Hey Mike,
I too am a sophomore and actually also do have a philosophy minor declared. So cool! I agree with you, it will be difficult. I'm considering going from professor to professor and speaking to them privately about the matter, see if I can get shoved in the right direction type deal. Well good luck yourself and thanks for the comments.

"but I often start thinking that maybe they were just physiological experiences."

Hmm... could it be both a spiritual and a physiological experience? As far as I can tell I have a mind (non-physical) which moves physical objects (my body) Sounds pretty psychic there. But it'd defidently a mind body connection. Why does out of body have to be so disconnected from the body? It is very much a physiological event and a spiritual event. Hmm... perhaps utilizing the full human potential in some views, and in my opinion. In Astral Dyamics it is given strong emphasis that relaxation is key along with mental focus. That means your body has a big part to do with it. Just as your mind does... don't doubt yourself... ask questions... but only if you will follow them up with a search for the answer.

Hello,
Well, I played with the settings and it still does not work right. I did however figure out that I can reply to topics from the list of posts using the icon on the far right. Kinda round-about, but I can reply anywho. Thanks

Is the guy in the upper right supposed to be jesus? Nothing against christianity or anything, just making sure the image they're trying to get across is what I actually thought of. Hehehe, I'm not going to waste my time reading the article... A better bio-resonation... Go naked!

Thank you kakkarot,
I will try as you suggest. I think I really need to reawaken that drive I had once before to really overcome this "simple" problem. Thanks for you comments and suggestions.

I've experienced popping noises also. Feeling it and hearing it, and then sometimes feeling like a worm or a string was being pulled through my head and then the whole back of my head felt empty and hollow for a few days. It was cool. Made my sinus act up though....

To the Sky!

Hey all again. I tried the 2-1 ratio breathing last night and it worked great! I was really tired so I only did it for 5 minutes. I've heard the rushing waterfall sound 5 or 6 times, but nothing recently. And last night I heard the beginning of it, but I got all excited. lol My heart started pumping fast and I couldn't relax my breathing cause I got so excited.... ahh, back to getting used to going deep. Thank you for this breathing exercise. It's simple, so I guess I forgot the KISS rule. good luck everyone!

I too have issues with breathing. When I get really relaxed my tounge will relax back and vibrate making this huge noise in my meditation-state sensitive ears and just plain old scare the whoozits out of me. But also I find that I have to swallow often and that really disrupts my concentration and relaxation. I like the idea of the 2-1 ratio, and training the breath at first, so we can forget about it later. I'm gonna go try that now. :) Good luck everyone!

Ralphm,
I can see the sence in those beings keeping us in our bodies. But I look at it slightly different. Rather than the entities being simply pestering by doing this, perhaps it is one being. A gatekeeper so to speak that moderates the flow between the physical and etheral. I have no verification for this thought, but wanted to throw it out anyway.

Thanks,

I adore tool too. I used to meditate to schism a little while back but then moved on. Their video's are very surreal and they don't play into the typical bands "look" or statements. Cheers to expanding views of the world....

My fears I geuss are of the unknown. I haven't projected yet, but I hope to. Everytime a step further is taken, it will take two to get used to that first step. Trust, surrender your fears, and then sit back and get comfy.

Some of the meditations could be described as "pure concentration". Being able to relax everypart of you into one focus. Eventually it becomes natural reflex to concentrate without thinking about it... and then your mind truely becomes relaxed thought, or quieted. Anyway, that's my take.

Relax relax relax.

Hi,
I haven't actually been able to project. Started trying around Jan. this year, but I did come close. I would get the rushing in my ears and then get kinda freaked out when my ears would hurt from them, but one time I finally surrendered to it, kinda like just throwing my conscious out to whatever was gonna happen, and it worked! Well, I didn't project, but the vibrations increased ten-fold, the hurt in my ears subsided, and I could see the room through my closed eyelids, only my tummy began to hurt like my ears did, and I was not expecting that, so I slipped outta it. Anyway, surrender is the way to go!

Hello Everybody!
I just registered on this forum and I must say, I am very very impressed. But then again I only have 19 short years of experience under my belt of what we call "living". So I imagine many things will impress me. :)
I am very interested in learning trance, obe, and I guess Kundalini would be my main goal. It really does not frighten me, although I do have great respect for it. I guess my gut feeling tells me to trust and surrender and everything will be alright. Anyway, if I was really afraid of dying I wouldn't step into a car would I? No, dying is out of the question here, I hope to activate Kundalini in a gentle manner, although it really the sparks and fire really grab my attention and curiosity. We live to experience right?
Trance and meditation I suppose should be my first step. Robert, your discipline and long trance practices are really admirable. I would very much like to develop a discipline similar to that. Also I'm curious if you (or anyone else) would share a little about the water fasts mentioned above? Is it simply that you only drink water, or is it a bit more complicated than that?
Thank you very much everyone for creating such an interesting and comfortable place to learn and share information.

Have a great day!
  Keith
