The hypnogogic state is something I've been working with a great deal lately.  The only thing I haven't tried, is the addition of an interupted sleep technique.  I will give this a go tonight.

I don't recall any distinct vibrations.  When trying to wake my body up, it was more of a struggle to regain waking consciousness than it was to move my body.

I would enjoy buzzing all day. haha =)

Awesome dude!  I had my first OBE about a week ago.  I don't think it was conscious exit, but I'm unsure.  (Lucid dream, then snap back to physical, and then a conscious sit up exit).  So, that is conscious-exit, I think.

Welcome to Dreams! / How is your memory?

I can definitely relate to that.  In fact, my dream mind sometimes goes far enough as to make up its own history.  For instance, I would have a confrontation with someone, and we would reminisce about old times, and there were things that I could remember about my dream self.  So, let me think of a good sentence for this description...  My dream-self (?) sometimes has a completely different life history, and can bring about very vivid flashbacks while "thinking" in the dreamworld.

If the Projector could give the following info for each locale: What was going through the mind?
That's the part that makes it appear a difficult task, is the everchanging environment.  As long as thoughts are controlled and properly applied, a rough map could take form.

I recommend "New Age Hypnosis" by Dr. Goldberg.

I was amazed at how the first exercise in the book instantly put me to sleep.  My mind was too tired to keep awake when I tried it.  But it involved going down 5 levels of a department store to ground level.  When you get there, you decide to stay in, while the rest of the passengers get out.  You descend into the basement... A moment after I said that, that was the last I remember before waking up (with a handful of dreams as usual).

But, this is 1 of I've estimated 20-50 exercises to record and try.  Some to even make future life progressions.  Once I get some recorded on tape or CD, they will work even better I hope.  (I've been reciting them in my head.)

I had a wonderful idea.  A long-term goal for me is to encounter Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7!  Wow that would be insane.

I could just turn the game on, put it on a key scene, pause it, exit, and slip right into the screen, and into my new reality.  How awesome... hehehe.

Sapien, that may be too many seperate forums.  Perhaps 1 is all that is necessary.  I think the poster should include before or within the title, the kind of product: Book, Magazine, CD, hardware, etc.

That is the coolest technique I've ever heard for sure.

Cool.  I live in Syracuse, NY as well.  Close to the Camillus area.

The only thing I've noticed in this area are the Zen classes you can take in the Valley.

#37
Jeff, about that ringing sound in the ears.  Can that actually be used for anything?

#38
The Russians know a lot about this.  KGB pouring billions of dollars into research regarding energy raising abilities to perform certain psychic abilities during the Cold War.  I have read a bit about this in "Remote Viewing" by Tim Rifat.  A book I'm going to pick up soon.

#39
Muzza, what sort of class was this?

#40
Hmmm.  Tisha might be able to clear this up for me if she sees it, but I was skimming the beginning of Carlos Casteneda's "The Teachings of don Juan" and diablero's were discussed.  A diablero is supposedly a man who can take the form of any animal.  However, they don't inhabit an existing animal's body.

I definitely consider my dream journal to be key in the role of increased dream recall and an increase in dream rate.  I too have at least 2 dreams per night, every night.  I usually do wake up after each 1, and build it into my brain as I sleep and wait for more.  In the morning, I lay awake for a few minutes, enjoying the mild vibrations as they fade away, and recall all that I can.  With a little fragment comes the rest of the dream as it had happened from start to finish.

Only thing is, I don't see how this could be easily used as a method to acquiring lucidity in a dream.  Is there something I missed, or could you explain further, please?  I want lucidity! =)

I was impatient with this at first, but reading books about this subject, and others related, gave me so much motivation, and 5 months later, I'm still vigorously attempting.

I recommend reading a couple books, get really interested, and then give it a shot at least a few times a week and see where that gets you.  People telling me "you need to do practice a LOT!" kind of turned me off at times, but going and hitting the books again just reinspired me each time that I will succeed.

Starting out slow with a good background of knowledge in this subject would be good advice for those lacking a little patience (like me and others).

May I add, I have grown very patient, following the advice given above.  And soon, patience will be thrown out the window and replaced by desire.  Anything is possible at that point.

I've been wondering if I could have a hypnotherapist assist me in astral projection.  Would they do that?

Numbers of celebrities and wealthy folk have booked trips to the moon.

As for the initial landing, I have no argument to prove it false or otherwise.

Focus 10=mind awake, body asleep.
and all the others are different states of consciousness.

R. A. Monroe used these Focus terms for breaking down the various states of consciousness.  Read his books or the site: www.monroe-inst.com for more info.

Reading today, I came across this excerpt from Robert Peterson's online book "Out of Body Experiences: How to have them and what to expect"

This is a relaxation technique for the face:
Next, relax your face completely. Here's one way to relax your face: With your eyes closed, stare deeper and deeper into the blackness, while very slowly tightening your eyebrows and rolling your eyes up slightly until your eyebrow muscles become tired. Then completely relax your facial muscles for about 15 seconds. Repeat the process again until your eyebrow muscles are tired again, and relax again for another 15 seconds. Repeat this process about six or seven times. Completely relax your whole body again and then try to make your mind blank and relaxed too. The vibrations may even come at this point, making the rest of the process unnecessary! After you're completely relaxed, pay no more attention to your body.

If you want to read the whole book (online and free!): http://www.robertpeterson.org/obebook.html

Goodluck.

Cainam: Exactly what I was going to say.

Patty, I read that account of a person who received a dissappointing reading.  I wouldn't base disbelief off of that.

Is it not possible for him to have an unsuccessful reading?  Does that account for all the amazing personal issues in families that he brings up?

One amazing thing he pointed out to a man in a gallery reading (off the top of my head, and true):

John talked about the two fingers of his deceased brother.  Turns out, that brother had been forced to leave two of his fingers behind in Las Vegas.  Something that, the man points out, only those two brothers knew about  (shared this with noone else). That is a summary of this little piece of information.

Watching the show, and maybe even attending a show (doesn't look like the majority of people here on these forums would waste an awful amount of money on a private session) would give some food for thought.

Because someone is taking issues further than books and their own homes does not mean it is for the sole purpose of media and money.  Those are simply the distractions that the people will be FORCED to deal with.

Discovering the intention and nature of this entity would help give rise to, and eliminate, some possibe answers.

Most of my meditation deals with basic breathing exercises.  You must not focus on the physical meaning of breathing.  Simply let it go, do not tame it; it knows what it is doing.

A little time spent solely on breathing exercies, without visualization, will help you overcome the problem, I presume.

I will post a spiritual view of what the breath symbolizes tomorrow afternoon.  It is in a book "The Best Guide to Meditation".  It's 330am here now, and I'm about to go jogging in a few, and then do my practices. =)  New little routine I came up with.

Strange, I held my breath for about 5 seconds last night as I was practicing, and it felt kind of good.

However, it wasn't progressive breath holding.
