For basic word-processing, surfing the Internet, playing music, my old 350 MHz AMD worked very well with Windows XP - as long as I did not use bloated software (some anti-virus programs can really clog up your system), and defragmented my harddrive once in a while.

If you want to play the latest 3D games however, only the latest hardware will do.

Are you behind a firewall ? - if not, I recommend Zonealarm from Zonelabs (free version available). It has caught a surprising amount of intrusions for me.

If you want to try Linux, try Mepis Linux (http://www.mepis.org/). It is free, and there is a live boot CD available for download, so that you can try it before you install it.
I would not recommend it with a slow computer though.  I don't use it as it is just not possible to find the applications that I want for it - and it is sometimes very difficult to install applications.

On my old computer (350 MHz AMD, 96 MB RAM), Windows XP ran faster than Windows 98, and FAR more reliably. Perhaps 166 MHz is too little for it.

You might also want to use more than one anti-virus program, as one program just isn't enough to catch all the viruses running around. (try http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/ - free, but requires Internet explorer, it is very good though)

I am not an advanced astral projector. But I have had enough Out of Body Experiences to know that losing the physical body is of little concern to me.

And so I wonder what all this "ascending to the 4th dimension" stuff is really about.
Does it in reality refer to the death of the physical body (Death being too scary a word ?) - the same way that some people use "he passed over", "he kicked the bucket", "he departed" instead of merely saying "he died" ?

Or does it refer to our world behaving very, very oddly in the not-so-distant future, which somehow makes it possible to skip the usual dying phase in order to go more or less permanently to the astral with all your belongings ?

Am I mistaken, and the 4th dimension isn't really any reference to the astral at all, but something entirely different ? If so, how can I visit it ?

I don't mind dying the usual way, and I certainly don't expect the world to change just so that I can skip the dying experience.

Last night, I dreamt about binaural beats used by the military. I also dreamt that I downloaded some from the Internet, from a military website.

All around me, I see younger people thinking the same inane things are funny, the same things are cool.
They are watching the same movies, watching the same shows on TV.
They are listening to the same music, adoring the same actors/"stars" (an insult to the real stars in the universe).
Those who of age should be children, are playing adults, dressing in the same clothes, wearing makeup, having premature relationships.
There are exceptions, of course, but not too many.

My body was no longer tired, and so I slowly awoke/shifted consciousness from the astral to the physical. However, I was aware that I still had some unfinished business in the astral. I had a meeting with a person, whom I had had a strong longing to meet again, the night before I went to sleep.

So, I let my physical body get up and out of bed, getting ready for the day. Meanwhile, I maintained my astral presence. We both sat in meditation posture. The subject "discussed" was physical (lower chakra) vs. spiritual/heartfelt love. During the "discourse", I could feel heart chakra love, in my astral body - which in turn reflected to my physical body (or perhaps the other way around ?). It was quite invigorating in any case.

I had some difficulty in making sure that my physical body's surface mind thoughts did not spill over into my astral presence. But I succeeded reasonably well - as far as I was able to perceive. After the main goal of the meeting had been accomplished, I saw that I was no longer able to maintain my astral presence for much longer. I forcibly withdrew my astral presence. The meeting had ended.

Has anyone here tried to maintain a physical as well as an astral presence at the same time ? (my belief system demands a few reality checks from time to time)

It might be one of the only chances in history that one of your incarnations has a chance of throwing a party on the "other side".
It would also be a nice opportunity to meet everyone.

What makes a society, a society, is that there are rules, to which most people conform. If most people did not conform, to some extent, there would be anarchy.

I see Astralpulse losing it's value as a source of knowledge due to too many contaminations in the pool of knowledge.

What sparked this topic was the topic " Mastery TV ..a path to the masses" by Transducer - http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8562. (I think some topics get too sidetracked, therefore a new one)

In this post, I will comment on some segments of the first post in the thread mentioned above, as it, in my opinion, is an excellent example, although way too obvious. There may be some over interpretation, to illustrate the tactics used. Transducer, this is not a personal attack, though you may perceive it as so.

1.
"I would like to share this opportunity with you."
Ceremonious - you are special (ego baiting, which there is a lot of in that advertisement) - remember the Nigerian/African e-mail money scams ?.
Yet the effect of ego baiting is somewhat countered by the subject line  " Mastery TV ..a path to the masses" . Who likes to be considered one of the masses, a sheep in the flock ? - most people like be someone special, even though they may not in reality be so in the eyes of others. Ego baiting preys on the weak.

2.
"With the impending global shift of consciousness, this is a very interesting concept. We know that many new avenues are going to be opening up that will greatly assist in our personal and planetary transformation."
Saying something unwarranted - if you continue reading, you are probably reading it out of curiosity, or because you already hold similar beliefs, have read channeled material, and probably believe in karma - or something similar. "our personal and planetary transformation" ? - a sign of hive consciousness. "Zeta" is the word which comes to mind. (Dark knight, I had not seen his profile before I wrote this)

"World-renowned visionary author/educators, and a wonderful, amazing, new, global television media, combine forces to profoundly change people's lives and the world for the better."
General population targeted message, drawn from the "one solution fits it all" bucket. How can something really change EVERYONE'S lives ?. Only if everyone is the same, which they fortunately are not, though that seems to be a goal on a political level.

"Please check into it, and see if you think it will benefit you by enhancing the quality of life on Earth and accelerating your financial freedom."
Way too obvious signature of the sender of this message. We all want "quality of life", and "accelerating your financial freedom" is just another way of saying "get rich" in a more refined style - I think Dark knight mentioned something similar. Rarely, however, does both come easily.

"Forward-thinking visionaries and people of goodwill from all walks of life are lauding Mastery Television, calling it an unprecedented force for good."
WHO ?. Argument intended to persuade because Good People naturally buy into this idea. And you naturally consider yourself Good - or want to be Good. The words "unprecedented force for good" sound as ridiculous as some of the more humorous parts of Bush's Good Vs. Evil childlike rhetoric. (try substituting Bush with Homer Simpson, and it becomes Axis of Eeevil)

"The mission of Mastery Television is to uplift and enrich humankind and transform people's lives, physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and financially, and advance human awareness, by providing the world's most superlative, life-enriching and life-changing educational programs."
Big mission, VERY little info on their website for such a big mission (http://www.masterytv.biz/). Their Flash advertisement made me laugh by it's simplicity - all form, no content, only pep talk (the only kind of "info" they had).
So it doesn't cost anything ? - of course it does (according to Transducer) - you just aren't told up front.
Another cause for a laugh, was when I clicked on "Help" and the first two sentences said "Mastery television is in PRE-LAUNCH. E-mail your Mastery television website to everyone you know." Sounds like this is the launch to me.

"All men and women of goodwill who are concerned about the welfare and future of Humanity, and all who are working for world peace, to expand and elevate human awareness, and to help constructively transform the world, will love Mastery Television, will be deeply moved by its vision and mission, and will want to become involved in some capacity in this powerful, vitally needed, enlightening, life-enhancing and life-altering public media."
Combine 5. and 6., and you basically have this sentence. Repeat a lie often enough, and it will eventually become the truth. Lots of feel good buzzwords strewn vaguely - intended to make you conform to their agenda, which on the surface, may seem benevolent enough.

Overall, I find that advertisement a simply pathetic effort, and I hope that you can come up with some better, less obvious examples.
I'll give credit to some of the big fish politicians, they do a far better(or worse, depending on your point of view) job in many cases.

Please note: the interesting & confusing part is at the end, the following only serves to make the story whole.

M1= Allan, the one writing this message.
M2= Another incarnation somehow connected to M1, I presume.
BigI= the link between M1 and M2 (the Higher Self?)

M1 was very tired, and went to bed. It was a warm afternoon late in April, 2002.
M1 decided that he might as well try to travel astrally, while letting his body rest. M1 lost consciousness.

M2 was out of body, his physical body lying fully clothed on it´s stomach on a red bed, in the middle of a mainly pink dorm room. M2´s body had dark, short hair, dark clothing, and was not that tall (as M1, though he did not know it). In front of his head lay a magazine with a black frontpage, and white title: it was Journal Of ...(not remembered upon awakening). There was also a map unfolded.
Shortly after leaving his body, he observed another boy in a bed to the left of his, borrowing his magazine without asking, thinking that M2 was asleep. M2 got ticked at him, but decided that the matter was not worthy of pursuit.
Instead, he wanted to roam the dormitory, to see if anything was happening. So, he went up through some ceilings, in through some walls, and ended up in a bright, sunlit room where people were commonly gathering, on one of the upper floors of a 4-5 story building.
There M2 saw 3 people he knew (but did not really want to talk to in physical person, as he was having some troubles with his brain not working very well - the same problem as M1), sitting in their physical bodies in a blue couch. He would particularly have liked to have known that long haired beautiful blonde better. But M2 left, and flew out through the outer walls of the dormitory (yellow bricks). There was a small green lawn outside.
M2 decided that there was not anything worthwhile checking out, and so returned to his body.

Or, rather what M2 thought was -his- body. M2 had a tough time trying to wake what he thought was his physical body, as it was paralyzed, cold and it´s heart not beating, or beating very slowly. M2 tried several times to instantly "connect" with it, but was not successful. So he tried to slowly "warm it up" in the extremities.
Subjectively estimated, about 15 minutes later, he had some success in moving an arm and a leg, and then after a while "his" whole body. M2 sat up on the bed, opened his eyes, and found that he was in a place he definetely did not expect to wake up. M2 was in a place where neither his physical, nor astral body, had ever been - in a body he had never occupied. M2 just sat and stared at the wall for several minutes.

Slowly the memories of what M1 had experienced, bodily & astrally, crept into the mind of M2.
M2 had entered the physical body of M1 / or, more likely, M1 had just forgotten himself totally while being M2 in his astral body.

The how & why of the experience has not been explained since - but it was certainly not an experience I would be without.

I now consider myself to be mainly M1, since I do not remember anything else of M2´s life, but his(mine?) astral travel, described here.

Note that from the memories I, M1, remember from the memories of M2 (also I), I gather that they, we, M1 and M2 (I and I - just different parts of the BigI) had in common the following traits at the time of the event described:
1. They were about the same age (17-22 years old)
2. Both had trouble with remembering things, and had/have a dull brain. Problems with communicating & socializing.
3. Both were a bit experienced in exploring astral realms.
4. Both would wish that they were able to see more clearly in the astral/physical world while in an astral body.
5. They both live(d) in a western country, in the year 2000.

They had also tried to have an OOBE at the same time, the one described. (I feel)

If all of this sounds confusing, I agree, however it does not make it any less confusing by me having to write it in my non-native language. (I´m a Dane)

The only way to really understand it, is to try something similar.

Or, just die - and get the whole truth. (But why not wait for a while, since there are so many interesting things happening on the political scene at the moment - if you look behind what the oil-soaked, spy-riddled monopoly press presents. For instance, this month chemtrails appeared for the first time in Denmark)

For me, the concept of simultaneous incarnations was just an empty idea before this experience. Now, I have no doubt, that there are other "me"´s out there.

This dream is from 10+ years ago.

Scene 1:
I was in a major American city (Los Angeles ?). The year was 2009/2010.
I wandered the streets, wondering where everyone was. Not a soul was to be seen, and the entire city seemed dead. No life anywhere. A very bleak environment with no colors.

Scene 2:
I was in a building with lots of glass windows, and a clear view of a star-speckled sky.
I said goodbye, to a few persons I knew (in the dream). And then I transformed myself to a blue light, and disappeared.


I did not see some catastrophic event happen, but I did see what remained. This is one of the very few old dreams that I still remember.

Perhaps you might be interested in learning some more about how the darkside operates.
I have just finished reading "Mind Manipulation - Ancient and Modern Ninja Techniques" by Dr. Haha Lung and Christopher Prowant.

For me, it really gives some insight into how devious and deceitful the darkside is, and how they can lie with a straight face, pretend to be your friend, helper, etc., - all in order to get to know your strong sides and weaknesses, and then wreak havoc upon your mind without you even knowing it.
If you learn the techniques used by them, you can defend yourself by being aware. They rely on people not knowing how they operate.

Before I read this book, I thought I was reasonably aware of how they operated. Now I know how wrong I was. Some of them will really do ANYTHING to gain the upper hand, not limited by conscience. The most devious, are so devious that they are very hard to recognize, as they are very good at appearing to be just the opposite. (example: charming serial killers, such as Ted Bundy.)
