The mind always mediates between spirit and matter.  If you want to do an experiment... get one of those voltage testers at radio shack... then build up alot of energy in your hands and touch the ends of the instrument... you can then consciously try to increase the number on the tester.

Your energybody disengaging from your physical body.  Embrace it next time  and see what happens.

Scientology hasn't infiltrated Thailand has it?

A belief is a belief and has the power to alter your reality whether it's true or not.

Where would we be if the Wright brother's listened to their neighbors?

Here's a mantra for you....  obeing can't hurt you and if I join the sect I will go mad.   lol

Good poem.  But why so sad?

Greetings.   I would say that if you did in fact understand them in Portuguese that it was simply a mental phenomenon of your own deeper mind.  If you ever remember your dreams... we can sometimes do phenomenal things which we usually can't in waking life.

I remember in dreams where I would read passages in books from memory which I have not consciously remembered... try to do that awake!  What if our deeper mental database actually has recorded everything you have ever thought and heard... not just from yourself, but everyone, everything you have ever encountered?

Strange experience... so you experienced dual-consciousness?

Feeling the vibes in your physical body and at the same time in your astral body?

I'm still not sure if there is a difference between obe's and lucid dreams... how do you know this wasn't a strange lucid dream?

How did you do it anyways?  Thanks.

ps... if you've ever read the urantia book... in the very beginning it talks about a level of Deity called ultimate... this is where God transcends space and time.  Looks like you may of tapped into that reality.

"slipping by me in the form of a black shadow like a ghost and I woke up scared."

Hmm...  interesting post,  Do you believe in ghosts?  Ever been scared of a shadow?

I remember this one time I was outside late at night and I thought I saw a cat in my neighbors yard.  I was whistling and making clicks trying to get it to come over.  What happened is that it would walk a few steps then stop... then walk a few steps and stop.  After 5 or 10 minutes I finally realised that it wasn't even a cat...  it was just some water pipe or something sticking out of the ground.

My mind fulfilled my unconscious wish to see a cat.

In your case...  while you were dreaming,  your mind was expressing a fear you have of ghosts.  Me,  personally... I don't believe in them,  but that's my belief,  find out for yourself.

Plus... if ghosts are real,  then why be afraid?  What is there to fear?

With the pride thing...  let people challenge you,  I was just thinking about this earlier,  Jealousy can be used for good...  to make you a better person or whatever skill you want to enhance.

Take care.

Welcome to Dreams! / Drugs as a dream symbol???
November 10, 2004, 22:16:46
Perhaps your deeper mind was simply expressing a desire to alter your consciousness.

Also... maybe your mind knows that you can change your state by taking drugs such as cocaine.  I once heard that dreams can basically be a EBS (emergency broadcast system) meaning it "rehearses" situations to test them out.  You may have an unconscious wish to do drugs... but alot of people probably do... so don't worry about it.

I feel there are numerous ways to alter ones consciousness without drugs.  Fasting is one of the oldest rituals there is...  and it definitely changes your perception of reality... for example.

Use your imagination... not drugs.  Have fun.

Thanks for the reply... very perceptive and unique,  I have not truly studied the Book of Revelation in depth as of yet,  but will look into it more.

Welcome to Dreams! / Help me go lucid
November 09, 2004, 23:09:24
I heard one argument a while back that the reason we are all not always lucid because we take the "habit" of not questioning our waking reality into the dreaming realm.

For example...  we usually dream about the strangest, craziest stuff huh?
So how come we don't ever question it?  Like... why the heck am I in a knight's outfit with a three foot long cell phone for a sword?  Just as an example.

It's almost like our long term memory in dreams is gone.  We don't really remember the "waking world."

Yet...in dreams... we have no trouble walking, talking, riding a bike etc.
So we still have memory...  just not long term.  Like if you see a giant snail in your front yard... you don't go "Gee... I don't ever remember a giant snail in my front yard...  I don't even think I've ever heard of there being a giant snail!"

See my point?

But why not?  Why don't we still have long term memory.  Ah... because then the illusion would not appear as real.  How would our mind express that repressed anger we had for our teacher?...  or how about that foolish fear we have of snakes?... etc. etc.

But then comes the question...  What if a human has no unrepressed emotions... and are quite "emotionally fit"?

Maybe then they would just become fully aware in the mental/dream world a.k.a. "become lucid."

In fact...  maybe it's not even possible to become lucid with alot of emotional "baggage."

I remember after my first lucid dream,  I felt distinctly clear-headed and energetic.

I wonder if there is a sure-fire technique that always causes lucidity?

Sorry for the rant.

Just to share some things I've learned.

When Jesus walked the earth...  after he healed a good number,  the common people wanted to make him King... a material king.  The concept of a coming Messiah or Savior was deep-rooted in Jewish culture.

Of course this is normal and natural considering the Roman oppression that was going on at the time.  Jesus's mission was spiritual in nature... so most of the Jews simply did not comprehend it... they were material-minded.

It is sad to say...  that this very concept of the King of the Jews having a material significance... is what caused the destruction of Jerusulem by the Romans.

There are 3 ways of resisting evil.

To return evil for evil... (an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth),  the positive but unrighteous method.

To return good for evil... the positive and righteous method (the highest good is invariably more powerful than the most malignant evil)

To suffer evil passively and without complaint...  the purely negative method.

Welcome to Book Reviews! / The Power of Now
September 15, 2004, 16:02:13
Eckhart's whole emphasis in this book is present-moment-awareness.  He basically says most people's day to day awareness is usually stuck in the future or in the past...or using the present to get to the future.   It's kind of confusing...but it can be fun.  Even when you reach the future that you wanted to get to...your still in the present...the Now...as he says.  Even if a time travelor were to travel 40 years into the future...for him it would be the present moment...but in our eyes it would be the future. Get me?  The Eternal Now.

Welcome to Book Reviews! / The Urantia Book
August 10, 2004, 20:52:44
You can read it for free on various websites.  This is an overview I found on one particular site which is www.urantiabook.org , you could read it there...or also truthbook.com and there is also ubook.org.

Part I: The Central and Superuniverses (31 Papers)
How the cosmos is structured and managed: An organized personal universe, evolving in time-space relative to the perfection of the Paradise center of all things is described. This creation includes millions of inhabited worlds in various stages of biological, intellectual, social and spiritual evolution. The nature of God and his relationship to the evolving creation is explored in great detail.

Understanding God and his activities in the universe 1-15
Exploring the personal universe 16-31

Part II: The Local Universe (25 Papers)
The evolutionary plan for fostering the evolving social structures of the universes is detailed. Personality survival is determined by our free will decisions related to our personal relationship with God and the values with which we choose to organize and conduct our personal lives. Growth toward perfection should be our fundamental orientation to life. This growth is evolutionary, cumulative, and virtually endless. It is achieved through the love of God and unselfish service to our fellow beings.

About our local universe 32-42
About the constellation in which our world exists 43-44
The local system of evolutionary worlds 45-48
Inhabited worlds of mortal life 49-55
Cosmological implications of preceeding papers 56

Part III: The History of Urantia (63 Papers)
A geophysical history of our planet, Urantia, sets the stage for an overview of the development of civilization, culture, government, religion, the family, and other social institutions is described from the viewpoint of superhuman observers. The meanings and values contained within human religious civilization are revitalized, strengthening the foundations upon which further cultural development may take place. A description of human destiny is provided including a description of the worlds we will inhabit immediately following mortal death.

Geophysical and biological evolution of our world 57-65
A history of superhuman efforts to foster a progressive civilization on our world 66-77
The evolution of human culture and institutions 78-92
Recent epochal revelations and the development of present-day systems of religious belief 93-103
Conceptual foundations for further spiritual exploration and discovery 104-118
Cosmic antecedents to the life of Jesus 119

Part IV: The Life and Teachings of Jesus (77 Papers)
Seven hundred pages devoted to the life of Jesus make up the most spiritually compelling biography of Jesus anywhere in print. The Urantia Book relates over 16 times as much information about Jesus' life and teachings than does the Bible. The literary depth of The Urantia Book clearly reveals and touchingly portrays his combined humanity and divinity.

The mortal career of Jesus of Nazareth 120-134
The public work of Jesus, Son of Man 135-158
The public work and personal experience of Jesus, Son of God 159-188

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Truth
June 16, 2004, 17:53:26
You can know the truth...and you can live the truth...but you cannot imprison truth within formulas...codes, creeds, or intellectual patterns of human conduct.  The post-mortem salvage of imprisoned truth...only at best...can result in a peculiar form of intellectualized, glorified wisdom.

okay...i'm about to teach you some things...yes...some interesting things...since jeff would like me to write in a more condensed fashion....i will try to do that.  Okay.  Timelines...basically humans...you are a human right? Humans...store information in certain areas and energies in their sphere.

I was watching some news program a while back...and this lady always looked down and to her right before talking about the past.  She stored all information which she perceived as in the past at down and to her right.  It was really interesting at the time.  NeuroLinguistic Programmers know all about this. NLP'ers call this phenomenon eye accessing cues.

Basically what it teaches is that everyone looks in a certain way to access a specific kind of information. Like to imagine something knew...you have to look in a certain direction in a certain way.  To most people all of this stuff is unconscious.  This is powerful stuff.
With timelines...you can do many interesting things.  For example if you store all past info/memories right in front of you. You might usually feel pretty bad or good depending on the content.  But if your past was pretty lame...you could actually put your re-presentation of the past behind you.

What? How could you do that you ask? Well...its simple...its your mind!  All you have to do is become aware of where you put your past.
You could also put your future out in front of you...and make it nice and big and colorful and happy.

Put your present anywhere you like as well...perhaps up and to your left.

Thats all for now.

Welcome to Integral Philosophy! / Charisma
November 12, 2003, 06:43:22
what is charisma? I think its a quality that attracts people to you.

how can one develop this elusive trait?

By being respectful of the personality of man. Humor is one key to charisma.  But how about being humorous about the person?

What is the difference between ridicule and humor?

Ridicule is more insidious...it is mocking a person as the purpose of  making the mocker feel superior.

True humor makes everyone feel better about themselves and other people.

"you will learn that you increase your burdens and decrease the likelihood of success by taking yourself too seriously"

There once was a man who thought he was a monkey.

And this monkey jumped up into the sky.

But then...a fly got caught.

In a jam or pickle...i don't like them that much.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / anchoring
November 12, 2003, 05:29:06
there is a term in nlp called anchoring.  Basically...anything can be an anchor.  When you have to go to the bathroom and you hear running water you have to go more.  That sound of running water is an anchor.

Do you have some topic of conversation that when its talked about you get upset etc etc.

Well that topic is an anchor.

Smells can be anchors.

Smell a certain fragrance and you start thinking about a long lost loved one etc.

Basically...ANYTHING can be an anchor.

THe thing about nlp...is that people can actually implant anchors onto people or thing and set off or fire the anchor.

I probably lost you there but i'll explain.

If your friend is watching his favorite t.v. program...and his really happy.....and you at that moment spray some cologne or perfume while your friend is watching television.  Your friend might associate that smell with that good feeling.

So you can have your friend smell that scent like a week or a year from now...and he should re-experience that good feeling he had before.

get it?

You can even use anchors for yourself.

If you always get in a bad mood when you wake up in the morning...you can scramble that pattern by setting off an anchor right when you wake up.

For example...you can set up your stereo to play your most favorite song right when you wake up.

Or if you associate the smell of roses with some good feeling...right when you wake up you could burn some incense with that smell.

These are just examples.

Or...if your afraid of spiders....you could start playing that song you really like and then go look at the spider.

You'll associate that good feeling with the image of the spider.

Some people even create anchors with specific words.

Like get in a really good state...do whatever it takes to feel really good....then say some word to yourself.  You can even make up a word like wowooah...and you'll associate that feeling with that word.

So...the next day you say that word...you should re-experience that feeling.

But anchors can also be overused and become sterile.

Like if you constantly smell roses 24hours a day...you'll soon grow sick of the smell.

Moderation is the key.

Have fun.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / seduction
November 12, 2003, 03:40:38
now...some of you women might find this weird, funny, interesting, or crazy....but i feel like sharing some of these concepts that i've learned in my pursuit of the study of seduction.

Robert greene applies seduction to social or sexual which i thought was curious...but here i want to apply it to male/female relationships.

Now...in my study of ss by ross jeffries....i have learned that there really is no difference between detailed instructions on where to go and a detailed description.

So...how can you apply this to seduction? Well...first off. What do women want? They want to feel good. Of course. How can us...men...help women feel good? By describing certain mind states such as joy, exctasy, peace, deep connections...etc. Remember: if you make your descriptions vivid enough...it is nothing more than a detailed instruction on how she...the woman....can feel it.

So...if you just came back from a run...and your girl-friend asks how was it...instead of saying "good" you could say..."it was incredible...you know that feeling where its like you just feel unstoppable and you feel really light and carefree? Her: "yeah" You: "well...its seemed to envelop me during the run...almost as if i was in heaven."

Now...if you describe it like that...with all the emotion you can muster...with the right tonality...you will make her feel amazing.

Oh yeah....use this at your own discretion...i am not responsible for the use of these tools. :)

Notice when i described the run...i used the word YOU...and not I......i did that purposely so she would be more willing to feel what i'm describing....i'm basically describing my experience in HER point of view. get it?

that's enough for now....later

ps-another cool attitude to have regarding seduction is "every woman wants to be seduced...they might just not necessarily know how"

Welcome to Astral Chat! / humor
November 12, 2003, 01:45:51
okay..."you will learn that you increase your burdens and decrease the likelihood of success by taking yourself too seriously"

"humor is the divine antidote for exaltation of ego"

Now...don't do it....NOW....haha

if you read my other post on linguistic truths you might understand.

i'm just playin.

but seriously...no...not seriously.

Ah...many truths are spoken in jest.

its very true.

But if your still reading this...you might find an imaginary monkey on your shoulder...and the more you read the louder the monkey gets.

His name is George.

The more the more.

Thats funny.

You can use the more the more in many contexts.

The more you laugh...the more you'll find this funny.

See?

haha

But...a variation on the more the more....is the more...the better...and things like that.

The better you feel....the more you'll like me....and the more you like me...the better you'll feel.

haha

The more you laugh...the more you'll find yourself laughing.

can you hilariously tell me this isn't funny?

what?

you ask. but who?

you know what can fry your brains?

the word What

look at this question.

Whats a what?

in order to ask that question...you have to know what is a what.

HAHAhaha

lol

i'm done
