Welcome to Metaphysics! / Did atlantis exist?
May 15, 2004, 18:56:32
A new theory that i've heard is that atlantis didnt 'sink' into the ocean like it was previously though, instead it was on two fault lines, and when the plates moved the land that it was on the water rose up and created a tidal wave that swept over the land and flooded the city.

if i can find the tv show i saw it on (i think it was on TLC) then i'll let you know - and if i can find the real name of it i'll tell you. It started with an H...He something.

gah i hate not remembering things like this.

I've always found that gaelic is a wonderful language to meditate to, however i can't think of the name of the cd that i heard that would be nice.
have youthought of trying Enya? she's actually pretty good.
also, "Cerridwen" by Or'Mabinogi (i think i spelled the artist wrong). very very good meditational stuff if you like that.

other than that you'd have to make a trip to a new-age store and check out their selection to find what your looking for - they're pretty good at that sort of thing.

all you are reading this, but noones responding. do you just not have any thoughts?

hard to believe...

quote:
How would that affect cancer rates. The only conclusion I would come to is a pole shift can dramatically chance weather and climate patterns.

there are 'holes' in the magnetic field at the north and south poles - hence the Aurora that appear there. Anyways, they say that when the magnetic poles shift they will cause more of these 'holes' to appear before the poles reach their final destination - resulting in more radiation reaching the planet and higher cancer rates.
here's the website:

oh didn't you hear the newest? my bf was watching Nova today, and they were talking about the magnetic field of the earth reversing itself (south becomes magnetic north and vice versa). This would cause things like higher cancer rates and such, but is considered a pole shift - which is what Nibiru was supposed to do.

*gasp*
maybe THAT is what planet X really is!!! a magnetic pole-shift!!!
*faints*

Welcome to Magic! / Spells?
May 08, 2004, 15:36:59
OOC mazdaaf - why do you 'suggest against' witchcraft?

and TriCelt - spells are not done to be 'cool' they actually need a purpose. try being more specific, you may get a better response.
#32
no prob.

Basically the direct meanings are based on the deck you used.
however they do work generally.
here's what i got:

1: Spiritual Aspect: Star - Hope and faith. the blending together of your past spirituality and your current beliefs. mastering the occult arts and an awareness of the physical world as well as the 'spiritual' (or astral)
2: Physical Apsect: 2 of Wands- (called 'watch and wait') waiting to see if what you have planed has happened. creativity, good things coming, fulfilment.
3: Over All Aspect: Temperance (rev) - Too much caution tempered with too much competitiveness. misunderstanding others.

Basically i'm getting that Spiritually you are prepared to Astrally Project, however your physical body is not yet ready for it, and you're getting impatient because "everyone else can do it." the suggestion being given is to hold back, wait until your body catches up with the rest of you before you try to go too far.

helpful?
#34
my only issue is that ... well.
you can't reincarnate into a body that is already here...

more details would be nice - such as was the second reincarnation taking place just as the first ended or did the two bodies live far apart?
#35
Well i'm not a shaman (now..however i think i was one or something like it in a past life....) and if you don't want my opinon, obviously feel free to disregard it.

anyways, this is what i am thinking:
quote:
Now my dilemma: I am currently in a relationship with a woman, and I am about to graduate from college. We are planning on trying out a long-distance relationship after college.

In general, long distance relationships are strained at best because the two people involved see more of other people than eachother and they become distanced. Basically they are having life experiences that their S.O. (sig. other) is not a part of, and they simply grow apart.

quote:
We went out for a total of more than two years before we broke up. The reason was that we were too far apart and that we both thought it would be best if we dated other people and had more experience, being so young.

wise, but possibly heart-wrenching choice.

quote:
Last night I had a dream about her, and this is what bothers me. In the dream was a familiar sensation I was feeling in my heart chakra, like my energy was flowing to her through a hose that was six inches in diameter. I never actually saw her in the dream, or I did not recognize her.

if you didn't see her, or recognize her, how did you know it was her? did you just "know" or was it something else?

quote:
The sensation I felt can best be described as great sadness mixed with great joy, but it is strangely unique and pertains only to her.

not to be morbid, but the first thing i thought of when i read this was that maybe something terminal happens to her - some illness or accident. Then i thought about it some more and thought that it may just be something bad happens and she survives it (accident or such). Either way, i'm not 100% since i have no contact with either of you, however it is strong enough inkle when i read what you wrote for me to pay attention.

quote:
I do not know what a soul mate is, but I have tendencies towards her, even though we really don't talk that much anymore. What I feel from her is not like anything I have ever felt from any other person.

Soul mates (GENERALLY) tend to be a spiritual partner. Someone who you have been with life after life in some way that help you or compliment you. Another way to think of it is that "destiny brings you together each and every lifetime" blah blah. I am not sure i believe in soul mates, but then again i could be wrong.

quote:
I do not think my first love understands what I understand about spirituality. Though I trust her with my life, I would not be able to explain it to her.

this current love or the one from H.S.? If you cannot explain it to them, or talk to them about it, then they are not good for you. there should (in an ideal world) be no secrets between you and your love. they should (in some way) feel like an extention of yourself. not to be cheesy, but "two pieces of the same whole" comes to mind...you can't keep secrets from yourself, the same should go for your love.

quote:
I suppose what I am asking is, would it be possible for a shaman to help me figure out what her and I are?

Without a more indepth knowledge of the situation, you and her a lovers. Time will tell the truth to you when more developes, but until you have tested the boundries of distance you can't know for sure. My suggestion is to stay together, try to keep the love alive. If, in the end, it fizzles, and you did all you could to keep it, then don't worry. It's kinda like fate saying "this person isn't for you."
If, however, you manage to somehow stay together over the distance, and you both TRULY love eachother (and its not one of those 'arm-candy' relationships) then take it as a sign. There is something between you two that should be cultivated.

then again, this time around i'm not a shaman, so my opinion may mean nothing to you. good luck.

alrighty then:
Here are all the questions i find in your post:
  1. First, I wonder what age Moonbeam is
  2. Any ejaculation is a loss of energy. Which would be the subject of my topic... (lots of explaination) ...What does anyone else think?

now see, that makes it seem like you're asking for other's opinions. and then you go and "duh" everyone. the only problem with the 'duh' statement is that it was included in the paragraph directed at me, and so i took it as being directed at me...which anyone else would have done. you need to learn to seperate paragraphs.

quote:
i see one question only...but i don't have the answer for that question
which question IS that exactly? it's obviously not "is semen and ejaculation the dispelling or losing of energy?" becuase you already have that answer, so whatever could you be asking? [/sarcasm]

and i don't see how impatience has anything to do with it.

Fallnangel:
You said:
quote:
But my point is, if two people are going to practice energy exchanges during sex then there is much more that can be aimed for than just exchanging during ejaculation.

i understand what you are saying, but the point i was trying to make is that i was commenting on this:
quote:
For me, I don't feel so much that I should lose energy if I ejaculate, nor do I feel it neccessary for me to atone for aeons of untold sin and become celibate

In which case what i say should really have nothing to do with taoist techniques or multi-orgasming, although they both have many practical purposes when having sex other than for procreation - however it was my understanding that this topic was about ejaculating and energyloss not orgasming and energyloss.

and Shadowdancer:
you said;
quote:
As I originally stated, my view is different Silversunset. My experience has been that it is the ejaculation that, when performed, creates a level of unpreventable energy loss. My rationalization for this statement is that we live in a universe made up of prakriti, the stuff of maya; .....

i'm confused. if you already know the 100% answer then why bother to  ask for opinions??? seems kinda redundant to me.
quote:
I feel like saying "duh". And so I have.

ego boost anyone?
#38
quote:
You do have a good idea, but if you would study Taoist Techniques you would understand that much more is possible

IF i would study???
who says i haven't? i was commenting on the topic of EJACULATION not orgasming.

Good boy.[;)]

quote:
For me, I don't feel so much that I should lose energy if I ejaculate, nor do I feel it neccessary for me to atone for aeons of untold sin and become celibate

My thought is this:
assuming that you have a partner (i.e. not masturbating) then why couldn't you just 'trade'??? Basically the energy released by one is absorbed by the other. Obviously this would only work if both parties were in tuned to what was going on, but there is so much sex-related energy being wasted on people who have no idea how to tap into it. This way, you can ejaculate all your little penis desires and still be 'energized' afterwards.

He's afraid of me.
I bite.

what he is saying makes sense though. the 'white light' method does not always work. Intent and deterrants are good and all, but it often times simply comes down to willpower and knowledge. If you don't know what's going on until it's too late, the 'white light' will do damn near nothing to help. Likewise, if the leeching entity is stronger than you are, or more versed in the ways of leeching than you are in holding it in, then guess what - you loose.

quote:
If you have not been already been told this then you should consider my humble words.

Doesn't SOMEONE have personal issues....

and you guys have so strayed from the topic - c'mon. info was requested and now you're turning it into a "i'm right and you're not" argument.

Welcome to Magic! / Tools for evocation
April 15, 2004, 21:28:24
quote:
but will the objects I choose Work? Or does it have to be the ones
that The books call for?

Magick is like a recipe. However it is easier to finagle with than if you were cooking. if you have A) athame, B) goblet, C) candles, etc. than you can do most any spell you want. The specific shape, color, design, and material of each is hardly relevant.

As a practitioner you should use what is comfortable to YOU. Not what is comfortable to some old cronie guy 500 years ago.

You can do magick with or without tools. You can do the same spells and evocations with or without tools. Tools are simply that...TOOLS. they are to aid, they are not the main ingredients in your 'recipe'...so you use vegetable oil and not olive oil....whoopdeedoo. THe main idea is that the tools are there to help you - don't get hung up over what you have or don't have.

If a simple stick feels comfortable to you, use it. If a glass from your dish cabinet and a steak knife feel comfortable, use them. It has been my experience that the more elaborate items are simply for show....and if you're doing it for you, there is no need for show simply for outcome.

Granted, it is nice to have a 'special' set of tools to use specifically for magick, however think back. Those who originally practiced had no place for such things as they were outlawed or dangerous (i.e. witch-crazes) and probably didn't happen. THey were most likely poor people who just wanted to commune with nature and found that they could DO things.
Basically it's like a church (not to bash...sorry if i offend). You don't NEED the gold/silver goblets for the communion supper, and you don't NEED the silver/gold plates or candlesticks, or elaborate clothing, or chapel, or anything like that. It simply does not matter. Elaborate = show and is not mandatory.

Trust yourself, you'll do the best thing.

Welcome to Magic! / good spirits...???
April 15, 2004, 21:21:13
probably not relevant, but a good book for those into wicca is "Drawing down the moon"
probably not helpful to you though...i just make up my own stuff to 'evoke' spirits, and generally it works very well.

yes they do

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Entity Identification
April 09, 2004, 09:11:06
ok, so when i said it's not a spirit guide i meant in the traditional way they are thought of. obviously she is guiding me, but i was hoping maybe there was someone who knew what she was...you can be a guide and be something else at the same time - it's like a job. a Lifeguard or Nurse or Police Officer is not a species of human..it is just something we do. i was hoping to find out what she was, not what she did.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Entity Identification
April 08, 2004, 16:53:26
quote:
1) Shamanic spirit from previous lifetime.

MOONIE I TOLD YOU SO!

sorry, we had this conversation the other night about past lives and such - and one of the people in the group i deal with said that she thought i had some sort of shamanic pastlife energy within me and around me. this only confirms that one of my most recent dreams (about that topic) is atleast MOST LIKELY a past life coming through and makes me feel more comfortable with stuff.

anyways, on to the important stuff:

quote:
d. spirit guide- this is a very vague term- i've never been sure what this means. maybe silver could answer this one.

I have spoken to people who deal mainly with spirit guides - they are postive that this entity is NOT a spirit guide because of the way it manifests and behaves.

quote:
2) Ghost/Shade
It is not a ghost - atleast not one that was living. I am able to "see" ghosts - provided that they were living at one time such as humans and animals - and ghosts only affect me in specific ways, this entity does not. Basically that means (in fun me terms):
Ghost = A
I = B
Entity = C
A + B = APPLES
A + C = ORANGES

quote:
3) a simple spirit who simply was lonely and wants some company.

possible, but unlikely. from what i can tell this entity has been with me through many past lives - i did squeeze that bit of information out of her the other night.

She is lightening up a bit about what she'll tell me about herself but the main message i got was: she cannot tell me directly what / who she is because that would defeat the purpose. I am supposed to research, learn, inquire, and discover who and what she by any means necesary, just without her help - apparently this is some 'lesson' i'm supposed to learn or something, and is supposed to help me "learn to re-aquire and use the abilities gained in past lives"

NeverKnowsEnough: I have no idea what you're talking about....sorry i can't really comment on it.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Entity Identification
April 07, 2004, 18:03:54
ok, so it is NOT (for sure):
  • some sort of demon
  • Parasite
  • Shape-Shifter
  • Spirit Guide
  • Some sort of angelic being
  • familiar
  • my imagination

i was talking to "Crew" last night (group of friends who do this stuff on a daily basis) and one of them had brought up the fact that my ability to see 'water people' and 'dead people' was an interesting combination and she was able to do a type of ... i dunno exactly what it's called. she does this thing and gets impressions of you and your abilities and past lives and then comes up with where you may have first gotten the ability. The fun part is that one of the things she said was identical (no, not similar...it was dead on) to one of the recurring dreams i've been having lately.

also, I am not saying that because this entity is in my dreams then they MUST be past life dreams, but i'm not saying that's not true either. I don't often have recurring dreams, and when i do they either tell me something that is going to happen or something that has happened that i was unaware of - so i have learned to pay attention to a dream i have more than 4 times and can remember clearly. helpful?
