Quote from: TomWhat do you plan on having in the next life that you do not have in this one?

Well, if I had a conscious choice, (and i do) it would be a purpose and fulfillment from very early in life.  Rather than selfishly and worthlessly squandering it on myself. Yes, i can begin now and work toward that goal, but my goals are still very vague and unsatisfying. I'm working on changing that, but it's slow going.

This is a topic i'm trying to learn more about. Is it true that God Consciousness starts at the smallest conceivable level and slowly ascends through the mineral, plant, animal, human, spiritual world, and then to who knows where?

Can people after they die choose to return as an animal? I heard that this was done sometimes in the cases of dolphins and whales when a soul wanted a break from human incarnation. Can it happen with any animal though? Do animals reincarnate in a similar way as humans?

I've heard conflicting information on this topic and wanted to put it out on the table for more knowledgable persons to help answer it.

Quote from: dataSpirituality does not pay my bills

I am entangled in a spiritual and physical dilemma which can be summed up as: I have no idea what to do with my life and honestly question just how long before the current reality we are living in as a global society is pulled from under our feet. I know, I have a role to play in the drama that is unfolding, but I just don't know what role that is. I sometimes fear that perhaps this life will be a missed opportunity. I try my best to be optimistic, but I just don't see any opportunity and to make matter worse, I lack the zeal to want to do anything. There is just no drive. It seems I am just waiting for it to be all over. But what a waste that would be. All those talents and skills I have. All that intelligence - wasted!

That's scary. My own life has mirrored yours in many ways! I'm 32 and have no idea what i am supposed to be doing or should have done. I have profound interest in metaphysics and spiritual magic, and i like writing, when blocks and depression don't stomp me into the ground. I've tried therapists with limited results, usually the "waste of money" result. I even went to film school for a year and decided early on that i disliked the field, although i still want to write screenplays.

I'm a smart person with great talents and potential, i just don't know how to best utilize them. I pray and pray for Divine PRovidence to show me what to do, what He wants me to do, how to serve Him and others, but to no avail. It is all very discouraging.

I'm not suicidal or anything (not anymore) and i'm not on any meds, I just can't get motivated in this life to accomplish anything. I'm also of the mindset of this is just a wasted life until i reincarnate again. And that really pisses me off because it can't be true.

Hmm. I recently joined the Rosicrucian AMORC out of San Jose. I've read some of their materials that they send in the mail, and it's a 3 month membership unless you renew it. I'm not too keen on renewing it, i just wanted to see what the Rosicrucians were like. Now, the people i've met are very very nice. I can talk to them about spiritual issues and not get looked at like a whackjob.  I agree with their doctrine thus far, but it's nothing i haven't heard and read and studied before from other sources.

They claimed that there were many "false" rosicrucian orders and that only the AMORC branch was the true one. I certainly don't have a problem with it, it does offer some structure that i was looking for, but i don't know if i will stay with it.

One fella was very adamant that i shouldn't study or practice Bardon magic, which on a theoretical level holds more appeal to me than rosicrucianism.

Interesting article. I'm not one to say whether Christ actually lived or not. I'm inclined to say yes, but i feel that he was just a wonderful, masterful teacher, guru, etc. There have been others as good as or better than him, but unknown. I was raised Christian myself but have since weaned off it. There are many wonderful strengths to christianity though. It exemplifies how to best love thy neighbor unconditionally, and if mankind were to truly adhere to many of its tenets they would be happier. Sadly that's not the case, and the Bible itself is full of selective material and vagueness.

I also don't feel that the bible gives an accurate account of what happens to men and women after death. I've had to do a lot of searching to understand that aspect of life.

I'll agree with that too. Magic is neither good nor evil, and in higher spheres of universal consciousness (from what i understand) there is no concept of good or evil. There simply IS.

How we humans use magic also abides by the laws of cause and effect. If you use it to help and heal, you will draw health and healing to yourself. Harming another will likewise cause you to experience the harm you inflicted, not as punishment, but just adhering to universal law.

I agree with Seven on his description of magic. Everything that Robert Bruce advocates is a form of magic. He doesn't summon spirits into a pentagram and triangle, but that's another form of magic too.

I've even heard it expressed (and i like this) that anything that manipulates energy is a form of magic. Using your voice and words to influence the feelings and emotions of others is magic, and that is often a tragic human condition that we believe what others tell us about ourselves.

Well, i'll offer what i can to the discussion but it's a little out of my element, experentially anyway. I've never created a conscious thoughtform as Gandalf suggests, but i've studied the theory and mechanics behind it.

First off, Franz Bardon speaks extensively of thougthform creation in IIH. It can be done by yourself, and his books go deeply into the metaphysical reasons of how what you are doing works, and why. I think that aspect is of utmost importance. It is possible for an inexperienced magician to manifest his imagination and manipulate the elements and not really know what happened, other than that it worked.

He also speaks of group creation that creates larger, longer laster forms, and these are often incapsulated in physical vessels. A golem would be a typical example. I suppose it all hinges on the experience of the practicitioners.

Setting a "death" for the thoughtform is also considered of vital importance by Bardon. Thoughtforms can grow and gain sentience and try eventually to break from the will of the caster. All sorts of bad things can come from this, as well as if a wizards dies and this creations have free reign. They can become vampires and ghosts and other sorts of spiritual beings i don't even know how to classify.

As for spiritual wealth, this seems to be a very common goal of magic work. I don't think it's wrong if done for the right reasons, such as for the Higher Good, your Higher Self, etc. Creating wealth for personal abuse and misuse would probably be a bad thing, or might not work at all. After all everything is energy, and i believe that one of your goals in this existense is to learn to manifest our desires.

Hah! I don't know to think if that's sacrilege or good-natured poking fun at religion.  I wonder what Jesus thinks? Probably doesn't care too much, or maybe he's getting a chuckle over modern consumerism.

Most people are generally scared or at least squeamish of spiders and snakes. Maybe that's why they manifest as "astral terrors." If you have the majority of humanity feeling similar about one creature, that would make sense. You don't see astral puppies haunting anyone.

I myself am totally terrified of cockroaches. I caught a runaway lizard in my house the other day, and i've caught mice, and picked up dead racoons out of my driveway, but i won't come within ten feet of a frickin cockroach. I've an awful suspicion that if i ever turn over an astral rock it won't be a spider or snake under there.

I haven't seen this movie yet but would like to. I've heard pretty good things about it.

It's nice to know that scientists and physicists are quickly catching up to the oldest Initiatic Sciences and confirming them on subatomic levels. I've read other books such as Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe where they've proven to themselves that there are many, many hidden dimensions within our physical one, and it's all basically one big illusion of vibrating energy.

From my own experience religion was a tough pill to swallow when i was a kid. I'm glad my mother and father exposed me to it later on, as it opened doors to other ways of thinking, but...well, my ideas of religion have changed over the years to a preferred approach to spirituality and metaphysics. That's where i found answers.

On the other hand, i have heard of children with profound religious and spiritual experiences from a very young age. Stories about reincarnated Buddahs are quite fascinating.

Don't be too hard on yourself, Uni. The point is that you have profound questions about the Universe that you seek answers to, and they aren't easy answers to find or understand. I took a look at your first document. In only my opinion of course, it has some interesting ideas, but it is rather brief. There's a book available now on Astral Pulse called Our Ultimate Reality which is sort of a summary of a lot of metaphysical concepts. It's about 600 pages, and very interesting. It's not new ideas persay, but old ones collected into one place with the author's spin.

From my understanding Divine Providence doesn't even see the universe in terms of good and evil, no more than you would see your foot as good or evil. It just IS, and you experience it as that.  You're right, there are many shades to the issue that many people don't understand and others who use propaganda to their advantage.

Thanks, CaCo. I'm always amused by the concept of a "friendly" demon. :) Goes against what we're taught i suppose.

Quote from: SethdoodI'd just like to say that nothing exists outside of the physical and beyond the reaches of [future] science. It is my belief at least that all these realms percieved as spiritual are just different parts of the one reality, and the difference is the frequency of the vibration.

This seems like a little contradiction, Sethdood. You said there's nothing outside the physical, followed by saying that spiritual realms are really manifestions of the One All, or God, or whatever.

Quote
But to stay on topic, becuase of frequency of vibration it is safe to assume that there are "realms" or "dimensions" lower then the physical. I believe, however, that human travel to them is unlikley. We are evolutionary beings of progression, and the idea that we may lower our vibrational level for some sort of gain is rediculous. There would be no natural mechansim to "regress" becuase we would have never evolved to have it, becuase we only evolve to have abilities which assist our survival in some way. A baseball team trying to win the world series wouldn't spend time practicing how to suck.

Let me try to explain a little bit from my own understanding of these matters. My opinion of course. The terms higher and lower and faster and slower vibrations can get confusing sometimes, especially considering the illusory nature of physical reality. Meaning that physical life IS physical, but it is not as solid as it looks. On a subatomic level everything is in motion, everything is changing, and everything is born, lives, dies and is born again. All particles have consciousness at the smallest level, the Monads, and everything IS the One All, just at varying degrees of awareness.

The physical level is "lowest" in that it is heavy, with weight and dimension.  There is no level that is "lower" or "heavier" or "more" of an illusion to the perception of our Higher Selves. That said, it is possible for knowledgeable persons to effectively "become" one of their constituent simpler elements, whether Air, Earth, Fire or Water, but this takes place on a spiritual level, not physical.

Interestingly enough, a keen imagination is at the core of all magical practice. It's easy to think that anything "weird' is just all made up hooplah anyway. That's the standard explantion in western society anyway, quickly followed by "it's work of the Devil." Not to say that such archdevils don't exist. Anyway, an interesting follow-up to the importance of imagination is that we and all of existense are effectively the "imagination" of Divine Providence, turned inside-out to experience Himself in a way that makes sense to an Infinite and Incomprehensible Intelligence: by purposefully forgetting what It is (Us) and remembering it all over again for the first time, through us. Which is what many people on these boards enjoy doing, pushing the envelope of reality.

Hi knucklebrain, sorry to hear you're so blue. I've been in a similar boat with meds for years, but was able to quit when i started acupunture and chiropracty. The idea is to get your energy field balanced through the meridians, and the movement of energy up the spine to the brain. It's not something you would have to do all the time, definitely more at first and then taper off, but you should (hopefully) be able to get off the meds.

That stuff is poison. It's killing humanity one small pill at a time. Really, search out alternative therapists in your area. And what's more, take a RISK. Quit your job. Get out in the sunshine. Walk with your bare feet in the grass and feel the earth under your toes. Sing. Even if you don't like it, learn to sing. Play an instrument, or learn how. These are some tips that have helped me somewhat. Anything is better than being on the anti-depressant pill-a-thon.

Thought i would bump up this old thread. I never did order it, but maybe someone has seen it. Sounds interesting, regardless, not that I would trust it.

Frere, what sort of energy development have you practiced? Do you or any family members have a history of magic and/or occult work? i'm not sure of what is happening to you, but it does sound like you have attracted an unwanted astral entity. As to how and why i don't know, but there ARE means to be rid of it permanently.  This other woman you speak of, would she have any reason or inclination to seek harm toward you?

Nita, regarding your reply above and the spell you suggest to banish gossip: how effective would it be in the hands of someone who has never tried it before? Would it be completely ineffectual for a non-believer in magic (my guess is yes). Would repitition of the mantra over time increase its effectiveness? Would active use of the laws of analogy strengthen the spell, such having an item tied to the gossip in question?  Lastly, what is the nature of that spell, meaning, did you learn it from another source or find through your own experience and intuition that it was effective?

Lordy, that was a lot of questions. Hope you don't mind!

Hey, that was great. Evolution in the works.

Welcome to Magic! / request

Kris, i can't tell you how to do that because i don't know. In generic fantasy terms causing "fear" in an enemy is a simple low level spell. In real world magic, using your energy to cause that reaction in someone else will have a more powerful, detrimental backlash upon yourself. Yes, i believe it can be done, with a word or thought if one knows the right ritual and has the willpower and experience, but the effort is not ultimately worth it and can lead down a dangerous path. One day you might want to kill someone with a word or glance, and then you'll really be in trouble.

Welcome to Dreams! / Um, I was a vampire?
February 04, 2005, 15:04:18
Franz Bardon talks about vampires in one his books (the 2nd one i think, on Evocation). His explanation is that they have been sorcerers at one time or another who have tried to extend their mortal life thru magic. It doesn't work very well, this tactic, and they become incorporeal entities that have to siphon life-energy from the living. He describes them as wretched, pathetic beings, although fairly rare.

Ah, a sighting in India, I see. I very much believe in UFO's although i've never seen one. I don't think you're hallucinating, and i have my share of conspiracy theories concerning aliens too. Heck, i don't even tell most people my opinons on human genetic origins because it's pretty out there. I'm not sure of the overall picture regarding humans and other species. Some i'm sure are here for our growth, others are just nosy or disprutive and should have no part in human evolution, or might be actively trying to stunt it.

Quote from: Rastus
So what do my guides do for me?  They answer questions when I have them (be careful what you ask for, you may really have not wanted to know).  They teach me things I wish to learn.  They teach me things I need to learn.  They help me with my energy body work.  They nudge me when I overlook things I'm supposed to see.  They LOVE me unconditionally, and I them.

If it's not too personal, Rastus, can you provide some examples? I'm curious as to some of the details. I haven't contacted my own guides yet, it is something i yearn to achieve.
