Hey Frank -

I am so incredibly grateful for you sharing your technique and to Jeff Mash too for the different angle.  I did the Monroe Tapes for a long while before I realised that they were missing all the most important instructions for actually projecting!  (NOT impressed!!!)

I really think that your personal technique is such an important addendum that I think it would be great if you could make an article out of what you've written so far.  I just think that otherwise the postings might be difficult to find.  (And I had a hard time finding your previous posting on the cone of consciousness too.)

Bloody awesome stuff!!!

Cheers!  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Astral Mapping
September 08, 2002, 04:52:44
I think mapping would be a fabulous idea - and it only takes someone to start it to kick things off.  How about it, Adrian?  At the moment, there's just no mechanism even if people have things to add.

About the issue of people having different impressions of astral travels, aren't reality fluctuations only a problem in the real-time zone and not the higher levels?

Cheers!  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

I was asking her more about it and she said that even though she and others had quite a few drinks that day, she's had a few strange and unpleasant things happen in that holiday spot.  Bad energy there, she thinks.

Frank - Very young or a mighty slow learner?  I don't know if I buy that.  If everyone worked from Robert's works things would maybe be easier but she's been a natural on and off since she was a kid and I don't think anything could prepare her for the shock of just suddenly ending up there ostensibly through no fault of her own.  Maybe like walking though town hundreds of times and then getting mugged.

I'll mention radiating compassion and understanding and see if she's ever tried that.  (Personally I don't know if I'd have the balls in such a situation!)  For the record, I think her friend who rescued her projected Golden Light energy or something like that, which is his regular thing and I imagine is fairly disruptive in a murky area like that.

I see the point about scaring new projectors away, but I know of two guys who were "naturals" as kids and lost the knack, then learned it later as adults.  Problem is that they both had scary experiences - one was just tormented a little with his bedsheets trying to strangle him as he was separating (which he perservered though so that was ok), but the other guy was set upon while flying about and the experience was so incredibly upsetting for him that he even took self-hypnosis to make sure he never ever projected again.  No kidding.

So my point is that even when you haven't ostensibly done anything wrong, bad things can happen.  True, it might worry people, but Robert's chapter on scary things that can happen scared the pants off me!  But it's good to be preapred.  Hopefully then people will take more precautions and be more mindful of how to look after themselves.  If you live in LA you warn your kids about the bad neighbourhoods and how to avoid getting mugged right?

More knowledge sharing has got to be a good thing - if in balance of course.

Cheers!  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Er... I really meant people using their own individual Blogger or else as you say it would be too confusing.  So you might see someone mentions that they AP a lot, you check their profile , see there is a blogger linked and find that they have recorded some of the ones they were happy enough to share.

Howdy Anne-Marie -

Actually I think what I have has nothing to do with kundalini rising (no fire) and Helmut is right on the money as it's solely due to focusing between the eyes.  (It's twitching right now.)  I must do Full Body Circuits!  I must do Full Body Circuits!

Wow!  I just got this from a guy on another forum and it is very inspiring indeed as far as DIY past life regression goes.  Note that this guy actually finds that to have a good session, he has to create his energy body duplicate (yes he gets the vibrations etc) and then starts interrogating himself, or visualises his past life appearance etc.

Cheers,
Steppenwolf :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For what it's worth, here are the steps I do for self hypnosis:

The first thing is just relaxation. I try to lay still essentially putting the body to sleep while the mind relaxes but stays entirely alert.

I typically just think about how my body isn't moving and is totally relaxed thinking about various parts (in no particular order) and if everything goes well, I get a feeling that the floor just opened up beneath me, (people say they feel like they are "floating" instead, I "sink" backward into the bed.) People who feel they reincarnated from Nazi German all sink, I guess its the type of people we are. =)  Just kidding.

Anyhow, I can usually tell within the first 5 minutes of relaxing if I will get a "good session" by telling if my thoughts are wandering around like before I go to sleep. ( I tend to try meditation when I am too tired, I'm not too smart) If my mind is all over the place and not focusing on a relaxing single thought, I tend to follow the road of sleep rather than meditation.

Back to the sinking... I feel as if I am floating slightly beneath and behind my body. (somewhat like being inside the mattress if I was physical...) I am totally aware of my surroundings, but I don't seem to care, it is so peaceful and relaxing in the trance that its like I know what's going on around me but its not important that I care... Even my wife tossing and turning next to me doesn't bother me once I'm in this state.. I only seem to revel how powerful that trance is that I can just turn it off.. I think of this stage as "bi-location"
(probably wrong term, but seeing that I suck at remote viewing, I figured I would steal it.)

Now, typically here comes my biggest problem, I can't focus on one thing to pursue... Do I want to try to astral project?  Do stupid arm raising parlour tricks, look into past lives, slow my heartbeat?  It's like a kid in the candy shop... =)

Anyway having a clear focus for past lives is essential. Most people have many, so images will come flashing and flashing until you "tune" one like a T.V. channel. Then once I tune into one I'm looking for, I think of a question to myself.

Everyone's ability is different, you have to focus on what you can "pull"... I was amazed how my wife can pull images so clear, she can describe them in perfect detail...(she can pull them so clear in fact, that she has since stopped doing P.L.R.- she still believes, but doesn't want to try, so I don't force her.) For me pictures and images are too vague and blurry, but I can "feel" certain things... The problem is I can tune into emotional things much easier, How I felt, pride, honour, love, fear. For me it opens up in the days after the session more than it does immediately. One time I was walking at work, I thought about the vague images I saw and said out loud "That's it! Oh my god!  It was all because of..." For me the hypnosis isn't what I'm after, it's the mental images and "knowing" afterward.

And here is the weirdest part... Just in your everyday normal life just pay attention to the "things" people say to you, pictures you come across and even shows to do with your past life on T.V.

People must tune into your vibrational rate after you open a part of yourself up. One of my friends in my current life came up to me after I did a regressions session and out of the blue started talking to me about how he wanted to go see the U-505 (here in Chicago) doing something together we
have never done or even talked about in the past. Or the number of times I have been asked by people who don't know me "You were in the navy right?" (I have never been in the navy and have never shown any interest, in the US navy at least =) Its just strange... I can't explain it... If someone else has a theory ... please share!

Meditation has one problem, the information is somewhat pure but your mind still "filters" what it thinks you can handle or what it expects to see.

And BTW ... names and numbers are extremely difficult.  In my German past life I have only ever gotten 1 number (the type XI U-Boat and 3 names, a first name and one of which I think is a Luftwaffe Gruppe name (why I have no idea , but I am still looking). The third is even
a bigger mystery.

Anyway some people are good at names and dates, but I think across the board they are the hardest if not near impossible for everyone to get.

After you have pulled all the information you can think of.. Just tell yourself to open your eyes and wake up... (If you want to try something really weird look at your hands after you come out of a really good session... I swear you feel like an alien...)

That's it....

BTW I first used a Past Lives Hypnosis CD produced by willy Sutphen and it works really good, (but takes a long time).

As far as being a natural ... not even close, my greatest anger is that I only get these good sessions about 1 out of every 4 or 5 tries.  So don't give up!

Talking to people, I think many fall into this trance once in a while without trying, The key is to control it and do it when and where you want it.

I find myself in a trance trying to figure out something and asking myself over and over... I respond to my own thoughts saying "No, that's not it." It's like trying pieces of a jigsaw puzzle until you finally find one that fits. Then its like the relief of a lifetime.  The problem is, I would say about 90% of the impressions I get make sense while the other 10% is garbage that needs to be filtered. And keep a journal... You would be amazed how much crap comes through that you throw out of your mind only to have it make perfect sense months or years later.

I can't astral plane, I try multiple times, but I think I'm too scared if it actually would happen. My sinking feeling puts me only about 5-6 inches away from my body, not enough to even concentrate on
expanding.

I agree on the scepticism towards channelled info, similar to what Robert himself wrote in one of his articles.  There's always good stuff in these things like this or say Walsch's "Conversations with God" - which I regard much more as "Conversations with Walsch" - but I don't believe that they are necessarily any more informed than a speech put out by any being, physical or not.

In fact I would way rather hear from an accomplished and recognised non-commercial mystic (ie the opposite of, say, James van Praagh) with some sort of track record, rather than any channelled being who I don't know from a bar of soap.  There's just too much to read out there already and one has to pick and choose what one has time to read.

BTW a good compact read along mystical lines I stumbled across recently was the online book "The Immortal" by the excellent spiritual writer, JJ Dewey.  Not 100% sure if the story is true or not, but it is really something!  I got some good crown chakra activation going while I was reading it, and I do recommend it, though of course your mileage may vary.  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Welcome to Metaphysics! / What is Magick?
June 06, 2002, 04:55:17
Guys -

You just have to read "Autobiography of a Yogi" to hear about some serious physical magic which some of those super-hi-level yogis could get up to.  Not the kinds of things ordinary people could aspire to but it seems there is limit yet found to human potential.

Now online:   http://www.crystalclarity.com/yogananda/

Also if you're interested in real magic, it's worth looking at these 2 books:

Hi Tom -

Yeah - that's a technique a friend was telling me about which supposedly Aleister Crowley was suggesting was a good one if people could keep at it long enough.  Unforuntately it's supposed to take a couple of years to perfect and I think that turns most people off.

Robert - Thanks for the reply as I was worried you might have thought the question was a little nosey.  Interesting to hear about the Dalai Lama - I must look into that!  Yes, I've read your article and I fully aggree with you, except that I would personally place more emphasis on the common model working for the majority of people.  It is important to note the exceptions though.

Ashfo - I think most people by about 20 or so can reflect and see that their soul isn't completely new and seemed to come with all sorts of odd little preferences which weren't shared by one's immediate family and friends.  I didn't think it could be real until I saw a BBC documentary on past life regression where the details from a woman's past life regression didn't fit the history books until they did a bit more research and found her information was completely correct, though it hadn't seemed so at first.  My mother when she was crash-dieting in her mid 30s started recalling dim details and incidents from 5 past lives, though she didn't tell anyone until years later.  My sister has also had at least one past-life flashback.  I have made this subject one of my many minor obsessions and made a web page about it:
http://www.google.co.nz/search?q=Crecy's+reincarnation+faq+

Grenade!  How are you?  Yes - to me remembering past life details would be as cool as astral travel - both of which I completely suck at!!!  Meditation is one thing but there is other stuff required too.  I bought a kick-arse book over the weekend which my mystical sister put in my hand.  I'd been after it for at least a year and nobody else knew - yet another cool coincidence.  Anyway what I've read so far seems excellent and I highly recommend it.  Ted Andrews has lots of books in Amazon and they get very high ratings.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0875420222
Even better, the guy who sold it to me mentioned an excellent regressionist who is a university lecturer in my town!  I have been looking for someone reputable for a while and I couldn't believe my luck.
I'm quite open about my interest in reincarnation and I get all sorts of people telling me about past life experiences and I also get some amazing ones emailed to me too.

Seems to me that here are plenty of people who seem to have no major past life "resonance" until they get onto a serious spiritual path and then they they get flashbacks.  Wicca seems to be good for this - so many serious Wiccans have had past life flashbacks it's not funny.  I even could tell what one guy's past life was once by just looking at him, and he confirmed it.  (Waffen-SS).  Don't know how it happened but there must have been some bloody amazing energy around them that day.

David - Yep, not everyone's soul seems to have the same history.  There is all sorts of talk of the occasional animal past life, UFO past life and also of rare people from the race angels who have a go at being human for whatever bizarre reason.  As the Yogis say, there are plenty of worlds around and perhaps we can swap between then from time to time.  As one dies out, perhaps another one flourishes?  Interesting idea...

Perhaps I found the same aura training you were talking about, Tom.  It;s at the start of world-renowned healing guru Barbara Brennan's book "Hands of Light".  I've been moderately interesting in the idea of seeing auras for a while but it just seemed too damned hard to see anything which was meaningful.

Note that Barbara says that the dancing dots in the sky are one of the easiest phenomena to see in nature, and that they're not sylphs, but small "sparks' (my word) of orgone energy.  Looking at the way they moved in quick spirals and zig-zags, it did seem unlikely that they were spirits of any kind - and as they are always so evenly space out.

Anyway I finally tried Barbara's idea this afternoon.  The first step was to see all the dancing points of light in the sky on a sunny day (looking away from the sun of course).  Seems it's a bit easier if I cup my hands around my eyes so I can only see sky and no other distractions, eg trees etc which I might focus in on.  After about 20 or 30 seconds I saw them - all squiggling around like crazy.  They are bright dots which travel in bizarre squiggly patterns, spread out fairly evenly all over the sky.  I just kept looking at them enjoying the view and allowing myself to get more in tune with seeing them so that they got slightly brighter and clearer.  Every time I blinked it took a second or so to get them back again but that was ok and pretty normal.

Then the next step was to bring my focus down to a point in the sky just above a tree in the back yard, which I did.  Then as I was looking at the sky I could see out of my peripheral vision a distinct light blue haze appear above the upper leaves of the tree!   I knew to only try seeing it out of my peripheral vision from other things I'd read.  So that was cool!

Then I tried to see the dots of energy in the sky more clearly - and then I noticed that not only was there a light blue band around the tree top, but my hand (which I was cupping around my eye) suddenly had this hazy thin dark blue line around it.  Freaky!

I won't read too much into all this but I am going to practice more tomorrow and if the results hold up I'll be making a web page on it with images showing what it all looks like and the easiest way to do it.

Cheers! http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

That is a really amazing article!!!  Very impressed indeed and amazed that I haven't heard about this phenomenon before.  I really must try it out sometime..

Of course it's only so useful to get spirit voices recorded on cassette, as spirits can be tricky etc, but if it helps people get in touch with recently deceased loved-ones whom they really miss so they can say goodbye properly etc then perhaps it as some good uses.  Just people who think that anything from the other side is gospel are sadly deluded (as most of us know).

David -

Regarding dependencies on hami-sync or BWGEN, I don't think anyone need worry.  I thought that might be a problem with the Monroe Inst. tapes but then I found that after a while I was automatically getting the same results when I went to bed & just lay there.  For more, see here:
http://www.geocities.com/vienna/5373/esoteric/hemisync.htm

Kary Mullis is a very interesting chap - he noticed after using LSD quite a bit that he could see reactions happening at the molecular level - and even without using LSD.  See :
http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/horizon/psychetran.shtml

I think there are lots of things which act like training wheels.  Once you get the knack, you don't need to bother with the training wheels any more - as you just know how to do it.

I might do some more research on it.  I must say that I feel quite elated when I see the sparkles as it's such a crazy effect.

About the bubbles or squiggles though, I am pretty sure that it's dust or something on the eye.  Thing is, when I see a squiggle when looking at the sky - I look at another cloud and the squiggle always follows.  So it's not external - it's something in my vision.  Bit like a spider on a telescope or something.  I'm really surprised that so many people claim that they're something else.

But the sparkles are quite different and take a bit of focusing to see.  I will try to see if I can enhance the vision and will try some energy raising too - thanks for the tip!

Woah!  Robert, those tales of vaccinations gone wrong were terrible!!!  Thanks for sharing them...

As for more info on negative effects of vaccines - there's this complete online study by the Institute of Medicine which is pretty comprehensive and mentions the pertussis vaccine issue in Japan a lot.  (Warning - pretty heavy stuff.)
http://books.nap.edu/books/0309044995/html/index.html

A bit easier to read is this link between SIDS cases in Fresno County and DPT inoculation after 11 infants died in Tennessee - all within 8 days of their inoculation.  The coroner says from now on, with SIDS cases he will be asking when the child was last vaccinated.
http://www.whale.to/vaccines/fresno3.html

And came across this interesting site about reducing the problems using Homeopathy for people who feel they must vaccinate:
http://www.tinussmits.com/english/dynamic.htm

Actually - just hit paydirt:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=10714532&dopt=Abstract
That's an abstract of a study on the National Library of Medicine website which concluded that "DTP or tetanus vaccination appears to increase the risk of allergies and related respiratory symptoms in children and adolescents"

Got the tip from this article which rebuts various pro-vaccination arguments.
http://www.mercola.com/2000/aug/13/vaccination_forbes.htm

For a ton more stories etc on vaccination, check
http://www.whale.to/vaccines.html
An especially good page is this one:
http://www.whale.to/vaccine/sids.html

Amazing the things one learns every day!!!  Makes me wonder about my family's allergies and my girlfriend's family's allergies too...  Ah well - we'll know better when it's our turn.

Thanks for the replies.  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Tom - that's a pretty amazing web site!  I was stunned to see that they offer remote kundalini awakening.  Have you done this at all or did you just surf by the page?  Yes, I've read that about the golden auras before.  Very interesting!

Ralph - it's not about competition, I'm simply asking.  You seem to have missed what I said above, as Golden Light meditation is exactly what you described - all you do is visualisation and you can feel the results in the body.  There's no mantras etc.

Mark - I don't think it's dangerous because it encourages you to move the energy down, and yet the higher centres are still stimulated because the energy moves down through them (I can feel it in my 3rd eye for instance).  Note that NEW works by visualisation too, so they're pretty much the same from that viewpoint.

Out of interest - this is what Barbara Anne Brennan ("Hands of Light") recommends in her books.

Also some friends I was talking to seemed to think that this golden energy entering through the head was different from energy drawn through the hands and feet.  I found that very hard to believe but does anyone actually know?

Cheers,
Richard http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Hi Adrian -

About the CGI - I'm pretty sure that there are Java and Microsoft versions of Wiki so that wouldn't be a problem.

However this Articles area sounds quite promising - I'll have to check it out.  The main thing is that it needs to be easy for people to add information, and there needs to be a way to categorise articles etc.  If that can be done within the articles then I will be extremely happy!  As then, people can add their coolest OBE experiences and all sorts of things quite happily.

Cheers,
Richard :)

Frank -

Sounds to me like it's a really advanced type of remote viewing.  However because you weren't given a target, you just ended up viewing an astral area.  From reading lots of RV experiences that's how it sounds to me - as many of them get a lot deeper into the place than the training indicates.

Eg check this out:
http://www.biomindsuperpowers.com/Pages/1973JupiterRVProbe.html

Just most people don't get to that level and have to work with vaguer data coming through.  However the very best feel as if they are there - or rather in two places at once.

Out of interest - are you a bit of a natural or have you just done a ton of training (yoga, etc) and if so - what training have you done?

Cheers,
RIchard http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

You need to read the treatise on projection which mentions why energy is so damned inportant - which it is.  Honestly, most people need to energise like crazy before they can have a chance at getting there - especially consciously.  Energy raising is mentioned in Part 4.
http://www.astralpulse.com/guides/oobe/oobe.htm

NEW is the best and safest system I've ever come across which you can do free or charge and on your own.  Of course if you lie down and get the vibrations come over you after a while once you lose your bodily sensations you might not need it, but chances are you're like many other peopel who need a boost in this area.

Cheers,
Richard http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Two of the tree astral travellers I know personally have had the living excrement beaten out of them.  One was just telling me yesterday and may even submit a page on my web site about it and how she gets around it now (white light projection I think).  Said it left her feeling beaten up and she had a bad headache for 3 days straight afterwards...  Not nice!

The other one decided he never wanted to astral travel ever again after two entities set upon him and he even took up self-hypnosis to stop himself doing it (during his sleep I guess) - that's how bad it was.  Seems knowing how to protect yourself is VERY important indeed and should really be a part of the primers!  (Haven't seen it in a single how-to book yet which is a bit worrying.)

Nice to see Robert's writing a book on self-defense, but what's the chances the average newbie is going to buy it?  But then do newbies ever get beaten up I wonder?  As I think both these people had been doing it for a while.

You're brave!  I just like to push people's envelopes a bit at a time.  Once they're used to one concept, they can get the next one.  Otherwise you can get a bit of a reputation!   http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Wish this forum had been going when I first wanted to find out about them!  I just took the plunge a few years ago and bought Gateway Wave I and there are so many people asking about what they do that I shoved it on one of my web pages, so click here to read my experience with them:

http://www.geocities.com/richard_holmes/esoteric/hemisync.htm

In short - they do allow you to consciously create the energy double easily and you don't need them once you get used to the process.  But most people need more than what's in the instructions to have an OBE.  Definitely worth the money for someone starting out.

Ha -

That's so funny as I've been dealing with that for a while now.  I keep moving my bondaries and then someone I trust implicitly will tell me that they used to visit Orion as a kid (in nocturnal OBEs) and I'll think "excrement!  That's not what I wanted to hear!" and then I just have to get used to it.  But it's funny how things I used to slam ages ago I now am open to.  Guess it's sort of good, but I wish the Discovery Channel could keep up with me!

Cheers!

quote:

It only gets worse.  The deeper you delve, the weirder it gets, trust me on that.  It's easy to assign limits.  "Ok, this person has a point, that's really spectacular, but possible...but that person over there's a kook, that can't possibly happen".
Then you witness it happening, and all your assumptions shift to the right....That can be traumatic.
After this happens a couple of times, you start to realize it's going to keep happening, and you sort of get used to it.  You may still assign the "kook" label, but you're no longer shocked speechless when you're proven wrong.
