That's my point exactly, I usually just wake up.  When I get these vibrations I don't even recall being out.  I just wake up with them, a LOT.
My question is: Are they residual from being out? or a precursor to?
#27
Quotegood question! the whole key is to recognize that your body is asleep or in the cataleptic state to exit. there are many times that I drift off to sleep and I try to watch myself. after so many minutes pass I don't realize that I was drifting or in the trance state and I can feel the vibes (very light) while I coming back to consciousness.

This is an area where I need to make some serious effort with.  When I wake up and as you stated, my body is still asleep, I will lose what vibrations I had after a few minutes.  Even if I attempt to project. It's as if my eyes open, then my mind wakes up and then my mind starts to think   and focus on my vibrations, then they fade.

TVOS,

That's interesting how you saw the bag of trash on your parents lawn.  Even though it wasn't exactly what was in the bag, it was still verifiable.  Which brings to mind a question, is it our mind that interprets the imagery that makes the changes? Or is it perception? Or is that one and the same?

That reminds me of one I had recently.  It was a Saturday morning and I had been waking up and going back to sleep.  My husband had gotten up before me as usual so I kept drifting in and out of sleep.  The next thing I'm aware of is I am floating in my garage, up near the rafters and I'm watching him wash the car.  I float around in the garage, but keep bumping into the rafters. Then I woke up.

I get up, go downstairs and into the garage and there he is, washing the car.

There were some subtle differences between my OBE and the 'real world' so to speak.  I did validate him washing the car, but the lighting was different.  The position of the car was different, maybe that was due to perception?

TVOS,

I remember you doing your experiments with the playing cards.  I tried, in vain I might add to do an experiment with dice.  It would seem that when I do go 'out' I'm not the least bit interested in what numbers I rolled on the dice.

I pm'd you my OBE from Monday evening..  thank you for taking a look at it!

The debris in your parent's front lawn?  I must have missed that one.  Perhaps you could direct me to the post?

All I can say, is great timing for this topic.  As I lay this morning, after waking to the usual vibration I made a mental note to ask about this exact topic!

With that being said, I think at this juncture, we'll all be more or less comparing notes.

Here are a few notes to ponder:  I wake with the vibrations without even being aware of having been OUT.  Pretty much every day, I wake up the same, my whole being is tingling mildly and every so often I feel a strong pulsation sensation.  I want to be able to project from there but my alarm (snooze) will go off and I'll have to move my physical body.  The tingling sensations last up to 2 full minutes at times?  Yet I am aware of being ?? re-aligned?  Why does this happen when I am not aware of being out?

TVOS,

Symbolic validation? As in a synchronistic way?  Do you see something in your travels out of the ordinary and then come across it in your wakeful state?

I had an OBE the night before last which was really, really, weird.  Perhaps if you don't mind I might pm you with a synopsis and see what your thoughts on it are.  I would post it here, but I'm not sure I want the backlash of opinions.  Since it was a very spiritual one.  *shrugs*

Berserk_Exodus,

First off, let me say welcome back!  Hopefully you will share with us your perspectives on Astral Travels as well as your journey through this place we call life.

Thank you for sharing with us what you already have.  I believe it says quite a bit about a person to share something so personal, as your trials and tribulations.  Much less to admit to it to cyberspace for all to opine about.  With such a reflection about yourself you must be aware that drugs are, although for some recreational and for others, well, just a down right bad habit.

We all have can have burdens with such things, whether it be marijuana, or cocaine, to nicotine and alcohol.  Tempting as they are, experimental as we are, well... it's just a combination some of us, myself included, cannot pass up the opportunity to explore.  I'm a beer person myself. Glad to know that you've come to the conclusion that it only brings about depression and anxieties.  Recognizing that fact is, in itself HUGE!

I hope that this forum renews your interest in astral travel among other things and is a whole new wonderful spiritual journey for you.  So, like I mentioned (pun intended) Welcome Back!

QuoteI don't know about you, but having validations of precognitive event of a persons death wouldn't be my forte. I do feel however that there is a link, higher power sharing this information with you. Maybe to prevent, learn, share to the world this knowledge. If at most, its definitely a experience to share. Have you looked around the net for others who've had these type of experiences and see what they communicate to you?

I want to share also, that not all of my OBE's are of death.  I have had many wonderful ones as well, more of the latter than the death ones.  It's just that when I 'view' through someone else, the good ones don't make the news, so they aren't easily validated.

To answer your question if I've ever met or been able to share these experiences with others, the answer is yes and no.  I have spoken with people who are able to OBE and view through another persons eyes, and I have spoken with people who have 'precog' dreams, but not both at the same time.  Either one or the other.  Which is one of the reasons I came to this board, to search for people with like interests and perhaps share experiences and compare notes.

Unfortunately, I seem to be still searching for answers.  No, that's hasty, I shouldn't have said unfortunately, as that is something we should do continually, never stop searching for answers.  It seems when we find an answer to one thing, another question take it's place.  That's a good thing.

So.. if anyone has had these types of experiences and would like to share some insight, I'm more than willing to be receptive to their thoughts and ideas.  Don't get me wrong here either, it doesn't consume me with sadness or even depression.  I embrace every bit of what I've got with humility and thank fullness.  As I said, it isn't only bad things I see.  Once when I was viewing from inside a woman (to make this extremely brief) I was able to 'feel' the love and devotion she had for her husband and that in itself was amazingly wonderful.

As for knowing about people's deaths it doesn't really get to me anymore... it's all a part of living isn't it?  It's merely a shift in consciousness, but that's just my humble opinion.

Some people accept re-incarnation as naturally as breathing, where as other people, no matter how much 'proof' they are shown will never have enough to convince them that there is any validity to re-incarnation, astral traveling, OBE's, NDE's, any thing beyond what they can't touch.

TVOS,

Thanks for the bump, it's fun to go back and re-visit some of these.

As I was reading them, and some of your questions, I realize now that I didn't interpret them the way you meant them to be.

You asked in an earlier post : Whether I knew it was day or night time while I was out.

Yes, I have had both types of experiences.  The one with the 'woman and the children' was daytime.  When I was viewing through her eyes I could see intricate details of her apartment.  The carpeting, the mesh on her screen door as she was looking into the courtyard area of the complex that they lived in, the fountain that no longer worked was old, dirty and in disrepair.  Where the grass was, or should have been was brown, flattened and mostly dirt.  Things like that are not only key elements in my OBE's but also define the differences between normal dream states and astral traveling.

When I am 'floating' on a plane I can see the faces of people, their luggage and hear the murmurs of conversations, as if I am in the room with them.  I guess in a way, I really am, they just can't see me.  I have a good idea as to where the plane is, either the airport or sometimes the state where it's going.

Recently, maybe about 3 or 4 months ago I did have several OBE's in which women were involved.  One of them took place on a freeway where a woman 'jumped' from her SUV and was killed.  I did get a first name in this one.  The OBE lasted perhaps 20-30 seconds, more like a movie in fast forward.  I received the information sort of all at once.  The name I got was Amy.  I woke up, showered and, as usual, turned on the t.v. to listen to the news as I was getting ready for work.

I hear a story unfolding about a woman who had 'jumped' from a moving vehicle, (a limo) on a local freeway.  Of course this caught my attention, so I went to look at the television. This limo was a hummer (or SUV) and this woman, after a night of partying with some friends opened the window and jumped out.  When the news mentioned her name... Jennifer I think it was, I was thinking.. okay just a coincidence, it's not Amy.  But as it turned out, this woman, Jennifer had used her roommate's I.D. and credit cards to rent the limo.  Her roommates name was Amy.

After that one, I had another weird OBE where I saw a woman getting into a car on the side of the freeway.  She was hitchhiking.  All of the places she'd been to were flashing in my view like a slide show.  Very fast and very quick, but a part of me was able to discern what they were... restaurants, truck stops, gas stations and information as to some states she'd been to entered my mind.  Then this lady came back to her brothers house and fell into a construction type ditch in her brothers backyard.  He didn't help her, he just watched her fall in and let her die.  This woman, for some reason I got her first and last name.

I looked up a site that we have available here, it's a public site for traffic tickets, arrests, family courts, all things connected to the county courthouse. You can search by using a name.  Well, as it turns out, there happens to be a lady with the exact name with quite a bit of a rap sheet so to speak that fits the woman's age I 'dreamed' about.  The strange thing is her name is not a common name.

My questions are... IF in fact these people and events are real, what to do with the information? I ask myself, is this training? Am I supposed to learn how to 'read' these OBE's and learn from them? Is it sort of a private class with a private tutor? LOL   By the way, these particular experiences were all spontaneous OBE's.

How about you? Have you adopted as of yet and if so, has it affected your own OBE's?

Novice,

Thank you, you explained it so much better than I did!

TheDarkChakra,

Another thought might be the position you are in during your attempt?  Are you lying on your back or side or might you try sitting?  I realize sitting is a little harder to achieve projection, but it might help you to balance your Chakras?

TheDarkChakra,

You have posted quite an interesting topic it seems. Aside from the off topic comments, I have recently finished a book that talks about levels of spirituality.  These levels are likened to floors.  (Chakras)

On the 1st floor (1st chakra) one must deal with the material side of 'self', which is greed, money, anything you want materialistic wise, but do not need.  This must be overcome to lift spirit to the second floor. (2nd Chakra and so on) Which is in fact the 'sensual' or sexual energies and desire side of self.

What the meaning of it is this:  you utilize that sexual energy to focus on the OoBE.  If you can pass this area of gratification and not climax, you would use the energy that your body produces to enable you to project.

It speaks of focus and allowing you to understand that these desires are part of the human side, once you understand that gratification expends your energy, your work on trying to exit is terminated, at least in this attempt.

Maybe the next time you try to project, understand that concept, refocusing your energy into the astral and see if it doesn't help.  Or focus on opening and closing your chakras in order?

Just a thought. Hope it helps.

Thank you for the link, I will definitely check it out.  I have read a few of Brian Weiss' books as well.  Lots of good information there also!

Thanks again!

QuoteHave you read this book? Is it easy to read?

Yes, to both of your questions. I've also read the book Runlola suggested, which is a good book to read as well.  I only recommend books that I've read personally, unless I mention otherwise.

This book is interesting because it mentions many different stories and varied accounts from the people involved.  It is written by a self proclaimed skeptic journalist who is invited by the Dr. who, by the way is a Scientist who initially set out to DISprove reincarnation.  What he found was astounding, he and the journalist take an awesome journey.

Beth, I understand your post and entertain some of your thoughts as well.  I don't think that any of this can be put into one neat little category.  Too many variables and too many questions to not consider other options.  Great post!

this is a great book, a 17 year study and some really good information as well as personal accounts.

I highly recommend them, if you do a search on Dan Millman, he has a website about his books.  They are interesting and insightful, and very much in line with your post.  Which is what made me think of him.

SS_Patrick,

I too have read Dr. Ian Anderson's books on reincarnation, and must agree with you.  The scientific proof to me and the fact that he went out of his way to have a self professed skeptic journalist travel with him, only to be amazed at what he saw was quite interesting.

QuoteHaving an OBE and achieving proof of soul's existence hasn't really changed my view of life dramatically, but rather added to it some positive elements. In short, I had same values and moral etc. but after spiritual experiences I got knowledge, that has strengthened my view of life. I know now that my ancestors understood how universe works. I am more motivated to become better human and help my family, friends and also my folk. I am also more calm and adversities in life don't bother me as much as before.

Based on your above paragraph, I was wondering, have you ever read any of Dan Millman's books? The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, Journey of the Peaceful Warrior.. ?

Try saying to yourself when you are 'blind, or in the dark' say something to the effect of :

Clarity please, or clear vision.  You might surprise yourself, it'll be like someone turned the lights on.  Anyway, this technique works for me, hope it helps you.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Tarot Card Question
April 14, 2006, 12:32:11
Honestly?  I've made it a practice not to read for myself... too many times I would see something and try to make changes based on my reading, only to have it occur anyway.

Which leads me to... whether or not you want to work for company A, or leave for company B, have trust in the (for lack of a better term) synchronistic events and it will, or will not fall into place ... naturally.

In other words, if it is meant for you to leave company A then it will happen with or without your reading.  Things have a way of falling into or out of place when they are supposed to.  My Husband used to tell me in a Confucius type voice "If you worry, will it change the futcha?"

I hope you will keep us posted on what the outcome is and it's events.?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / OBE experience?
April 14, 2006, 11:34:48
First I'd like to say, welcome to the forum.  This is a great place to learn.  There are a fair amount of diverse opinions here and with reading, and reading and reading you will find one, or two, or maybe even three that makes sense to you.  Since we are all individuals, so are our experiences, but there are commonalities that we share that helps to make sense of your own experiences.

The best advice I can give you is to search for your answers.  You are asking the right questions and at some point, the answers will come for you. I don't really want to opine on your experiences, only to share that when I OB it can be the same for me. At times. Sometimes I am just there and other times I am able to fly, or go through walls and up through floors.  Each experience with OBE is different.

I hope this helps.

CFTraveler,

I completely understand what you mean by disturbing, there are times when I am viewing from inside another person but don't have any details.  Here's one I have rarely, if ever shared:

I was viewing from inside a man, he was with a few other men in a business district somewhere.  They had come out of a building and it had been raining, the air was cool and damp. He had a gun in his hands.

I heard shots from behind me and a bullet pierced my leg and then I was shot with what I assume to be a shot gun because it took of the top part of my head.  (Eeewww) Then I fell down on the pavement, I felt a weird numbness in my head and the wet rocky cold pavement on my face.  My last thought was how come I'm not dead? The whole top of this man's head was gone. Then I felt the life go from this man and I 'exited' and flew away.

Talk about creepy.

TVOS,

Do you find yourself in a few synchronized moments?  I have had several of late and I'd like to share today's with you, if you don't mind.

Yesterday, I came across this post and obviously answered it, or tried to without getting 'too deep' into my beliefs and today I come across this passage in the book I'm reading.  It explains to a "T" where my intentions for achieving OBE's lie.

QuoteCertain mystical techniques and substances have been known for centuries to provide glimpses of the upper floors. (This part book is talking about OBE's and spiritual development).  These are best treated as sacred, rather than recreational, activities; they can be useful as 'previews of coming attractions.

Spirit is always here, always with us, around us, inside us.  There are no shortcuts to this realization.  Mystical practices generate heightened awareness, but if experiences aren't grounded in a responsible life in this dimension, they lead nowhere

(Dan Millman, Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior)

With that being said, I, in NO way want to put a damper on another persons' point of view or their own reasons as to why they want to achieve OBE's. This doesn't mean that I don't respect any one else's reasons for it, I can appreciate everyone's point of view.  This just states my own personal explanation, one that I could not have summed up better.

So, when I read this in my book, I literally took pause to re-read it, think of synchronicity, smile, and thought of you.

Welcome to Dreams! / Dream about death..
April 12, 2006, 11:16:49
Quote from: cainam_nazierWell not for me their not.  Most of the time the settings are a bit strange and for instance I was burned at the stake one time in a dream and it didn't happen anywhere that I get the news for.  I think some thing like that would have been on the news if it happened.

I've heard some people theorize that the type of dream you mention has to do with a past life memory.  Anyone have any thoughts on that?
#50
I'm a firm believer in what we do here has a direct effect on where we end up on the other side. I don't tell anyone what to believe in or how to conduct their lives, since I would be reluctant for anyone to tell me what to do or believe in.

My personal motto is: The Karma Gods never sleep!
