I think you're right Awakened Mind. I'm kinda uncertain because, if it was a week after the experience... but 8 months... what bugs me is that it was a high ranked experience, not like walking by someone on the streets of a dream, or flying out through my window, it was very deep and transcendental (otherwise I wouldn't have posted it), and he was the only person that I saw.

Maybe the word 'prediction' is misplaced, because it was never too clear that I was being given a message of his death, was he still alive it would have been just a very peculiar character in a fantastic story, as I thought it was so far, but now it changes everything.

I confirm that I was worried about his condition after I woke up, thought he could have died, would have thought the same thing regardless of who I saw in that 'weird place', but checked the internet that night and the following days, he was alive and fine.

Could 'they' be trying to prove anything through me? They knew I would post that, and maybe knew I'd be posting this? Maybe I agreed with them that I'd be doing this, and can't even remember... This is crazy  :?

Excerpt:

"As knowledge increases, the attitude of science towards the things of the invisible world is undergoing considerable modification. Its attention is no longer directed solely to the earth with all its variety of objects, or to the physical worlds around it; but it finds itself compelled to glance further afield, and to construct hypotheses as to the nature of the matter and force which lie in the regions beyond the ken of its instruments. Ether is now comfortably settled in the scientific kingdom, becoming almost more than a hypothesis. Mesmerism, under its new name of hypnotism, is no longer an outcast. Reichenbach's experiments are still looked at askance, but are not wholly condemned. Röntgen's rays have rearranged some of the older ideas of matter, while radium has revolutionised them, and is leading science beyond the borderland of ether into the astral world. The boundaries between animate and inanimate matter are broken down. Magnets are found to be possessed of almost uncanny powers, transferring certain forms of disease in a way not yet satisfactorily explained. Telepathy, clairvoyance, movement without contact, though not yet admitted to the scientific table, are approaching the Cinderella-stage. The fact is that science has pressed its researches so far, has used such rare ingenuity in its questionings of nature, has shown such tireless patience in its investigations, that it is receiving the reward of those who seek, and forces and beings of the next higher plane of nature are beginning to show themselves on the outer edge of the physical field. "Nature makes no leaps," and as the physicist nears the confines of his kingdom he finds himself bewildered by touches and gleams from another realm which interpenetrates his own. He finds himself compelled to speculate on invisible presences, if only to find a rational explanation for undoubted physical phenomena, and insensibly he slips over the boundary, and is, although he does not yet realise it, contacting the astral plane."

Cool stuff! It could be called 'discomfort method for astral projection'.

I find it really cool how you're able to achieve astral consciousness just sitting like that.

I have to be very tired for it to happen to me. Last time it happened was going back home by bus. The passenger on my side turned on the fan, I was feeling cold, but was so tired that I just ignored it and kept watching the scenes go by on the window. Next I'm with eyes closed watching the scenes go by, nonsensical scenes. Wasn't even feeling my body anymore, but I didn't want to get too far, so I kept waking me up.

skippy: You can start off trying to bring back an impression from the astral world. Something like turn on the astral tv and watch it for a while, or turn on the stereo and pay attention to the lyrics of a song, or put a book on the desk and try to read while astral traveling. Anything that you try will help you gain more control and open the way for more interesting adventures.

You don't really have to think of how you're gonna do that, just keep in mind that you can do it while your body sleeps.

FrostyRose: Could have been  :-), I long to see them again.

Had this experience early this year, in which I saw actor Jack Palance (spelled correctly now) as a kind of mediator between me and God. It was a profound projection, and when I returned I searched the internet to know if he was alright.

Do you think it could have been a prediction, or coincidence?

He died on November 10, 8 months after I had that experience.

Woah, bounda, Goober: I'll put some of them in a box and mail them over

Doctorwolf: That's quite impressive! I don't remember having or even reading about multiple independent hallucinations. It must be something thrilling!

When I didn't know what was going on I thought one day I would see the devil and that would freak me out completely, but it never happened, and I had the chance to learn that it was normal and harmless. So today I also don't worry anymore, actually find them amusing.

knightlight: Green dwarf had what he deserved, damned creature lol. That story would look good on a comic strip, I can see all the scenes already.  :-D

Skippy: You've gone halfway already, if you can feel your astral body then it's just a matter of cunningness before you manage to operate from it. Have you set yourself for an experiment?

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: dream after image
November 25, 2006, 09:19:27
That's exactly what they are, remains from the last scene of your dream. They are technically called hypnopompic hallucinations, for they occur after one wakens up.
There are also those that occur while one is falling asleep, and are called hypnagogic hallucinations.

An interesting point is that those images that appear preceding the dream are more akin to common hallucinations, because they appear apart from the physical environment, while those that are seen after waking up are more similar to illusions, because they appear to change physical objects into something else.

Some religions say that if you see them before falling asleep they are clues of a previous life, and if you see them after waking up they might be related to future events.

there'll be no shelter here, the front line is everywhere

Try this too, while walking in the streets, try to perceive people as floating bubbles of light (I'm obsessed with that  :-) ). At some point it felt like everything went slow-motion.

At times the same thing happens with me, it feels like I have to hurry up or I won't be able to return. I don't know what to say to help you, we're in the same boat  :-P

It's not frequent, here's the post narrating the last time it happened: http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/index.php?topic=24433.msg205194#msg205194

One thing I do to remember dreams is to give a title to that dream as soon as I wake up, and count it using my fingers.

So let's say I had a dream about sailing on a boat, I name it 'sailing' and count 1, indicator finger. Usually I will remember to do this waking up after 3 dreams, but I've gone as far as remembering 8 dreams. It's been very effective.

Another thing that I do is to write pieces of the dream on a paper I have glued to the wall on my bedside. All I have to do is to grab the pencil that I keep attached to my bed by a rubber band, but I'm often too lazy to do that.
#364
You should do this more often. You're receiving this sensorial flood and gotta find out how to get some of this off your chest.

Write it all down, your impressions of the day, ideas, random thoughts, draw something unintelligible.

Hehe yeah, I suppose. Now I understand why you mention snow Talanay, actually I've never seen it, only in films and dreams. Remember I'm on a tropical country, december is summer, to be Santa Claus is a noble job  8-)

Snowflakes have different patterns why not dust, or humidity?

That makes lots of sense. I'm no specialist, the person who analyzed it (maybe he'd like to participate here), said that it didn't seem to be an optical effect, in the sense that it was unlikely to be a dust particle or a droplet reflecting the light, so it could have been a digital bug of the camera, an edit, or an energy burst.

I kinda gave up trying to figure out what it is, I like the energy burst thing, if it was a bug it would have happened again, and if it was an edit people would be able to tell. I can send the image to whoever wants to analyze it.

It's pretty impressive that you can see them with naked eye, earthbound. Sometimes I see white sparkles, but I guess it's normal. Once while in the astral I  saw a blue dot passing by on my bed, I tried to touch it but it was just a walking light, bi-dimensional. After the orb incident I had many dreams about orbs.

There are reports of Near-Death Experiencers and orbs: http://www.near-death.com/experiences/research17.html

My belief is that orbs can be, at rare times, a supernatural manifestation. Almost a year ago I unintentionally photographed a multicoloured sphere of light that brought my attention to the subject. At that time I had no belief in these matters, thought that paranormal images were for fools, so I had to reconsider some possibilities.

It was Christmas night, we were having a family reunion and I was taking pictures with my new camera. My father, who is deceased, always loved to have people around, and I'm sure we all missed him that day. Later that night, when I transferred the pictures to my computer, I saw this tiny thing on my head that resembled a pearl. I showed it to my mother and sister, they dismissed it as a simple reflex, but damn, that couldn't be a reflex, it looked nothing like a reflex or like anythin I've ever seen.

Since then I have taken pictures of rain and dust, but still can't find one that looks like what I photographed that Christmas night.

A photographer, member of the forums, analyzed the image for me and suggested that it could have been an out of spectrum energy burst that the lenses were not designed to focus.

The picture:

Have you ever had an experience of seeing little people around you? I would like to hear stories, specially how you felt about them.

I've had some few experiences opening my eyes while in trance and seeing small people dancing around in my room, it is always so funny that I laugh so much until I cry. Not physically, though, I wake up feeling like "wow, that was so cool.".

Once I was having this lucid dream and there was a nice music playing, we were all dancing and laughing, when suddenly I opened my supposedly physical eyes and saw a group of small people dancing on my bedcovers, some hand-in-hand, some just jumping around. I couldn't make out details, they were just like those cartoons made of black lines and a circle for the head, but they were chubby and stylish. It was such a great time.

One other time as I woke up I saw this tiny man that was a caricature of a famous talk show host, he was so small and chubby that he resembled a keg. He kept running and rolling on the floor as if he was running from a cat, made me laugh so hard.

I don't know what's so funny about them, but I read a couple of stories and people always seem to have fun seeing them.
#373
Indeed! Many fantastic stories here, very good thread. Wish I had something like that to relate.
#374
Don't want to sound like I know everything but I'd say yes, it is very possible not to come back to physical life, and it seems to be a personal decision, just like a NDE (near-death experience).

You will realize you have the choice to come back or go, but it's not as simple as to choose what socks to put on. There is an awareness of the amplitude of your decision, suddenly it's not about you anymore, but everyone that cares for you and the things to which you were committed.

Some people might think that it's very easy and peaceful to just die like that, it's not. It's like any other kind of death, it's probably even harder because you are totally aware of the whole process. To watch your body die is not one of the most pleasurable experiences.

There is a dreadful community that I sometimes check out, I've seen more than a couple of cases of young healthy people dying in their sleep, mostly girls. It's really not so uncommon.
