It's definitely breaking a habit, I just wrote an entire article about this on my blog called "Breaking Old Habits". Personally I would have to weigh my options if I was normally a good sleeper and was losing sleep, but as it stands I have not slept well in the last 10 years.

Every night right as I fall asleep I feel like I am dieing and jump up in a panic right after dozing off. I have seen several doctors about this and none have any answers. The best way I can describe it is that I feel like I consciousness is being snuffed out and I fight it and wake back up. The OBE attempts have actually helped me and this has not been happening as much.

Anyway, have you tried OBEs during the day after you have had enough sleep?
#252
That makes sense especially in the context of projecting without even trying. I have read that people who project for a long periods of time get to this point because they change their energy.

Thanks for sharing and spreading the word and congrats on your success. I think this is some very important work you and others are doing. It will take some time for the earth population to catch up with people who already realize the potential here. People resist change by nature.

QuoteWhat??! dont understand.

What don't you understand? If you believe in heaven you will go there. If hell you will go there. If you believe in evolving beyond both heaven in hell you will do that. This statement was relative to physical death, sorry if I wasn't clear.

Here are two that work for me.

Hemi-Sync Support for Journeys Out of the Body - 6 CDS - $99.00

or

Brainsync - Deep Meditation - 2 Tracks - $8.95

Remember that these tracks don't magically make you have an OBE. They simply synchronize the left and right hemispheres of your brain and put you in the ideal state.

I have been listening to these for over a month now (brainsync for almost two years) and I am only able to pull off about 1 OBE a week.
#255
Try Brainsync or Hemi-Sync, I have had good results with both.

There seems to be some important data missing here. For example I see the 10 AM - 1 PM hour range you achieved more OBEs than any other hours but I don't see how many attempts were made at any given hour. It would only be natural that you would project more at 10 AM - 1 PM if you attempt a projection in the 10 AM - 1 PM hour range 90% of the time. It seems illogical to assume that you were be able to attempt an OBE during every hour of day and night.

I think there needs to be another column of data displaying the percentage or number of attempts made per hour or per day to make this data more meaningful.

Maybe you would find out that no matter what schedule you are on you are able to project or maybe the opposite, but without that column it's impossible (for at least me) to know

Not all beats are created equal, what did you try?

QuoteSo, that means, that the collective would have created these places called "Hell" and "Heaven"? That means that it does exist?

Yes, Heaven and Hell exist. The thing is you don't have to stay there. You put yourself in either place by your actions, thoughts and beliefs. You can leave either at any time or choose not to go at all.

QuoteAnd I know the physical world is molded by thought, it just takes longer. If you know about manifestation and the law of attraction, you would already know this. The Universe is expanding at a rapid rate, perhaps it is our thoughts expanding it. That is a wild thought.

You should read Buhlman's book "Adventures Beyond the Body". He talks about how the astral world is connected to the expanding universe is great detail. I picked the book up on amazon for like 12 dollars.

I have found that staying aware in both waking life and sleep both require that you constantly focus on what's happening or what you are doing without letting your mind wander. It just requires focus and practice.

A simple exercise would be to think of some habit that you have and try to change that habit. Through trying to change a simple habit you will realize just how unaware you are in waking life.

I had a very interesting experience with "Hemi-Sync - Journeys Out of Body - Condition C" last  night. I read about 20 pages of Monroe's - Far Journeys" and then at about 11:30 PM I got sleepy and I started off my night listening to the complete "Hemi-Sync - Gateway Experience - Introduction to Focus 10" track. This track completed and I started listening to "Condition C', but I was too sleepy and I feel asleep.

Before I go any further I want to share with everyone the difference between these tracks in the "Hemi-Sync - Journeys Out of Body" collection. This is straight from the guidance that comes with it.

QuoteThe Borderland Sleep State, Condition A

"Lie down, preferably when you are tired and sleepy, As you become relaxed and start to drift off into sleep, hold your mental attention on something, anything, with your eyes closed. Once you ca hold the borderland sleep state indefinitely without falling asleep, you have passed the first stage. You will know you are successful when you become bored and expect something more to happen."

Bob, described Condition A as "the ability to hold calmly in the borderland sleep state, indefinitely, with your mind on an exclusive thought." Continue using the Condition A support exercise until you have achieved this state.

The Condition A support exercise consists of Hemi-Sync audio-guidance designed to help you stay awake and alert. At 20-minute intervals, an extended reminder sequence refereed to as the "beacon guidepost" is repeated with additional reinforcing Attention/Concentration frequencies, and a short verbal reminder in Bob's voice, "remember your purpose...."

This exercise and all that follow are one hour in length and can be repeated automatically, if desired, by setting the appropriate controls on your CD player (refer to your owner's manual).

Condition B

Similar to Condition A, but with the concentration eliminated. "Do not think of anything, but remain poised between wakefulness and sleep. Simply look through your closed eyes at the blackness ahead of you. Do nothing more. You have accomplished Condition B when you are able to lie indefinitely after the impressions have faded away, with no nervousness, and seeing nothing but blackness."

The Condition B support exercise is identical to the Condition A exercise, without the repeating reminder sequences. As you begin to acclimate to this borderland sleep state, you will no longer need the reminders and they will simply get in the way.

Condition C

"Condition C is a systematic deepening of consciousness while in the B state. This is approached by carefully letting go of your rigid hold on the borderland sleep edge and drifting deeper, little by little, during each exercise.

"Condition C is characterized by the shutting down of various sensory mechanism inputs, The sense of touch apparently goes first. You seem to have no feeling in any part of your body. Smell and taste soon follow, The auditory signals are next, and the last to fade out is vision."

The Condition C support exercise, as in the previous two exercises, uses Hemi-Sync audio-guidance designed to help you stay awake and alert. At 20-minute intervals, the Attention/Focus/Concentration signals re replaced by Hemi-Sync signals designed to allow you to drift deeper and deeper into the borderland sleep state and reinforcing signals conducive to the out-of-body experience and lucid dreaming.

Condition D

"Condition D is the achievement of C when one is fully rested and refreshed, rather than tired and sleepy, at the beginning of the exercise."

The final exercise in the series switches to Hemi-Sync audio-guidance frequencies designed to help you move from a fully awake and refreshed state, into a state of deep relaxation. At 20-minute intervals, additional reinforcing signals are added conductive to the out-of-body experience and lucid dreaming.

Like clockwork I woke up at 4 AM for my bathroom run. I seriously think I have reprogrammed myself to automatically wake up at 4 AM because it happens every night now. When I woke up the headphones were still on and had been looping "Condition C" for the last 4 hours.

I went back to bed and fell asleep listening to "Condition C" again. I am not sure how much time passed but I ended up in a dream. I was in an unfamiliar room with a bunch of people I seemed to know in this dream, however in waking life, looking back on it, I don't think I know any of them.

The room I was in was like a huge sleeping area with several beds however it also resembled a classroom. I was at the front of the room where the chalkboard would be with someone that I knew in my dream (but not in real life), and I was trying to get some sleep. There were about 40 other men and women in the classroom part of the room partying there heads off. There were several long folding tables lined up and they were running back and forth between them.

This all seemed quite innocent at first and I was getting annoyed by it all because I was trying to sleep. Then for some reason this took a turn for the wild side and people started taking off their clothes. I looked at the person I was with at the front of the room and we both seemed a bit shocked by it all.

I got the idea that I was considered the prudent type by everyone in the class including this person that was with me at the front.

The wild party continued to spiral out of control and people ended up having sex. I then realized that I wasn't going to get any sleep and then for some reason every one's focus turned to me. I remember being picked up by several of the people and thrown right into the midst of this orgy. This is when I realized that the situation I was in was too bizarre to be real and instantly I became lucid in my dream.

I guess I didn't feel worthy or I chickened out, but I willed myself away from this sex party and thought about exiting my body. I was immediately back in my bed in the vibrational state. I think I had already transitioned to by astral body because I could see right through my eyelids and was looking at the wall beside me in my bedroom. I guess I chose the wrong exit strategy because I tried to raise my upper body up with my arms, kind of like a push up, and when I did, I ended up snapping back into my body. I woke up and opened my eyes and was facing the wall. How annoying.

What have I learned from all of this? I have learned that I can transition from a dream to a lucid dream and then from a lucid dream to out of body. I have also learned that I chicken out when thrown into a huge group of naked women in a dream. LOL.

Being aware is the key, but I wouldn't say that this approach is anything new.

Hi Graveyard,

Glad to see you here. I have read much on the subject and although I have only had 1 month of experience I do understand that it is indeed possible to create your own world in the astral planes. Robert Monroe talks in his books about visiting the planes above the belief systems and says that not only do people create their own worlds there, but these worlds actually become solid over time similar to the physical world. Monroe calls this area The Park and you can have you own place there and visit it any time you want.

According to William Buhlman, places like Heaven are beliefs which created massive consensus realities which really can't be changed by thought because billions of separate consciouses collectively keep them from changing. Then he speaks of higher energy planes that are totally non-consensus and these environments are easily changed by thought.

You actually create the physical world you live in now by thought.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards

David

I know you will succeed. I would really try not to over analyze it. First do it and then try to figure out how and why it's happening later. That's what I plan to do. Just a warning, once you do get out of your body ask for total control., clarity and awareness. I have a hard time controlling things in my limited experience and the instant I think of doing something it instantly happens.

QuoteWhen you say "technique" do you actually mean say.... this fortnight/month i will try... visualisation... OK!.. that didn't work.. move to affirmation based projection techniques... OR do you mean that each "technique" is say..."Climbing Rope"... no luck move to "Rise to the ceiling like gas"...no luck ... try using "Roll over, out of bed" technique for a month or so....

I basically try the exact same thing over and over for that two weeks. It may vary slightly, but not enough that i would consider it a new technique. For example there is one technique out there where a person places a mirror in front of them and then over time learns exactly what they look like and begin to imagine that image on the other side of the room until there consciousness transfer to it. I guess I fall somewhere in between what you have described above. I keep the fundamental technique which may be a mix of affirmations and visualizations and it may vary slightly from night to night.

QuoteI use a similar method to you to project (above)...though don't usually use the binaural beats... Are you finding them helpful??

The beats help drastically. They seem to force my mind into certain states.

QuoteMy most intense vibrations, and to me i suppose, closest projection attempts are when i am hitting a point (for you it would be involved in point (f) above in your method) where my concentration on my astral body is the strongest... In one attempt i even got a little confused as to which "me" i was actually inhabiting at the time... At times i 'thought' i was in my perceived double.. Vibrations were strongest when i was most confused...

I try not to think of any body at all when the vibrations start. I stay calm and then just feel myself doing something. For example when you go swimming you can feel your body floating in the water. I don't focus on the body itself but rather that feeling of floating away from my body. With the roll out technique I just roll out, like I would in waking life, no thought of body either.

QuoteTo you... is the amount of focus/concentration you have on your double, the amount of confusion about where you are situated, related to the likelihood of projection success?

I try very hard each night, several times to project, but my biggest hindrance in successful projecting is the amount and kind of work I have in my day job :). I deal with very complex code and huge sets of data and it's hard to focus and concentrate very hard during the day on something like this and then just flip it off like a switch at night. My mind races sometimes and I either fall asleep (lose focus) or I am so tired I can't focus at all.
#265
QuoteWhen you "thought" this.... did you think you ...the you now inhabiting your projectable body were rolling out, or is ALL focus off body/bodies at this point and 'you were simply thinking' -> "I'll now roll out of bed" and DONE you were out!!!

I didn't think of any body at all. I just thought about rolling out. Do you normally think about your body when you do things in the physical world? :). You just simply do it.

QuoteIs there ANY sense of weight in your projectable double or is it perfectly weightless?

Is there any weight behind the thought of "rolling out" or it this thought almost weightless?

I really was so shocked that I was out of body that I didn't notice whether or not there was weight. It's really hard to explain and my experience is so limited.

It's odd that you ask though because my last post to my blog I mention that I noticed something was wrong because when I sat up in the bed "out of body" I had no sense of ouch or body weight and it caught my attention. It made me snap back into my body immediately.

No problem, let me know you do. I am interested in hearing.

Thanks for the read astralrealmer.

QuoteJourneys out of the body condition A really must be helping

I still have to perform the normal techniques, but it seems to make it easier. The Gateway Experience is great too. I started out using it some and was very impressed.
#268
I was able to exit when in sleep paralysis earlier this month. I simply thought about rolling out to the side and it happened. I was then standing next to my bed, out of body.

Hi,

The CDs can be purchased here: Journeys Out of the Body Support - Hemi-Sync (Audio CD)

Thanks for the read.

Hi MrBones,

Thank you for sharing these past experiences that you had. You are exactly where I was about 1 month ago. I too was fascinated by it all and immediately began trying to induce OBEs. I have been able to experience 5 in the last month though very specific techniques that are readily available all over the web.

I am pretty sure that most everyone has experienced these things as children and as adults, and it seems that only within the last 50 years, people have slowly been catching on and realizing that these things are indeed much more than dreams. I am not saying that there have not been groups and people around that did know about this, but as a whole, society views this as a great idea or a nice science fiction story and nothing more.

It's interesting to watch, what I am perceiving as a slow awakening of the collective human consciousness to an hugely overlooked and fundamental fabric of existence. I am hooked and plan on spreading the word until the day I die.  I think that humans have so much unused potential that is about to be unlocked.

Glad to have you on board.

Best Regards

David

QuoteI'll make one too

Great idea, Let me know when it's up and running and I take a look and link to it.
#272
Thanks Stookie, what you have typed makes a a lot of sense. I have so much to look forward to and learn.
#273
I would say try for 2 weeks to a month on one technique.
#274
Yes, I did feel separate from my body, because each time I either floated out of my body over my wife or I rolled out to the side and was literally standing next to my bed. I was completely aware of what was going on.

Another difference about the OBEs is that I still remember them vividly as if what happened was part of my normal waking life. Most but not all dreams tend to fade from my memories quickly.
#275
Oh BTW, I read all of you posts the other day, very nicely written.
