a)
Found out about this place after reading AD. Didn't pay any special attention, since I didn't really like forums back then. After I started reading here regularly, I like how there are people from very different ages/background/experience. And they actually manage to get along...  [:P]

b)
I didn't post till a long while, mainly cos I didn't have anything to say or ask.
My first post was about deja vus.

c)
Felt somewhat anxious/restless the first few days since there weren't a lot of replies. Then eventually it ended up with a crapload of insightful responses.
I feel great.  [;)]

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Is Santa Claus real?
July 26, 2003, 04:29:24
It does sound possible that he could have manifested into existance from all the 'power' from kids.
But there's also a lot of opposing 'power' from lots of adults who are 'certain' that Santa doesn't exist.

Btw, if Santa really could've come into existance this way, so could all the monsters under your bed!!!  [:D]

Welcome to Astral Chat! / a beer?
July 26, 2003, 04:22:24
BEER? Ewwww......
Yeah, I don't like beer.

Coffee. Now there's my poison...  [:D][:D][:D]

(that's not me, by the way)

Oh yeah, I've heard of that NovaDreamer before. Crazy pricing though.

Hmm.....friends as a dreamsign, never thought of that before. Sounds like it'd be really effective!

Maybe your guides can (and does) converse with your subconcious or higher self (gaining knowledge about you that you are unaware of), and hence seem like they can read your mind...?  [8)]

Hmm...I wonder if there's anything that we can buy, that's like a watch or something that gives you a tiny pin-prick electric shock every now and then. Then you can ask yourself whether you're dreaming whenever you feel that on your hand. And of course you wear it when you sleep too...

I've tried using the 'hourly chime' on my watch for this purpose, but it turns out the beep-beep sound (from 10 feet away!!) is enough to wake me from my sleep...  [:P]Insert

Hmm...Interesting...  [8)]

beavis, yeah, derivatives ARE evil!  [:D]
#33
Yeah, thanks.

So far, I'm thinking it's an integrative view or philosophy, that overlooks cultural or religious boundaries?
#34
[:O]Insert Okay, I didn't understand all of that, but I have a pretty idea now I guess. Thanks for the reply!  [:D]

The point would be in the book. Why do you think nobody can know?

Hmm....well....
It's not like I think nobody can know. But even if that were the truth (in the book), I don't really want to get to that truth by reading it. Umm, I mean, I don't want the same truth as everyone else.
[:O]Insert Umm, okay, I'm not making any sense at all. I guess I should get some sleep. Maybe I'll think of a better reply.

Yes, that feeling you get is enough. As you work more on this, the feeling might get...hmm...more defined? Or at least easier to control.

Anyway, I use those same feelings for the different 'actions'.
I guess the different is just in your focus, breadth of the area you're working on, and direction/type of motion.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / God Thought
July 10, 2003, 17:54:07
Well, to be honest I didn't bother reading all that.
On the other hand, I did watch that cool episode.  [:D]

Anyway, I think the biggest thing I got out of it was what the binary computer god said (I even wrote it down in my diary!):

If you do too much, people become dependent.
If you don't do enough, people lose faith.
But if you do just enough, people won't be able to know for sure that you don't exist...

NEW works mainly by focusing and moving awareness around.

So I'm thinking, maybe this 'technique' works because when you will a body to move, but not let it move physically, you are as a result focusing heavy awareness onto that area, and hence increase the energy flow...

What'dya think?
#39
You should note that the 'sensation' you feel doesn't necessarily have to be a physical feeling. So it won't feel exactly the same as if your skin were really being rubbed. But you you should feel something...

I tend to focus and feel the sponging action/feeling within my body parts, not just on the skin. Although that might just be because of the way I do it...  [:P]

Well, my answer to your question is in my signature.

The reason I think that is probably because I currently don't buy into any organized religion stuff. If the purpose of my life (and everyone else's) is already in some book or something 'some guy' said, what's the point of living my life??
Anyway, since I can't OBE (yet [:P]), all I have right now are bits and pieces from here and there. But eventually I'll piece it all together.  [|)]

Nice analogy beavis!
Sooooo......what does the gas pedal represent?  [:D][:P]

Oh yeah, I can do that too!
It's the same as you described, the feeling is strongest around the heart area. Although I can 'summon' the feeling without doing the 'trying to move but not' thing.
I use this sometimes when I'm falling asleep in lecture...  [:D]

Although I've always wondered whether this is bad for your heart???

Yeah, I kinda get what you mean.
It's not actually reaching enlightenment that's all important, it's how you got there.  [|)]

Of course, not all are like that, this is only a sweeping generalisation from my limited observation. Could be related to brain and conciousness stuff.

I think that has much to do with the fact that biology relies heavily on the concept of evolution. Add that to the fact that physicians and biologists deal mostly with the physical aspects of 'life' (or lifeforms). So, basically, there's just no 'need' for the notion of spiritual existance.
Unless they naturally have some reason to believe otherwise...

Yay, I got 136 from the IQ test.  [:D]

Hmm...cool links, eh? Let me think.
Okay, go and watch this flash movie:
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view.php?id=67119
Warning, the site has adult banners. But the flash is totally awesome, and it's related to spirituality stuff!

Oh yeah, be sure NOT to read the *spoiler* part on that webpage before you watch the flash, cos it might ruin your experience. But definitely read it afterwards.
Please leave some comments about it here after you watch it, I'd like to know what you guys think. [|)]

Hehehe, are you sure you're not dreaming?  [:D]

I don't really think it's possible to just dream about having lucidity. I mean, if the dream involved you thinking/knowing that you're dreaming, then it must be at least a very low level of lucidity, right?

Oh yeah, that's a good point. [8)]

Hmm...I don't see 11:11 that often, although I do notice 3:14 a lot. But maybe that's just cause I really like pi.

pi = 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399
