Welcome to Dreams! / Having Sex in My Dream
February 28, 2006, 20:36:04
El-Bortukali,

QuoteAnd mainly because masturbation leads to ejaculation,Ejaculation leads to pleasure. And pleasure leads to wanting more, thus creating desire.

Desire is the source of all suffering .

Your desire to not ejaculate will likely lead to suffering aswell --> http://health.discovery.com/centers/sex/sexpedia/blueballs.html just a forewarning  . I also dont agree with "Desire is the source of all suffering"... Try telling that to an ebola victim...

QuoteNah,it's good for humans but i want to achieve something greater

Out of interest what are you expecting to achieve by these actions.. or non-actions? What makes you think your going to find "something greater" and what makes you think sex is animalistic?

QuoteOur hormones are our enemies, emotions, feelings, the end result of them, etc is what i battle.

Read up on hormones... They really arn't the enemy... When you understand what they do im sure you'll agree.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hormone

Anyways, why avoid feelings and emotions? i know they can cause problems sometimes and i agree humans could do with losing a few, but they do alot of good too... infact so that your not dissapointed in the future i'll inform you that its impossible to live without them  . Emotions and feelings are the very things driving you to abstain from sex. Compassion, love, guilt, fear, ambition, curiosity, joy, fascination, determination, respect, sympathy, enthusiasm.... How boring and dead you would likely become if you felt no emotions and feelings.

Good luck in your quest anyway.

Welcome to Astral Pulse Island! / How bout

Yeah im up for that, although im way out of practice lately. Last lucid was at least 2 - 3 weeks ago.

May give me something to work to though, a little motivating challenge never hurts.

Thats a tough question..

Id definitely agree with Sigur Rós and Godspeed,
in the same type of catagory:

*Explosions in the sky - first breath after coma.
*65 days of static - i swallowed hard like i understood.
*Aphex Twin - Stone In Focus (I have no idea why i like listening to this so much, its the same small peice of music repeating for 10 minutes :\, its the music used in "Spoilsbury Toast Boy" by David Firth of fat-pie.com (awesome animation))
*The Dandy Warhols - Sleep

As far as trance goes it doesnt get much better then Rank1 - Airwave  .

I have a strange and vast taste in music and it shows, because recently i created one of my favourite compilations of all time, and its made up of music from the homeworld series of pc games and of X2 - the threat. I swear no CD on earth will get you relaxed and make you forget your troubles quicker   .

Heh, good idea, but have you not read the API threads? Unless im missing something there hasn't been a single occurance of 2 people sharing an astral experience. Although thats no reason to give up trying it does seem to point out that we're along way off astral pool tournaments  .

It would probably be more beneficial to focus on actually getting some form of astral connection going before planning astral events in my opinion.

I downloaded and watched the elegant universe yesterday, it seems dingo is right, in order for strings to describe every type of matter they would need extra dimensions. Of course that only means that 11 dimensions where predicted so the math would work .

Just another Aaron C. Donahue fan site, which means its almost definitely fake. I do have a certain level of respect for Aaron, he happens to have alot of good points, but he also has alot of bad ones and its pretty clear to anyone reading his work that he has no respect for human life.

An example of his views:

Old people and the severly disabled use up too much of the worlds resources and give nothing back, so they should all be slaughtered.

So in conclusion he's a nutcase!

Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Drugs...
February 19, 2006, 15:07:38
QuoteAre drugs not recommended, although at first judgement one is inclined to say they can be helpful while projecting?

Its a hard question to answer really, there are so many unknowns when it comes to drug use. Personally id say the natural approach is better, anything you may become reliant on (not just addicted, but rely on to OBE) is a bad idea in my opinion. CD's and tapes are usually fine because they get you to a relaxed state but your in control, drugs take some control away from you... Mushrooms for instance last aslong as they last, you may not be able to break out of a bad experience until the affects wear off hours later.

Although you may need to put in extra work, in the long run training your mind and gaining more control over your abilities is better then a one off uncontrollable experience. Another thing about drugs is usually the more you take the more you need, so its not exactly a reliable method.

Hope this helps.

And so the mystery continues..
I dont think its a moron playing around, jasons either completely obsessed (which im sure he would agree on) or delusional.
A quick search on google shows not only has he posted it in a total of 3 astral forums, but he's also posted it on things like www.britneyboards.com and www.wyoung.co.uk (will young forum).

From googling it also seems jason goes by the name sean on some sites.

Im afraid im gonna have to let you down gently and say: Paul Curran isn't as famous as you like to believe, infact he simply isn't famous. He isnt a great writer in my opinion:
http://www.authorzone.com/view_stories.php?storyid=288
He has a huge ego problem:
http://www.authorzone.com/view_articles.php?articleid=157

And to finish it off if you dont respond with a bit of emotion and address some of these points i may also begin to believe your a robot .

>RooJ

P.S. Do you have any personality of your own or do you spend your entire life aimlessly commenting on another persons achievements? Are you interested in Astral projection? Have you tried any techniques? How did you get on? Forget Paul, speak your own mind.
#34
Cool experience!

I cant give you any more answers then you have, ive never experienced sleep paralysis sadly. I'd be interested to know however, if you get any sleep paralysis in the future, im wondering whether once you get it it becomes a reoccuring experience.

Good luck and congrats

If god wants believers then why not prove its existence? Thats all it would take. Is that too much to ask? Its not like god wouldnt have expected us to get to a point where we leaned more on evidence then 2000+ year old writings. COME BACK NOW WHEN WE HAVE DVD TO RECORD IT ON!.

Im pretty much undecided on everything but this seems like a really simple solution.. The balls in gods side of the court, not mine, when it makes its move, then ill make mine . Hmm, I cant help but think that religion is the worlds prevailing mental illness... Maybe scientists will find out its caused by a virus or something...

I recently heard Nine inch nails, "right where it belongs", nice lyrics on that aswell:

QuoteSee the animal in it's cage that you built
Are you sure what side you're on
Better not look him too closely in the eye
Are you sure what side of the glass you are on
See the safety of the life you have built
Everything where it belongs
Feel the hollowness inside of your heart
And it's all
Right where it belongs

[Chorus]
What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems
What if all the world you think you know
Is an elaborate dream
And if you look at your reflection
Is it all you wanted to be?
What if you could look right through the cracks
Would you find yourself
Find yourself afriad to see?

What if all the world's inside of your heart
Just creations of your own
Your devils and your gods
All the living and the dead
And you really are alone
You can live in this illusion
You can choose to believe
You keep looking but you can't find the words
Are you hiding in the dreams?

Holds alot of meaning.. On one level it says that we tend to get so wrapped up in the whole social/human way of life and whats expected of us that we end up giving up alot of ourselves and our freedom... we tend to cage up our personalities and filter it out in order not to upset too many people. We've nearly all felt the hollowness, right?

Anyways, I dont think true freedom can be found on earth as a human, only in dreams and AP's etc.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / So I'm a blue ray child
January 14, 2006, 15:03:03
And there i was thinking there was only indigo and crystal... If anymore come out im gonna have to start collecting them like pokemon.

Seriously though, Id love this whole children of light thing to be true, can any aura viewers on AP confirm the vast numbers of indigo or crystal aura's? Also Ganamoha, If you intend to pursue this id advice you not to throw yourself in without at least a slight amount of healthy open minded skepticism.

RooJ,

P.s. Over half the items on that list sound like me, ive also noted much on the lists for crystal and indigo also show striking similarities with me. With that in mind ive realised i must be something better, a combination of all the new evolutionary steps... Im gonna call them the UBER children... see here for the word uber:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=uber

P.s.s Uber children tend to be very sarcastic so you should probebly ignore me....

lucidnightmares,
Damn, tough break, im sorry to hear your going through bad times at the moment   . Dont worry if your posts aren't answered quickly, the dream forum isnt as active as the astral ones so it can take time to get a reply.

Your experience seems to be related to sleep paralysis. An example from the forum found when searching for "paralysis".

QuoteMy first experiences with this was more of a sleep paralysis than anything. I would feel myself slip into the "mode" which felt like a massive amount of energy going from my toes to head then all over. I would then be terrified! I would always feel someone was in the room (possibly aliens etc.).

Some information on sleep paralysis from another thread:

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17362

I hope this helps you, its apparently very common not to be able to scream and to feel an evil entity of some kind during sleep paralysis, although ive never experienced it.

And finally Welcome to the community!  .

Lucid dreams are not only amazing fun, but also very attainable. I suggest, aswell as here, to check out dreamviews.com. Its basically a site/forum devoted to lucid dreaming and gaining + experimenting with the ability. I always find the feeling of floating or flying in a lucid dream amazing. When i first started i was expecting to feel supported in someway but was pleasently suprised  .

Good luck in your lucid quest!

Cool experience, i mean i know you dont agree, but congrats anyway.
Yeah this is a common situation, its usually reported during the onset of sleep paralysis and projection. Try not to let this put you off though, as Mindless said, the power lies with you, if you can manage to stop yourself panicking you can gain control of the situation.

Good luck

Quoteisn't it entirely possible that all an OBE is is just a rapid release of naturally produced DMT in the brain?

Yes, and that can also be tested for (if it hasn't been already). DMT is obviously smoked while awake, a release upon falling asleep (which would then remove the distraction of the physical) would probably be a much more powerful experience.

I think its an interesting theory and more work should be done on looking into chemical releases in the brain during projections... and of course ruling chemical activity out if necessary.

All this hypothesizing is nice, but now you have to come up with methods of testing your theories, blind faith isnt healthy in the search for truth.

Ben,
QuoteIts quite simple, to me. All physical matter is just a manifestation of consciousness. your brain included. this consciousness is formed by either your mind or our collective mind. or maybe your mind is fed the data.or a combination of both, who knows. but its quite clear to me that the brain is simply a machine that 1)runs your physical body(tells you when to poop, sleep, etc) and 2)translates subjective energy into objective "things"- the chair you are sitting on, the keyboard you are typing on. all manifestations of a single substance.

That doesnt really answer the question of how you reached that conclusion. Im also interested in the answer  . Also, do you not think you would benefit from a more open minded belief system? You seem positive of the conclusion you've reached and yet it seems to be based on nothing more then gut instinct. Its all good and well believing in something strongly but it can also limit your ability to learn. I find the stronger you believe in something the more likely you are to dismiss more obvious truths in search of an answer closer to your origional thoughts. Im not trying to be picky, just its healthier to approach many theories as theories, and not facts.

Thats not an easy question to answer, but in short, i dont believe any cd, device, book or tape on the market today can guarantee you success. As a result of this i tend to avoid anything which guarantee's results.

Do you not find it odd that someone with such an amazing product that almost guarantee's them astral travel and allows them to see the future wants $30 from you? Have they not already won the lottery, scored big with betting, on the stock market etc... and with their Increased psychic abilities & ESP have they not already taken part in the one million dollar paranormal challenge?
Before people tell me its not just about money, if your willing to put the time into creating a business and selling products online with fancy offers to attract customers... then it is about money.

QuoteScience is finally starting to gather evidence that suggests you CAN leave your physical body and that your conscousness even survives the death of the physical body. Using brainwave technology that has been around for years, it was discovered that certain combinations of alpha and theta harmonics can cause the immediate transference of consciousness away from the physical body. It's like your brain is actually shifting gears!

Id really love to read a scientific report that suggests its possible to leave the body, but as the site offers no link to its information source i guess im meant to trust them?

Anyway, saying all that there are products that can help you, books that can get you on the right track and cd's that can get you to a nice state of mind... unfortunately you will likely have to put in alot of work along side these aids . Ill also add that for every product on the internet you can find mountains of free information and mp3 downloads etc, all promising the same thing but asking for nothing in return. Personally ive found the best way to progress is to read and take part in forums like these.

I wish you luck anyway,

Welcome to Astral Chat! / NNOOOOOO!
November 24, 2005, 15:10:38
I decided to have a quick look through the forums today at work, i do this most days, only during breaks of course.. well today i was in for a bad suprise. I was to be greeted by a big red cross that stated the site was blocked :(.

Either Easynet has blocked it directly, or there external filter provider N2H2 has flagged astralpulse.com and added it to some categorie that easynet have opted to block.

I can get around this, just get a direct connection out instead of through our proxy server, just annoying that they block such a cool site.

Congrats on the excellent picture knightlight... ohh, and nice experience there Ben   .

Seriously though, when i first started out, this was my ultimate goal, especially after reading a post by mustardseed about a phasing type experience he had. My goal was to be able to come in on a cold and rainy day from school/work and spend a good 30 minutes soaking up the sun on a tropical island or maybe exploring a huge mystical forrest etc. I suppose it was escapism that first pulled me into this somewhat underground world.

As knightlight said, it seems alot of us are beginning to have more/better experiences... and maybe, just maybe i might be able to reach my goal also   . Certainly a great experience Ben and i wish you many more.

Thanks for the reply,
Yeah i was thinking the same thing about psychedelics, its pretty cool that we can achieve this without the need for drugs   , certainly saves money.

Anyways, yeah ive had those weak hypnogogic imagery style swirls before, usually before the vivid hypnogogia kicks in, just this happened while i was wide awake. As i said, this was happening to a certain extent with my eyes open, then instantly increased in quality when I closed my eyes. I guess ill just hope for more so i can explore the state further.

>RooJ

p.s. I also have issues with falling asleep during practice   .
#49
After sleeping 3 or 4 hours during the day i awoke to eat my dinner (about 10:30pm... long story :)). I ended up back in bed about 1:30am listening to the donnie darko soundtrack. I noticed i could see swirling light patterns behind my eyes. Wave after wave circling or passing softly, almost like something calling out to me or giving me a glimpse of something i was missing out on. It was like watching ripples on the top of water... but from underneath. This didnt feel like hypnogogic imagery as i was very much awake, after opening my eyes in the pitch black room i could still see them faintly, and as soon as i closed my eyes they were back with full strength.... ive never experienced this before.
The patterns gave me a very calm feeling and i watched intently as i listened to the CD.

After turning off the CD and falling asleep i ended up having a lucid dream in which i spent most of it flying (wont go into details here). At some point I awoke and wanting to re-enter my dreams i just let myself fall deeper back into my mind. I suddenly saw a change in vision, i heard a young girl talking and heard ripping sounds. I began to see a warp speed style scene like traveling fast through space and then felt myself fall through the bed. I found myself in blackness, no depth to it, just black, i then awoke.
This continued, I phased, found blackness then woke. One time I heard the ripping, then felt myself floating just above the bed. I floated uncontrollably sideways watching the bed below me as i passed through the wall into my neighbours house. I then found myself in reoccuring lucid dreams which i wont go into.

So... I had lots of lucid dreams, false awakenings and i entered via phasing lots of times, often with the feeling i was experiencing an OBE (after checking the time i found only 1.5 hours had passed since i first went to sleep.)

In closing, although id be interested in any comments about the experience im mostly interested in the light swirls. I found it much easier to visualize as i was falling asleep after having saw the imagery. Maybe it was related to digestion due to eating that late??

Comments welcome,

>RooJ

Do you really believe that all 10.6 million+ people in greece are perverts? Isnt that a bit narrow minded? Sorry if you had a bad experience but im not sure its gonna get any easier by stereotyping an entire country's population on the basis of 1 event.

Just a thought

>RooJ

p.s. It did occur to me that your entire post might just be a ploy to start an argument on here... if so... you need a life.
