Just a couple stray thoughts :-
- re: knowing the answer mentally - I don't have this happen myself, but my sister is quite talented at a similar divination method using ouija. Her usage is vastly different from typical group-ouija sessions in that the information is of very high quality, validated, and the planchette moves incredibly rapidly in her hands. I say this because she gets the answer in her head 19 times out of 20 to the questions we/she asks. Both pendulum and ouija are forms of HGA communication given in Franz Bardon's IIH, so I see the methods at least as valid, whether or not the individual communications each person gets are proven so. He mentions that people occassionally do receive the answers mentally while the physical is catching up - I assume this in itself is mental contact with the Higher Self at a peripheral level, and grows over time. Some people do away with boards/pendulums and can use this method alone, having entire mental conversations with their 'guardian angel'.

- re: the types of questions. Myself, I have asked personal questions on life issues, spiritual growth, and methods for ascent. I have also asked predictive questions, and would like to see these validated as a final confirmation of the authentic nature of the pendulum. I asked about a job offer for my mother, and will be able to validate the answer this week I guess. I also asked whether it was only the Higher Self that could communicate to me via the pendulum, or whether astral/mental beings could - the answer was only the Higher Self. However, one could always argue that self-affirming answers are not verifiable, and I do admit the possibility of other entities using it to communicate with me, so I think validation over time is the only sure method.

I made a simple pendulum with string and a quartz crystal, performed an improptu blessing and prayed for my Higher Self to reveal itself to me through it. It started responding as soon as I began using it. The length of the string is about 7 inches. I found the responses take from 5 to 10 seconds to start, and I know it is super-physical because the pendulum arc grows wider and wider (normally impossible when still) and I can feel the movement increasing. I make special effort to keep my fingers, hands and elbow perfectly still. At it's peak, the arc is about 1 inch from point to point. On the few times I shook, I asked the pendulum to be still and then give me the signal again. Midway through my first session, I asked for us to agree on a "maybe" signal - something to indicate either I was not supposed to know the answer or there was no clear yes/no available - perhaps the answer was contingent on something else, etc. It started circling instead of forward-backward or side-to-side - this is now our agreed maybe/unclear signal []

I asked questions that honoured my higher pursuits, and only asked one mundane question on behalf of a family member. I was impressed with the answers and will establish through real life application the integrity of it all. I have high hopes though, and my intuition tells me it is the valid. By the way, this method of HGA communication is given in Bardon, Step 4 (I think). Myself and other family members have been exposed to various forms of direct divination for a while, but I never had a complete method available before trying this. My girlfriend has tried the pendulum before without results. During my session, I felt energy movements throughout both hands...a good sign.

Although I don't claim to be anything more than an armchair enthusiast for physics, both new and old, I have a few theories on the double-slit experiment and MWI in general. I think there are several valid explanations based on quantum relativity and string theory. I just wanted to say that imho the distinction between (multiple) universes and (higher) dimensions became a little confused in this thread - various people interpreting the question in terms of either universes or dimensions. I think it is possible to explain double-slit and particle superposition via either theory, or a third one.

In Ouspensky's "Tertium Organum", a classic on metaphysics, he posits time as simply motion through higher dimensions. Think about that. The confusion of "time" as a fourth dimension always struck me as foolish - it is non-spatial. General relativity showed that the concept of time is simply space, and vice versa. Ouspensky added that time in any single dimension is the result of traversing space in a higher dimension. Not only is this a stunning insight, but explains so much of astral time travel (backwards and forwards) *and* offers another explanation of double-slit aside from MWI. What if, instead of assuming a "second universe" where a particle superimposes itself, we assumed that same particle simply travelled linearly through a 4th dimension, *manifesting* in 3 dimensions as multiple versions of itself in different locations but at a single instant in time. 3-dimensionally this appears like no time passing, but from the 4th dimension this may be perceived as a chronological movement of a single particle through multiple 4-th dimension coordinates. I haven't the mathematical (or even conceptual) depth to delve deeper, and I'm sure the theory would appear ludicrous to a theoretical physicist, but it does give the casual student pause.

String theorists model higher dimensions spatially as Calabi-Yau shapes (OK for conceptualising, but don't represent linear infinity of those dimensions). Depending on the specific Calabi-Yau shape, there are different numbers of higher dimensions. A particular model (String Type IV, I think) says there are 10 dimensions. This would agree with ancient metaphysics stating there are 7 higher "planes" apart from the physical (astral, mental, causal, buddhic, atmic, et al), ergo 3 physical dimensions and 7 non-physical (yet spatial) dimensions. Time in each of these dimensions may simply be a symptom of motion in a higher dimension. Therefore physical time is simply physical+astral motion occurring simulatenously. Astral time is simply astral+mental motion, etc. Yet from within the astral (consciously) physical time seems to be traversible both backwards and forwards simply because from that plane there is no *physical* motion involved, only astral+mental, hence astral time is disengaged from physical time - the timelines are not coincident. This may explain why when consciousness leaves the body during OBE, years can transpire astrally when only minutes transpire physically on return to the body, ie there has been no physical motion binding the timelines together. Of course, dimensions may or may not be fractional, so the various RTZ densities may all incur different time penalties, and so on up the astral and mental hierarchy. Personally, I have never believed in fractional spatial dimensions - it just doesn't make sense to move through the 3.517th dimension, for example.

As for multiple universes, this may be the case, or could they simply *appear* to be "multiple" when viewed from our 3 dimensions - that is, it seems like the different versions of 3d space exist at the same point in 3d time. What if the same 3d space exists in multiple 4d locations, and this reflects 3-dimensionally as multiple timelines? For example, if a 1d point moves through a 2nd dimension, it would seem that infinite versions of a 1d point are created when viewed strictly 1-dimensionally. However, it is simply the movement of that 1d point through a higher (2d) dimension that gives the appearance of multiple "universes" - note the point: multiple *1D* universes, when in fact there is only a single 2D universe....food for though...what if our "multiple" universes are simply the same universe existing in infinite variation in a higher (4d) dimension, in linear 4d time, but this manifests as multiple universes occuring in single 3d time. Anyway, I've probably confused concepts and made a muddle of things, but you might get the idea of time, and higher dimensionality space, being linked as an explanation for many seemingly "quantum" theories. Note that string theory does make these very same claims - I hope neither string theorists, nor general relativity theorists, would feel unwelcome in a "Quantum Metaphysics" forum []

You may be onto something... I've often thought of having my way with the bathtub, in fact I have a stash of "Bath & Shower" magazines under the bed for those lonely nights. Since I prefer larger women, I went down to the local swim centre and had relations with the indoor 25m, the outdoor 50m, and the spa. Matter of fact, this cute glass of water on my desk has been making passes at me all evening... would it be rude to pour it down my pants on the first date?

Seriously friend, you may want to consider that water is used energetically and magically to disperse or discharge, both humans and objects, of pranic and astral matter. It is good at this, especially at lower temperatures. If you form a habit of sexual discharge into water, especially of the intensity you describe, you will find yourself depleted very effectively. The water will also contain your own matter very strongly, and the subsequent fate of the water will have an energetic recourse on yourself, even if you are not developed enough to sense it. This includes drainage, mixture with sewerage, etc. Many common techniques of voodoo and low magic utilise this fact, and someone sufficiently trained would have a very strong psychic link to you through that water. Negative recourse would be weak, given the dilution, and may not manifest immediately, but over time anyone with etheric sight could perceive the effect on your energy body through this habit. My advice, sincerely, is to discontinue the practice.

And please forgive the course humour above - only meant light-heartedly.

abandoned_spirit - let me say as a practitioner, harsh as this may sound, that you have no idea what you're talking about. The terms you describe, except Jing, are all Vital Energy. Your imaginary ki ball was hilarious, friend. Please don't be offended, but if you are interested in really practicing energy work, you have a lot to learn.

If you want techniques, define your goal first. There are 3 core skills with Vital Energy manipulation: Accumulation (raising, pore breathing, crown loading with light, etc), Projection (healing, distance healing, projectiles), and Awareness (feeling/seeing energy, tone, quality, internal body awareness). Your goal should be mastery of all 3 core skills. NEW (or any tactile method) is a very good starting point. To enhance NEW, do it in trance, and perform pranic breathing beforehand, plus focus on the meridians not simply whole-limb movements. The individual methods for accumulation, projection and awareness are too numerous to put in a post, plus you already have enough information on this site to begin practical work, and your ignorance of the basics tells me you are not interested in the practical work, so further instruction would be fruitless. I gave a simple trance method, plus book references, in the chi balls thread if you do want to take the required steps.

Friends, it is a shame to see such repetitive questions on energy fantasy and fiction. Why ask them? You wouldn't apply any of the techniques even if someone told them to you. This is mental masturbation. I'm sure there are experienced practitioners who refrain from engaging in this forum because nothing of substance is ever discussed, atleast since I joined. Rapid progress is made by committing oneself to action, not discussion. I guarantee that anyone who practiced effective techniques, say Alpha trance + NEW daily, would within 4-6 months have gained powerful clairvoyance, intuition, healing (local+distance), etheric sight, energetic projection, etc. Practice practice practice, not talk talk talk. I'm saying this with good will for the sake of your development, not because I simply like making a statement.

Wangting - what is your interest in chi balls? Are you healing? Creating an elementary? Or just curious?

Any method for energy projection, whether balls, volts, or streams (as in healing), draws energy from your own body in accordance with your will. If you project energy without drawing it from an external source, it will be sourced from the storage centres in your etheric body. This depletes you, and is a form of contamination, regardless of the spiritual purity of the projector. If the recipient is magically trained, and is sensitive enough to apprehend your energetic substance, they can use this against you (etheric matter is akin to blood) in any of a number of rituals. It is safer, less contaminating, and less depleting to source your energy externally in all projections. If projecting through your hands, draw energy through the feet or crown. Alternatively, draw via the left hand and project via the right. The quality of energy will vary with source (solar prana, earth prana, etc), emotional vibration (pub vs church), and the level of activity in your primary centres - these refine and transform.

For you to project energy, you should ideally be in trance (mid-Alpha at minimum, deep-Alpha or Theta is best). You should have a disciplined will (thought control) and you should have strong energetic awareness (either visual or tactile perception of energy). If you are a serious student, more than a poser, then you can atleast start with NEW. Learn a basic trance method - deep relaxation coupled with raising the eyeballs upwards and breath focus is enough for most. Persist with this and your trance state will deepen. When you begin to sense energetic movement, learn some basic but effective prana manipulation techniques. Two books that are excellent are:
- Qi Gong Empowerment, Shou-Yu Liang (basic guide)
- Your Hands Can Heal You, Stephen Co (excellent Pranic Healing guide)

You should not expect to project chi balls of any serious strength until you are competent at raising, moving and condensing prana. In addition, even masters cannot go around blasting holes in things - for this you need to control the elements, specifically Earth - and only after decades of practice can a novice expect to learn the full magic behind the abilities. That is far beyond the scope of your interests right now, but you will find many amazing abilities by progressing dilligently with the methods above. All manner of psychic ability is made available to those who are masters of their own energy body.

Don't ask too many questions. Do what you know, and results will surely come.
