Hi Danny
From the description of the event it Does certainly appear that you had a full OBE. You did not have much control during the experience yet that is not unusual. Many people find that they are unable to do anything else but float uncontrollably about their room when out of body. So don't feel bad about that. Also the ability to morph/phase/materialize through solid physical objects like walls seems to be an ability that not everybody has. I usually CanNot go through walls so try to materialize through glass or screen windows instead.
Regarding your question
QuoteAs you experience AP is it easier to AP the next time?
Generally, Yes it is. Yet each experience is different. It helps to prepare for the next OBE and here are two ways to do so.
1. Think out in advance what activity you want to do the next time you get out of body. Examples are try to levitate about the house or apartment, or attempt to fly outside.
2. Try using Affirmations when out of body to increase clarity and control. If the astral vision is weak or blurry use "Clarity Now!" or "Vision Now!" If you again find it hard to control movement then use "I want Control now!" You can make up and use as many affirmations as there are needs for. I use this affirmation during the waking hours of a day by repeating "Remember to induce and recognize an OBE and a lucid dream tonight". The more often you can repeat an affirmation the more likely it is to be effective.

Good luck  :-)

Hallo knitweeler
Yes, congrats. That was well done. And your written English Is just fine btw.
The physical body exerts a very strong pull on the astral body (or double body or projected body). So it helps to try to get at least 20 feet away from the physical body during an OBE.
It also helps to plan out in advance some type of activity or goal for the next OBE. Some examples of this could be visiting a nearby friend, observing that actions of a family member in the physical world or perhaps flying outdoors.

Cheers  :-)

Hallo Phil
Congrats on your success at getting out of body. I have found that short OBEs can be meaningful even if nothing dramatic occurs because the ability of deliberately inducing the astral / physical separation is in itself a rewarding experience.
The mid or late morning method of waking up and then going back to (semi) sleep is called the Waking Back to Bed technique (WBTB). I too have found this WBTB method effective, both for OBEs and lucid dreams.

Hi Ice
I posted over on AstralViewers for more than 6 months until the site shut down recently. I did not have that many posts (maybe 150 or so) and did not have a journal but I did post there a few times a week. Maybe we did not communicate directly in those forums but I clearly recall reading several of your posts.

Greetings .ibarra and welcome
Just so you know, -- vibrations (and sleep paralysis) are Not necessary to go out of body. Vibrations (and SP) are useful in getting into the right state of mind to go OOB and are also good indications that an OBE is imminently possible. But neither vibrations nor SP are really necessary.

My advice on this is to select one particular OBE induction method. Try using this method for two or three weeks. If it seems like you are getting close then stay with it . If the first method is not working then select another method and try that for a few weeks, etc, etc. Usually (= for the vast majority of people) one method will eventually work resulting in a clear conscious OBE inside of six months time.

Good luck  :-)

Greetings all
ArmyOfOne asked
QuoteDo any of you have this same problem?

Wow! What a great question!
YES. Absolutely!
It has been more than 15 years since I had my first deliberate conscious OBE and more more than 9 years since I became a member of this site (and other OBE forums). In that time I have met exactly 3 (three) people in person who said that they have had an OBE. (One of those people was my mother who said that she had a spontaneous OBE many years ago, but she is still not sure if it was some type of dream. The other two people I met On The SAME NIGHT during a party in 2002. One had a type of NDE while suffering a serious fall from a bicycle. The other claimed to be able to induce OBEs (more esoteric minded) but this person did not go into any details.)
So that's it for me. I spend up to an hour or more on this and others OBE related websites each day 'talking' with people on forums and message boards. Yet the total face to face time with people discussing OBEs (and NDES) is probably less than one hour TOTAL.  :? Yes one hour total in 15 plus years! Go figure.  :|

Well welcome and Greetings Chaos Mage
That intro actually read more like a magical spell or incantation! From your style of writing I might infer that at one time you practiced some of magick (?)
Anyways I look forward to reading your posts in the forums here.

Greetings all
I just visited the AstralVoid site for the first time yesterday. It certainly IS up and running nicely. Hopefully it Will fill the Void for the recently departed AstralViewers site (pun intended  :-D).
So I will be registering at AstralVoid in a couple days.

The ability to lucid dream is much like riding a bike as Once learned the skill is never really forgotten, even if the skill is not used for a long time. So while it may take a couple weeks (or months) to lucid dream on a regular basis again you are certainly going to be able to LD in the near future. Especially if you could at one time have as many as 9 LDs in one night (Yes that Is impressive!).

Hallo mcdwg
IMO a "phase' into a familiar RTZ location = an (ethereal/etheric) OBE.

Or as Ryan wrote
QuotePhasing and Lucid Dreams are only really describing the "how" you get into the non-physical.

Phasing means a consciously aware shift into the non-physical and lucid dreaming denotes a break in conscious awareness.

You projected.  That's all that matters.

Well said Ryan.

Hallo blaktatt
In my experience no two OBEs/Aps are ever the same. Sometimes strange things just seem to happen for no apparent reason.
Also the difference between a dream and an OBE/AP can be Very blurry.
Also there is a chance of experiencing Dual Consciousness of being in both a dream And an OBE/AP at the same time. This has happened to me in several experiences that I later concluded where 'overlapping", meaning that the experience was part OBE and part dream.
In the end the difference between an OBE/AP and a dream can be as simple as being fully lucid and Deciding whether you want to be in an OBE/AP Or in a dream (= lucid dream). SO, lucidity and awareness are the Keys to understanding what is happening at the time.

Hallo gilly
There Is a similarity between astral projection (and OBEs) and dreams. Yet there is also an important difference. Astral projection occurs on the astral plane (or astral planes as there may be more than just one astral plane). OBEs takes place on the ethereal (etheric) Plane which is the four dimensional extension of three dimensional space. Dreams take place on the dream plane. The consciousness leaves and exists outside the physical body during APs and OBEs. I am really not sure if dreams occur outside the physical body or not. ((Sometimes I believe that this is so and other times I think that dreams only happen inside a person physical brain))
Regarding your personal experiences - they may have been APs, OBEs or dreams or, more likely, any combination of all of these. The important thing is to try become lucid and aware so to be able to recognize what each experience is as the experience is happening.

Greetings Venus
Sounds like quite an experience, thanx for sharing it here.
From the description provided it appears that you visited some type of belief system territory (BST). A BST is a non-physical (astral or ethereal, or maybe dream) location that was created by and is inhabited by non-physical beings (spirits, discarnates, etc). Some BSTs are very modern looking while others are either futuristic or quite exotic.
While I have been to some highly unusual places, both in OBEs and in dreams, the place that you described is unfamiliar to me. Hopefully you will get a chance to return there soon.

Hallo Peterpanicz
There is an alternate idea to the general questions that you posted here. Read through some of the topics in the "Welcome to the Astral FAQ" forum. A whole LOT of info about OBEs and astral projection is to be found there. Then you can use as much of that info as you want for the school project.

Hope this helps  :-)

hallo Athymari
Let me put forth a possible explanation.
The physical body often 'interferes' with the astral senses during an OBE. This might be what happened to you.
Instead of going into detail about this phenomena I will instead refer to the works of Robert Crookall. Crookall was a British geologist who became fascinated by OBEs and began studying them in the 1960s. He wrote several books on OBEs and astral projection. Crookall read Many OBE accounts by people who encountered similar watery or foggy conditions (almost always in their bedrooms near their physical body) during OBEs. Crookall gave this watery/foggy condition a special name (which I can't quite remember now but it was something like the 'body-veil' condition). His theories about this made a lot of sense to me but it is too complex a subject to go into detail here. So if you are interested I suggest do a Google search for Robert Crookall and search for his books. They are well worth reading.

Hello axslinger and welcome.
And congrats for your first OBE are in order too!  Perhaps you would like to post a full account of that OBE in the "Welcome to Out of Body Experiences" forum. You're sure to get a lot feedback from the members.

Greetings gilly k
Sometimes people do hear strange noises, voices and other sounds when about to fall asleep. Usually those sounds are hypnagogic in nature, meaning that they are internally produced and are part of the process of falling asleep.
However, your experiences appear to be something different. So it could be that you experienced clairvoyant hearing of non-physical beings. This is actually more common than most people know. And although most  clairvoyant experiences involve Seeing a non-physical being (such as a ghost) sometimes the experience is only auditory in nature, meaning that the person hears yet does not see a discarnate being.

Hope this helps  :-)

Greetings Twinner and welcome.
Actually it is Very surprising to find how many people just end up in random and unfamiliar places during an OBE. This happens to me on occasion, suddenly I find myself going to a place that is totally new and unfamiliar. The most annoying part of these situations is that if I like a place and want to return there then I can never figure out how to go back. (?)

Hallo MegaDave, welcome over from the AV forum.
Too bad about AV. I haven't been there in weeks and assume it is permanently down (?)  :? Nobody here seems to know much about that situation. Still you will find that this site is quite similar and is in many ways better.

Greetings Mustbe00 and welcome.
The ability to communicate and 'talk' about unusual personal experiences such as OBEs is a Big benefit of being a member of this forum (even if the 'talk' is on a forum or chat room).
Regarding energy and being able to sustain long OBEs - I suggest you consider the Hindu art of special breathing known as Pranayama. I practice pranayama daily and credit it with supplying me energy that I use both in the physical world And with my occasional OBEs. This practice is easy and can be done just about anytime and anywhere, even when watching tv or reading.

Cheers  :-)
