I've been thinking about the Greys and I was wondering why we have to leave our body to go the other planes but Greys can go to any plane without leaving their body.

Dear Pyro21,

I think someone's spreading some real inaccurate info

Dear personalreality,

I believe subtle energy mechanics such as projecting out of the body are so illusive that they can never be sufficiently taught in human language and as I said before - that these authors were just exercising good will above all. They should use what works for them but everyone else must take it on, on their own.

The spirit's true original form beyond the illusory dimensions of the physical and astral is to be a perfect shiny sphere, I believe.

Wow, that crystal is really cool, I too am interested in crystals and sure would love to find the right one for me. Thankyou everyone for all the advice, I like the beanbag chair idea, however I don't have one yet but will sure add it on my list of items. In the meantime I am probably going to try lying on my back without trying to fall asleep, keeping my mind awake and body asleep.

astralization,

Dear astralization,

I don't know if you feel the same way as everyone's spine is different,

but yesterday when meditating straight on my back, I figured that it becomes much more comfortable when I put a pillow under my legs at about the position shown in this picture.

In fact I highly recommend it.

Dear kurtykurt42,

that tempts me to mention the glass crystal ball I bought for concentration aid in remote viewing  :-).
I wouldn't spend a lot on esoteric stuff myself but it was only 9 € so i gave it a shot.

dear astralization,

my favourite is my beanbag chair roughly in that posture.

It's my favourite because unlike sitting straight there are no muscles tensed to keep me from falling and unlike lying down, my spine isn't stretched out but slightly curved forwards.
So my beanbag chair really provides the highest degree of comfort to me with a few additional bonuses.

Dear folks,

I'm looking for reports (not speculations) on meditation in the astral realms (incl. etheric/real time zone and such), what's it like and what the differences are compared to doing it in the physical etc.

Thanks

Dear personalreality,

i think it should be noted that we never begin to have OBEs, we only begin to learn to manage a basic download of memory from the dimensions.

Up til today I haven't improved my recall at all. I had an accidental OBE where i screemed upon reentry, providing full memory of the event. The next close experience was when i talked to some being in another dimension, came back and knew that I had just talked to someone, but i realized then that there was noone in my room and my mom was not in the house, so i resolved that i had just talked to someone in the dimensions.
Perhaps my astral self is so stubborn that all it wants is to have the highest possible experience even if that means that the experience can not be remembered afterwards.

QuoteI hit the window and fell down, which I thought was odd

have you read Peterson's book "OBE's & how to have them and what to expect"? chapter: "The Phantasy Trap" where he says that he often in the OBE state phantasized doing things like you would daydream in the real world but being unaware that it was so while it happened. One of the primary differences between IN-OBE phantasizing and IN-OBE actuality, he says is that during IN-OBE phantasizing, objects usually appear unrealistically solid and he couldn't pass thru them unlike in IN-OBE actuality.

They like to drink you, by the way, blent nicely and smoothly as protein shakes unlike their big, scaly friends who much prefer live youngsters prepared similarly to the way the chinese prepare dogs for consumption.

Dear folks,

Wake initiated lucid dreams and - "phasing" type OBEs sound very similiar to me especially when you read first hand reports http://www.dreamviews.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=79 . I haven' experienced any WILDs yet but considering the general population is unaware of the reality of astral projection or the difference between the dream world and the Astral world, could it be that what everyone considers W.I.L.D.'s are in truth astral projections?
I don't understand how one could control decide to phase into the dream state since consciousness is usually catapulted out of the body when the body falls asleep and the consciousness is still awake.

I usually explore as either a Jedi [Star Wars] or a Saiyan [DBZ], depending on my surroundings. But I guess those are both human more or less.

Dear kurtykurt42,

I would still consider that human.

I was thinking more of abstract forms such as being glowy sphere or a whispy cloud - something that doesn't resemble biological life.

Dear folks,

I was wondering if some of you use a form other than human for appearance during your projections.

Dear personalreality,

I agree with you in a sense that all the instructional books are really more good-will than actual help and all their confusing terms and descriptions may just cause more problems than solutions.

None of the normal "unhooking" OBE techniques ever worked for me, only going as close to sleep as possible and phasing into OBE or the indirect way of going to sleep with the inprogrammed reminder to waking up in the OBE state.

My personal problem is really the memory download during reentry, of which I was only 1 time succesful. In fact, I only know to have been OOB by having a certain 'feeling' afterwards that I know I don't get after periods of sleep.

Dear thirdeye26,

almost every OBE book deals on this and they will all tell you the same: that it is no more dangerous than sleep.

Your attachments such as loves, fears, relations will keep you hooked to that physical body unless some other entity manages to create a stronger attachment to your body. Usually this is not possible and at best, foreign entities may only be able to attach to body's lower chakras unless they're granted permission by the owner.

What people should truely worry about are the anesthetics usually given to people before surgery. For some reason they loosen the soul so much, that astral beings can steal the bodies from their owners. People and nurses are barely aware of this as a personality-change phenomenon that occurs a lot after surgeries.

try this:

Pretend to the best of your ability that you are willing to go asleep at that very moment.
Sleep is a program deeply embedded in our brains - when we lie down and decide to sleep, we send the brain a certain signal.
Try reproducing that signal as you're meditating in your favourite posture and this will effectively fool your brain into thinking that you are planning to sleep, so your brain will slow down brainwaves while your mind stays awake.

I've struggled for the last few months under the wrong notion I had, which was: "when mental activity is lowered, the body will begin to shut down and the physical mind will fall into trance". WRONG!
No matter how hard I focused and focused on ignoring intrusive thoughts, my brain would still be rolling and and firing up neurons to the nines which basically means - no chance in hell.
Not even my beloved third-eye focus trance induction method would work anymore.

So fooling my brain into assuming I'd be willing to sleep is the only truely reliable method I've found that promises a falling into trance will occur.

Great success to you all and stay the course!

Dear Chubysnow,

I experience the phenomenon every time and it's very strange - like a pulsating program that would repeat itself in regular intervals.

Sometimes these forms move from left to right, or grow until they take my whole view or shrink and then a new one replaces it and the cycle starts again.

The main reasons I can think of are electric impulses on the optical nerve or some subtle energy layer in the auric field.

Just got through meditating,  I was in a very deep relaxation.  Usually I get the ''stoned effect'', directly after.  Not only that,  but I also can still hear the ''ringing'' noise,  after I come out of my meditative state.  Not only am I super relaxed and hear this ''ringing'' while in meditation,  but it lasts for a brief while after.  Im totaly getting more use to being relaxed during meditation,  but not so sure what's the purpose of this ''ringing sound''.  Do anyone experience this aswell,  and if so, how can it be of any assistance with inducing the state for an OOBE,  or getting into a deeper relaxation so I can get to the state of having an OOBE?

Dear suu2010,

try prolonging that stoned effect, it works if you focus, for hours and it's real fun  :-D

Dear astralization,

i think Robert Bruce's book is a great instructional book and may just be the best choice as to what to read first.

On the information side,

there are also some real interesting occult books such as Charles Webster Leadbeater's "The Astral World, Scenery, Inhabitants and Phenomena".

And I've recently found two rather rare books (scanned e-books) that were written by mediums, who've passed by word some personal death & afterlife stories directly from the dead.

Robert Monroe's Far Journeys contains very interesting information and I've found that it was quite a "feel good" read for some reason.

Right now I'm reading Robert Peterson's "Out Of Body Experiences: How to have them and what to expect" which is instructional and contains many interesting tips. However I would consider this a rather secondary read but still worth while.

I think that it has to be said that all these books contain very different prospects and suggestions and it wouldn't be wise to rely on any of them.

Let me know if you're interested in any of those.

As title says.

And I'm having a lot of trouble trying to project. I lay down and relax, but don't know what to think about or focus on when lying there. I get as far as feeling weird sensations, dunno if it's a light trance, but that's it. After those sensations everything ends. Yes I'm a huge newbie and had to include a "help me" request. By the way, what is energy raising? I hear it a lot on these forums.

halp

Dear eyyoshi,

as mentioned before, focus will catapult you into the trance state or brainwave pattern that is necessary for succesful exit.
I personally recommend initially focusing on the spot between the eyebrows, and as one goes deeper, letting the focus become more and more effortless until there is no more physical point of reference required to maintain the focus. It is however very important that the focus be maintained, otherwise distractions or (day)dreaming will takeover.
Imagine you are hundreds of unorganized, stray power cables, and as you sit there, trying to go into trance, you take the cables and turn them into one, big strand that is your directed energy flow free from external intrusions.

Dear folks,

I've always been wondering what causes this particular relaxed sense of being stoned in the head when exiting the trance state after a while. And who doesn't know or enjoy that particular feeling. On some occasions it was so strong on me that I felt as tho I was breathing air fresher than fresh air! I used to always think that it was due to the shift from abundant beta & alpha down to theta & delta brain waves, however the feeling kicks in very slowly, suggesting that it may instead be a chemical release.
So I was wondering if it could be caused by a sudden spike in melatonin levels?
Many articles suggest that meditation increases melatonin levels, therefore aiding sleep.

Who's got more rote on this?

Thanks

I guess some of you will remember me.

I had decided to stop participating after I kept realizing the extend to which the internet (very subtle) acts as a prison for mind & spirit - something that in my opinion can only be experienced during longer periods of withdrawal from the internet.

It is certainly not a pleasant experience to me anymore - hanging around, on the internet, but the insatiable spiritual need to express myself to alikes and to assist our brothers and sisters on the journey draws me back to places such as this, again. So this may just be worth the price.
