i know what it is. its all your cares and personal worries from the physical in some made up trunk and you slam the lid on it and poof they're all gone. Im just saying its overrated as far as OBE success goes in my experience. I do love the gateway series as a whole as a guide for meditation though.

It sure is easy to freak out when you feel like there is 1000 pounds weighing down your body. I usually see giant millipedes or spiders. What are two of my biggest fears? I'd say giant millipedes and spiders lol. Now I can relax during the hypnogogic states.

I've tried it, but the real success I think is found when you raise your energy levels through meditation and energy works.

maybe we don't even need it to have a perception of f1. we just need it to maintain a physical body and interact with the world. I would guess that observation is allowed of f1. Maybe only in public places, however that would work is beyond my understanding but then again so are many of the laws of they physical like gravity, dark energy, etc.

thanks so much for this. If it weren't for Frank, I would never be able to face the demons that exist in focus level 2. I would think they are reality and not projections of my imagination. Also if it weren't for Frank I would surely melt with fear at the feet of a real negative entity in the true astral. Frank's teaching show that there is nothing to fear. It's most encouraging and I intend to read all 1000 pages.

This question has been bothering me a lot. If the brain is necessary to astral project then that means that all entities existing within the astral dimensions have a physical brain somewhere. If this is the case astral projection would just be a brain phenomenon for the living who have unlocked its secrets. There would be no afterlife, because the dreamworld would be for physical beings only. Most depressing.

I tend to believe that the brain is not necessary for the astral world. We have no physical body within the astral so there is no need for subconscious mechanisms such as automatic heartbeat, breathing etc. This would also mean there is no true death. The fact that astral travelers like Frank Kepple & Robert Monroe have had encounters with deceased entities agrees with this theory.

Right now my energy body is weak. I can barely see in my dreams, and I have no vibrations upon falling asleep. I will get them back in time with energy work, but this leads to another question. If one is to die with a weak energy body, would their consciousness improve to a more concrete reality upon death? Will suddenly consciousness be as real as waking reality in the astral dimensions because the consciousness is no longer tied to the physical body?

I wonder if Frank's level 2 system of reality is accessible after death, since it is the subconscious mind. I would guess that upon death the consciousness is phased to another focus level, and we would feel as alive as we do today here on Earth. Either way I intend to explore all the realms before death, so I am prepared for what lies ahead on the other side. Maybe I will answer some of my own questions through my own explorations. It sure would be nice if I could go to a nice F27 Hawaii beach at night and not have to pay for the ticket!

I'm sure I'll see some of you there, as soon as I get my energy levels up to par. Last time it took only 2 weeks of meditation twice a day 15-20 minute sessions. After that my energy body was so strong I had vibrations every time I fell asleep, and lucid dreams every night. Unfortunately I had some frightening experiences and was scared away. Five years has passed and this time I'm ready. I'll rip off a demons head and tinkle down its throat if i have to! Happy travels!

I had an episode earlier where my butt felt like it was on fire or being electrically shocked. My back felt like it had wings growing out of it and the back of my head was tingling. Also I was getting electrical spasms in my hamstrings and thighs. I used to be much better at moving energy throughout my body but now it feels like its just shooting through me and freaking me out. I think the fact that I can't control it is related to anxiety. I will meditate on this.

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Why are dreams so amazing?

If DMT is released everytime we dream then we are having OBEs and NDEs everytime we dream. What if DMT is released to create waking consciousness too. It would all be due to the same chemical, and the same in nature. Is that what you think? Is this all a big trick of the brain or is DMT a gateway to something else.

Welcome to Dreams! / distorted echo
November 05, 2009, 12:46:18
my lucidity is terrible in my new dream. It's because I haven't meditated enough. I am yelling into a vent "helooooooooooo" and then i get a distorted echo response. Not really distorted but slightly altered like I'm just making an echo joke. This happens over and over. I have the sense of jumping to a cliff and being high in altitude. Now I'm having a conversation with a friend on top some facility built into a mountain. I can't stop thinking about symmetry. I have a really strong image of symmetry like the cliff. Not sure if it's related.

keep practicing. in my lucid dreams i used to float back down, but when i was really lucid i could go right through the ceiling! good times

I thought i might have seen a yellow colored LED type light come through my blinds and heard a what sounded like a warp engine exhaust. No warbling like I usually think of it. It was very distinct and real to me. It was upon waking so i think it was some cool hypnogogics. I usually only see giant black centipedes (2ft) and giant black spiders (1ft) so I think my energy breaths are helping.

Sounds to me like you are on the right track. Post back about your next attempt it sounds like you are right where i am at. (heavy vibrations, being able to move the vibrations to different parts of the body, feelings of exit) Just need to get out!

it seems to me all the bin-aural beats have a small but noticable effect on me. nothing drastic and not one is much better than the others.
#39
when i was doing energy work more regularly, i could move it from my feet up to my head and have control of the energy. also when i moved it towards my upper body i sometimes could feel my "feet" lift off the bed. thats about where i gave up last time because i was having trouble adapting to the change in awareness. (mostly fear). looking to get back into it 5 years later

for me i say things like clarity now
#41
i suppose you could call anything other than waking consciousness dreaming

i think it depends on how aware/lucid/conscious you are at the moment in question. we know that we are awake now because we are aware of it.

personally i only consider "dreams" to be the alice in wonderland, subconscious rising to the surface, totally out of control type dreams. im not sure where this falls into any of the models of consciousness, but maybe one day the word dream will be replaced with several more specific words describing the different states or focus areas as you call them.

cant say i had a similar experience in terms of the ringing but i can say that often i will hear things in sleep paralysis like voices or cackaling (dont ask me) and the more i try to hear it the more i do hear it. perhaps its because we are closer to another state of consciousness where what we think is manifested.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Prayer

yes i think the astral filters down into what we perceive as waking consciousness so if you can manipulate the source then the output will be greater
#44
pinch yourself to prove that you're not awake. that's ironic.

i have to post about this because i constantly see giant spiders right when i wake up. one time when i was younger i saw i huge (2ft) centapede crawling on my wall , i jumped up and attacked it with my pillow. rather stupid i realized very quickly but still freaky.
