Welcome to News and Media! / The BURNING Man

I have not been. It could be cool to go something. Are you going, runlola?
#252
Either I am getting older or everyone else is getting younger.
#253
I have had experiences in nonphysical places with bears, jaguars, cougars, wolf, and one of my more memorable experiences swimming with dolphins.

Hi runlola and selski!

I am still practicing yoga but not nearly as much as I would like.  It seems like life is just determined to keep me from doing it regularly, but I try to make time and at least do it when I get a chance. I always feel so much better when I do get to do it.

Hello!
I have not been around in a long time (if anyone remembers me) and the Astral Pulse popped into my mind recently so I thought I would stop by and see what has been going on. I hope everyone is doing well.

I have only seen the first movie. The others never really interested me enough to watch them, especially after hearing about how sub par they are to the first.

Personally I don't want to come back to this planet. Don't get me wrong, it has its good points but if this is all that there is ... yikes!

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Google Print

Ok, I see what you are talking about. That is pretty cool, but being useful would depend on what you want to do. If I am looking for a book about a subject then it does not seem any more useful. If I am looking for book that contains several different subjects then I can see it's usefulness.

I just looked at Google Print for a few minutes but I don't see anything amazing about it. Am I missing something? You can search for books on a subject you want? While Google Print makes it a little easier depending on what you want it is nothing that you could not have done before.

Check out Google Earth if you have not done so. That is pretty impressive.

This World is what we Experience and it's likely we will Experience it again after Death...

Do you say this simply because this world is the only experience you can remember at this time?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Witnessing the End of Days?

Namra, what leads you to believe that a Second Coming is going to happen in the next 15 years?

I always liked this quote:

"The moment you come to trust chaos, you see God clearly. Chaos is divine order, versus human order. Change is divine order, versus human order. When the chaos becomes safety to you, then you know you're seeing God clearly." - Spiritual Madness by Caroline Myss

In this life, change is constant.

I am 100% on my path just because I am. In my opinion we are all on our path 100%. To me it is not about always meditating and doing a certain thing. Even when I "get off the path" I am on it because some things make me become more aware of where I need to be and what I need to be doing. That to me is still "on the path" because those things are just as important because they bring about realization. So everyone is on their path, it is just that we are all on different paths leading to the same place.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Something I find amusing
September 06, 2005, 07:04:45
I find it amusing that on a forum such as this the spell checker does not recognize chakra as a word, yet Microsoft Word does.  :)

Everyone must start some where on the path to Truth. For some that starts with rituals, others dogma, etc. We are all at different points along the path and thus see things from different perspectives. Why are rituals, dogma, etc important? Because while it may not be the actual acts that bring about the results, through such things it helps some focus on results that they want. Whether energy, chakras, etc are real is irrelevant as long as they bring about the desired results.

Which can lead us to the question, What is real?

Dominatrix...
... does anyone know a dominatrix who's proficient in eastern meditation techniques?

Lola? lol

If you want more flexibility try doing yoga. No matter how inflexible you think you are, with practice you can become a rubber band ... well sort of. lol Plus you will feel a lot better. Mantra Girl's dvd is great.

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Meditations!
September 01, 2005, 07:59:08
I don't try to meditate for a certain period of time. I just try to go for as long as I can and then try to go longer to improve. Or I will go for as long as I feel I need to. It all depends on where and when.
#268
Thank you, lola.

The bound lotus position looks interesting. Why do you like it?

Indian style is what I usually use but I might experiment a bit now.  :)
#269
I am not even sure what half those positions are. I usually sit on the floor/ground with my legs crossed but sometimes in a chair. It depends. Usually in the chair only if I am at work and have a few minutes to meditate. I personally don't think that the position is all that important.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / What the heck is this?

QuoteIt allowed people to be personally involved with the STARDUST Mission and helps to promote public interest, awareness and support of the space program.

I think that says it all from the site. It is basically just to keep interest in NASA and the space program which has not been very high lately.

Cultivating anger is not a positive thing. If you focus on becoming angry then you will become a more angry person. Anger is hot and volatile. Anger is about losing control. Have you not read the countless terrible things that happen all because people got angry? You should be grateful you are not an angry person.

QuoteI am 25.  I have seen much more testosterone too, but as far as commercials go by a major corporation, I have not.

Ok, I got you now. True.

QuoteThere is a difference.  It seems like most men go into Banana Republic and ask to look like Will on Will & Grace because he thinks thats what ladies like.  He is NOT in his own reality and he will look like every other try hard out there, and he will probably come across as needy and insecure.  All I am saying is that the attitude of these commercials is that of "I make NO excuses for who I am, or what I want"  and that is what I am trying to say that most men have lost touch with.  You don't need steroid induced testosterone, but it helps to be secure with yourself and to live in your own reality with out making any excuses for going after what you want.

For instance, David Beckham can pull off the Metrosexual style because thats who he IS.  Hell, he practically created it.  On the other hand, every other dude in Europe that worships the ground he walks on and tries to dress like him is doing himself a disfavor.

Where I live most men are not like that. Granted they do exist here but they are in the minority. Instead here most people don't consider you a real man unless you own atleast one pick up truck. That is not me so I do my own thing. But does that mean that those that do own pick up trucks or like to be pretty are wrong? Maybe many of those do like to drive pick up trucks and do like to be metro regardless. Before more might have wanted to be metro but were afraid to do so because people would think ill of them, but now they can be themselves. But I guess the point is that most people are sheeple, just following the crowd with no real opinions of their own, and that is just sad.
#273
I don't doubt that your friend is aware of things. But your perception means a lot when dealing in such matters. His just does not seem to be objective. If you go looking for "negs" I guarantee you that you will find something negative, but that does not mean that it truly is.
#274
heheh How old are you? I have seen much more aggressive, ego stroking, testosterone generating bands and scenes. That commercial is watered down.

There is a difference from being a strong man and being a ego centered aggressive macho man.

What do you really care if a man wants to be "metro" or "macho"? Why does one have to be right and the other wrong? And what of the women who are aggressive? Does that make them wrong? There are no true stereotypes. Let everyone just be themselves.

Many times we think that which we do not understand is something to be feared and evil.
