About the false awakenings, I had a couple of wierd expiriences before after the first time I obe'd.  Twice I was waking up after a night of sleep abd I felt like I obe'd.  I was floating around my house for a couple minutes each time, but I figured out I wasn't really obeing b/c things were very different than in reality.  For example I thought I passed through the dog of my parents fried who we watch for them while they are away.  Another time I thought I was obeing around 10 (that's what my alarm clock said) but when I woke up it was 9:30. I thought these expiriences were kinda false awakenings.  Is this something similar to your false awakenings?

Yeah I've had problems like this before.  About two months ago I posted about dental pains while trying to project and a dentist replied and said that it was natural for a lot of people to grind their teeth at night.  A lot of times when I was trying to project, I would have wierd dreams that felt like my mouth was wired shut and whenever I tried to open it it felt like my teeth were going to get ripped out of my gums.  It freaked me out a first, but after awhile when I had these dreams I knew that vibrations would occur so I just let it happen and eventualy enjoyed those dreams.

Ciao e benvenuto Havok.  Ma mi sembra che scrivi inglese meglio che io scrivo italiano, cosi scivero in inglese.  I too am somewhat of a beginer, I have been trying to OBE for about two months, and I have already had a couple of OBE's.  The thing is that everyone is different, some people it takes less time, some it takes more and yes luck has something to do with it (the first time I did it I didn't think I was going to).  Also differnt positions wok for different people, you just have to find the one that suits you.  It sounds like you're getting close, the buzzing and bright lights are very common signs that you are about to leave your body.  The trick is to just relax completely and let it happen and soon you'll be able to leave.  That's the really hard part though.

Waking life is a great movie.  I have noticed the thing about controling the lights, it is kinda wierd, but the thing that almost always tips me off that I'm dreaming is a digital clock.  You can never read a digital clock when dreaming, the numbers always flash and wave.  The movie talked about that too, and portrayed it so well I almost thought I was dreaming.

Fat_Turkey, yeah I've seen Neon Genesis Evangelion (about 3 or 4 times all the way through).  It is definately one of the best anime's out there.  It starts of all right but then it keeps on getting deeper and crazier until it goes completely insane during the last episodes and the movies.  I highly recomend everyone to see the whole series, especially if you like anime.

First of all, congrats.  The first one is a wicked wierd experience (by the way, are you from MA?).  About wondering whether it was an obe or not, it probably was.  It seems that some people get only Vibrations, some get only buzzing while others get both.  It just depends on the person.

That is definately a wierd experience.  This week, I think something similar happened to me two day in a row.  I call it a False Awakened OBE because I had seperated during a false awakening (a false awkening is like a dream where you think that you are waking up and just starting your day). I've posted my experiences on this forum and OBE discussions forum under the title False Awakened OBE (both are different experiences).  When I was seperated I could have sworn it was real, but after I really woke up, I realized I had dreamed it all (in the FA, I had gotten up after the OBE and the time was much later than it really was).  It sounds like you might have had something similar, but I find that it usually only happens to me when I'm waking up from a night of sleep, when I wake from a nap I can almost always get the vibrations.  You are right, usually the vibrtions come about before you project, that's how you know you're about have an obe.  Hope I've been helpful, but don't let this experience discourage you, it sounds like you're getting close.  Good Luck!

Greytraveller, I could read my alarm clock just fine, which is a digital alarm clock, and from other dreams I had I know I can't read digital clocks (that's how I knew I could have a lucid dream).  That's the wierd thing b/c I couldn't identify it as a dream or False awakening, but it obviously was.  That's why I'm kinda confused.

I obviously wasn't in physical body because it was all happening during a false awakening, but the reason I though I was in my physical body was because I looked back at my bed and I wasn't there.  It was pretty mind blowing though, it left me really confused.

It isn't Astral Dynamics, but i's another book that is for free on-line.  It's not as comprehensive, but I'm sure it'll help you out.  http://www.robertpeterson.org/obebook.html Good Luck!

I'm only Sleeping off Revolver is one of my favorites and also Sun king/Mean Mr. Mustard/Polythene Pam/She came in through the bathroom window" from Abbey road (I consider it one song because they really can't be seperated like Brain Damage and Eclipse on DSOTM by Floyd).  Regaurding Floyd, I believe the full albums are the best way to because the songs usually flow into each other so well.
