BeHappy: Thanks! My voice lessons are finally paying off. :)

Lionheart,

Thanks for your compliment. I'm glad that your are doing retrievals. It's a very under-appreciated (almost unknown) act in this plane, but very appreciated There. I hope you have many great adventures and validations. At least in my experience, they never get boring.

For those of you familiar with the idea of retrievals (rescuing recently deceased people), I wrote a song about this topic a few months ago.
I re-sang it a couple of days ago with my new, improved voice.
It's on the top of the playlist, "Retrieve Me"

Thanks for listening and if you like it, download it for free (down arrow box).

I made a fractal video to this song.
If only I could make a video that visually represented the core ideas...

A few years back, while reaching the higher planes in an OBE, I heard a song chorus sung by what sounded like several people. The concept was/is foreign to me, but the tune is catchy. I've been singing it over and over again in real life, so much so, that my 4 yr old son started singing it too. I figured this must be a sign to put it out there.

Distinguishing between earthbound spirits (the deceased) and spirits of living people is not easy. There's no hard and fast rules.

In my experience, living people's spirits seem to be a little brighter in color and more active. Deceased energies can be a bit more dazed or lost in thought. My litmus test is that deceased spirits in the astral tend to have "bad breath." but I've only known one other explorer to confirm this aspect.

Time travelling has got to be one of the most intriguing things you can do in the astral or higher planes.
I highly recommend it. Yes, the future is nebulous, perhaps it hasn't been completely determined. But the
previews/trailers (the movie is never quite like them) are amazing.
Flying cars. Creation of universes in a lab. Routine travel to Mars. I've even seen/felt what it's like to
be an ascended soul.

Ok - it's a bit out of context, but,

Pencils/pens = "vertical cylinders"    8-)

Talanay: thanks for the experiment.

My experiments and subsequent "validations" from 2005 are posted here:

TalaNay: I didn't make it to your room in my projection last night, but I was thinking about
your experiment and noticed a light blue object on my brother's dresser. It had five connected vertical
open cylinders and little symbols of animals on it. It almost seem to sparkle as though it were made
from glass.

I have projected on an airplane twice.
The first time, I remember being able to hear different people's
thoughts as I hovered over different people on the plane.
The second time, I remember feeling this very strong constant pulling
sensation. Maybe it was my silver cord holding on for dear life as
my body was moving forward at high velocity?

Domos,

Two days after your visit with Bob, I met up with him. I actually asked to visit him.
I don't know what spurred me to do so. This was not my first visit, but the first with clear
audio and visual. He looked very similar to your impression. How
come he didn't introduce me to Laurie? ;) Congrats on the Laurie sighting! As you know,
she passed away a few months ago.

James,

When I used to go looking for my HS, what I would get were visuals of colors and simple melody music where the lyrics would contain many instances of the word "Love." And, some feelings of euphoria. No human forms. I've since learned there are many layers of consciousness between my HS and physical me. Enough to keep me busy exploring for years to come.

The reason there are so many conflicting
sources about where we go when we die,
is because we go many places - each body has
its own resting place/plane. Different
authors emphasize one place over the other.

If you are projector, set your intent on meeting
your target the night before as you are falling asleep.
Then when you become lucid, be very firm about
who you want to meet.

If you can meditate, clear your mind first. Then
imagine you are having a conversation with him.
Don't worry if the whole exchange seems made up.
Sometimes, information will come out that can
verified. For example, when it comes to meeting
people who were famous, there is a lot
of data on the Internet to compare your information
against.

Good luck.

I used to LD since I was a child. I didn't realize until about 6 years ago,
that there was even such a thing as AP or OBE's. Before this, I just assumed
dreams were all in the mind. I think most people do.

It's only when I read books about OBE'ing that I realized LD's may include more than just *my* imagination,
they're made by *everyone's* imagination - everyone alive and a lot of deceased people, too.

It's actually a bit difficult to prove that more than one mind makes up one's dreams. Subjectively,
you begin to see things in LD's or AP's that you couldn't have possibly dreamt of.
But to get objective evidence, it takes lots of experiments and a little luck. I have done many
experiments visiting people in the astral and proven to myself, that I obtained the data not
from my imagination but theirs!

So, I consider myself lucky, to know a little secret, that when you LD, you explore not only your own mind,
but everyone else's, too.

 To answer the original thread:

I don't think it's that obvious what projecting leads to, early on. I spent about a year, just exploring for exploring's sake. Perhaps, occasionally I would look to ask questions to guides, or maybe I would try to look for friends and family that had crossed over.
Then, I discovered, thanks to the writings of Bruce Moen, all the really cool things you could out There - including helping the recently deceased move to higher vibration planes (aka retrievals) For the last few years, I've really been into helping out with retrievals.
In the last year or so, I've been pushing myself beyond the astral to the next higher plane sometimes referred to as the mental plane. Here, there are lots of knowledgeable people, and the experiences are very enjoyable.
I am concerned that someday I might become bored of this "hobby" But, I haven't yet. As long there new things to discover...

The different types of "projecting" I describe are my own views not Mr. Bruce's. His
MAP talks about a lot of different energy bodies, though.

Notice, I call it "in-the-body." Now that I think of it, "in-the-body" vision can lead
to RTZ vision, where I see my bedroom with closed eyes. It can also lead to an astral or mental experience where the field of view starts small and expands into a full immersive experience. I'm not sure where RV'ing fits in...

I think that Astral Projection was the only terminology available to describe both OBE and astral experiences until
people came up with terms like "out-of-body" and "real-time zone". I don't know about the word "etheric body"
Anyways, it's a traditional usage to mean all of these things.
But now that we do have some more specific terms we can be a little more descriptive. In Mr. Bruce's latest tome,
which I started reading out of curiosity, he describes many different bodies and projections.

In my view, there's at least an in-the-body RTZ state (seeing thru closed eyelids), and out-of-the body RTZ state, a pseudo-OBE
state where I think I'm going OBE, but I'm not even in my physical bedroom (really probably astral), and the astral state.
Then there's hybrids like dual-awareness states and self-perception states (like seeing yourself as a mirror image)

Ok, now with all these classifications, I would tell a beginner, if you can achieve any one of these states, then you can achieve any other. So I might make use a lump-together term like "projecting." to describe it all.

Synergy: BTW, I perceive energy bodies as concentric but in opposite order. Astral within Etheric, Mental within astral, etc. For example, when I try to project to the mental plane, sometimes I feel myself peeling my astral body off. Also, I think it's Buhlman who talks about commanding himself to go inward and finding himself in a higher vibrational plane.

You will not find your HS in the astral.
It is hard to find guidance of any sort in the astral plane.
That's the bad news...

The good news. The plane "above" or of a higher vibration,
known by many names: F27, mental plane, devachanic
plane, love plane - is a great place to meet guidance.

But, to get there, ironically you have to suspend depression
for a moment. You can't get there directly from the astral,
you have to "teleport" there by a change in emotions.

This is useful even in a meditative state for finding your HS:

Fill love up in your heart. Think of something or someone
that brings you joy. Focus on it for awhile and allow
that energy to spread throughout your body. It is a respite
from the density & sadness of the earth plane, and it
is the only way out of the astral, that I know of.

When I look back to see my body, I often just seen an
indentation in the bed as though my body were transparent.
But If I try to feel what's there in bed,
there's something solid and can cause the split-mind
effect as my body wonders what just touched it.

Oops, wrong word on this forum :)
When I said I'm "out", I meant to say I'm "asleep".

Draege,

Yep. A good sleep technique for me is to meditate for 30-45 mins. Then, I just turn over on my side and stop meditating. Then, I'm out in 10 minutes.
Sometimes this procedure pays off as it is followed by an AP/LD in the morning.

Gandalf,

Thanks for sharing your F27 adventure.

That woman you met at the end - sounds a lot like
a retrieval - but since you were already in F27 -
perhaps she was just brought there and you greeted
her.

I long for more F27 adventures. I can understand
your friend's admonition of getting back to work here,
the tip of the mental plane can be intoxicating.

I, too, have had a "homecoming" F27 experience,
where I met people which I apparently "knew"

While you are in F27, there's a lot you can explore,
it is infinitely bigger than the Park.
Bruce Moen's books talk at length about some of what goes on there.
He attended Exploration 27 workshops at TMI.
Probably the most significant part for me has been the
opportunity to meet with my guides.
