Ah the ol' new planet approaching theory.  Food for thought...

Did any of you who are not mormon realize that the LDS church also believes in this?  In the book of mormon it is called Kolob.  Thought that might bring up some ideas.

Theory of reletivity may turn out to be just that.  Just a side note on this topic, some physicists have very recently discovered that the speed of light may in fact not be relative.  By studying distant stars they have found that the light from those stars may have slowed down before actually reaching earth.  That too is still just theory, but research into that matter is currently being conducted.

My only statement is that any teaching that is founded on and emphasis the virtues of love and forgiveness as healing is a wise teaching indeed.  Buddhist or Christian, their cores are the same which to me emphasis's the truth of the message.

Is it possible to anyone that this is nothing at all?  Perhaps 11:11 showed up all over the place but it's only because you are now looking for it that you recognize it?  Sitting around and see that it's 11:08 so you anticipate 11:11 and then think it's a sign of something?  It stands to reason that if you picked something specific to look for throughout the day you will likely see much of it.

The foundation of mediation is it's simplicity.  If someone gives you a technique that requires that and training, it's not the best form of meditation.  I sit in the stereotypical meditation style.  This conditions the body to devote itself to the act.  Try and meditate laying down and you will go to sleep, because that's what you do when you lay down.  In devoting a physical position to meditation alone you prepare your whole self for the experience.  Then I simply take some deep breaths while relaxing, stare into the blackness of my closed eyes, and listen.  Nothing to it!

Love itself is the reward.  Demaning love in return for something isn't love at all.  There is only pure love and anything else is not a form of love.

All I know is this movie was without a doubt one of the most disturbing movies I have ever seen.  I wanted to walk out the first half hour and go kill myself.  It got good though!

I'm afraid I have to take a different approach then proving it to your friend... stop talking about it with him.  I know what it's like.  When I first got into it I wanted everyone to know because I thought they would be just as intrigued as me.  How wrong I was.  People (even friends) tend to think you are getting wierd or losing your mind.  It's rare that you actually many people in life who even know about it, let alone believe it is real.  The whole point of OBE is personal knowledge.  You cant take a camera with you.  It's not likely that your friend will ever understand unless something personal happens to him that gets him interested.  Let it be.  That's what these forums are for [].  So my advice is mums the word!

I too say that meditation is the answer.  During meditation often my guide will speak to me within 1 or 2 minutes, it's not difficult.  Relax, take a few slow deep breaths, clear your mind of all expectations, and listen.  Something you want to know... ask.  It's that simple.  You will know when you are thinking, and when you are being spoken too.  To me it's the most enjoyable experience there is, so good luck to you!

Good point Gandalf.  What signs exactly?  War, famine, disease, hate, lies, corrupt power?  Love, compassion, forgiveness, service, change?  All have been here since it all started.  Aside from being technologically advanced, specifically what underlieing virtue, good or evil, do we have now that we have never had before?  As for the Christian aspect of it all, many christians don't practice christianity... hm!  Did Christ teach that sinners are damned, or did he get his feet cleansed by a harlet and promise her salvation?  The only reason I can see for His second coming for the redemption of us all is because of all the hypocrites that preach and preach, then preach some more.  He never did like them much []!

Sorry to get all english majory on you, but when you write something you must consider your audience.  I'm sure that not all of us know what Sidhis is.  I know about buddhism and matra, but do not know how it would apply to Sidhism because I don't know what that is.  Could you give a short definition?  You did ask what mantras are, and basically they are chimes or hymes used in meditation to clear the mind, ie- uuuummmm, oooommmm, etc.  There are many mantras used in buddhism and all of them have certain fundamental meanings.  How this applies to something I don't know the definition of I cannot say, sorry!

Cube, I am most curious about your techniques to allow you to reach such stages.  I firmly agree with your experiment, for the simple fact that I believe that the only thing that holds us back from having an OBE is our own will.  There has never been a set time required to have an OBE, simply a set state of mind.  And being as the mind is the most powerful thing we know of, who is to say that it has limitations.  After all, if it is not restricted to the physical body, why would it be restricted by the physical sense of time?  My only hope is that you can give the likes of us a means of experimenting with you and giving our results as well.  It's not much of an experiment if only one person can offer input.  Further more, it is also my hope that your experiences and techniques are derived from the mind itself, and not from hemisync or binaural waves, etc, which are often used as shortcuts that do not work for everyone.  Your research would be much more verifiable if a number of people are able to conduct it with you.  Please specify what techniques you use and how they are done to reach (in theory) much faster states of altered conciousness.  If you truly are on to something then having a number of people being able to verify it would greatly increase the transition from idea to probability.  I look forward to your treatise!

The person whom I first heard about OBE experiences from said that it came natural to him, like Monroe (those bastards []).  Anyways, he said that often times he would be riding in a car or something and suddenly he could see his astral arm rise out of his physical arm, or he would spontaneously and awake get the vibrations.  I guess if it's possible to have one completely awake without trying, then it could be possible to have one in 10 seconds or so if you were trying.

Is 2012 just something in your name or does it apply to the year?  Because if it does I've heard A LOT of different ideas about this year, for no real reason, and each is completely different then another.  I believe that we are in for a big change soon, and I believe that follows along the same lines as what you have said, more or less.  I do not believe however that we have any reason to think we know when or under what circumstances that will happen.  Most info about all this stuff and anything relating to it, including religious, come from books.  Books written by man.  Mankind has explored only 1 percent of our entire planet.  If we are still so in the dark about this huge chunk of rock we live on which EVERYONE would agree exists, what would lead anyone to believe that we have the slightest clue what is going on in other dimensions, which not everyone agrees are even real?  I believe a change will come to enlighten us about such existences... but that would suggest that we know nothing of them. Specifically including who, what, where, when, why or how.

I too have had that same experience.  Without going into the bible I'd just like to share a promise that has been given to all of us- "Seek and ye shall find".  Most people who don't believe in spirituality or think it's some kind of silly joke often don't ever even try to explore if it's real or not.  They are merely content with believing it's a bunch of crap, so they see no need in even trying to see otherwise.  But that is not seeking.  If you would only seek, you would find.  Just food for thought!  Thanks for sharing Divine Traveller!

You are CERTAIN that we were not created by a higher power?  Is that somehow different then someone saying they are "certain" there is a God?  If there is a God, He would not have sent us here without some means of discovering the truth.  He would not let us live this life blindly without teaching us what it is for.  The bible, or rather it's underlieing message, has withstood the test of time so well because it has substance, meaning, and necessity.  Any book, bible or not, that teaches to forgive, love, and be charitable to human beings is a book the will withstand the test of time... because no other teaching is needed more in this world.  Some may have heard me say it before, so I apologize for the reiteration.  God is beyond the physical.  He does not need it to manifest His will.  Mankind expects answers from God on our terms, like seeing Him or hearing His voice.  He doesn't work like that, because He doesn't have to.  Our 5 physical senses are beneath Him, and are not necissary for Him to speak to us.  He speaks through the heart and mind, because it is in those two "organs" that peace is understood.

I'd say experiment on yourself.  Try holding them for a while one time.  Try exiting immediately another time.  I recently realized that one of the things that had been holding me back at times was all these other peoples posts and different ideas (including my own).  Everyone has their own techniques and excersizes that do different stuff for them, and I had been trying lots of different things.  Instead I should have been keeping it simple and finding what works for me.  You almost always hear about vibrations because it is really common when projecting occurs.  In that case, anyone who has never had an OBE expects them, and if they don't feel them they think they are doing something wrong.  I myself don't feel them, never have, but have found that I do not need them to seperate from my body.  Find what works for YOU.  It's a trial and error situation, but any stage you have reached once you can reach twice, so have fun with it and try new things.  Sounds like you're close though, so good luck!

I would also have to say just swallow.  You're going to get saliva, everyone does, it's the bodys natural function.  Just pay as much attention to it during trance induction as you would if you were typing on this forum.  I personally wouldn't recommend the tongue thing because that doesn't necissarily qualify as being completely relaxed, and after a while of doing that it can get pretty sore and throw you off more.  3 weeks is not very long to have been into this, so I suggest one important thing while on these forums... don't listen to everyone.  Each individual has their own ways of doing everything and their own beliefs about it.  Reading all these different responses from people can put expectations and a lot of unnecissary clutter in your mind, which you MUST NOT have if you wish to succeed.  I think your best bet would be to experiment on yourself and see what works for you, because trying everyone elses techniques could actually slow you down.  Often people complicate it so much that it's tiresome to stick with it.  Find something simple that works, and stay with it.  I would say stick with the NEW program.  I can't say it's helped me have an OBE, but I did have my first lucid dreams after I started, and those can be fun.  Good luck!

Never heard that arguement before (LOGICS).  Only God knows when it will happen and under what circumstances.  Not even the prophets of the LDS church (which I assume you are referring to) know when it is going to happen.  It is "believed" that we are the chosen generation to see it, but there is only ONE who knows.  I also believe that the terms have been misunderstood.  The mormon church is under the assumption that the world will end in a hail of fire and retribution.  To me this contradicts the very nature and message of Christ, even according to them.  I guess only time will tell.

Well basically if you have to question whether or not it was an OBE, then it wasn't.  In a lucid dream when you wake up you know it was an amazing lucid dream, likewise with an OBE.  You could have woken up and been excited about the lucid dream (because they are really cool) and thought it was an OBE.  Or it could have been.  In OBE many times you will come out of your body and see the room you are in.  Was that the case?  Also when you are OOB and re-enter it's a sudden experience, not a loss of lucidity.  Was that also the case?  Just a couple tips to help you desifer the experience, I hope it helps a little.

So basically ACID you use a sound source to help you along, and then MAYBE (you said it yourself) it takes 20 minutes... or 30?  WTF indeed.  Most people, especially beginners who have never had an OBE, take much longer to get anywhere in their training.  And to add to that not everyone has special sound sources (which I might add are over-rated and only work on some people), it often takes at least an hour to get somewhere worth while.  Many people, including myself, have tried the tapes and the "pink" sounds and the music, all designed to "guarantee" an OBE.  To say the least, in my case and I'm sure others as well they are nothing special.  I've achieved that MOST success with no tools and simple patience.  You give your way, I give mine.
