oh no i broke my focus! but should i check on what that noise was? etc etc "

that's odd, i tried to project 2 nights ago and my tongue went numb as well. as if a doctor had froze it ...
maybe we listen to the same file. haha

Very informative.
Thanks!

Hi, i was wondering how successful / non-successful people have been with using hemi-sync or binaural beats.
share away :)

Hello, i'm new to this forum but not to astral projection.
i'll be as detailed as possible to hopefully get some help from veteran traveler's.

have had 3 out of body experiences in the past.
reached the following multiple times :
vibrational state, white noise, thunder, sound of a speeding train going by my head, numbness all over, arm(s) out, leg(s) out, the feeling of being a giant blob of pudding.

My question is how can i separate from my body once reaching these states?
(yes i have spent a few hours a day for a week looking this up. on here and elsewhere. i've seen the faq's and such.)

2 nights ago i was very very close but was afraid to try rolling out of my body or moving a limb as i thought it would be in the physical and ruin the work it took to get to this state.

Started off listening to a guided meditation hemi-sync, began relaxing.whole body became calm, and numb until i couldn't feel it anymore. at that point i worked with my energy body making it bigger. it felt like i was a 10 ft tall man in my bed.
from here (probably about an hour after starting the hemi-sync file) i started to get the feeling of motion sickness. and could feel my arms being out of body.
from there i began to visualize climbing a rope, ripping it up on a dirt bike going off of huge jumps, a giant magnet on my ceiling moving towards and away starting off slow and short to fast and long after a while. but nothing worked! so i then started imagining myself at the beach, somewhere away from my bedroom as perhaps that itself was a distraction? then boom. lights out. woke up the next morning with no obe.

Also how can you stop yourself from having to swallow saliva every5 - 10 minutes? XD i noticed it kept my head anchored while some of my energy body would be out :( and it is very, very frustrating =\

thanks, and i can include more details if needed!
-xTr1gger

p.s -  1 past experience has been from the reality check method and affirmations before going to sleep. ( suppose to be for lucid dreaming yet i awoke out of my body being pleasantly surprised. instead of am i dreaming? would say am i in the astral...? :) )
#39
Hey all!
I have been practicing astral projection on and off for about 10-12 years now.
unfortunately more off then on, but will have time to train harder soon !

successful OBE's - 3
preteen - went to another planet as our planet was being destroyed.
teen - floated around the upper floor of the place i was living in
young adult - went to hell... or i guess the lower realms would be a better way of putting it . got tortured and everything but i will not let one bad experience ruin such an amazing thing!! :)

Successful vibes/motion sickness/noises/etc - Lost count.

Nice to meet you all!

p.s. the descriptions of my obe's are brief as at the moment that would be A lot to type. plan on sharing them at a later date!
