Welcome to Astral Chat! / How to mess up your life
February 13, 2004, 17:34:54
I like that fallnangel77, much more clever than what I was thinking about. I agree that many of the things in the list are things I try to avoid, but at the same time, I think we're all in the process of knowing our selves, and some of those steps aren't pretty, but I think they're necesary and perfect in a way that can't be understood, just known. How can you really appreciate the good without tasting the bad?  Ben

I LOVE this game, I tied 322.9, but I couldn't get past 319 after that. Thanks for telling us about it.  Ben

Sounds like it would be fun for sh*ts and giggles. Sneak up on someone a give them a little shock, good stuff.  Ben

The only thing I'll say in my defense is that I don't consider myself some sort of expert in metaphysical subjects, and have never said so, all I said is that I've been on the forum for a while and it used to be better than it is now, and I felt like pointing that out to see how others felt about it. Also, I find many newbie posts very interesting, many times they bring up different views of previous topics. I just get tired of the dilution as biktari put it. I guess that is a bit elitist, I try to not exclude any worthwhile conversation, just what I feel is crap. I guess that was more than one thing in my defense, oh well, I tend to rant. [:)] Ben

Hi cesm23

1. I think it took about a month or so for the clairvoyance stuff to start.

2. I didn't have much else to do, so I did NEW off and on all day, probably 5-6 hours total. I did lots of mobile body awareness everywhere, mainly because I liked how it felt to be all tingly. I did some sub-navel breathing exercises too, all mixed up with everything else, no set regimine or anything.

3. I was doing whatever part of the system that I felt like doing at the time, and I did pretty much everything besides hardcore primary center work. So I can't say for certain what specific part I was doing when the clairvoyance stuff happened, it sort of just popped up one night when I was falling asleep.

4. I've always been a bit weird, but I can't say I was majorly psychic before (or after for that matter) doing NEW. I could wake up my sister by looking at her, and I used to make my hands tingle by thinking about them, years before I ever heard of NEW, and I had some lucid dreams and flying dreams, but no real "powers".

5. I never really "felt" and of my centers filling, I just did the exercises, feeling the energy move around until it was near the right spot, then imagining it getting sucked in. I never felt a real filling sensation, just side effects like what volcomstone wrote.

6. I certainly never raised my kundalini, and I didn't do much work on my primary centers, didn't want to jump ahead. So I guess that my brow center opened from doing secondary energy work and natural ability. I may not have had too much weird stuff happen to me growing up, but my sister has been able to see auras her whole life and has an incredible intuition, so it probably runs in the family.

Hope this helps.  Ben

Hi

I guess my tale is half success and half failure. Here's the success part. When I first heard of NEW a few years ago, I did it all the time, everyday, and things happened. I started having strobes, could see through my blankets at night and see my room clearly but from a perspective slightly tilted from where my eyes were, saw a screen inside my head showing vivid moving visions that faded away, generally felt great from all the energy, and had a different calmer perspective on life. My failure has been keeping up with doing NEW. I lost interest, doing it just a little whenever I happened to think of it, maybe a minute or two before falling asleep. I still occasionally had strobes and sometimes I'd be falling asleep, and the images going through my mind would become incredibly real and clear, I'd actually see them, but then my excitement would bring me out the proper state and it would fade. I don't regret not totally devoting myself to practicing NEW, because I've had alot of amazing life experience in the past couple of years. It's just nice to have a bit of the "real" world fade away from time to time, letting in a whole new world that's always there, just to the side of where we're looking. NEW helps bring that into focus. I can't help you on the OBE thing, never consciously done it myself, just some salvia trips, and those were too weird and uncontrolled to even be in the same category. Ben

In this case, all that matters is that it feels good! Ben

I think the on-line is more thorough, but it doesn't cover the primary centers, while the book one does cover the primary centers but doesn't have as much detail on the other topics. So I guess to get the whole thing read the on-line one, and once you're ready, the primary center section of the book.  Ben

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Thoughts on Duality?
January 09, 2004, 16:13:52
It's good that medicine is starting to come back from its dualist viewpoint of humanity. In most areas, you can now go see any number of acupunturists, naturopaths, homeopathy practitioners, etc... Even the physicians that are more traditional have more open viewpoints than those of a century ago. Maybe there is hope. Ben

Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / Energy
January 08, 2004, 10:25:00
Volos, the main thing a well-tuned energy body is for is plain old living. It makes daily stuff happen on another level. Also, psychic stuff will eventually come about, and that's pretty interesting. I find raising energy to be a worthwhile experience by itself, it just feels nice, and it's very centering. I feel a bit braindead at the moment, so I'm not really getting all I want to say out, so perhaps I should go do a bit of energy raising myself :) Ben

This whole thing is a bit silly. Here's how I see both sides. For James, he sees this a place meant for discussion of real things. Experiences and thoughts of people to help themselves and others grow mentally and spiritually. There has been a bit of a plague of childish posts dealing will ego-centered power fantasies, so I can see how James would wish to stop them, nip them in the butt, so to speak. On the other side, it's not very hard to simply skip those threads and read something else. I think I saw 3 or 4 2012 threads, no big deal, and they stayed mainly in the astral chat forum, so as long as they stay in one place, I think they should be allowed. And to everyone posting "James, I'm mad, listen to me!" threads, obviously it's going to do nothing but annoy him further, because it's filling up the forum with many threads all dealing with the same non-issue, so instead of trying to convince everyone how mature you are with these threads, prove it by simply letting what he has down roll off your back and get on with your metaphysical journeys.  Ben

I've been a vegetarian for my entire life (22 yrs). Since I have no meat eating experience, I can't whether I'm healthier than I would be if I ate meat. All I can say is that I generally have quite a bit of energy compared to most people I meet. It likely that it has to do more than being vegetarian, pehaps other physical things like blood type, or perhaps my generally positive attitude about life. Also, I'm a Leo, so that may have something to do with it. If you do decide to become vegetarian, make sure you fully understand your body's nutritional requirements, take vitamins, read labels, and don't eat too much soy. Most soy is heavily sprayed and then processed. For protein, no-cage eggs are better, along with protein in grains and legumes other than soybeans. Also, some people's bodies simply don't work right with a vegetarian diet, so if you feel awful, quit the hard-core vegetarianism and follow Angel's advice. Actually, follow Angel's advice regardless of whether or not you eat meat, refined sugar sucks butt, and the only good dairy is yogurt, though I still drink milk and eat cheese, I just LOVE parmesean and honey bunches of oats;) Ben

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Marijauna: THE TRUTH!

It's really easy to write the government, pretty much every representative out there has an e-mail address. Flood every single one of them with messages politely asking for immediate cannabis reform. I write a different person a couple of times a month. I don't know if they're even being read, but it makes me feel better at least. I find that smoking everyday is pretty awful after a while, but occasional indulgence is wonderful. Everybody should try it at least once. Ben

Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / NEW?
January 02, 2004, 14:34:05
N.E.W. stands for New Energy Ways, Robert Bruce's tactile based energy system. It's awesome. On the main astralpulse site there is an articles section and a good one showing most of the NEW system. Ben

Thanks Risu, that's the one. Such a kick butt tale. I agree Fat Turkey, it'd be nice if RB posted more, but I guess he's busy writing awesome books. Ben

Yes, I've already read that one too. This isn't on the astral pulse and never has been, I found it on spiritweb, but it's shut down now. Please read the description of the article before posting any more links. Thanks. Ben

I like that origin of christmas alot more than all that crap that contemporary culture fed me when I was a kid. I still see christmas as good simply because I have good memories of it in the past, it felt good to give and receive, regardless of any religious conotations. Mostly it's just another day, with as much likelyhood of sucking as being nice. Ben

Thanks Ybom, that's all very good advice. Some of it is stuff I've thought of since I wrote it and as I wrote it. While what I said in my original posts was all genuine thoughts of mine, a big reason for posting it instead of just going off and looking elsewhere was to create an interesting conversation. I feel a bit of loyalty to this webpage because I've been involved in it for years, and even during the times where I was kind of bored with it, I did always find something of interest. I guess I just wanted to up the level of conversation within the whole forum by getting people to think a bit more about what they write. You know what's funny, you said something about PMing someone to find out more of someone's interesting experience, which is something I hadn't thought of, and just yesterday Lighthouse sent me a PM about some of her works, and I had a very interesting couple of hours going through her stuff. So I guess you're reiterating what the universe was trying to tell me. I admit that I wasn't putting as much effort into the search and production of interesting materials, I was sort of relishing my unenjoyment in a way. But now I see that's just silly, so I have to put in what I expect back. Ben

I agree that to an outside observer this may be true, but for me it has alot of substance, because it's something I'm interested in at the moment. And as I'm sure you'll say as soon as you read this, yes some of the threads that I think suck may be very interesting to the people involved in them, and my opinion of what is and isn't interesting isn't any better than their's. It's all subjective and you can't argue with what someone feels about something, so I think alot of the threads suck, and I like this one, though I may like this one more just because I started it. I'm not above a little a selfish delight. And maybe some of this thread is a little bland, no big deal, I'm satisifed with some of the better thoughts expressed, such as jilola's. I have to laugh at your last post because I myself am a vegetarian, and a crazy one at that, so it's all working out nicely[^] Ben

What does this look like? This an attempt at what you say, intelligent conversation is the "meat". Also, my bent is more towards adding my own thoughts to existing conversations, I have no reason for it, it's just what I like.[:P]  Ben

It sounds like your family are fake hippies, not practicing what they preach, as you said. I consider myself half-hippy, and that half just wants to smoke pot, go to drum circles, and spread the love. Maybe your mom was like that before marrying that guy, who I get major negative vibes from by the way. Sounds like you've got to figure out a way to get rid of him. Naybe find some arch-nemesis of his so they fight it out and the negative vibes get redirected away from your mom and you. That'd be cool. Well, you have my best wishes, good luck.  Ben

Here's a few ideas, get Robert's Practical Psychic Self Defense and try some of the stuff in there. Or look up some wiccan defensive spells to see if you can get the stuff she is sending you to bounce off you and go back to it's sender. And remember, she may be using your remaining love for her against you, as a way in for the magic. Just guessing. Ask around in the magic forum. Knowledge is the best defense.  Ben

I think NEW is a total system by itself, but also a great precursor to many things, such as healing. It helps get you system ready for it, though I think any of us can do it, if we need to enough, and let our intuition take over. You might want to get some reiki attunements. I know Robert Bruce wrote something about healing a while ago, it had something to do with using your heart chakra, do a search in the forum, and check the articles. I don't remember, but Astral Dynamics might have something in it about healing. Even if it doesn't, everything in it would apply, at least as groundwork. Energy follows intention.  Ben

Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / Wow -- Hi
December 21, 2003, 19:23:40
Hey, welcome to the forum. I suggest you read some of the articles on the main site. Also, get Robert Bruce's books because they're amazing, and though I haven't read them, Bruce Moen's come with high regards from Adrian. Apparently, doing too much work on just the 3rd eye can be psychologically unbalancing. Any of the things that people on this forum have experienced have come about do to alot of time and effort, tons of natural ability, or drugs, or a mixture of the three. I recommend you go through the time and effort route, guided by at least Robert's NEW system, it's great. Well, good luck.  Ben
