I have the same login issues on my iPhone.  I also have trouble loading the main page.  Not sure about anyone else.  I also haven't had email notifications but need to play around with the settings.  Still very happy with the upgrade so far! 😀

Email should be fixed now. 

But still working on that login error - in the meantime if you click on any sub forum the login button should work fine from there.

You did it, Xanth!.. well done, I like the new look, too, I just don't see any tool bar, is that coming? I know you have your hands full. What is most important is that the board is still here ( whew! ) this was a close one wasn't it!

Not sure if we're keeping this particular theme, but yeah, the forums are working pretty good!

There are some glitches I need to work through.

I tried logging on via my Android phone and the login button errored out on the main page, but worked when you clicked on a sub page through.
Again, might be a theme issue.  I'm investigating. 

I'll probably add a dark theme at some point for people to choose which they would like, the blue (light) or a nice dark theme.
Always been partial to the dark themes myself. 

Now I need to add some new emoji's to these, but I think I'll do that tomorrow.

For a few minutes I thought you were shutting down the forum. I remember when Steve Pavlina shut down his forum.I think the Pavlina forum is archivedsome where. If something does happen hear I use the same name on SF ,bad caps and the hip forum.

No worries, I'll have the complete database this weekend. 
I'll do the conversion on it as fast as I can and, hopefully, we'll have a new forum working by Saturday night.  HOPEFULLY!  haha

More updates.

So the domain transfer is done.

Adrian is sending me the forum software and all latest updates on Saturday, Aug 26th.
At that point, the forums will go down.  BUT DO NOT WORRY - WE WILL BE BACK!

It might take me upwards of a week to actually convert the forum to the new SMF version - I'm hoping to get it all done on Saturday though.
However, the last time we tried running the update, it tossed us a bunch of errors.  So it COULD take me a bit, I'm ready for the challenge though!

I did receive an email yesterday for a reply to a post.   I haven't received those in a couple years!  

OH!! It worked!!

I found the admin section for where the "sending email" was hidden and changed it to the smtp server for my own website.
And I didn't think it worked, so I set it back.  *FACEPALM*

I'll go change that back now!  So the email features should be working now!

Can people let me know here if they're receiving emails now from the forum?  I made a couple changes last night and I'm not sure which one it was which did it.  haha

Ok so here is what is gonna happen.

My understanding is that on Aug 27, the forum will TEMPORARILY shut down, since our hosting company doesn't support the version of PHP which the forum needs.

Adrian is going to transfer everything to me and I'll get it updated to SMF 2.0.

The upgrade will wipe the add-ons and themes so the forum might look different.  All member accounts and posts should be fine.

The future of the Pulse is now! Well, a week.  Hehe

There might be a small blip in forum access between when he transfers the domain and when the forum will be accessible again.

Well, this may have turned out to be a "false alarm" this time. It is great to see how everyone came together to save a fantastic Forum that was near and dear to all of us. That kind of comradery is what truly makes this Forum "special"!  

What was killing me is the whole just allowing 20+ years of knowledge on this forum to just let it disappear quietly into the night.

I'll start on the upgrade as soon as Adrian transfers the domain. 

We'll get this place back up to snuff! 

We might even get better emotes! haha

I am just here after 2 days on this Sunday, sorry for the delay.
I just approved all the incoming registries for the Out-Of-Body-Boards, so all of you who registered should have access now to that forum.
Now I read it looks the AstralPulse will be saved then after all, which is great!
If it is in read-only mode we can of course always link from the OOBB forum to the links given then and create threads for it.
The OOBB forum will also remain there anyway and will stay, so it might always be a backup or an alternative then. Anyone can still register and I will do my best to keep that running.
I would have to get fit with the Admin stuff over there now since it's been about over 5 years since I created the structure and all of that but it should not be too difficult.
Anyway, since the Pulse (hopefully) will even stay in active mode I now see that there is no hurry then.

I *believe* I have some time now, the Aug 27 date, I don't think applies anymore.
In which case, I *WILL* get this forum software updated.  Hopefully, in doing so, some of the busted features - like the email system - might come back online. 

Ok!  So!!

Adrian is going to be transferring ownership of the forum to myself shortly.

I'm going to work really hard on upgrading the software to SMF 2.0, that will alleviate any concern the web host has with age.

Adrian and I tried to do this before, the database didn't want to convert... but I've been doing some reading since then and I think I'll be able to work through it!

I'm going to make sure the Pulse stays active!!  \o/

So, good news... Adrian might be giving me the forum to work with.  At the very least, I'll have the domain name, so that's something.

I'll keep you all apprised on what happens. 

Do we know if Adrian will be archiving the existing Pulse board in a read-only format that can be linked back to?

Hi Casey, that's a great idea and I've made such a suggestion to Adrian just now via email.
We can only hope.  At least with the forum in read-only mode, there would be little to no chance of it breaking. 

I'll advise what happens with that. 

Does anyone else know of any Astral related Forums that we can all continue on? One that preferably has the owner of the Forum as an active contributor as well. Throughout the years, I have sent PMs to Adrian based on Astral related insight and NEVER received a single response from him, even when I was a Moderator here.
I have enjoyed the years I was a member here. I feel bad that all the great info, experiences shared and aid to others that were searching for answers, will be lost forever.
Thank you to all here for being a part of this tremendous community. Many a great friendship has begun here on this Forum. It will definitely be sorely missed!

I had shut down the forums on my own website cause they were just dying a slow death.  LoL

I received an email from Adrian this morning with some bad news.
Unfortunately, due to the aging software which is unable to be updated without wiping out the site completely and the amount of money Adrian has been having to dump into the server and the hosting company for it, he's decided to shut down the Astral Pulse.

He said that the forum will shut down on or around August 27th.

So, please save whatever you want to save, because after that, it'll be down permanently.

For that, all I can suggest is to clear your browsers cache - otherwise a full browser reset might be required too.

Other than that, there's not much else anyone can do about that. 
Since the majority of people are not having any issues, this is most likely a problem on your end.

This question is for avid astral projectors with some first hand experience. From my research that I did many years ago I found that it is true, that the astral is linked to the afterlife, but my girlfriend doesn't think so. So I'm trying to find out for her. I like to out source my truth for things I don't know and understand. Just as I call a plumber to fix my piping, or and electrician to fix my electricity.  So I would especially love to hear from you if you had both a and NDE and a projection experience.  Any anecdotes would help a lot as well. Thanks.

Short answer: nobody can ever know.  Nobody has ever died (permanently <- that's the trick), come back and tell us what happens.  Dying and coming back ultimately means that you weren't dead and your awareness was still connected to your physical body.  What happens once that link is permanently severed?  THAT is the question.  Does it make a difference?  Well, it doesn't have to, but it certainly can have huge implications. 

Longer answer: The way I see it, no, that bit of awareness which you identify as you returns to the ONE.  We return to the whole of consciousness.
But that doesn't mean you cease to exist, you just cease to exist as your human experience... the Intent behind your choices in life also return to the ONE and makes consciousness become closer to Love.
