Aleister Crowley hmm, im still trying to decide what i make of him. Ok he was a genius, no denying that i just find that it requires a great deal of effort when reading his works to see through his words to the actuall meaning. He did love himself which is also quite apparant in his books

I spent two days with his 'Magick in Theory And Practise' and i had to stop before i Had a brain meltdown.Pity because it was apparant to me that great truth and knowlege lay therin. However hes not the only man to master magic and there are others, less cryptical, to learn from. Maybe ill come back to Crowleys work at sometime, i dont know.

Contrary to what i have just said i did find the following works by Crowley easy to understand: 'Magick without Tears' Crowley on 'Meditation' and his '8 lectures on yoga'

Hey Fenris by peer to peer sharing i mean the likes of kazaalite v2.02 ,morpheous and other such programmes (remember the original called Napster?) These were originally meant for people to get music ond video for free but has extendened to all files including documents and software. It probably brakes evry copywrite law ever written but hey , reap the benefits! I recommeend Kazaalite 2.02 because its totally free from spyware/adware and is still a nifty programme. Footnote specific to Lysear's original question. I have yet to perform a spell that hasn't worked. My divination has sometimes been askew but thats a different topic. My most notable result thus far ( ive only been practising for three months - spend to much time deciding whether or not to give it a go) has been with a simple money spell. Please bear in mind it was not motivated by greed (allthough i dont think that would make a difference). It took me twenty-twenty five mins to do and gave me the sum of €3000.00 (roughly the same as $3000). It made a huge difference to my situation at the time and helped me greatly.

Hi Sylverwillow I stand suitably chastised. I find that with tarot as with most things esoteric or occult i have to focus on one or two things that i reasearch and deem better than others. Otherwise,if i generalise and study many types i find i get no-where. Im a beginner to the tarot but not to the occult so im going to try the Thoth deck. Thank you for the links ive allready bookmarked them.

Hey dont knock it ur on the right path. I personally had my first OBE's this way and its as good a way as any to get started. The problem lies in after time, if you havent had any more out of body experiences you will inevitably put it down to lucid dreaming, then a dream , then something you once dreamt about. Keep going and you wont need any validation as to what ur experiencing is real, you will know for sure .

The necronomicon is fiction yes. The simon edition is a workable system based on the necromican or so i am told. I personally wouldnt bother with either.

I only watched part of this programme as im not really mad about the guy but i do wish everyone would Get Off His Back!!He has harmed nobody and does what he does because he truly beleives he is still a child.So what? Leave him be. It is unfortunate that in this day and age everyone in contact with children must be under supervision but if mr.Jackson's intents were sinister, do you really think he would be proclaiming to the world what he does and saying it with such pride? He's a big kid with lots of money who uses that money to make little kids happy. I think thats a rare and admirable quality. After all, no-body calls Santa Clause a perve do they?

Have you tried peer to peer file sharing? There are quite a few lorebooks available in pdf format and some of them are actually quite usefull.

Unfortunatly i cant listen to my own voice like that. It sounds very deep and peacefull in the confines of my mind and i find self-hypnosis to be no problem.If i tried to listen to it on a tape however, it'd be all i could do not to burst out laughing!

Hey Adrian.
Just to let you know i have never had a problem with speed on any forum here.The longest ive ever had to wait is 2 seconds, timed it today.I live in Ireland and use a cable modem which i think is probably about middle of the road in terms of possible connection speeds.I am sorry that some people have trouble loading pages here but you wont here from the majority of people who have no trouble at all.

You seem to regard all magic as ritual magic.In this respect i would agree with what you say. It is time consuming and has no obvious advantages over chi/ki which by the way many people including myself regard as direct magic, or at least what empowers direct magic. To each their own of course but we are all using the same energies just in different ways and most people dont realise/will admit   that fact

HMMM... A big one for your first go.Manipulating the weather can have detrimental effects if your not carefull.You could quite easily disturb the balance of things.Just wondering kakkarot, how come you gave up after that one successfull attempt? It sounds like you have good potential.

Magic(k) works. Thats fact. Its the ability to change ones own personal universe (microcosm) or the universe outside of ourselves (macrocosm). One such method is the use of spells.The internet is a huge resource of information and can lead you to discover many things so long as you question everything and cross reference what you read with other viewpoints. There are so many paths you can follow and so many different opinions that the best thing to do is just jump in at the deep end and try a few spells yourself.

Start with simple candle spells.They WILL work. You may try to put the results down to coincidence but keep performing more and more simple spells until you are convinced.Theres only so much you can put down to coincidence! This will convince you that spells work much better than if I or anyone else tells you our spells work.

Hey all

Ive been meaning to start learning to use the tarot for a few months now and all the info ive gotten leads me to beleive that there are really only two decks worthwhile, thoth and rider-waithe (as Gandalf said).
The problem is i dont know which one to  choose.What advatages / disadvantages has one over the other.I would really appreciate any feedback on this. Also , does anybody prefer the large deck?
