it can be a difficult thing to remember who you are in normal physical life while in a lucid dream ,and to remember goals you put forward when awake.also, many times it's easy to get caught up in the dream, and forget about goals you had when you become lucid.the goal you have must be something important to you, if you want to be able to leave the dream.if it's just something kinda interesting, but not all that important, you will probably end up forgetting about it.
when you discover that you have become lucid, you might want to stop and try to remember what it was you wanted to do.it also takes a bit of practice to become familiar with the lucid state, and not say "oh wow! look at that!", and next thing you know, you have completely forgotten your goal!
when you become lucid, try stating your goal or question out loud.this enhances and sustains your lucidity, and sets you in motion to completing your goal.if your lucidity is/gets fuzzy or fades, try saying "clarity now!", or something like that.it seems to draw upon your available power source and sustains lucidity.
if you want to "incubate" a lucid dream, just say to yourself before you fall asleep, over and over "I will become lucid", or something to that effect.it helps to do this if you awake in the middle of the night, or very early in the morning, and then fall asleep again.

once, in a lucid dream about a year ago, I encountered an african zulu warrior who was killed and has his eyes plucked out of his head! I'm not sure if that is a custom in some parts of africa. It might be the custom of the tribe they were warring against.
One technique to use if you want to know if a person or being is real, and not just a part of the dreamscape,is to simply ask them when you are lucid "are you real, or a part of the dream?".if they don't answer and/or stare at you with a glazed-over look, then you know that they are just a part of the dream, but if they answer you and say something interesting, then you can probably bet that they do actually exist outside of the dream.dreams don't lie.period.
on one occation I saw a girl about ten years old who was rowing a boat across the floor.I asked here "are you real,or part of my dream?".she said "no,I'm real! I'm here because I have issues with my father".
One another occation I became lucid, then travelled through a forest, until I came upon a group of people standing together. My deceased great aunt Barbara was there! she looked about 30 years old.I only knew here as an old woman. In life, she had a leg deformity which wasn't there in the dream.I said to her "you look great!".she smiled and we hugged.
I can say with confidence that the vast majority of people have absolutley no idea just how expansive our conciousness really is.

I just picked up a field guide to rocks and minerals (including cystals). It is part of the national autobahn (sp?)society's excellent series of field guides.some of the stuff in there is astonishingly wierd! almost surreal.it also includes information on types of stone (shale,granite,slate,etc.).

the tesla link is cool[8D].I'll have take more time to read it again. the idea of searching lightning strike areas for crystals and stones caused by super heated rock and sand (fulgurite) is intriguing.has anyone found anything that way? also, his idea of "electro-propulsion", and how the military and government want to keep that knowledge from civilians is fascinating.I'm going to look into that idea...
Tesla's mindset really resonates w/me, as I have gained a love of physics and experimental science over the past couple of years.and I have also always been a bit of a "rock-hound",so those comments about using tesla currents through crystals to amplify what he called "zero point radiation" (also termed chi, prana, eagles emanations, or electrodynamic field, depending on your cultural upbringing) is really interesting.I would like to try and put some of tesla's theories into practice.it's rediculous that the government and military want keep that knowledge to themselves- I won't stand for that,so they'll just have to come into my house and stop me!
when I was a kid I used to look for wierd rocks in the ballast on railroad tracks.I have actually found several interesting stones that way, including several fossils w/small crystall growing on them.If I can get my hands on a microscope I would like to see them closer.once I found a stone that had a purple crystal sticking out of it a bit.I couldn't figure out how to get the rest of it out w/out damaging it, though, so it sat around gathering dust until I eventually lost it! now I have no idea where it is.I might have tossed it outside years ago, or it could be in w/some other junk.
I am considering buying a metal detector so I can search for meteorites.there could be some bizzare crystals from another planet hidden in there! the site that descibes all the crystals and other stuff is cool also, but I'm running out of time today, so I'll keep track of the link.I guess I'm a "stoner"[:D].

about Adrian's comment-[:O]I didn't know quartz crystals grew that big! thats amazing! they must have quite an effect on people.it would be fun to experiment w/those,but I guess that unless you have a boatload of $, it isn't possible.I wonder if there's any pictures of those on the internet somewhere?
this is obviously a complex subject, so I'll have to learn more about it.it seems that the possibilities are virtually endless when used in combination and on various chakras.and I guess you could do more harm than good if you don't know what you're doing (which I don't, so I'll just have to read a lot about, and be careful).
I am particularily looking for something to help in gathering energy at a faster rate, because the usual techniques don't really do much for me.the reason could be because I am on anti-depressant medication (for chronic anxiety) at the moment, and they are notorious for lowering energy levels.perhaps there is a crystal that can aid in reducing anxiety and increasing energy levels. activating the chakras is barely even possible now, and I certainly can't project anymore.I used to be able to conciously project once in a while (I think I need more practice at that[:)]), and I used to have loads of spontanious projections.not anymore![:(!]kinda sucks...
another idea: I  get the feeling that somehow we haven't even scratched the surface as far as using crystals technologically.if quartz can be used to maintain set frequencies, and ruby rods can create lasers, I wonder what else is possible that is yet undiscovered, and if past civiliztions knew more about it than we do at the moment.

the levitation trick is done w/camera angles, and some voluteers acting amazed.I saw a website somewhere that described it in detail, and I was dissapointed that it was all completely fake.
david blane still has some real achievments, like that time he buried himself for a week-amazing!

.is always strikes me what a difference there is between religion and spirituality. If it were my experience,my interpretation would be that some part(s) of herself are telling her to at least be more open-if not believing- to and of these kinds of experiences, instead of being judgemental.I am not surprised by the fact that she is christian, as I have found many "good christians" to be very closed minded and very judging, if something doesn't fit into that particular belief system.
"Go home"-my interpretation is that of a higher self (the mother figure-kind of like a teacher or guide) telling her to re-discover who she really is.maybe she needs to ask herself-"do these experiences threaten the stability of my world view, and my view of what life is?"
I can tell her from direct experience (and I am absolutely sure I am not the only one!)that astral projection is not evil.It is a realization of our true nature, and a return to our true, expanded conciousness. It is an incredibly beautiful thing, that can help lead to the unfolding of a sense of compassion and love for others,as well as a love of freedom, and a generally expanded view of what we are.We, and I suspect, animals as well are made of light and vibration on various frequencys at the same time.this is what seems to create a percieved solid (lower vibration) and astral (higher vibration)bodys.
exploring these kinds of experiences could very well be seen as "going home".[:)]

I've noticed that most people who use drug-induced methods to alter perception reallydon't look too good.most look half dead, like they aren't as "alive" as those of use who rely on the only really "natural" way to explore altered perception-just you, yourself.no drugs,no alcohol, etc.I find it to be the healthiest way.I don't crave or miss those things, either.

Adrian-That's exactly what I was thinking![;)].seriously!
still interesting though.I seem to have an insatiable thirst for knowledge, just as long as it is for the exploration, expansion and fulfillment of human potential, and expression of freedom, and love of life.not merely for rediculous, stupid, and corney social bravado (insert roll-eyes smiley here).[:)]

so is crowley worth reading? can anyone reccommend less self- destructive authors along similar lines of thought? some recent interesting reads: the tao of physics, by fritjof capra
the fire from within, by carlos castaneda
                  wheels of light (by ?)

WOW! really great stuff[:)].you have a real knack for capturing subtlties in human expression.your technical technical handling of coloured pencils is fantastic.do you work in layers?
I enjoy sketching landscapes in pen and ink, mainly due to the simplicity of materials-just a sketchbook, 2 or 3 pens, and your set to go! I also enjoy "abstract automatic drawing"(for lack of better terminology).it basically involves just putting the pen onto the paper and just start drawing.I don't think about what I want to do, each line/shape,etc "tells me with a feeling".do the same thing when adding or working in colour.I always just follow what "the feeling" tells me.I know it sounds wierd, but it definately works!I am seriously thinking of expanding and painting some of them, because they definately suit a larger medium.
I would like to see more of your work,so please keep expanding your website[:)].

I read in several amazon.com reviews about how he hides meaning in the language (and imagery?),and how it is important to "read between the lines" so to speak.
maybe a biography would also be a good place to learn more about his general approach to life and the pursuit of knowledge.
also,  I've read somewhere that he was considered "the most wicked man in the world", or something to that effect, at one point.how did he earn such a title?

I also thought that was a very arrogant thing to say, especially for such an "enlightened" person.I disagree that "normal" qigong isn't about anything spiritual.I'm not saying I know a lot about it, but I do know that EVERYTHING is/can be spiritual.that includes anything from taking a dump to studying qigong (what exactly is it anyway? the author only describes it in histerms!) to playing the guitar to staring at a rock, etc, etc ad infinatum. It is a highly individual thing. He also makes many other statements in that book that make me realize that the author is arrogant and severly closed minded as to ways to gain awareness- "I am the only one with the right way, everthing else is crap!"[:(!]

it's all rediculous...I don't even care about that stuff anymore, after reading most of the book.

REAL qigong does sounds interesting though...just as long as the teacher is legitamite. not just a communist cult dictator.

I think CONTROL is an imporatant element here.the idea is to be able to conciously induce the blending, and hold it until I decide to return to normal conciousness, then return to normal at will.any ideas on how this would be achievable? It would link in with how we are able to sustain lucid dreaming,or even normal dreaming.where does that energy come from? how can I learn to hold my point of perception in that "between" state? perhaps even to eventually return to that state anytime during the day, simply to become more aware, and explore other realms of existance and knowledge. also,as a musician and artist, the creative possibilities are limitless, due to the direct link w/an expanded conciousness.

one thing I've noticed about the mindstate while in non-physical bodies is the importance of focus, and emotional control.while here in the physical, our thoughts are usually rambling all over the place, however, if you bring that mindset to non-physical bodys and dimensions, before you can even complete a thought, or as soon as you feel an emotion, you are instantly off somewhere else, where you didn't origionally intend to go.
I had that 3d blackness thing a few days ago.I activated my brow and crown chakras, then saw and felt blue sparks of electricity and all kinds of lights.then a tunnel opened and I entered a lucid dream.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Locales?
March 28, 2003, 12:56:20
I also remember that...I read it about 5-10 years ago. I think locale 3 was a paralell physical dimension, that had these really wide,bus-like public transit vehicles.they were much wider than the vehicles we use.I think nuclear powerwas very common, but I'm not sure.
he got there by separating from the physical, then turning his astral body over so it was facing downward.and upon doing that,a black hole would appear at the head or foot(?) of his body.he worked up the courage to go through the hole, and then entered the body of his other self.
#445
I usually start by doing a lot of stretching, which makes the transition to the trance state much faster.I make sure I get out all physical tension.then I ly on the bed and begin the "sinking feeling".after a few minutes, my arms begin to feel heavy, and my body feels "wavy".I also wear earplugs, to block out all distractions, which keep me from getting to a deep level.after awhile, I hear wierd noises and echoes and stuff, and sometimes I activate the chackras.sometimes I try to visualize blinding white energy entering and relaxing my body from toes,to head.
#446
once I drowned in a dream.I had a moment of severe panic as water filled my lungs, then I actually felt peaceful.my last thought wasn't "oh my god,I'm dying!", it was "wow, look how beautiful the sunlight is when it hits the water".
I've also been shot in the head a couple of times.I felt a strong blow to the back of my head as the bullet entered my brain. It wasn't painful actually, just a strong, shocking feeling.then I blacked out and "died" (woke up)! I wonder if this is how it actually is?...
a couple of weeks ago I was blown up by a ten-foot-tall firecracker!,and strangly enough, my uncle (who is a "firecracker nut"),lit the firecracker w/a gigantic match about 15 feet tall!
I just blacked out instantly when it went off.
#447
unfortunately,I can't do that, since I have to use a library computer.[:(]I wish I could descibe it! Insertit was elongated and divided into 2 parts.
I'll post more information when I get it...[:)]

that's interesting.I never would have thought of that!
#449
that's a good point.I think the same thing-awareness is a continium, not just the 5 senses.you'll probably find that many people here feel the same way.
#450
I can relate to this:only those who are powerless purposefully seek power for it's own sake.I think it is important not too get caught up in the overly romantisized view of mental expansion, and self knowledge-it can quickly become self indulgent, and act as a cover for a depressed state of mind.
exploring ki,and astral projection, etc, should be about seeking truth and knowledge for the betterment of ourselves and everyone, not about a delusional cover for depression.
it comes down to self love and acceptance of imperfection.just be at peace in the chaos knowing that we are all imperfect, and we are all on a journey to perfection.don't get me wrong however, thinking that I don't believe in your talents.
your talents can be a very powerful force for  the betterment of mankind, and helping others is the best way to build self love and self confidence.
