The people plugged into the Matrix = Vivid Dreaming

:-D

A vivid dream... and that's what some people call this life.

Guess most of us will never find out till the day we wake up...

...dead! *cue Megadeth*

That's cool! You remind me of this:

Ah yes  8-)

Love the whole trilogy, not just the 1st movie.

I had the same problem the first time I got past the vibrations. My head got stuck. I still remember how frustrated I felt. What I did the next time was roll out of bed (first successful separation). I used the rope method on another occasion and it worked fast as well. Nowadays, I just float away gently. Once the vibrations are over, I focus on how nice it would feel to fly out of my body. So basically, each time it got easier for me.

So yeah, a clear intention is required in order to separate, but it can be easy to master.

Keep practicing and good luck!  :-)

Nice, so that's where your nickname came from  :-D

It does look like some place out of a fairy tale. I can't wait to have my own experience visiting a place like that.

My name in the forum is related to the oldest LD (and possible projection) I recall. I was standing in my balcony, and the whole world outside was in complete darkness. Right in front of me I saw huge bolts of lightning, thousands of them. They were almost striking me, but I was standing still there, observing peacefully.

I saw lightning again in other dreams, and whenever it appears, everything else just stops and it feels like I'm witnessing a divine message. The feeling is powerful but not ominous, and I'm always calm during and after the event.

Quote from: Jilt on June 06, 2011, 19:44:26never once has the RTZ been 100% accurate to my waking reality - 90% maybe but not 100%.

Same here. I'm always in the RTZ when I exit, and it looks the same as my actual room, but there are some details added/missing, so it's around 90% accurate. And it feels a lot different from the so-called astral plane once I get far away from the physical body:
RTZ = foggy, dim-lighted most of the time, and moving around feels weird. Like watching an old dusty film with some frames missing.
Astral = hyper-real, sensual colors, bright, and movement is fluid.

@Lighting.
My method of getting into trance was developed from R.Bruce/B.Mercer's 90 day course, with a combination of energy raising, chakra stimulation, rhythmic breathing and several exit- visualizations (of which the climbing-rope seems to be the most popular) You can sit in a chair or lie down to do trance meditation.

Yeah, I'm very familiar with Bruce's work. I first found out about him 6 years ago when I was only semi-interested in OBE's. I also have the astral dynamics workbook course you're talking about (excel file). I haven't tried any of his energy raising techniques, but I can already achieve the conscious exit he describes.

To learn how to Phase I would encourage anyone to read online or download Xanth's Phasing primer which you will find here http://unlimitedbounderies.ca/xanths-phasing-primer/
He first gives an explanation of what phasing is and then starts you off with a couple of exercises.
Good luck, djed

I will try phasing just to see how it differs from the normal type of projection I use.

My aim, however, is to be able to perform the exit (without having to lie down) through meditation, with the clearest possible awareness, even while remaining close to my physical body in the RTZ, and to be able to prolong the experience for as long as needed. Now... that's gonna take some serious effort  :-D

But even if I'm never able to accomplish that, I will keep meditating.

Good luck to you too, man.

@ Lightening, To induce OOBE from the wakened state we don't go to sleep, we either just go into Deep Trance, no dreams, still awake, or we phase directly into Astral, no dreams, body still awake.  That's the beauty of Wake induce, we get dream-free experience.

Oh, I see what you mean now  :-D

You're not lying down to induce the trance. Please share your technique! I haven't tried projecting like that. Ryan told me it's the type of projection everyone should be striving to achieve, and I think he's right. I'd like to learn a specific technique that works for that, other than just meditation (which I will continue to practice anyway of course).

When you do eventually make a solid contact with another person in the non=physical dimension, its easier to believe, but I know what you mean, its easier just to disbelieve and to say 'its all in the mind' but to me that doesn't explain the experiences I have had over many years.

Yeah, personal experience is needed in order to judge this kind of thing. For me, everything has felt extremely real there, even touching other people. But at the same time, I can modify everything and it still feels real, so yeah... I will of course keep investigating, and I'd love if you could share your technique for wake inducing  :-D

Hope I can provide some useful insight.

I have not had projections for a while but about a year or so ago I was adept at willful projections. I just lack the time right now to practice and grow again. Anyways my input ->

The whole "head" not separating happened with me quite a bit...my body would be floating above at a 90 degree angle but then my head would be stuck and I could not separate. I lay on my back in the mornings so at first my legs always rise out of my body and then my arms etc until I get to my head. I usually can create a swaying motion that allows me to leave my body entirely. I also create a "rolling" motion to pop out as well since most of the times my head is the last part to separate.

Limited vision is common for people who are either just new at projection or they do not have methods of increasing local vision. When I say "local" vision I am referring to the clarity of the area directly around your body. In time you will learn to focus on specific objects or shout the commands as you have tried already to improve clarity. Techniques vary widely and you will find your own method.  In time you can learn how to increase the radius of this vision to see more of the RTZ (like your entire room). When I am out of practice and don't have a projection for several months -- I also experience "fuzzy" or blurred vision. I consciously know that I have left my body but have no clarity towards what I see or where I am going. I will often feel myself floating through walls but have no clear vision when I am out of practice. I have also had instances where my physical body would be missing. This is discussed in the forums as well (you might find some of my old posts that discuss this)

I notice the strange popping noises and sounds when I do not return to my body correctly. Usually its an instant transportation but if I wake up before I "snap" back to my body then I am often left with either hypnopompic hallucinations or odd buzzing/popping noises.

Thanks for the reply, ka0s.

Ever since I had my first complete separation, I didn't get stuck again.

Nowadays when I project, I also don't hear the popping sound and I don't force myself out of the body, I just float away gently.

My vision is greatly enhanced when I go out of my room. I had 2 projections recently where I floated around town. It didn't look exactly like the actual place where I live, there were many fictional buildings yet everything seemed real. I even touched a woman and I could feel how solid her body felt. But, I'm beginning to think AP's & OBE's are both just lucid dreaming, cause I was influencing everything, at first passively (just letting the subconscious handle it), then actively, by manifesting things, teleporting somewhere else, etc.

@Lightning

When we 'Wake Induce' successfully on a regular basis, we have no idea if it was a REM cycle or a non-REM cycle we have exited into, because we were awake! lol  :-D

The funny thing is that you can induce REM sleep easily with deep relaxation during the day if you had enough rest already (non-REM sleep). And during that state, it feels just like being awake (unlike deep sleep).

Plus I have to say, lately, after 3 more OBE's, I'm beginning to think it's all just lucid dreaming, whether you call it AP or OBE. We're all just remaining aware during REM sleep.

This still doesn't take away the spiritual quality of the experience. It can be used to know yourself in a very profound way, face your fears and actively cleanse your subconscious. As for contacting people in the real world/other dimensions/planes... well, let's just say I find it hard to believe (at the moment).

@Lightning, Not sure if this is correct, can anyone verify this?

That's what I gather from authors and people like us. REM sleep is where dreams happen and many people use LD to project. The other popular methods all include accessing REM sleep while remaining aware. Also, REM sleep is the only sleeping stage where the activity of the brain's neurons are quite similar to that during waking hours. That's why it's called paradoxical sleep.

Projecting outside of REM sleep could be possible. But I do think there is a relation in how the average duration of the OBE (10 mins) is the same exact average duration of a single REM sleep cycle (though the latter can also supposedly last up to more than 1 hour).

Don't be afraid of sleep paralysis, it's a natural process. It protects your physical body from acting out your dreams, so be glad it exists!  :-D

Next time you feel the paralysis, stay calm, ignore the visions and sounds you may hear, and you can choose between falling asleep again or focusing on projecting by trying one of the many techniques.
#39
Time is distorted when you project. 10 minutes in real life can feel like 2 hours sometimes while out-of-body.

But since the REM sleep state is required in order to start the OBE, there is a psychological limit in the duration of a cycle (usually around 10-15 minutes each).

Hi Lightning, Don't try to look at your body, get right away, otherwise you will just wake up.
Get as much experience as you can by floating away, go through walls or doors and dive up into the astral. You can experiance looking at your physical body, from a distance, later.
You will have limited vision staying near your body because you are not yet in the Astral, you are in the Etheric or 'Real Time Zone' you have to get further away and you should automatically phase into the astral. I don't wait I dive through a window or walk through a door and down the street.
Good luck, djed  :-)

Hi djed, that thing about the RTZ effect on vision makes a lot of sense to me. Thanks for the advice  :-)

The cool thing is, this morning I did see my body. I tried the rope technique for the first time, and it worked ridiculously fast  :-D

Took about 5-10 seconds maybe to separate, and I did not hear any unusual sound this time when the vibrations ended. I floated from one side of the room to the other only once, because it was difficult to move. I tried the Clarity method and while it did bring some light into the room, the whole atmosphere was still foggy. I turned around and could see my physical body lying in bed. I started approaching slowly, focusing on my face. For some reason I had the thought "Now my physical body will probably morph into a demon." I was doubting the reality of the experience. But nothing happened. I saw my face clearly, and then woke up.

Next time I'll go out and explore  :-D

Hey everyone,

I decided to rejoin this forum after becoming interested in OBE's again recently. I first created an account back in 2005 but didn't turn into a regular contributor.

Last Saturday I read a post where Summerlander strongly recommended one of Michael Raduga's e-books called "School of Out-of-Body Travel". So that night I began to read it. It's very informative and I highly recommend it as well. After going to bed I reminded myself to wake up and be very alert in the morning. I woke up around 8 a.m., lying on my back and feeling the vibrations. I didn't do anything to make them start. Being completely still, eyes closed, and letting the vibrations grow stronger, I suddenly felt (for the first time, something new while attempting to project) my hearing becoming distorted rapidly and then my ears popping. It felt like going underwater. Next thing, there was absolute silence and I could feel my other body separating gradually, but my head got stuck. The rest of my body was floating above me, but I couldn't see anything. I felt frustrated and woke up. The next morning I was very alert at first but then kept falling asleep trying to project, so I just got out of bed.

Tuesday morning was different. I was lying on my left side when I woke up and felt the vibrations occurring naturally again, so I tried to amplify them and it happened almost immediately. After that my ears popped. It was the same as before. I could feel the body separating now, but this time I remembered to roll out of bed. I completely separated for the first time. I couldn't hear or see anything, so I tried to open my astral eyes and started using a technique (rubbing hands) to gain clarity. I could see my hands, they were transparent, but my vision remained blocked except for a small area in the middle. Another thing that also disappointed me was when I turned around and didn't see my physical body lying in bed. I guess it had to do with my vision not working well. I even used the "Clarity now" method but nothing happened. Then I woke up.

Have any of you experienced that limited vision before while projecting? I need all the help I can get regarding that subject. And also, do you always see your physical body once you're out?
