In the times I have been out of body, I never thought to check to see if I was wearing anything. I guess l thought this was a clothing optional exercise. I guess I should wear something next time.

It sounds like you are doing something right. Have you read Astral Dynamics? It is a great guidebook to what you are trying to do.

To take what astalspinner said one step further, you need to be able to project at a higher energy level- I have had quite a few projections that have also been lower energy- and I think you should do more energy work. I also think that your experiences are pretty common, not everyone has experiences like you read in books everyday.

Hi, good dream but I don't have an interpetation, just want to say that I have also had "vivid"  dreams sometimes, especially after doing energy raising exercises. They are almost lucid, and definately more interesting than the regular old dream segments that are more 'normal'.  Maybe vivid should be used as a dream type along with lucid.

Welcome to Dreams! / Sky dreams (long).

Even though I have not sky/stars in my dreams I have had a few experiences looking up at the stars while OBE. I think I first started looking up while out of body because i remember reading that one way to reach the astral was to fly upwards. Sometimes when I look up I just see stars, sometimes the stars move or transform into geometric patterns, one time i was drawn up into some twirling stars and had a strange experience with geometric shapes.  Once the stars became a swirling tunnel and I entered and had an astral experience. Because of the tunnel forming I think it became and astral entry structure there is a description of the phenominon in Astral Dynamics.
Maybe if it a recurring thing you could use it as a cue to become lucid. Somehow I think the sky and stars thing relates to the discussion of 3-D blackness that  was discussed on this site at one time.

Sometimes exhaustion is not the best for having good quality obe's. I know it is hard to explain but I think visualization works better in the obe state than vocalizing-think about this-if you can see yourself out of your body you will be there, but if you say it somehow it just doesn't work-at least not for me.

One time I tried to meet up with someone that I knew was an obe'er, all I got after I had the intent was a gate-so I suppose it works if it is ok with the powers that be.

Thanks for getting this forum back up. I have a couple of questions, what is an upload quota-from my profile, and who do I contact if I find something that I think is questionable?

Welcome to Dreams! / I had a weird lucid dream.

It seems like the tingling sensation could be the obe vibrations-I have felt them in lucid dreams and then had an obe. You have to realize that there really isn't much difference between an obe and a lucid dream-maybe just a slight difference in awareness. But that awareness can be enough to induce vibrations and result in a full blown OBE. As for the girl, you probably could have created her you know, that is possible in an obe or lucid dream.

Armed federal agents shut down a 10 year old pirate station while it was broadcasting Democracy Now. Who/what is next? When will regime change come to the good ole USA?

Last night I had an experience that was somewhere between a lucid dream and a obe.
After waking at 4 am and going back to sleep I felt the beginnings of fuzzy tingles-I didn't feel I was in the heavy vibe state or in deep trance, but my wife got up to and came back to bed and she said something about her stomach which jolted me out of my state. Strangely enough this morning she claimed not to have said anything last night. I have heard voices before, but it seems later in the exit process. Maybe when we are in these states we aren't really able to judge such stuff?
Well anyway I had a time getting relaxed again, but fell asleep and found myself in a dream and became lucid and started flying upward. I went into a stone temple that I took to be Mayan, looked at a symbol on the wall, touched it and felt a jolt of energy, then moved toward the other one near it, looked at the wall between them and saw my father standing there, which was a shock, then touched the second symbol and recieved another jolt. I also have a memory of looking at some strange guy, with odd set eyes(not anything like the typical greys) that would not talk to me, I knew I could not talk verbally in a dream but I did not think of using my mind to talk. After a while the experience degenrated to where I could not move-seems like I used up all of my energy- and I woke up.
To me this was typical of the experiences that are in between lucid dreams and full obe's because while I was lucid I chose to fly up and at times was in a space that was not my dream, I did not have any audio- wind sounds or other noises and my awarenes was not enough to  stay out of dreams all the time.

I had a few experiences a week or so ago that seemed to relate to a few posts that I was responding to, so I thought I would relate my experiences.
The first happened in the morning as the sun was coming up after I woke  I settled back down and was able to sink back down into a deeply relaxed state. For the first time I seemed to keep a stream of concoiusness going and actually project. Unfortunately I found myself sluggish and did not see much. But I think the difference between this time and past experiences-I could put myself into the state were I experienced intense vibrations and heart thumping but could not go further- was that I felt like I sank far into a relaxed state and I clung onto my brow chakra.

The other experience happened a couple days later, after a somewhat sluggish start I found myself staring at the stars, found a spot in the sky that had a different color and the next thing I was I was traveling swiftly in a tunnel of swirling stars, feeling like i was propeling myself with my brow chakra. I found myself in a place that I realized looked like the place I grew up. As soon as I realized that my father asked me if I missed him(he died about 6 years ago). I responded yes, then I asked him if he was okay, and he said yes. Then I asked about my mother(she died a year ago) and did not get an answer. The conversation seemed to take place without me thinking about it. Spent the rest of my time wandering around and looking at things amazed that I could actually see things and even say awarness now! and actually things would brighten up.
I must have wandered around too long because it became dim and I thought it was time to get back. At this point usually I can feel my body while still retaining a little of where I was, however i faded into a dream and then i woke.
A few days ago I looked at the stars again while obe and saw a  swirling tornado of stars start to form but i did not enter.

Even though this is not an esoteric book I think it is important to read for anyone interested in altered states since Dr. Sacks investigates the  outer limits of human experience-the artist that loses all color vision, the deadhead who only lives in the moment, the surgeon with tourettes. He is the author(a neurologist)  whose book Awakenings was made into a movie and the lives he explores are as strange as something Casteneda wrote.

I listened to part of the David Ikes interview last week on coast to coast and was surprised by a reference he made to people seeing what appeared to be normal people(believed to be the type that are our politicians) transform into reptilians and back again before their eyes. Seems bizare but someone told me of seeing such a thing a few years ago. This person knew little of aliens and that sort of stuff but was psychic and witnessed such an event.
Since we are a diverse group of people trying for out of the ordinary experiences here(and having them), has anyone seen such a thing? What about seeing the aliens called greys that visit people in the night?
It seems like Terrence McKenna also saw these beings while on DMT, so maybe there is a realm where they exist.

I had this last night and thought i should post it since a couple replies i did recently were about dreams and projections.I my experience I was laying in a somewhat cramped space and experienced a series of 3 projections, coming back to my sleeping self and reprojecting without waking. The first one was more dreamlike or low energy so i don't recall much of it. The others went out Through the building I was in, which was basically the same both times. I went out and basically flew around the woods behind my house, seeing some lights here and there in the woods. Since I had an experience where i went into an astral world by looking up at the stars and finding a portal, I looked up, saw stars saw some swirl around but did not go anywhere. The world i was in was somewhat dark, since there is almost a full moon there should have been a lot more light  in the trees. At one point I thought i saw a blob on the ground that may be a lifeform, which is unusual for me because I never hardly encounter any other beings. At one point i thought i should make an astral sword in case that was an entity i saw, then as it was materializing I had a second thought that maybe a sword would attract it.
I awoke after this, finding myself on my side with my arms somewhat tangled under me, maybe this is why i felt like I was laying in a crowded space.
Anyone have any suggestions for having a less boring experience?

It has been over a month since william buhlaman was interviewed on coast to coast, and I have been pondering his idea that you must keep thoughts running through your mind while obe, thereby 'grounding' yourself while obe. Seems contradictory since you have to go thoughtlessness to get out, and obe's seem like something ungrounded, however i can see the connection since i seem to maintain that thoughtlessness while obe, at least i thought so until i realized my problems of moving fast thru scenery and not having much sight was related to my fears of finding something scary there(keep moving and you won't see the bogeyman but you won't see much else)After i became aware of this problem I was able to stop and focus but not for long.Any thoughts and experiences about the thought process while obe?

I would have to say I have not been a big fan of phasing, maybe just because I have not had the time to explore it fully, even though I did some guided meditations once that would probably qualify. However last night after I awoke in the night I was doing chakra and obe stuff with a  good degree of relaxation but not really feeling any vibes I decided to not be aware of my body but just to keep aware that my mind was awake-and to see if any hypnogogics were appearing-when I found myself on a disneyland like ride- first seeing a blue pool of water-very similar to a real pool in a hotel in santa cruz, ca that i saw while riding a windowed elevator. Then the experience went into landforms and geometrics that just don't translate into this reality, then a being that implanted a roll of coin like device into my root chakra to help me ground, then i awoke. I think what led me into this experience was just giving up on awarenes of the body(i did not feel any vibes or other feelings before a typical obe)and trying to be aware of the "mind awake" state.

After a half dozen projections into darkness and another 6 or so into the dimly lit woods behind my house I found the astral! I headed out into the yard, saw the moon in the distance, ended up going towards it(after those dark places I seem to head for brighter zones automatically), was in some sort of plaza beneath the moon and looked up in the sky and there were these shapes in the sky-kind of like lit up boxes and geometric forms, somehow I chose one, found myself moving in this space that was full of rainbow colors, floating geometric forms, and music, just kind of floated in it a while, then went into another room where I was going to eat bread, looked at the menu on the wall-food is expensive there, a portobella mushroom sandwich was $12, then i slowly faded back to bed.
I suppose the shapes in the sky were entry portals, I guess if I could tune into them again I would be able to phase into the astral like the discussion going on here.

How many people here dream often of projecting? After concentrating on projecting i am having obe dreams about once a week. It seems like they are a prompt to become lucid. Anyone able to turn a obe dream into a real one?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / dreaming

I was just wondering about the dreamlife of all you people here. At first trying to do projections did not seem to alter my dreams-not usually anything exciting or lucid  - but lately it seems more nearly lucid dreams started to appear. I read that normal dreams are fragments that are strung together but what I have are longer and don't jump to a different scene. Usually they wake me up so I think they are almost lucid. Anyone experience this?
I find it interesting that there is not a lot going on in the lucid dream section here, do the posters here not have many lucid dreams? It seems like with the attention to sleep life here it (lucidity) would be occuring regularly.

In  AD Robert Bruce talks about unconcious obe's where a person floats about 6 feet over their body. Has anyone become aware of doing this? I thought that this happened to me last night, because i remember vague exit sensations but it seems  like I experienced lucid dreams afterward. I thought of this because my recent obe experiences have been mostly of going out of my body and not having any energy to move. Maybe last night i did the same but switched to dream mode and never really 'traveled' anywhere, but still was lucid. Anyway it was interesting because i was in a dark place and asked for light and found myself in a meadow. The other  segment i was in a large conservatory type room and found out that i could multply the ceiling fans by concentrating on them. Maybe this place is what Frank referd to as the "astral training ground'? Comments anyone?

anyone read hank wesselman's books? in them he has obe's and  travels to the future(5000 years if i remember)  where he experiences life through a decendents eye's. i think they are well worth reading for anyone here.
anyone ever do this?

what do you do if you find yourself in a boring astral place? last night i found myself in a dull boring place and ending up going back to my body. seems like i wandered around quiet a while and could only see much if i ran and dived into the ground which would produce flames and one time saw the glimmer of irridescent flowers.
is this a low astral place or is my astral vision undeveloped?
anyone have similar experiences?

recently i started having OBE"s -mostly the exit occured while i was on the very edge of sleep when my mind was out of the way. now i find i can start the exit sensations via rope technique after i wake in the night, however my mind is more awake and i end up laying there going through the buzzing, heart rate, energy flow for maybe an hour, doing NEW stuff, chakra stuff, clearing my mind, but end up not exiting. just wondering what to do for the final push. last time it happened i stopped trying and waited to try when i was on the very edge of sleep again but no go. i suppose i will get past it but this leaves you very sore in the morning and i must have been right at the gateway a few times. i suppose if i do project while my mind is more alert the experience will be more vivid?
