Every time I feel I might have defeated my fears, somebody has an experience like this and all my hopes are ruined once again...

If serious, this sounds terrifying!  :evilbat:  My first reaction would have probably been a SCREAM and then some serious bed beating...

I've heard something quite similar before... The fact that more persons claim thet this IS effective has made me to decide that I will try it tonight, too!
I'll report in case I find this useful.

That picture is fake. Why so? The man has no shadow beneath him, though he obviously should.

I make my dog sleep by my room - he snoars really loud. :D But I never leave the computer on - something in it sems to be broken, so it starts making sounds in really high frequencies, and they drive me crazy...

Welcome to Dreams! / Beautiful creatures
May 31, 2006, 19:17:36
I saw them in a recent dream, and still smile upon remembering them..

I don't really know how to call these creatures, because they were half human - half bird. Their bodies were covered with long, silky, purple feathers, their tips being light blue and golden. Though their torsos were those of human beings (covered with feathers, still), their legs, long and gracious, were those of birds, and they also had very beautiful tails, a bit like the ones of peacocks, but much more beautiful. They had bright eyes and beautiful human faces, but, instead of hair, they had exquisite crowns of feathers on their heads. They didn't have hand, instead of them, they had two pairs of wings each.
I saw them in a lucid dream, they were flying all around me and spreading an aura of peace and happiness.

And there is another dream I like remembering, also lucid. I found myself standing at the edge of jungle, by a large, deep lake, which reflected the peaks of nearby mountains. I somehow new it was in Nepal. In the highest mountain, I saw people moving, and I understood those were Buddhist monks who were moving around the most magnificent temple carved in the stone. It had the form of the face of Buddha, his lips, spread in smile, being the entrance. In this face, the third eye was also marked with a figure of a lotus flower, made of blue jewels, sparkling in the sun. As I was watching the temple, a really low and powerful noise started coming from the third eye. But it was not only coming, it became one with the mountains, the jungle, and everything was vibrating under the influence of this noise. It is impossible to describe what I felt.. Unity..
Then, I heard branches being crushed in the jungle. In one rhythm with the vibrations, large elephants started coming out of the green shadows, one by one, and they just kept coming, until about a hundred gathered at the shore of the lake. They didn't seem to notice me.
And, still listening to the cosmic noise, they kneeled in the water, ...drowning themselves..... But I wasn't sad or shocked about this, it seemed that they were..performing a ritual of some kind....And it was beautiful.
Then the noise increased, and I woke up..

The thing is I sleep in darkness. I almost never leave any lights on, and never in my room, because I don't want to be a slave of my fears. I feel, if I leave the lights on, I will approve that I am afraid, thus, it will be no closer to a solution of the problem.
I realize that the fears are irrational, yet, hard to fight with. I assume that the reason of them is the fact that I spent my entire childhood in a haunted house - however, the ghostly happenings never scared me, it were the nightmares I experienced almost every night. They ended as soon as we moved, but, apparently, they have left an effect on my mind.. Am I mad, or what?..

I need somebody to help me in a matter concerning fear.

Consciously I know there is nothing to be feared about and that I cannot be hurt in any way during OBEs. However, as soon as the darkness comes, I feel I fear it. And the worst is, I almost cannot help it! It is as if my mind had merged these two ideas, creating a message that "darkness=fear".
Thus, I cannot practice OBE's during night, because even falling asleep can cause difficulties..
In fact, I had the same fears in childhood, but then they were gone for a long time. However, as soon as I started to practice for OBE's, they returned. And none of my knowledge helps me, because in silence imagination runs wild and I start "seeing shadows & hearing sounds". The only thing that calms me down is to hear some normal household noises, at least my dog snoring, but, if it happens that I go to sleep later than others (and this is often now, as I am having examinations at the university and stay up late to learn), I may as well lay awake until the dawn comes...
I don't know, maybe this problem sounds silly and childish, but I still hope somebody has something to tell that would help my fears disappear. :)

And in the beach, I made "graveyards" - I would catch a lot of ants and then bury them one by one under little, round hills of wet sand, until I had a circle of graves around me, which I decorated with wild grass and seashells.
Basically, I was very interested in death and what comes after it.
#392
P.S. - That was my favourite game at the age of 3 - 5
#393
Yeah, poor me. :)

Speaking of childhood experiences... I'm sure that almost each of us has something interesting to tell.
For instance, my mother was freaked out, when she got to know that my favourite game is "death" - I would lie on the ground and imagine that a poisonous snake has bitten me and I am dying now. Sounds fun, doesn't it? :P
#394
Oh, then that's what it is called! And I thought I was mad since my childhood, or overwhelmingly emotional..
#395
Maybe he liked you, but was too shy to confess! XD

The Machiavelli personality test has a range of 0-100
Your Machiavelli score is: 64
You are a high Mach, you endorse Machiavelli's opinions.

Most people fall somewhere in the middle, but there's a significant minority at either extreme.

A brief note: Tried boxed nirvana 2 and found it really effective, I think I were out for some 10 seconds, and then messed up everything by moving.
Voices again - this time a really high-pitched voice shouted in Russian (! not my mother tongue, I don't speak it) - "So, you want to become a star?!"
And then some lower, more pleasant voices somewhere by my feet - "Well, why aren't you getting up then? "

I WILL get up quite soon, don't you worry about that! ;)

Until my online journal is ready, I decided to keep it here..

So, day three of very intense practice - night - about 01:22 AM

I meditate with binaural music, get into very deep trance, but I guess it was TOO deep. After an hour I woke up, feeling light vibrations that disappeared soon. I switch off the music and resume sleeping.

Then, I woke up at about 10:15 am. I switch on the music again and start meditating. After an hour, vibes begin, and, luckily, no more heavy heart beating. Suddenly, little light bolts start running in front of my eyes. I am partially separated, and having a lucid dream, in which I am floating over a park. I lose my focus, though, and find myself still lying in the bed, however, paralyzed. Then I hear a little girl's voice saying quite clearly - "Silver generation! Silver generation! Silver generation!" after which the sound of a dog panting heavily by my bed reaches my attention - and it is not my dog, as the door to my room is closed.

Then my brother threw something down in his room and I snapped out of it.

I will continue my practice this evening, and this time I will try the timer method.
