How does that help me open my third eye?

Any number would be the opposite of zero.  Zero is nothing, so the opposite would be something, like 1, or 2.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / What Occurs in April 2004?

I can't help but wonder, why is it that these days tapping into the far reaches of human conciousness costs money?
#355
Is there a place with no time?
#356
I believe so too.  I would challenge anyone to find something that doesn't.  Not necissarily an object... you know, what's the opposite of a chair (although I suppose you could just say no chair)?  Can anyone think of one?

Why is it that tapping into the vast reaches of human conciousness now costs money?  I'll never understand that.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Planet X in Dream
December 26, 2003, 15:34:44
I too have had dreams about a planet, but it was Earth.  I dreamt that a very spiritual man was telling me that things were going to change.  I don't know if he was physical, but I do know that he wasn't from Earth.  As I was talking with him I found myself looking at the Earth, not actually on it myself.  Then it started to move closer to the sun.  On the side closest to the sun huge flames began to ingulf it, but the man assured me that it was not a bad thing.  I didn't feel worried about the peole at all.  It seemed like a natural event. And the Earth simply drifted away out of my sight.  This was JUST a dream though.  It might have some meaning to it, but it wasn't a profound OBE, just a profound dream.

I think it would be better to do a spell where you don't want money.

Welcome to Integral Philosophy! / life after death

Does it really matter if you believe in an afterlife or not?  If you do thats fine, but it doesn't change anything if you don't.  There either is or their isn't, but EVERYONE will find out the truth when that time comes.  Untill then, live life!

Because it is better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all.  If you are in love then most days are very happy.  And it must be a good thing if you are sad when it is gone.  Love makes people happy.  It makes people compassionate.  It makes people see the world in a better light.  There is nothing bad about love.  The bad comes from when there is no love.  Anything that makes people happier towards the world should never have to be questioned of it's purpose, only strived to attain.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / The Mothman
December 23, 2003, 01:19:41
I have not seen the mothman, nor do I know anyone who has, but have done research and seen a few things on it.  One thing that the movie doesn't address are the men in black.  Seeing the mothman was just a sign of the things to come.  It's the men in black that are the most interesting part.  In the movie (spoiler ahead) at the end when the bridge collapses, that is truth.  It did happen.  The strange thing is that after seeing the "mothman" a few people reported seeing a strange man, dressed in an all black suit and black tie and hat, "snooping" around the bases of the bridge.  Not a week later the disaster occured.  Also, it was very uncommon for the "mothman" to actually be seen in reality.  More often people would only have reacuring dreams of the mothman and what would happen, but it was the men in black that would actually be seen in reality.  In any case, I personally find the mothman to be the MOST interesting of all supernatural experiences in human history.  Since the movie it's more difficult to research the topic without coming up with movie pages and such.  I would further research the towns that the mothman has taken place in, rather then the actual events.  You may find more there.  I can't be certain, but I believe there is a different name for the occurances other than "the mothman prophecies".  Like "the calamatyville horror" or something.  Obviously not that, but I believe that it had a towns name in it, and not the movie title.  If you can find that you may find more info on the matter.

I have had it my whole life.  If I pay attention I can hear it right now, and make it louder if I want.  One thing I've learned, is that it's there whether I like it or not.  I've come to enjoy it though.  I focus on it while meditating.  It's my concentration excersize.  When the desire is to clear the mind, the noise can be a welcome aspect of focus.
#368
haha, Waking Life is a bad butt movie.  Definately gets you thinking.  If you watch it while shrooming though, wow, that's something else.

I meditate.  I sit and relax and think.  When I meditate I don't try and clear my mind.  Thoughts come at random.  Some are unimportant, but it's suprising how insightful you can be to yourself if you just listen to the questions and responses of your own mind.  This doesn't make any stressful situation go away at all, but each time I get a helpful idea about my life.  Also, when you are meditating, you get to focus that time on meditation and nothing else.  You don't have to worry about the stresses because they will be there when you are done.  It's getting to sit in quietness and do nothing but think for the time that you are using to meditate that makes it easier to deal with the real world.  Things like "I have to do this and this and this tomorrow, but that's tomorrow.  For now I have nothing to do but meditate."  That relieves stress for me.  Doesn't make it go away, just makes me better capable of dealing with it.

That sounds bad.  I would hate to have such horrible headaches like she does.  Doctors are funny because they are expected to be trusted.  The word of a doctor can always been depended on, right?  Well, after some surgeries and some research I've learned that a second or third opinion can make all the difference.  Where one doctor knows nothing, another doctor may have an answer.  I have a friend who is bipolar, and they give him every pill in the book for it.  I honestly believe that it's all the pills he's on now that's making him so messed up.  Don't get her on mood medication.  Headache medication is different though.  I also have a friend who has frequent migraines.  Sometimes she blacks out from them and always she gets incredibly sick because the pain is so intense.  She takes a tiny but powerful perscription pill and she says it does wonders.  It's not a pain killer, it does something like thin her blood for better circulation, or something.  Anyways, I'd get second opinions from other doctors.  The worst that can happen is that she remains where she is now.  As far as negetive entities causing it, I don't know much about those things.  Someone else will have to help you in that area.  Robert Bruce has a book called "psychic self defense", maybe that will help.  You could also e-mail him.  Good luck!

Kakkorot, that's just sheer ignorance talking.  You say that everything is a choice, then that would also apply to you being straight.  You said it yourself... "do straight people choose to be straight"?  I don't "choose" to be straight, I just am.  Is it physically possible to have sex with someone of the same sex, probably, if it aroused me.  But does that mean it's what I want to do?  The simple truth is, if you are not gay, and have never been gay, then we can't make any determining factors as to what a gay person chooses or doesn't choose.  The problem is, I know that I cannot experience what a gay person feels towards a same sex partner, and therefor I CHOOSE to accept that person for what they are.  You on the other hand are in the same situation, but you CHOOSE to seek reasons why it is not right to be gay.  Is your sexual preference your choice?  Did you reach a crossroads at some time in your life and decided to be straight instead of gay, though it could have gone either way?  Somehow I doubt it.  How can you possibly know if it's not just as natural for a gay person to feel gay as it is for you to feel straight?

There are also many other authors who have validated that direction means little to nothing when OBE are concerned.  Maybe it needs further exploration, but I doubt that the direction you are facing when attempting an OBE is going to be the deciding factor between success and failure.

I wasn't refering to anyone specifically.  But now that you mention it, it does kind of sound like you could use a sensitivity course.  Or maybe a sarcastics anonymous [:D]

I recall when I was a kid in the 4th grade there was a boy in my class who was very feminine.  He liked to wear little mermaid shoes and dressed up in womens clothes sometimes, and only hung out with girls.  He is now gay.  Even before he had an idea of what sex and being gay ever even he felt most comforted with himself when being feminine.  At such an age do you think that he chose to be gay?  That's just who he felt he was.  If anyone thinks that they know if it's ok to be gay or not, these people need to stop being so close-minded.  Untill you've walked in another persons shoes, and felt the things they have felt, then you can't determine anything about them.  Besides, why does everyone care who other people are sleeping with anyways?  Girl girl, guy guy, it's all still something that doesn't concern anyone but themselves anyways.  If you don't like it, don't do it.  That's the beauty of choice.  But don't critisize the choices of others, because they are just as free to make them as you are.
