Bare with me while i try to respond to some of the points raised in this thread.

Economic development? Man i really have to laugh at some peoples naivite. Allow me to translate the PoliticianSpeak for you;

Economic Development= We, the rulers and saviours of your world are planning to give a load of Third World countries more loans so we can get them in more debt for the many years to come so they will have to grow cash crops to pay off the interest instead of growing food to feed thier starving millions (African farmers are forced to grow flowers for cash that end up on Western restaurant tables while Millions starve in Africa). Arent we nice?
Also, we will send in our capitalist corporations to rape thier country of minerals and oil and anything else that is worth any mony and give them pittence for it so we can make our much needed billions of dollars in profit to satisfy our greed for wealth and power. We will also give millions (a small percentage of our raping profits) in aid to these countries provided for by the general population so that we can cover up our blood sucking activities and therefore make sure our own citizens actually believe we are doing something charitablle. Arent we nice?
Oh, we almost forgot, we will sell these countries weapons, tanks and aircraft (making a tidy profit, and getting them in more debt) so that the puppet dictators our secret services have helped to install, can subdue any kind of uprising by thier freedom-seeking citizens. Arent we nice?

On Another note: It has nothing to do with religion really. It does though, have everything to do with a large amount of oppressed people who are quite obviously sick of thier countries being bullied, raped, and pillaged, causing the death of untold millions of innocent civilians all in the name of Western greed by capitalist corporations and governments.

Another thing: We force sanctions on Iraq for over ten years causing the death of 1 million children because they failed to follow some UN resolutions. Why, then, is Israel not being sanctioned in the same way when it breaks the, literally dozens, of UN resolutions that have been made against it? And why does America try to vetoe as many of these UN resolutions against Israel as it can (Over the years, there have been many UN resolutions put forth against Isreals  criminal actions, some got through (of which Israel ignores), the others were vetoed by ONE country (All other countries had voted against Israel), America. Of course it only takes one vote against to stop a UN resolution, lovely).
In a post in this thread there is a quote from Mr Shrub about Saddam saying;

"He's had 11 years to meet the demands," the president said. "For 11 long years, he has basically told the United Nations and the world he doesn't care."

Now lets change that slightly to;

"Israel have had over 50  years to meet the demands," the president said. "For 50 long years, they have basically told the United Nations and the world they don't care."

Powell also says;

"This time there have to be consequences for the failure to abide by those resolutions," Powell said during a round of television interviews.

Israel has ignored a LOT more resolutions than Iraq ever could. And they have weapons of mass destruction too....

Nice eh?

Terrorism will not stop until America (and other "western" countries) stop being an International Terrorist.

War Propaganda: Of course, i have also read how Saddam likes to drive nails into peoples brains and that he has a small penis also. Where does this information come from? The CIA, MI6 and Mossad. You dont really believe all of it do you? I am not saying he is a nice person, i am just hoping that not many of you are falling for the disinfo propaganda they are dishing out to try to make War more palatable to the rest of us.

Tune in next week folks, over and out.

McArthur on the front line.
p.s. i read in the paper the other day that the UK goverment has given 200 million pounds worth of tanks to Jordan as a sweetener. Originally they had planned to sell them on the open market. I wonder how many hosptials we could build with 200 million? (If youre not British you probably dont know how bad a state our hospitals are in).

Personally i take the view that the United States Government is a world aggressor and the unsavory activities of its secret services and its dubious foreign policies are directly responsible for the 911 attacks. Read some Noam Chomsky. Heres a link to a short video of him (i have copied&pasted the transcript and comments here)  at the BBC website, along with another article about Nelson Mandelas critcisms too; Wake up America.

Noam Chomsky - Full transcript
It is generally assumed that the September 11 terrorist attacks have changed the world dramatically, that nothing will be the same as the world enters a new and frightening "age of terror." There surely is some truth to that. The target on Sept. 11 was not Cuba, or Lebanon, or Chechnya, or one of the numerous other traditional victims of large-scale criminal violence, but a country with the power to shape the future, to an extent without historical precedent.
Nevertheless, I think there is reason to expect essential continuity: to expect policy choices to remain within a framework that is well-entrenched, modified perhaps in important ways but not fundamentally changed. One reason is the stability of the basic institutions in which decisions are rooted. But there are also narrower ones.

It is worth recalling that the war on terror was not declared on Sept. 11, but 20 years earlier, when the Reagan administration came into office, announcing that a primary focus of policy would be the war against international terrorism, primarily in Central America and the West Asia/Mediterranean region. The rhetoric was much the same as today. Many of the same people are playing a prominent role.

We know a good deal about the first phase of the war on terror. In brief, its commanders compiled a record of terrorism that vastly exceeds anything that could be charged to their adversaries, continuing until the present day. And they were not forging a new path. Twenty years earlier, John F. Kennedy had ordered his staff to unleash "the terrors of the earth" against Cuba because of its "successful defiance" of the United States, and they did so, with grim effects. Meanwhile senior statesman Dean Acheson announced that legal issues do not arise in the case of a US response to a "challenge [to its] power, position, and prestige."

When President Bush proclaims the right of preemptive strike against potential threats, he is basically adopting Acheson's principle. More closely, he is paraphrasing the Reagan administration doctrine that the US is entitled to use military force in what they called "self-defense against future attack," the official justification for the bombing of Libya. Current rhetoric about Iraq has earlier roots. A century ago Woodrow Wilson wrote that "Our interest must march forward, altruists though we are; other nations must see to it that they stand off, and do not seek to stay us." He was referring to the "liberation of the Philippines," with a ghastly toll. And Wilson was merely borrowing from Europe's global conquests.

After tragic experiences that we need not recount, efforts were made to construct an international order in which the powerful would not be free to resort to violence at will, on shameful pretexts that we also need not review. But it is now fashionable to hold that the framework of law and treaties that was laboriously constructed must be discarded in favor of a new principle -- which is in fact the old principle: the self-anointed "enlightened states" will serve as global enforcers, proclaiming a new era of justice and freedom under the guidance of "the idealistic New World bent on ending inhumanity," as the world's leading newspaper assures us.

A rich record is available that allows us to evaluate such pronouncements, which are all too familiar. The record can be ignored only by those who choose to have blind faith in the nobility of the leadership that pledges to drive evil from the world.

Others will prefer to examine closely what has been achieved in the name of "ending inhumanity." They will seek the reasons that lie behind the standard pretexts. To take one current case, they will discover that the reasons now offered for invading Iraq held with at least comparable force before Sept. 11. And that the reasons held with far greater force a few years earlier, when Saddam Hussein was being welcomed as an ally and trading partner by the US and Britain, who even provided him with the means to develop weapons of mass destruction. His worst crimes were then in the past, and well known; and he was a far greater threat than today -- facts that surely raise some questions.

Those who are not satisfied with blind faith should also listen to the words of high officials when they are not strutting on the stage. If they do, they will find that planners expect a "widening economic divide," so that the rich and powerful will have to develop more powerful means of control and destruction, which pose awesome threats even to survival.

We can choose to huddle under the wings of enforcers who proclaim their allegiance to the highest principles and values, or take responsibility for our fate, and that of future generations. The latter choice is far harder, but is the only one that can be contemplated by decent and honest people.

Comments by readers;

A voice speaking to the wind, reason flauted by facts, a lamentation to the humanity's inability to thus far to end the violence, greed, self centeredness at the core of individual and collective consciousness.
Don, USA

It is good to be reminded that Bush represents only 25% of the North Americans. His simplistic and dogmatic approach to everything he has dealt with since he became president has strengthen for me and many others in the 'ally' countries the image of the US as a nation that abuses its power, uses extremely hypocrite double standards, and has a total lack of respect for this planet. Many of Clinton's policies, including Kosovo, were also more than questionable, but it seems that every time the republicans are in government the US has to attack some Arab country. The shameful track record of North America's military actions started with its war declaration against Spain in 1898. They discovered then how to use lies (in this case the sinking of the Maine) to pursue their economic interests and they have not been able to change this attitude ever since. We saw it happening again in the previous Iraq war, when the false testimonies about the disconnected incubators proved to be decisive in getting the Congress' go ahead and the population's support. This can only be changed from the inside, by all those who did not believe they could make a difference by voting in the last elections, by all those who can understand that honesty is more valuable than a billion dollars. If only the moderate and educated North Americans were given more voice inside than outside the US.
Paloma Castro, Spain

Noam Chomsky's points about the War on Terror bring to mind the idea that the first victim of War is Truth. Unfortunately, most Americans' view of the world is "dictated" by what they see on TV. Tragically for Americans, this is a very biased view. As Americans remember the anger of a year ago, and the tragic loss of life, do they consider the thousands of innocent lives that have been lost in Afghanistan, Nicaragua, Haiti etc? Do they have in-depth coverage of the firemen who died trying to put out fires in Nicaraguan Hospitals and Schools that American planes bombed? Until we have a balanced view of the world, we can expect these tragedies to continue. Fortunately there are Americans like Howard Zinn, Michael Albert and Noam Chomsky, among many others, who help shine a light of truth in these dark times.
Simon Geraghty, Ireland

Well done! The essays were both thought provoking and important on a day such as today. If only we had Noam instead of George leading the US!
Laurence Kenney, UK

Great Stuff, I think these video essays should be delivered to George Bush's inbox, the man needs to know what everyone else is thinking outside of the US. Please post more Noam Chomsky essays and videos.
Chris McDowell, UK

"Unfortunately, most Americans' view of the world is "dictated" by what they see on TV. Tragically for Americans, this is a very biased view." As much as I am 'American,' I have to disagree. After visiting many foreign countries, this sort of attitude is prevalent in Europe, and its not hard to see why-- our president seems to think the US *should* be the world's policeman. But I assure you, there are plenty of people here in the US who are speaking out against the far-right rhetoric. I only wish to request that those seeing our president's actions and hearing his flag-waving speeches should not be so quick to attribute them to the will of US citizens. Many of us are doing all we can to stop them.
Henry Behnen,USA

Noam Chomsky is needed in the world as there should always be a reverse opinion so democracy can continue. However I lived in NYC at the time and never want to experience fear like that again. It may be selfish but we need countries like the US and UK to attack rogue nations so we can live our life in freedom.
Alan, Scotland, UK

Thank you for what seems to be a sane and unbiased view on the actions of the modern western powers. How though can we 'take responsibility for our fate, and that of future generations' when the systems that are in place and that are responsible for such behaviour are, as you say, so firmly in place. It seems that the situation is now getting even worse. In particular with the merging of new corporate media giants having an even greater influence on public opinion which ultimately lays down the borders within which politicians can act.(i.e. enough pro-war propoganda in the media can justify almost any war). As these new corporations are private money making enterprises (a proportion of which may be owned by politicians themselves) they will have their own interests which may not be in common with those of humanity in general. So basically my question (to everyone) is this: what can you do on an individual level to make things better when faced with such a powerful propoganda ! ma! chine.
David Williams, England

Very intereasting, these people all seem to have very valid points, and it's made me think, but why is everybody airing on the side of caution. It's very easy to do this a year on, but they all seem to have forgotten how angry everybody was a year ago.

One of the world's most respected statesmen, Nelson Mandela, has condemned United States intervention in the Middle East as "a threat to world peace".
In an interview with the US magazine, Newsweek published on Wednesday, the former South African president repeated his call for President George Bush not to launch attacks on Iraq.

Mandela on the US
Bush motivated by arms sales and oil
willy Cheney a 'dinosaur'
US responsible for Iran's Islamic revolution
US action led to Taleban
He said that Mr Bush was trying to please the American arms and oil industries.

And Mr Mandela, 84, called some of Mr Bush's senior advisers, including Vice President willy Cheney "dinosaurs".

He said that the United States' backing for a coup by the Shah of Iran in 1953 had led to that country's Islamic revolution in 1979.

On Afghanistan, Mr Mandela said that US support for the mujahideen (including Osama Bin Laden) against the Soviet Union and its refusal to work with the United Nations after the Soviet withdrawal led to the Taleban taking power.

"If you look at those matters, you will come to the conclusion that the attitude of the United States of America is a threat to world peace," he said.

Mr Mandela said that the US was clearly afraid of losing a vote in the United Nations Security Council.

"It is clearly a decision that is motivated by George W Bush's desire to please the arms and oil industries in the United States of America," he said.

He said that no evidence had been presented to support the claim that Iraq possesses weapons of mass destruction, while former UN weapons inspector in Baghdad Scott Ritter has said there is no such evidence.

"But what we know is that Israel has weapons of mass destruction. Nobody mentions that," he said.

The former South African leader made it clear that the only member of the Bush team he respects is Colin Powell.

He called Mr Cheney a "dinosaur" and an "arch-conservative" who does not want Mr Bush "to belong to the modern age."

Mr Mandela recalled that Mr Cheney had been opposed to his release from prison.

Here is a great page about Magical Protection that has shielding techniques for those interested and maybe to discuss the methods it mentions. Also if anyone else has a link to similar information/techniques please add the link to this thread.

That would depend on what they did. If they just touched you not much would happen unless you were very sensitive.

 Is a shield of light the best defense?

Some form of shielding would help, yes. There are others on this forum who are probably more knowledgable in this area but i would probably recommend the Middle Pillar excercise (see the topic on this forum).

Will they turn on others in the house? Children, spouse, etc....

It is possible yes. Keep track of any mood swings or arguments amongst your household, these can be early signs of neg interference.

One more thing... Would this occur regardless of whether or not a person projects. Does projecting just make one aware of what is actually happening?

There is a possibility that the extra energy generated by Astral projection could attract some feeder types but you can get neg problems even if you dont project.

Mainly because most people dont know how to shield and because they dont think they need to. People generally only start to think about shielding *after* having realized they have a neg problem. And if the neg has managed to entrench itself into the person then a shield wont solve the problem. It might prevent future attachments but the person still has a neg to get rid of.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / [}:)] THE TRUTH ABOUT 9/11 ?
September 03, 2002, 04:00:03
One of the questions i dont see get asked is "Why was America attacked to begin with?"

Here is an article that might begin to answer that question.

Shocked and Horrified

Larry Mosqueda, Ph.D.
The Evergreen State College
September 15, 2001

Like all Americans, on Tuesday, 9-11, I was shocked and horrified to watch the WTC Twin Towers attacked by hijacked planes and collapse, resulting in the deaths of perhaps up to 10,000 innocent people.

I had not been that shocked and horrified since January 16, 1991, when then President Bush attacked Baghdad, and the rest of Iraq and began killing 200,000 people during that "war" (slaughter). This includes the infamous "highway of death" in the last days of the slaughter when U.S. pilots literally shot in the back retreating Iraqi civilians and soldiers. I continue to be horrified by the sanctions on Iraq, which have resulted in the death of over 1,000,000 Iraqis, including over 500,000 children, about whom former Secretary of State Madeline Allbright has stated, their deaths "are worth the cost".

Over the course of my life I have been shocked and horrified by a variety of U.S. governmental actions, such as the U.S. sponsored coup against democracy in Guatemala in 1954 which resulted in the deaths of over 120,000 Guatemalan peasants by U.S. installed dictatorships over the course of four decades.

Last Tuesday's events reminded me of the horror I felt when the U.S. overthrew the government of the Dominican Republic in 1965 and helped to murder 3,000 people. And it reminded me of the shock I felt in 1973, when the U.S. sponsored a coup in Chile against the democratic government of Salvador Allende and helped to murder another 30,000 people, including U.S. citizens.

Last Tuesday's events reminded me of the shock and horror I felt in 1965 when the U.S. sponsored a coup in Indonesia that resulted in the murder of over 800,000 people, and the subsequent slaughter in 1975 of over 250,000 innocent people in East Timor by the Indonesian regime, with the direct complicity of President Ford and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

I was reminded of the shock and horror I felt during the U.S. sponsored terrorist contra war (the World Court declared the U.S. government a war criminal in 1984 for the mining of the harbors) against Nicaragua in the 1980s which resulted in the deaths of over 30,000 innocent people (or as the U.S. government used to call them before the term "collateral damage" was invented--"soft targets").

I was reminded of being horrified by the U. S. war against the people of El Salvador in the 1980s, which resulted in the brutal deaths of over 80,000 people, or "soft targets".

I was reminded of the shock and horror I felt during the U.S. sponsored terror war against the peoples of southern Africa (especially Angola) that began in the 1970's and continues to this day, and has resulted in the deaths and mutilations of over 1,000,000. I was reminded of the shock and horror I felt as the U.S. invaded Panama over the Christmas season of 1989 and killed over 8,000 in an attempt to capture George H. Bush's CIA partner, now turned enemy, Manual Noriega.

I was reminded of the horror I felt when I learned about how the Shah of Iran was installed in a U.S. sponsored brutal coup that resulted in the deaths of over 70,000 Iranians from 1952-1979. And the continuing shock as I learned that the Ayatollah Khomani, who overthrew the Shah in 1979, and who was the U.S. public enemy for decade of the 1980s, was also on the CIA payroll, while he was in exile in Paris in the 1970s.

I was reminded of the shock and horror that I felt as I learned about the how the U.S. has "manufactured consent" since 1948 for its support of Israel, to the exclusion of virtually any rights for the Palestinians in their native lands resulting in ever worsening day-to-day conditions for the people of Palestine. I was shocked as I learned about the hundreds of towns and villages that were literally wiped off the face of the earth in the early days of Israeli colonization. I was horrified in 1982 as the villagers of Sabra and Shatila were massacred by Israeli allies with direct Israeli complicity and direction. The untold thousands who died on that day match the scene of horror that we saw last Tuesday. But those scenes were not repeated over and over again on the national media to inflame the American public.

The events and images of last Tuesday have been appropriately compared to the horrific events and images of Lebanon in the 1980s with resulted in the deaths of tens of thousand of people, with no reference to the fact that the country that inflicted the terror on Lebanon was Israel, with U.S. backing. I still continue to be shocked at how mainstream commentators refer to "Israeli settlers" in the "occupied territories" with no sense of irony as they report on who are the aggressors in the region.

Of course, the largest and most shocking war crime of the second half of the 20th century was the U.S. assault on Indochina from 1954-1975, especially Vietnam, where over 4,000,000 people were bombed, napalmed, crushed, shot and individually "hands on" murdered in the "Phoenix Program" (this is where Oliver North got his start). Many U.S. Vietnam veterans were also victimized by this war and had the best of intentions, but the policy makers themselves knew the criminality of their actions and policies as revealed in their own words in "The Pentagon Papers," released by Daniel Ellsberg of the RAND Corporation. In 1974 Ellsberg noted that our Presidents from Truman to Nixon continually lied to the U.S. public about the purpose and conduct of the war. He has stated that, "It is a tribute to the American people that our leaders perceived that they had to lie to us, it is not a tribute to us that we were so easily misled."

I was continually shocked and horrified as the U.S. attacked and bombed with impunity the nation of Libya in the 1980s, including killing the infant daughter of Khadafi. I was shocked as the U.S. bombed and invaded Grenada in 1983. I was horrified by U.S. military and CIA actions in Somalia, Haiti, Afghanistan, Sudan, Brazil, Argentina, and Yugoslavia. The deaths in these actions ran into the hundreds of thousands.

The above list is by no means complete or comprehensive. It is merely a list that is easily accessible and not unknown, especially to the economic and intellectual elites. It has just been conveniently eliminated from the public discourse and public consciousness. And for the most part, the analysis that the U.S. actions have resulted in the deaths of primarily civilians (over 90%) is not unknown to these elites and policy makers. A conservative number for those who have been killed by U.S. terror and military action since World War II is 8,000,000 people. Repeat--8,000,000 people. This does not include the wounded, the imprisoned, the displaced, the refugees, etc. Martin Luther King, Jr. stated in 1967, during the Vietnam War, "My government is the world's leading purveyor of violence." Shocking and horrifying.

Nothing that I have written is meant to disparage or disrespect those who were victims and those who suffered death or the loss of a loved one during this week's events. It is not meant to "justify" any action by those who bombed the Twin Towers or the Pentagon. It is meant to put it in a context. If we believe that the actions were those of "madmen", they are "madmen" who are able to keep a secret for 2 years or more among over 100 people, as they trained to execute a complex plan. While not the acts of madmen, they are apparently the acts of "fanatics" who, depending on who they really are, can find real grievances, but whose actions are illegitimate.

Osama Bin Laden at this point has been accused by the media and the government of being the mastermind of Tuesday's bombings. Given the government's track record on lying to the America people, that should not be accepted as fact at this time. If indeed Bin Laden is the mastermind of this action, he is responsible for the deaths of perhaps 10,000 people-a shocking and horrible crime. Ed Herman in his book The Real Terror Network: Terrorism in Fact and Propaganda does not justify any terrorism but points out that states often engage in "wholesale" terror, while those whom governments define as "terrorist" engage is "retail" terrorism. While qualitatively the results are the same for the individual victims of terrorism, there is a clear quantitative difference. And as Herman and others point out, the seeds, the roots, of much of the "retail" terror are in fact found in the "wholesale" terror of states. Again this is not to justify, in any way, the actions of last Tuesday, but to put them in a context and suggest an explanation.

Perhaps most shocking and horrific, if indeed Bin Laden is the mastermind of Tuesday's actions; he has clearly had significant training in logistics, armaments, and military training, etc. by competent and expert military personnel. And indeed he has. During the 1980s, he was recruited, trained and funded by the CIA in Afghanistan to fight against the Russians. As long as he visited his terror on Russians and his enemies in Afghanistan, he was "our man" in that country.

The same is true of Saddam Hussein of Iraq, who was a CIA asset in Iraq during the 1980s. Hussein could gas his own people, repress the population, and invade his neighbor (Iran) as long as he did it with U.S. approval.

The same was true of Manuel Noriega of Panama, who was a contemporary and CIA partner of George H. Bush in the 1980s. Noriega's main crime for Bush, the father, was not that he dealt drugs (he did, but the U.S. and Bush knew this before 1989), but that Noriega was no longer going to cooperate in the ongoing U.S. terrorist contra war against Nicaragua. This information is not unknown or really controversial among elite policy makers. To repeat, this not to justify any of the actions of last Tuesday, but to put it in its horrifying context.

As shocking as the events of last Tuesday were, they are likely to generate even more horrific actions by the U.S. government that will add significantly to the 8,000,000 figure stated above. This response may well be qualitatively and quantitatively worse than the events of Tuesday. The New York Times headline of 9/14/01 states that, "Bush And Top Aides Proclaim Policy Of Ending States That Back Terror" as if that was a rationale, measured, or even sane option. States that have been identified for possible elimination are "a number of Asian and African countries, like Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, and even Pakistan." This is beyond shocking and horrific-it is just as potentially suicidal, homicidal, and more insane than the hijackers themselves.

Also, qualitatively, these actions will be even worse than the original bombers if one accepts the mainstream premise that those involved are "madmen", "religious fanatics", or a "terrorist group." If so, they are acting as either individuals or as a small group. The U.S. actions may continue the homicidal policies of a few thousand elites for the past 50 years, involving both political parties.

The retail terror is that of desperate and sometime fanatical small groups and individuals who often have legitimate grievances, but engage in individual criminal and illegitimate activities; the wholesale terror is that of "rational" educated men where the pain, suffering, and deaths of millions of people are contemplated, planned, and too often, executed, for the purpose of furthering a nebulous concept called the "national interest". Space does not allow a full explanation of the elites' Orwellian concept of the "national interest", but it can be summarized as the protection and expansion of hegemony and an imperial empire.

The American public is being prepared for war while being fed a continuous stream of shocking and horrific repeated images of Tuesday's events and heartfelt stories from the survivors and the loved ones of those who lost family members. These stories are real and should not be diminished. In fact, those who lost family members can be considered a representative sample of humanity of the 8,000,000 who have been lost previously. If we multiply by 800-1000 times the amount of pain, angst, and anger being currently felt by the American public, we might begin to understand how much of the rest of the world feels as they are continually victimized.

Some particularly poignant images are the heart wrenching public stories that we are seeing and hearing of family members with pictures and flyers searching for their loved ones. These images are virtually the same as those of the "Mothers of the Disappeared" who searched for their (primarily) adult children in places such as Argentina, where over 11,000 were "disappeared" in 1976-1982, again with U.S. approval. Just as the mothers of Argentina deserved our respect and compassion, so do the relatives of those who are searching for their relatives now. However we should not allow ourselves to be manipulated by the media and U.S. government into turning real grief and anger into a national policy of wholesale terror and genocide against innocent civilians in Asia and Africa. What we are seeing in military terms is called "softening the target." The target here is the American public and we are being ideologically and emotionally prepared for the slaughter that may commence soon.

None of the previously identified Asian and African countries are democracies, which means that the people of these countries have virtually no impact on developing the policies of their governments, even if we assume that these governments are complicit in Tuesday's actions. When one examines the recent history of these countries, one will find that the American government had direct and indirect influences on creating the conditions for the existence of some of these governments. This is especially true of the Taliban government of Afghanistan itself.

The New York Metropolitan Area has about 21,000,000 people or about 8 % of the U.S. population. Almost everyone in America knows someone who has been killed, injured or traumatized by the events of Tuesday. I know that I do. Many people are calling for "revenge" or "vengeance" and comments such as "kill them all" have been circulated on the TV, radio, and email. A few more potentially benign comments have called for "justice." This is only potentially benign since that term may be defined by people such as Bush and Colin Powell. Powell is an unrepentant participant in the Vietnam War, the terrorist contra war against Nicaragua, and the Gulf war, at each level becoming more responsible for the planning and execution of the policies.

Those affected, all of us, must do everything in our power to prevent a wider war and even greater atrocity, do everything possible to stop the genocide if it starts, and hold those responsible for their potential war crimes during and after the war. If there is a great war in 2001 and it is not catastrophic (a real possibility), the crimes of that war will be revisited upon the U.S. over the next generation. That is not some kind of religious prophecy or threat, it is merely a straightforward political analysis. If indeed it is Bin Laden, the world must not deal only with him as an individual criminal, but eliminate the conditions that create the injustices and war crimes that will inevitably lead to more of these types of attacks in the future. The phrase "No Justice, No Peace" is more than a slogan used in a march, it is an observable historical fact. It is time to end the horror.

In a few short pages it is impossible to delineate all of the events described over the past week or to give a comprehensive accounting of U.S. foreign policy. Below are a few resources for up to date news and some background reading, by Noam Chomsky, the noted analyst. The titles of the books explain their relevance for this topic.

"I´m back, to let you know i can really shake em down", Do You Love Me by Brian Poole and the Tremelos :)

Hi Kristen & Nita,

The middle pillar excercise is going great and i get really great results every day. Because i am sensitive and also used to energy work i can feel and sense the energy as i call it down and its one of the most relaxing, warm and soothing excercises i know of. I find that the two main important parts for me to get into a more receptive state during it is the deep, rythmic breathing and to keep absolutely still. Just doing those two things sends me into a trance state quite easily and i step up from there.
The other day while doing the MPE i had an experience i will try to describe, most of it was spur of the moment kind of thing. I got into trance and started chanting the god names etc- drawing down the Light from Kether- and curcuilating it around my body. When i send the ribbon of light around my body i visulaize building a kind of "frame" around me. For instance when doing the up-the-back-and-down-the-front part i strongly visualize an oval shaped ribbon of light building up about 2 feet from my body. Then i do the up right down left part. When this is done i am kind of left with a frame of a large egg surrounding my body (kind of like building a Dome tent before putting the fly sheet over the top, except in the shape of an egg). Then i proceed drawing the Light up from my Malkuth centre out through Kether and then showering down filling in the gaps of the "frame" around me. The completed process of this ends with me enveloped in an egg of white Light.
Anyway, i was doing this the other day and had no bodily sensations as usual (like floating in Mind) and could still sort of sense this presence around me but because i was in a higher state it was unable to affect me. For some reason i started calling on Archangel Michael saying "clothe me in the armor of the Sun" and was visualizing my body being covered in a kind of golden knights armor. A long time ago i was led in a meditation that lasted all day by some spirits and they had me visualizing myself as the "Yolk of an egg in a golden shell". This led me to have a vision of the Buddha within (long story) and has always stayed with me. I think the golden armor part came to mind because of the golden yolk of the egg- hard to explain.
I then started to fill this egg i had built with Light from my Solar (hence the Sun, and Michael) plexus (Tiphareth) like filling a balloon. What i did was to concentrate on the Tiphareth centre-ball-of-light then expand it to the size of my aura while visualizing anything in my aura being forced out. Kind of like an energetic form of auric exorcism.
As i was doing all this i "saw" (for want of a better expression) myself floating in some kind of void-space (like Outer space) inside this golden egg. I also sensed this entity on the outside of this egg clinging onto me and i was trying to shake it loose into the abyss i sensed myself floating above/In.
Thats the basics of what happened and im gonna keep the Middle Pillar excercise up daily from now on.

Kristen i agree with you about clearing and sealing space etc and think i should probably do the LBRP after each MPE session too. If you know of others ways of "sealing" please do share.
Thanks for the welcome back :)

Seeing as i have a book on holiday with me that describes that hand pose in a little more detail i´ll type some of it out for those interested. Its from the excellent book "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell and is describing what the various gestures mean on a statue of Shiva doing the Cosmic dance;

"Briefly: the extended right hand holds the drum, the beat of which is the beat of time, time being the first principle of creation; the extended left holds the flame, which is the flame of the destruction of the created world; the second right hand is held in the gesture of "fear not", while the second left, pointing to the lifted left foot, is held in a position symbolizing "elephant" (the elephant is the "breaker of the way through the jungle of the world", i.e. the Divine Guide) ; the right foot is planted on the back of a dwarf, the demon "Non-knowing", which signifies the passage of souls from God into matter, but the left is lifted, showing the release of the soul: the left is the foot to which the "elephant-hand" is pointing and supplies the reason for the assurance, ´Fear not´. "

"Fear not, for all rests well in God. The forms that come and go- and of which your body is but one- are the flashes of my dancing limbs. Know me in all, and of what shall you be afraid?"

I personally know two sensitives who have been approached by the US Govmnt to join some kind of psychic project. One is a white witch in NY who i havent heard from in some time, her shaman friend died in mysterious circumstances after saying "No". The other was approached by an official working at a famous US Museum  and was pretty scared for her safety at the time she was telling me about it. She was under the impression that the museum was being used as a front in some way. I see no reason why these people would need to lie about it.

The term "Master" is usually reserved for someone who is a Master of thier self and is used both in Eastern and Western spirituality. One of my favourite books is called "The Zelator" by Mark Hedsel and he referrs to his teachers as "My Master". This is not because that person is a Master over him but because one takes on a Master like a Master takes on a student. To have such a relationship with a True spiritual Master is indeed a boon (i know nothing of the guy you mention though so i can not comment). I can see why some dont like the term though.
The pose with the right hand held up is a well known Hindu hand pose which roughly means "Fear Not". You will see Hindu deities such as Shiva holding this stance as well as various Eastern Gurus etc. Its a little more involved than this but that is the basic meaning.

Hi James,
              an excellent book i am studing is called "Self Initiation into the Golden Dawn System" by Chic and Sabatha Cicero. It is a graded and careful system of spiritual attainment. The Middle Pillar excercise is practiced by a large percentage of Kabbalistic magicians all over the world. I am already getting quite positive results from it (for instance, i have a neg constantly around me but when i am in trance and doing the Middle Pillar exorcise i am somehow able to "push" this entity away from me. I´ll try to go into more detail about this later--im in an internet cafe and running out of time)
. Here is a link that describes it in detail, enjoy;

An anti-neg household protective device would be wonderful, and i think it is something that is much needed and something i have been thinking of for a while. Im not too sure about those Q link things because they dont seem to want to describe too much of how it works, caveat emptor. From what i have read it is basically a crystal matrix or something like that.... i find it hard to work out how that would have the effects they claim for it.
Electromagnetic Fields definitely affect negs in some way, especially if the field is pulsed. The stronger the better. The only problem might be with that is what kind of effect this would have on humans living within the pulsed field in the long term. We all live in a sea of various energetic fields anyway, but what im talking about would be way above what we are normally used to.
 I dont think it would be much use having it just around your house with a space in the middle because i get the impression that some negs could project into that space rendering the whole thing useless. If anyone knows how to create a pulsed EM field big enough to cover a bedroom i would be interested in knowing how to build a device that can do that. I think i should buy some physics books :)

p.s. if RB is reading this, or someone who knows more of what Robert was talking about, could you go into more detail about this device Robert was talking about.

Silver Birch says "love your neighbour as you love yourself", but we already know this dont we? This teaching didnt actually come from Jesus originally, it is in Leviticus, but Silver Birch didnt seem to know this.
Surely if this spirit was genuine it would have something original to tell us?
I think it only quotes from the Bible (which it suspiciously calls "your bible") when it suits it. In its teaching on Religion it has this to say;

"If you find there are some people who have all the benefits of communication with our world, but still adhere to certain conventional theological beliefs, then be sorry for them. Say a silent prayer for them because they are still only on the first rungs on the ladder or are in the half-way stage."

This got me suspicious straight away. "certain conventional theological beliefs"? And just what might they be that it is hinting at are somehow wrong? It doesnt say. What kind of positive message is that to talk about 2 billion peoples beliefs and treat them as though they all need praying for? It is basicaly saying that you should believe what IT says and not Christianity, Islam etc.
Of course, i'm sure this might appeal to those who dont feel Christianity has enough to offer, these are the people it is targeting. Good marketing in a way though. It uses the teachings of Jesus to attract people, then on the other hand attacks Christianity.

Buyer  Beware.

Thanks Nita,   i just sent him an email, lets see if he gets it this time. I am beginning to wonder about my email account and why certain people dont seem to be recieving them. Paranoid? Maybe. The silent phone calls i get arent helping.

I have given Romero my web email at too_free@yahoo.com because i wont be able to access my POP account from Spain.
If for some reason i have trouble sending or recieving emails, do you think he would mind conversing on these Forums?

Thanks again for your help.

As i think someone else stated, Trance is when your mind is fully awake but your body is "asleep". I put "asleep" in quotations because im not sure this is the right term. While i am entering trance my body starts to feel a little numb and heavy and eventually i "forget" about how my body feels as it lays touching the bed or chair. I never feel sleepy in trance, in fact my mind feels much more alert than ordinary waking consciousness. Other things i experience in trance is a warm, fuzzy pleaseant feeling that is hard to describe, and sometimes a floating sensation. Some of the deeper states of trance i have experienced brought on a dizzy free-falling sensation as though i was falling "into" myself.
I find that keeping absolutely still helps to enter the trance state, as well as some form of breath awareness meditation. I also try to Imagine that i am melting into my bed as my body becomes more relaxed, which seems to help.

The reason why a voice is not heard during the recording is because humans can not *hear* an electromagnetic field with normal hearing. But a magnetic tape can record the fluctuations in the EM field and play it back as a sound/voice.

also from http://www.ghostweb.com/digital.html

"Why is this important? Perhaps it provides us with some insight about why the digital camera is such an excellent device for capturing spiritual orbs and ectoplasm. The pixels are activated by light and produce a tiny electrical charge. The spirits are electromagnetic in nature and therefore are able to control electrical devices and the electrical charges that imprint the image.

Thus, it would seem easier for a spirit to enable a digital camera to capture its image because the spirit is electromagnetic in nature and the digital relies upon electromagnetic charges compared to the film camera and its silver-halide crystals process for imprinting its image."

#346
And there is more!

Robert, as well as other sources, say that bright Light is detrimental to negs. Robert states as an example of this in his book how spiritualists have to work in darkness for ectoplasm to manifest. He suggests that Light is detrimental to ectoplasm but does not offer a thoery as to why.

Here is why. Light is a form of electromagnetic radiation, which thus somehow affects the negs/spirits ability to manifest!

HI lucid,

i had a similar question a while back on the old forums when robert first told us about CIR. I'll repost it here;

I have a few questions i want to ask, and a few thoughts to share as i ponder my own questions.
Having tried the Core image removal technique a few times i am wondering about a few things. I actually caught myself *wanting* my core image to be hard to turn over (thus implying it was an attachment) because of my ongoing experiences with inorganic beings, and my *need* to get rid of them and feel *cleaner*. This technique seems to be of quite a high/deep level (IMHO) and i think it could definitely have some very beneficial affects on one's personal psyche etc. but how many people will be able to tell from a real CIA (Core Image Attachment :) talk about secretive eh? lol) and a *desired* one?

Forgive me if a ramble but i am trying to write this stuff down quickly before i lose track. In the book "Transcendental Magic" by Eliphas Levi (he was a 19th century Catholic priest turned Occultist) he says in chapter IV -- "We have said that there is no personal devil. It is a misdirected force, as the name indicates*" --there is a footnote to this statement which says---

"* Should, however, a decision of some future council affirm that the devil exists personally, i should defer because of my principles. I have said that the word creates that which it affirms. Now, the church is depository of the authority of the word: when it shall have affirmed not only the real, but personal existence of the devil, the devil will exist personally; *the Roman Catholic Church will have created it* "

Now, of course, Levi knew that certain beings did exist, but what i think he is getting at here is the creation of "Thought forms" or "artifical elementals", either by oneself, or collectively as a society.
Dion Fortune mentions this in her book "Psychic self defense"(Ch. 4- Projection of the Etheric Body) to quote a part-

"The next type of psychic attack which we must consider is that coducted by means of artificial elementals. These are distinguished from thought-forms by the fact that, once formulated by the creative mind of the magician, they possess a *distinct and independant life of their own,* though strictly conditioned as to nature by the concept of their creator. The life of these creatures is akin to that of an electric battery, it slowly leaks out by means of radiation. and unless recharged periodically, will finally weaken and die out"

The question i have in my mind right now is-- "Just how much of an independent life of thier own do these humanly created beings have?"-- are we 'ourselves' responsible (collectively) for some of the nasty negs that seem to be lurking 'out there'? If they are somewhat independent, are they able to realize their impending doom due to loss of energy and thus become 'thought created energy vampires' to prolong thier own existence? (for some reason i just had a thought about the film 'Bladerunner').
Dion then goes on to tell us of one of her own experiences where she inadvertantly created one of these beings herself, she says--

"I myself once had an exceedingly nasty experience in which i formulated a were-wolf accidentally. Unpleasant as the incident was, i think it may be just as well to give it publicly, for it shows what may happen when an insufficiently *disciplined and purified nature* is handling occult forces.
I had recieved serious injury from someone who, at considerable cost to myself, i had disinterestedly helped, and i was sorely tempted to retaliate. Lying on my bed resting one afternoon, i was brooding over my resentment, and while so brooding, drifted towards the borders of sleep. There came to my mind the thought of casting off all restraints and going berserk. The ancient Nordic myths rose before me, and i thought of Fenris, the wolf horror of the North. Immediately i felt a curious drawing-out sensation from my solar plexus, and there materialized besides me a large wolf. It was a well-materialized ectoplasmic form...... I had had enough experience of practical occultism to know that the thing i had called into visible manifestation could be controlled by my will provided i did not panic; but if i lost my nerve and it got the upper hand, *i had a Frankenstein monster to cope with*"

Now Dion had done this accidentally through the state of her mind at the time. My question now is, how easy is it for this type of thing to happen even to those not familiar with the occult?
I read a couple of weeks ago about a young woman shouting abuses at the Pope, it was reported that she was possessed, and the Pope blessed her etc but she just shouted back in a deep voice "See, not even your boss can control me"
I am also wondering about the "Speaking in tongues" phenomena of some of the more bizarre Churches. People will roll about on the floor talking in strange tongues, then after its over the congregation treat them like a celebrity because "speaking in tongues" is supposed to show you have been favoured by the Holy Spirit. Mass hypnosis, hysteria, self delusion, touched by spirit (what kind?) fake or a combination of these??
On a light note (sort of), Dion Fortunes materialization of the beast she thought of, reminds me of the film "Ghost Busters". Near the end they are on top of a Gothic building fighting the dark forces etc. my memory of it is fuzzy but for some reason they all have to "NOT THINK OF ANYTHING" keep their minds clear ("disciplined and purified nature"?). Unfortunately one of them fails in this task and thought of, what to him was harmless, Mr Marshmellow Man. And sure enough, a giant Marshmellowman comes stomping down the street. Do ya still think Ghostbuster movie was just for fun?
To continue, Dion had to re-absorb this created Wolf form before it severed itself from her, which she did manage. But how many times may this have happened to people, and they had not been able to control it and it went its merry way?

How does this relate to core image removal? Well, i have had a LOT of psychic disturbance over the past few years, i need not go into details, but this would make me wonder how many Image type attachments i may have. The main question i have is- how much does the persons state of mind affect what they find while trying Image Core Removal? What if someone believes they have an attachment of this kind, when actually they dont? Will one be created by thier belief- similar to Levi's devil? Or created in thought form similar to Dion's Wolf? How much of a mysticly trained mind does one need to recognize a real core image from a desired/illusary one?

This may just be me, but i *did* catch myself *wanting* the core image to be hard to turn over, because then i may be able to attack my attached entity, whether imagined or real. I hope this is taken in the way it is meant, as feedback not necessarily criticism, i know i have a lot of questions :)
One more thing for Robert. I have read that one of the highest reasons for Adepts that study the Kabbalah to use the Tree of life, is to enter the darker realm of the Qlippoth (sp?) to help release the divine sparks imprisoned there, and eventually bring about the Messianic Era. Could this and CIR be of a similar nature (as well as the Soul Retrieval by Shamans that Chromed pointed out in his/her post)? Are these also similar to delving into the dark recesses of our unconscious mind, or maybe even at the collective unconscious level? How much knowledge and training is required for such feats?
Migene Gonzalez Whippler says in her book "A Kabbalah for the Modern World"---

"It should always be remembered that all Kabbalistic work takes place in the Astral world, which is the realm of *imagination*. The Astral World is formed of the astral light which is the malleable energy used by kabbalists to *build his images*. Everything that happens in the material world is first formed in the astral. That is why *careful hold should be kept at all times on the imagination*, because every stray thought is building-material in the Astral world, and we can unknowingly surround ourselves with a slew of potentially destructive vibrations if we do not take proper precautions".

Those precautions include some of which you have mentioned about before Robert. Fasting and purification-- and also, "refraining from impure thoughts, avoiding contact with dead matter and refraining from sexual activities at least 24 hours before the *Ceremony* ".
The word Ceremony seems important here. If core image removal is working on a higher level, similar to working on the kabbalistic tree, is it not also a magical ceremony? If so, maybe some basics for casting a circle and/or Banishing rituals should be done before and after CIR, what do you think?

comments in either forum are welcomed!!

EURIKA!!!!!!

Man o man, this is exciting stuff. I said in another thread that anyone using the term "after-life" had nothing to teach me. HOW WRONG I WAS!

I KNOW how this form of spirit communication works!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If anyone has studied this and can point me to other peoples theories of how these voices appear on tape i would be HIGHLY interested!

Read my post called "Em, Negs and possesion" at the folowing url
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=&TOPIC_ID=1290

Now read the following article on how tape recorders work;
http://www.howstuffworks.com/cassette.htm

a snip;

"The tape itself is actually very simple. It consists of a thin plastic base material, and bonded to this base is a coating of ferric oxide powder. The oxide is normally mixed with a binder to attach it to the plastic, and it also includes some sort of dry lubricant to avoid wearing out the recorder.

This oxide is a ferromagnetic material, meaning that if you expose it to a magnetic field it is permanently magnetized by the field. That ability gives magnetic tape two of its most appealing features: "

I am so excited i can hardly type....  spirits (good or bad) are using thier ability to somehow affect the EM fields to leave apparent voices on magnetic tape!

please comment!

OK well i read some of the material and have a few things i want to comment on;

1. Any spirit that refers to "The Great Spirit" has having a gender (i.e. He, HIs Him.) is not very evolved IMO.

2. I dont like the way this "spirit" calls the medium it speaks through as "my instrument".

3. A lot of  questions put to it are not answered directly and it seems to dodge the question like a politician. Let me give one example;

Q:  "Was the body of Jesus crucified?"

A: It does not matter. What matters is what Jesus taught. You will go on arguing forever about what happened at the crucifixion.
I cannot prove what I say about that, and so I will not attempt to answer your question. I do not like to condemn others. That is not my mission.
etc etc
---------------------

No real answer there. Why couldnt it just say the truth (if it actually knows it)? I see nothing wrong in Truths, but Silver Birch seems to.

This spirit says its mission is to share spiritual knowledge that has been lost for centuries, yet from what i have read it has shared nothing new at all. I cant find one piece of knowledge that i have not heard before. I will keep reading. Sorry for my skepticism but life experiences have taught me to "test my spirits" carefully. Just because a Being exists on a dimension other than the physical doesnt automatically mean it is Enlightened.

If you disagree with anything i have said above then please provide a teaching by Silver Birch that is not already known, or something it has said you believe to be profound. I will be glad to take a look.
