I guess that could be a possibility. However, this hasn't been going on for a years or anything like that. More like a good month or two. You still think I may have developed one?

I can't remember the last time I slept without waking up every couple  hours. Ever since I've had my first few projections, I have been waking up  several times during the night - feeling disoriented. Usually its after/during a dream and I will awaken to feel my body numb and slightly vibrating. I actually have to shake my hands to get feeling back. This happened again last night, about four times. It is starting to get me truly annoyed. I'm pretty sure I am missing the exit and only aware of the re-entry. OR could it be the other way around?? I want to be able to leave my body but it seems like everytime I attempt to, I become conscious right when my astral body slips back in. Any advice on what I can do?

The night before my second conscious OBE I remember asking something similar. I was saying to myself: Goodness! Show me please! Show me the steps I need to take to have conscious OBEs! Is there anyone there willing to help? Spirit guides? An angel gaurdian? My Subconscious mind? Whos gonna show me what steps I need to take?

Then I just decided "whatever" - let me try affirming to myself and see if it even works. Next thing you know.. I fall asleep and wake up finding my astral body trying to get out. I wonder if it was actually a guide or just the affirmations itself. Whatever it was.. it worked!

Welcome to Dreams! / Snakes in a dream

Hmm...since were talking about snakes... I once had a dream that I was a snake and I was looking for love - which I found. What would actually BEING A SNAKE possibly mean?

The other day I awoke and felt as if some being was lying right next to me. It started to touch me and I started to freak out a bit. Then i got the vibrations however at the moment I did not exactly know what was going on. I finally was able to move and turned the other way and went back to sleep. I did not think it had anything to do with OBEs. What i dont understand is why the feeling that someone is next to you is a "symptom" of out of body experiences. Is there actually something there or not?

Thats interesting. Just last night I had a flying dream and I awoke to feel my astral body sneakily come back in my physical body. All i was thinking was how slick my astral body was (or subconscious mind?) - To go out and about.. make me think it was a dream and then just slip back in me like I wouldn't notice a thing. HA! God knows how many times this has happened without me consciously knowing what was going on.. Hopefully, this won't be happening much more.

Before I ever had any OBE's I never realized who I truly was. I looked in the mirror and what I thought I saw was me. After having four in one week my outlook on life has drastically changed. Now, when I look in the mirror I know that what I am looking at is simply a body holding me. Not only holding me - but everyone else that exists. (A song by Tool perfectly describes my thoughts). This has helped me become MUCH LESS judgemental towards people because I am able to see that their is a soul inside of them that is their true self, not their physical body. For the first time, I actually feel as if I am looking on the inside rather than the outside.  I feel extremely grateful to simply have a body that I can use as my tool to live this life:  To help people,  to play music, to make art, to embrace, to do so many things that when your dead- you can't really do (at least I don't think so..). All these little things, I used to take for granted. Besides this, everything I have done to induce OBE's (meditation, etc.) and OBEs itself has helped me become a much more relaxed person. For instance, rather than letting anger get control of me (like so many people do) - I am able to stand aside and realize that it is time to learn to not respond with such an emotion. It really is silly. Anyway, I guess in a way.. OBE's have "saved me".... :)

Welcome to Astral Chat! / UNDER 18 AP goers

I am currently 15 and have been interested in OBE's for about 8 months. I have had 3 conscious OBEs in the past 7 days. I am looking foward to the, hopefully, many out of body experiences to come.

Welcome to Dreams! / Similar Dreams?
March 10, 2005, 16:07:58
I was having a discussion with my friend today and she happened to have two dreams in the past two weeks that were quite similar. For instance, I had a dream she liked this guy at our school and was all over him, but he did not want to be with her. Her dream was like mine- she was all over him and he did not want to be with her. Then the next week I have a dream that I am with a guy friend- Ian- and that same night she has the same dream - but that she dating Ian. I really dont know what this means or how this is possible? Any insight? Its not like these two guys have done anything that would cause us to have dreams with them. I dont know when exactly she had these dream but I know for sure each dream she had I had in the same week. Most likely the same night.

Ah- its nice to hear that others get the same urge to just turn over and crash. Anyway, I have had a somewhat similar experience where I asked myself the same question- OBE or Lucid Dream? I had a dream where I remember laying down in my bed thinking "hey, why dont I try to project.." So.. I ended up doing just that. Then I recall jumping up and down as if I was on the moon and thinking over and over to myself- This is  awesome! I am soo going remembr this when I wake up!! Only thing is when I looked back at my bed my body was there.. Yep then I awoke wondering what is it I really experienced. --Yeah. So according to this thread.. it was most likely an obe? not just some.. dream about having one?

Melynna, When I talk back I they respond to me. I usually just accept what they tell me and dont take much consideration in what theyre saying. Almost the same thing happens when I wake up in the mornings with a thought in my head about something crazy (for instance, " dont forget to go to the field". Does this happen to you as well?

I have had a similar situation. A few nights ago while I was staying awake as I fell asleep.. I noticed that my breathing pattern changed from the usual in and out to little in and long out. It was more heavy. I don't know if this helps out much but Im sure many peoples breathing changes as they go to sleep.

This is strange. This voices that you hear- I hear them right before I actually fall asleep.. usually before I enter a dream I will start hearing voices talk to me and laughing. I usually talk back wondering what they are speaking of - since its mostly random stuff. I thought this happened before you drifted off to sleep - does it happen then as well? OR just around the time that your APing?

yeah the spasms/twitching happens to me. hypnosis tends to work great for me. Frank gave me a little trial of it.. where i can hear his voice while i lay down. it worked wonders. now i can go in a deep trance under a minute or two. i think his username is thehyponotist or sumthin of the sort.
