Such "sudden easy successes" occur sometimes after short and especially very short breaks of the sleeps.

Yes, that's how I had all my OOBE's. But this one was different, that's why I shared it. There was no break in sleep. I was up working hard for 16 hours and then went to bed at 4am - after a very long & tiring day.

Sorry guys, it used to be free, but the admin changed it. I can still send it to you, if you shoot me a message - it's a good program.

Welcome to Members Introductions! / Hello from LA!

Hello from LA!

I've been a member on here for quite a while - I thought it was the right time to finally say hi :) I love this forum and this community - it's so inspiring to see so many people interested in astral travels and other spiritual experiences & practices. Good to know I'm not alone and that I'm not crazy  I've been having OOBE's since I was six, I've had many of them...not sure how many, but must be around a hundred. I always learn something new when I read this forum, though. Looking forward to learning more, and sharing my own experience with you all!

Hello friends,

Last night I had to stay up working until 4:30AM. By the time I finished all my work I was exhausted. My eyes were literally closing and I felt like I could fall asleep within seconds. I decided to experiment with this state and see how long I can stay awake with my eyes closed. So I went to bed and lied down on my back (normally, I could never fall asleep in this position). I closed my eyes and was waiting for hypnagogic imagery to kick in. In half a minute I started hearing voices, loud buzzing noises, seeing lights, and all of the sudden I realized that I was paralyzed. It all happened within a minute or so, I believe! Then, vibrations followed and I easily separated from my body.

I don't know if this happened because I'm used to having OOBE's, or because it indeed was a good discovery/method. Give it a try!

Check out the link in my signature below - you'll find some self-hypnosis audio programs. One of them is free, the others are available for download for a small fee. I can send you some for free, if you let me know exactly what you need.

Wow guys - I've been asking this question on different forums for years...Never really heard any valuable information on this and I thought I was the only one experiencing this.  Alice in wonderland syndrome? That's completely new to me!!

WBTB is based on the idea of breaking your natural sleeping pattern - that's when we are likely to experience sleep paralysis and usually either LD or OOBE happens as a result of that. If you make it your daily thing, it will become your new sleeping pattern and your body will get used to that. I think it wouldn't work if you do it every day for a long time.
#34
Yes, I've had those myself quite a lot. Yours is quite extreme, I must say! False awakenings fooled me many times until I developed a habit of performing a reality check every time I wake up from LD or OOBE, or just sleep paralysis.

And one more thing...how do you know you're not sleeping right now?

Just had to share this one.

Check this out, it's a free OOBE software that was designed to help you achieve a conscious sleep paralysis & OOBE. It uses a simple, yet effective idea. Read the info, it explains it all. The software has been tested and it WORKS.

OOBE Inducer Software

Let me know what you think of it!

Whatever you do, don't attempt to astral project in the evening, when you're about to go to sleep. It wouldn't work. OOBE happens naturally very often after 4 hours of sleep, followed by 1 hour of being awake.

  • Set an alarm, so you will sleep 4 hours.
  • Wake up and GET UP.
  • Read a book of forums for 1 hour.
  • Get back to bed.
  • Wait for the sleep paralysis to kick in
  • Then try ANY of the methods you learned online.

Works like a charm, and yes - it's like a walk in the park if you do it the right way.

First off, your personal massager is wrong. Breathing with your stomach is deeper, hence your body gets more oxygen, which is better for your body. It is generally considered a healthier and fuller way to ingest oxygen, and is often used as a therapy for hyperventilation and anxiety disorders.

Note that some yoga and meditation traditions draw a clear distinction between diaphragmatic breathing on one side, and abdominal breathing or belly breathing on the other. Between these two, the more specific technique of abdominal breathing is said to be more beneficial.
Performing diaphragmatic breathing can be therapeutic, and with enough practice, can become your standard way of breathing.

The way you breathe won't affect your astral projections, though. Just make sure you're not breathing consciously when attempting to astral project. If you focus your attention on your body, it will not be able to fall asleep (meaning, get into the sleep paralysis state), which is essential for OOBE. Direct your attention away from your body natural processes and you'll get where you want to get. Don't focus on breathing, swallowing, blinking "with your eyes closed, " etc. Keep your attention where it belongs - in your mind. Focus on your thought process, not your body process.

Good luck!

We are so used to the terminology like "OUT of the body experience" that we don't even question things anymore. To be honest, I'm really doubting that OOBE happens OUT there. It makes more sense for me to believe that it happens inside of our heads, just as anything else. A few thoughts:

  • The world as we know it (so called reality) consists of space, time, colors, shapes, sounds, etc. All those elements do not exist independently from our 5 senses. The fact that we see the world as 3-dimensional full-color surround-sound video is because we have eyes, ears, nose, tongue, tactile sense, and a brain that puts it all together and transform into a believable picture of reality. Hence, if we were to truly travel OUT of the body, we would probably see the world in a completely different way. There would be no shapes, no colors, no space, no sounds, no tactile sensations, etc. The fact, that during an OOBE we perceive the world as we normally would suggests that our experience has to do with a regular brain activity and brain memory. Given this is true, OOBE is really no proof for live after death, because traveling out of the body would not be possible without physical brain and all the memories contained in it.
  • The fact that in OOBE we can perceive things from the real world and later verify our observations does not prove traveling OUT of the body. Remote viewing allows for the same results, just as regular dreams - both happen without leaving the body. This means, that OOBE might be just a dream - a special state of consciousness - in which we can successfully perceive the elements of the real world.

Just sharing my thoughts. Let me know what you think :)

I stumbled on various opinions on this, and I'm confused. Some articles say that it is necessary to close chakras after stimulating/opening them. They say it's dangerous to leave them open, as the energy can gradually get away. Other meditation tutorials don't call for any closing visualizations or anything like that. In addition, Robert Bruce writes in his essay that closing chakras using any visualization techniques is ridiculous, because it stimulates them even more.

I really don't know whom to listen to, and there is no way I can actually check this out for myself. Do you have any thoughts on this?

So don't ya think saying that we know where a border between those two experiences are, sounds kind of silly?
That's exactly what I did NOT say, my friend :) I said that the boarded between two was blurry - meaning, I agree with you.
#41
Not an easy thing to define, I must say. People might say: OOBE is real, LD is a dream. But the border between them is blurry. Some LD can show you the "reality" better than OOBE.

Sounds like you're having a good run! Congrats and happy birthday!!!

Dear spiritual friends,

I wanted to share with you this wonderful audio program that you can download for free here. The program is designed to help reduce fear of astral projection - it's great for beginners.

UPDATE: Sorry, it's no longer free! Please, delete the topic if it's confusing for the members. Or shoot me a message and I can still send it to you for free.

It is certainly good point, but...how do you quieten your mind/thoughts? I find it extremely hard to do when there's a lot of noise around.

Thanks for your answer.

Hello dear friends,

How do you manage to meditate in a noisy environment? I usually meditate every day, but there's been some construction work going on nearby, and I simply can't focus. Is there any way to meditate when it's loud? How can you get some quiet time in a big city anyway? Please, share your thoughts.

Hi all,

I couple years ago I would have those astonishing dreams with lots of symbols that just had to be written down. Those dreams would speak about my future, show me answers for my deep questions, etc. Recently I realized that all that is gone and my dreams became very usual; it feels it would be silly to write them down, because they don't speak of anything important.

Why did that happen? I would love to regain my ability to dream epic symbolic dreams again - how do I do that?

I'm still not that good at AP and still trying to run some test before I believe it's a "real thing" and not just a dream. I know many of you here are quite skilled at AP, so I thought I'd ask: given that just about anybody can learn AP and basically travel without limitations and fly/walk through walls and closed doors, is there such a thing as PRIVACY? Astral Projection is not an openly discussed topic around the world. Every year more and more people become interested in it. Does this mean that every year there is less and less privacy? I know it sounds silly, but can you assume that whenever you take shower, you might not be alone??? :) That's a bit terrifying, don't you think?

Have you done anything immoral while astral projecting? Have you spied on anybody? Went through doors that were not supposed to be open? Seen things that were not supposed to be seen?

I came across a healer that offers his services over the internet. The guy has many good reviews, so I was temped to order a healing session. I'm a bit skeptical though...Can distant energy healing work just like that? This guy asks for a photo and apparently that's how he works.

Has anybody tried anything like that before? Can it work?
#49
I often find it hard to believe that one's destiny is encoded in stars. Life has so many variables that it seems completely unpredictable. Do you believe in  horoscopes? Do they work for you? If yes, what horoscope resource do you use? I'd love to try it out to see for myself. All horoscope predictions that I've read so far was either wrong or too general (could be easily applied to just about anybody).

Welcome to Dreams! / Recall forgotten dreams?
July 29, 2012, 15:32:45
Hello!

Last night I woke up and I remember thinking that I just had a very important dream. I thought to myself that it was very important to remember it, but I totally forgot the most of it. I only remember the location of a dream. I wonder if there is any way to recall more details?

I'd be grateful for some hints.

Thanks!
