Santa Claus in the fire is a neat one. Are you sure it wasn't somebody's uncle trying to bring his nephew an exciting Christmas and encountering unexpected circumstances? (like...fire. lol.)

I've seen also a "Michael Jackson on my toast" picture. The toast itself was sold for BIG MONEY on e-Bay, as Michael Jackson had toasted his projection on the bread right before he was announced not guilty on one of his recent trials.

Welcome to Dreams! / Dreams of dying
June 02, 2006, 18:00:13
Sure! ;)

So, I've had only one dream I remember which, to my mind, shows a past life of mine.

I "awoke" in this dream as a completely different person, knowing all my background, the time I live in, etc. It is France, the time of Great Revolution. I am a young man (now, I'm a girl) in his late twenties, with proud face and curly , brown hair, and funny mustache ( :) ), apparently quite well-situated, because my clothes are all new and beautiful. And, what is the most interesting, I am a lover of Marie d'Antuanette.
I am getting dressed in my residence, putting on a dark cloak and a fine hat, decorated with a white feather. I've got a letter that says I have to meet somebody by Notre Dame de Paris, concerning a political matter.
(Well, being the lover of such a high - ranking person involves knowing some up-to-date information that would be useful for many foes of the monarchy)
I leave and walk alone in the dark streets of Paris (it is night), with an intention to visit a fortune - teller I know to get an advice if I should go.
He is an elderly man with white hair that fall on his shoulders. He is seeing me in a cellar-apartment. This man uses Taro, and while he is looking in the cards, his face grows grim and he says a traitor awaits me. I laugh, knowing I am meeting a companion, and go off to the meeting place, not to be late.
And there I am, going by the Notre Dame de Paris, off to the wooden docks by the river Seine. But I am a bit worried , because nobody seems to have arrived. Suddenly, there is a crack behind me. I turn around swiftly, and there stands my "companion" in a dark purple cloak, with his sword dragged out (a very beautiful one, by the way..With a golden handle, and not the medieval "cross type"; however, I can't recall the English name for it). Before I manage to drag out mine, he attacks and pushes the blade through my chest, right in my heart. The sensation I recall..amazed. I am looking at the place where the blade has entered, simply wondering what is going to happen now. Next thing I know, my body collapses on the ground, but my awareness is still above it, so I can watch and understand everything. My murderer takes my body by its legs and pushes it into the dark waters of Seine.
Then I woke up.
I looked up some images of the Notre Dame and was surprised to find out that it really is situated by the river Seine - I had never known that before!
I know this sounds like science fiction or something, but sometimes I do have such vivid dreams.

Sounds fun, to say the least! ;)

Thanks, kiwibonga, this makes sense.. As a matter of fact, I made this post just because these sensations became more often and intense (not unpleasant, but I still wanted to get rid of them)  after I started trying out NEW.
#355
The situation and the question that follows it are very simple. When I go to sleep with an intention to meditate before it, it is not rare that I feel sudden coolness touch the back of my neck, and, on other occasions, I feel as if mild burning was taking place on my back, just where my wings would be if I were an angel :roll:  ( I don't know how to describe this place more precisely in English)  - as if some coals were put there.
So, the question is - does anybody have an idea what could cause these sensations?

P.S. - I have no health problems.

I believe in reincarnation, and I am 99% sure that in one of my dreams I experienced the last events of my previous life. The dream was very real and vivid, with details of reality that I didn't know before.

Nay, if it not a secret, who do you suppose you were before? :)

Aliens will never manage to conquer the earth... Ducks will eat them!! All hail Ducks!

Oh, and I've also found conjurations useful.. They work like a programme for me that switches on the "everything's ok" part in my thinking.
#359
I've really got used with the sound and image hallucinations. Actually, I've become curious about them - like, what will I hear this time? And, the more I am NOT surprised about what I see, the less I see them.
However, touches usually are very sudden and unexpected, and real , and that is why I still find hard to cope with them. But I'm sure it will end with time..
#360
Traveler, thanks for the great idea! I've actually never tried it at the dawn...
#361
So, then it's called Butterfly position! I've been sitting like this by the tv or anywhere else where it is possible since...lol.  since I figured out how to sit! ;)

I've had several dreams of death and dying, all of them end with me waking up in tears, but this was the most detailed of them all.

I love this one,  Lola!

I think that when we experience such things, we cannot see them as simply fears.... Instincts overcome the knowledge.

I am sitting at the end of a long table - a lot of people are sitting at it, laughing, talking, and obviously having a banquet after some funeral I have attended , but don't remember. I cannot see the room we're sitting in , because clouds of dense fog are moving around the location.
Suddenly, I lose my breath, the sound vanishes - I see Death approaching like a reddish-grey lightning, and its face... Nor human, nor animal, nor - nothing, it expressed grim seriousness, and the only  thing that could be distinguished clearly was its eyes - large and black, like bottomless lakes.
Coming like a gust of wind over the heads of the funeral guests, none of which notices it, the Death is coming for me.
It snatches my soul, and, on my left side I see a black tunnel opening. I want to struggle, I want to shout, to beg not to be taken, but suddenly there is nothing...Silence and darkness.
Then I find myself in a strange place, like an astral plane where all the recently passed souls gather. Everybody is confused and scared, and everything is still covered with fog.
I wander around aimlessly, trying to digest what had just happened, when a woman comes to me - she wears simple, purple dress, she is in her 30ties, with wise eyes and long brown hair.
She says her name is Beatrice and that she will be my guide to higher realms, when I ask her if I could visit a person, my Love, one last time. She sees my grief and allows me to
1. come to him in a dream and warn him we will be allowed to have some last time together
2. and after that to be able to project in the material world for one day, from dawn till dusk.
The next morning I am standing by my Love's bed, waking him up. We meet, we embrace each other, we are so happy to see one another, yet crying bitter tears, for we know I will have to go as soon as the sun falls.
We spend the beginning of the day walking around the city, pretending it is a normal day, and then we take the train to go to the seaside.
There we are standing by the sea, holding each other close, and looking at the last rays of the setting sun sparkling in the waves.
I cannot express the sadness we felt...
Over his shoulder I notice somebody coming - it is Beatrice. I know I have no choice, but my Love won't let me go... When Beatrice comes up to us, she simply says that They have decided not to separate a love so great and that I could stay.
And then we stand in the yellow sand under the flaming evening skies, amazed, crying with joy, thanking God for the miracle, while Beatrice literally climbed up the sunlight until vanishing in the Sun.

I think he means healing with energy, like in reiki.
#369
Umm, ok, my human mind is attempting to find an explanation for this...

1.Did the presence of the being seem threatening, was there an aura of dread apart from your own emotions?

2.If not.. Have you had a pet that has passed?

Actually, I never go *Giggly, giggly* around numbers, I just like how 69 looks - like the sign of Pisces, or a Ying-Yang symbol.

Annabel Lee     -   by Edgar Alan Poe

   It was many and many a year ago,
         In a kingdom by the sea,
   That a maiden there lived whom you may know
         By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
   And this maiden she lived with no other thought
         Than to love and be loved by me.

   I was a child and she was a child,
         In this kingdom by the sea;
   But we loved with a love that was more than love-
         I and my Annabel Lee;
   With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
         Coveted her and me.

   And this was the reason that, long ago,
         In this kingdom by the sea,
   A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
         My beautiful Annabel Lee;
   So that her highborn kinsman came
         And bore her away from me,
   To shut her up in a sepulchre
         In this kingdom by the sea.

   The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
         Went envying her and me-
   Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,
         In this kingdom by the sea)
   That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
         Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

   But our love it was stronger by far than the love
         Of those who were older than we-
         Of many far wiser than we-
   And neither the angels in heaven above,
         Nor the demons down under the sea,
   Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
         Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.

   For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
         Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
   And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
         Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
   And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
   Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
         In the sepulchre there by the sea,
         In her tomb by the sounding sea.

JABBERWOCKY

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

`Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jujub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!'

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum gree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood, T
he Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wook,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

`And has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Calloh! Callay!
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

I think that most people would like to levitate to fulfill their sense of ego - look at me, I'm flying, I'm a Superman!

I agree with Selski - though some of these positions may provide greater feeling of stability (and look cooler, too), it varies from one individual to other. Basically the idea is that you have to find the one position you are most comfortable in - if you cannot sit in the Lotus position, then don't! :)

By the way, unless you have very flexible limbs, Lotus can also cause some troubles. I know a woman who decided to take up yoga lessons, and in the first lesson she was taught to sit in the Lotus for some minutes a day. When she came home, she decided to practice a bit, sat in the Lotus and...guess what... her legs got stuck! In the end, she had to be taken to a hospital for a small operation that would free her legs...

I am not, of course, saying that Lotus is dangerous (  :grin:  ) , it might just not be suitable for physically inexperienced individuals.
