It may be funny, but it is serious. (Serious face.) (Seriously serious face.) (Not faking it.) (DAMN! YOU CAUGHT ME FAKING!)

I have had help that wanted to critisize more than help though, it is something to look out for.

Quote from: jilolaFirst thing: Slow down, no worries. People take time to reply with thought and I'd bet you're not looking for replies with no thought :)

Kat:
Your right. XD I guess I have a little bit of a temper. It would be hard to mistake me for anyone else though, which can be a good thing some times. Thank you for replying!

Quote0. Many frightening paralysis experiences where I took control of myself and allowed myself to not see anything. I forced them away, and forced myself to sleep.
I've done this in the past but it seems what will happen will  happen. I'd suggest you examine your expectations and the reason you give for the fear of seeing something. The good thing is, now you know you can always get away from a frightening situation so already you have the necessary tools to cope with anything that you may experience.

Kat:
I guess you are right. Getting rid of my fears is hard, but I guess I should be glad that my instincts of shutting off senses (Or trying to) helps me to get over fears. ^^

Quote1. I have had an OBE were I man I did not know approached me, and started hugging/kissing me.
We initially interpret  our experiences in the astral in terms of what we know in the physical. Thus the hugging & kissing could be your way of putting love and affection sent your way in terms of the usual situation you've encountered similar in your everyday life.

Kat:
He was pretty evil considering he turned into something that hurt a lot, (Although it is probably all in my head,) but I guess bad things try to look like good things? I have no real clue on that one.

Quote2. In the OBE directly after that, a person looking like my mother (In a positive, loving way.) watched him approach me, and told me "It's a beast. It isn't what you think it is!" She pulled me over into the kitchen, and continued to have a very mother daughter talk with me. Something pounced on me, leaving deep claw mark shaped gashes in my back. It happened two or three times, I did not seem to be very scared through the experience, but I woke up with realistic pains.
I'm sure I'm the minority here but I'd think in terms of of that mother figure being the expression of your upbringing. Thou shalt not talk to strangers, like.

Kat:
That's an interesting way of thinking about it. Those strangers, hard to trust em. ^^

Quote3. No more OBEs for awhile. I started having LDs that formed into Lds, but they were not very detailed or lengthy.
OK. LDs are a toed down way of getting your feet wet. Enjoy them when you get them and make the most you can. Have fun.

Kat:
I like flying! It is very fun!

Quote4. Large feelings of fear, often and violent in my mind, over small and sometimes meaningless things. Fear for no reason, often coming before a bad dream.
This goes to the fact that what we expect is what we'll get in the astral. The apprehension of sleep/night/a potential OBE could manifest as those feelings you describe and later on put a nasty twist on your in interpretation of your experiences. Nothing out there is out to get you. You are in total control at all times even when things seems to be spinning out of control. Get scared and yo9UL snap out back to awake reality. Just think what is what and don't go putting too much spin on things.

Kat:
I get it. The only problem I have every once in awhile is when something doesn't let me snap back into reality. O.O

Last night a sex dream was about to start, and I just plain out attacked whatever the person was. It turned into something else, and would not let me wake up. I heard myself talking and yelling IRL, and my dogs started barking because of it. I could open my eyes for a few seconds to look at the clock though. Back to normal now, and slightly worried about where my dreams come from.

Quote5. Another complete OBE. I wandered to the closet, where a large black dog lunged at me. I dodged it, it made me let out a bit of a whimper, and I went on my own way with a slight fear of the closet. A loud and clear female voice (Friendly, yet business like.) told me to be more quite. I nodded, and left the house. I was swept up by strong winds, and found myself flying. I was able to gain a little control, but for the most part I was at the will of the wind.
The bogyman in the closet with a new angle? Yep. The voice (with your immediate compliance and understanding) would be you reminding yourself to keep your wossname together. The wind sounds like the astral wind often described.

Kat:
XD! I have never had a real closet fear before. I used to try and sleep in my closet as a kid to calm me down, because I am the extreme opposite of a claustrophobic.

I guess it is interesting that I finally have this fear, now I can relate to people with it!

"There's a boogie man in my closet! I had a bad dream about it!"

"Yeah, I know how you feel! I had a dream that there was a Rottweiler hell hound in my closet! We are the same!" *Hugs*

Quote6. This happened earlier. I was in the middle of a dream, when I noticed something inter the dream as a blue purple maybe even pink-ish swirl. I remember thinking something about fairies. My mom (Who was in the dream.) told me to get to get, and fast! It was in a very unreal dream setting, so I figured that I was only imagining the fact that my mother usually protected me in OBEs. I felt hands grab my wrists, and I was yanked out of the bed. Still in the dream state, I heard the thing in a female voice yell "YOU ARE KATRINA MARIA MCBRIDE!!!!" It dropped me, and I woke up frightened.
Are you?

Kat:
Yes. I wasn't going to poke her with a stick and say "YOUR A FAIRY!" though. *Sniffle.*

QuoteFear of getting to bed late occurred from this.
No worries. I can see why.

Kat:
(Shakes head.) I guess at least my mom is happier now.

Quote4. More and more often, I would have sudden sexual dreams that left me feeling award and drowsy in the morning. A few scary dreams during this time gave me a big fear of the window closest to my bed.
As above, so below, right? There's nothing in the astral that isn't right here and vice versa.  Fears of having been shoved out of the window? Or what?

Kat:
Nah, fear of seeing things outside the window. Being pushed out a window would be scary though.  :?

Quote5. I am sure this was not a dream, but it quickly faded into one. I was grabbed by the shoulders, shaken dramatically, and told "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" Repeatedly in an urgent voice. I thought it was my mom, and checking the clock realized it was earlier than when she wakes me up. Black floating mist was involved, very shadowy.
Disregard the mist. Anyone waking up at night is bound to see swirls and such. I'd put this to the doings of your subconscious trying to stop you from having the obe.

Kat:
I kind of wonder why. ;_;?

Quote6. My door opened that morning, I saw out of the corner a cute child, heard a startling hello, and went on with the morning a little startled.
Were you awake? Asleep? In the astral?

Kat:
Wide awake, but visibly tweaking afterwords.

Whenever you get a strange experience be it a dream, a lucid dream or a full blown OBE always remember that we interpret what we perceive. We interpret what be perceive
Often the interpretation revolves around fear and related feelings since we are, in real life, apprehensive of strange and unusual things. Look beyond and keeps your brain engaged and you'll be fine.

Kat:
(Nods.) I get it.

PS:This was perhaps not the most thought out reply but since you were getting antsy :)

( :D Sorry! I do that some times.  :o)

I would be careful to get anything unusual checked. If I see help for a problem however, I tend to not to say anything about OBEs, AP, Ghosts, are anything that people are skeptical about. If you tell them about things like that, you could end up labeled with something you do not have. Damn, that is messed up. I can't believe that even with so much credible proof, the people who don't believe in something call it crazy.

Also, feeling the need to keep doors and windows closed, feeling the need to have the fan always running, and feeling the need for a little squirt bottle of water or at least a water bottle.

I heard that their is a sort of bad place people go through with their first OBEs. If I have already had an out of body experience that has seemed enjoyable, is that still a problem?

The only things that I can think of counting as that barrier are the listed:

0. Many frightening paralysis experiences where I took control of myself, and allowed myself to not see anything. I forced them away, and forced myself to sleep.

1. I have had an OBE were I man I did not know approached me, and started hugging/kissing me.

3. No more OBEs for awhile. I started having LDs that formed into OBEs (Typo), but they were not very detailed or lengthy.

4. Large feelings of fear, often and violent in my mind, over small and sometimes meaningless things. Fear for no reason, often coming before a bad dream.

Fear of getting to bed late occurred from this.

4. More and more often, I would have sudden sexual dreams that left me feeling award and drowsy in the morning. A few scary dreams during this time gave me a big fear of the window closest to my bed.

6. My door opened that morning, I saw out of the corner a cute child, heard a startling hello, and went on with the morning a little startled.

7. Another, more disturbing, OBE. I was not aware between the light and dark differences at the time. During a sleep over, I rolled out of my body and onto a friend. Soon after this I had a disturbing little encounter where the two of us where having relations. I then snapped awake. Sleep paralysis a few minutes later brought me back, and I was talking to who I thought was Megan. With a slight sense of fear, she convinced me that we where going to go to a house I got bad vibes from. I left the room, and noticed that outside of the room was much lighter. I tried to turn the light up in the room, but failed and was greeted by a demonic look from my friend. I forced her to change into another person, and then got ready for a trip to the house. *Went their IRL, bad things happened.*

8. Bad sleep paralysis. Heard scary noises that where psychic, because my friend repeated them the next day as if they were nothing. Big sense of fear, I am now unable to sleep without a light on in my room, and sometimes unable to sleep without music.

I want to know if any of this counts as an initiation, what I can do to stop bad things from happening, and how to prepare myself for another OBE without the fear of something as drastic.

I know a druggie that sees a distorted reality every Monday at 4:20 and every Friday at three in the morning, but I do not think it is a mental disorder. I sometimes wonder if the reason why so many people think they are sick when they are not is a result from overly common symptoms.
#34
He he he... That is funny! And people wonder why they go through a midlife crisis, oh why they are not doing as well with something as they want to.

I try to come up with at least something to help my imagination every once in awhile. Although it is difficult to believe that an imaginary friend is real, I like to make up a little something to see how creative I can be, and then I make little games out of it after wards.

I mostly do that because I am into writing, and creative writing is a LOT easier when you give yourself a little help.   :D

I think I know where my frustrations are coming from now. I guess I am going to have to have patience and work hard to get back to the point where I want to be. ^^

-_-; I read about this in a book. The sort of spirit lives in soft objects, and can become trapped in one of your limbs. They did not have a technical term for it; the guy just called it a fluff fairy. (Do not ask me why, I thought it was a bunch of bull until it happened to me.)

I had that happen to me before. It got stuck in my ark, and a kept constantly popping my arm and twitching to try and get rid of it. My arm would start twitching on my own; I would feel it in my arm, and all that jazz. I don't remember how I got rid of it, but I know it is not there now.

I disagree with you. Versions of the Bible have been found in it's original language, and any christian book store will help you find books on the differences between the old bibles and the new ones. I think that it is foolish to condemn any religion, everyone has their own beliefs you know. I could easily except the fact that you do not believe in modern Christianity, but I think it's wrong to act like it is "Fake", or "False" just because you chose to not believe in it. I believe in God, and would tell it to anyone, but I would not look down at a Buddhist for believing in Buddha.

I had a dream paralysis that resulted in hearing something psychically. O.O; It was really weird. I heard this loud scary sound like a duck call, and it got faster and faster. The next day, one of my friends that I did not tell about the experience starts bragging about how good her duck calls are, and she did it the exact way I heard it. Creepy...

Vibrations sound creepier though. I tweak sometimes after being in paralysis, but I have never had vibrations. (Except one time when I fell asleep in a vibrating chair. Yursh...... is was comfy... ^^; I love that chair.)

Thank you very much. Both of your replies have help me a lot in understanding what happened.

data, the story you used was interesting. I haven't heard of it, but it makes a lot of sense.

And as for the schizophrenic thing, that is why I didn't tell my councilor about my childhood.  :mrgreen:  Some people do jump to conclusions pretty fast.  Anyway, if it being a shift in my life is the reason why it only happened a lot when I was little, I feel a lot better. I was starting to think that there were just spots of my childhood where m7y imagination ran a little wild. ^^;

Thank you very much for the reply. I guess I am very novice to not know that yet, but I just did not know what it was. What books would you recomend to me since even something like this is hard for me to understand?
#40
I would really like to hear comments about this one. I seemed to know what was going on then, but it confuses me now. ;-; Do any of you relate to this experience? Do any of you have a simular experiance? And is there some sort of term for a thing like this happening?

When I was 9 months old, I got a new baby brother. I had very clear thought at a young age, (Don't ask me why, because I do not exactly know. I could have explained it to you before I turned three though.)

I disliked my little brother from the moment I met him, I really liked being alone and I did not feel like the thing between us as siblings would go very well. I remember feeling jealous, and thinking that he was greedy. After I first met him, I remember leaving my body, *Which went on with life as if I was still in it.*  and coming back to check on myself. If a day was going well, and I saw myself playing well with my brother, I would return. I did not stay in my body constantly until I was a little over two years old, one day I saw myself playing with him on an inside plastic swing, and felt like going back.

Although this does not happen to me anymore, there was one instance where I was in the air, watching my four year old self walk home with my mom from pre-school.

Another thing I have a habit of doing is reminding myself of my age before something shocking or new happens in my life. I told myself I was 7 before something tragic happened in my life, as if I was marking the date.
