I registered with that site just to post a reply to that thread.  I think Robert's work is amazing...he is honest, simple and scientific in his approach.  

In my personal communications with him I have found him to be a most sincere and kindly person.

Yes, I became familiar with it a while back (someone on campus was talking about it) and while it has some amazingly funny stuff, I can't get over how far to the left most of the writers are.  My whole thing is that I don't like extremists to far to the left or the right.

Anyway, I am going to go back and revisit it because it's been a while.  How did you find out about it?

First of all Tisha you shouldn't have chosen the avatar you did for I am easily excitable and I have, since a young age, had a thing for Elvira...well, at least for certain "parts" of hers.

Anyway, I think this is a very interesting topic.  I too want to say that the Bible, the "church" and Christ are very different things depending on who/what/how you are talking.  

Christianity has become very problematized and as a Chrisitan I feel bad that I need to "explain" myself.  The experience is a personal one and, to be honest, I don't associate myself with most other Christians, maybe on a fundamental level, but I disagree with on most points with almost every Christian I meet.

I guess if I have one thing to say it's this: don't judge every Christian the same and don't just me because of what others have said and done.

I too have had difficulty with this.  Your best bet is to find a larger image yuo like and to downsize it yourself.  If you want, you can just email it to me as an attachment and I will downsize it and then you can submit it to Adrian.

I think there is natural barrier that prevents these sorts of things from happening, at least a general rule.  Like someboday already mentioned, it is very difficult to stay in the real time zone while prjecting.  Hey, it's tough to project, period!  Anyway, so even if someone projects, they have to be pretty advanced to stay in the real time zone and, face it, most advanced projectors are not the kind of beings that want to go around checking out people taking showers and making love.

It's the same concept with the sexual drive.  People who don't have the self control to control these kinds of urges are not usually the kind of people with the mental and spiritual capacity to project.

I guess the bottom line is: don't worry about it.

Besides, there's always the astral police out there to take care of these kinds of issues...[]

I think this is quite common...well, you know what I mean.  My father saw me as "a ghost" once when I was a child.  I also remember Robert Bruce writing about a time when his nephew visited and had a succesful projection and RObert saw him float into his room through the wall and waved to him!

I think children are probably more apt to see someone out of body simply because they are more open to the "non-physical" (I put it in quotations because I think it's still physical, just "refined" for lack of a better term).

Cool story about the balls of light too...that makes sense (since we can shed our spirit bodies and are really point of light or consciousness.

I have read a few things by him and I find him interesting, but in the end, however, I have come to appreciate authors more like Bruce who are less enigmatic and more down to earth.

I have also found a few things Mr. Casteneda has said to be quite strange if not flat out wrong.  I think he once said that EVERY journey, in or out of the body, is only a journey in one's own mind...I found this to be some what of a turn off because I do believe in an objective reality, even if many OBE's really are inward journeys, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, I for one plan on reading more from him at some future time when I don't have so many other things on my "to read" plate.

We should try to find some of his most compelling stuff...exerpts and the like...and post them in this thread and discuss them, I think that would be compelling and fun.

I hear what you are saying, although I think you should look into the option of using capitalization and a spell checker...just kidding (I'm an English major and while I definetly don't use proper English here in the forum, I can't help but cringe when I see no capitals, etc...but I am trying to get over it! There is definetly something VITAL about the decisoins we make in this life and I believe we should always try to do what is "right" and "good" and virtuous.  In the end, however, God always knew what we are going to do, so there you have the great paradox...one of those catch-22's that defy our "dual" minds with a non-dual concept.

In the end it's a matter of choosing what is right and always seeking for that which is fullof light and love...and knowledge, for that will lead us to being able to create worlds and propagating the love and the light, like you mentioned...

9mm dangerous only up to 20-30 meters!  Sorry, but that's wrong.  I am an avid handgunner and although the 9mm (and any other catridge fired from a pistol w/ short barrel) is only fairly ACCURATE up to about that distance, it is a very HIGH-VELOCITY round and can pentrate car doors at that range still.  It would pentrate glass even after almost a mile or so.

Here is some ballisitc info (probably more info than you want or need):
Bullet: Winchester 9mm +P+ 115 Gr. JHP
Fired: Smith & Wesson 5906
Muzzle Energy: 399 FT/LBS
Velocity: 1,260 FPS

1,260 feet per second.  If you want to stand behind a plate of glass 60 meters away after someone shoots a 9mm traveling at this speed at your chest, then, well, you are a brave man.

Anyway, no harm done...we can all stand to learn a thing or two about ballisstics! JK!

Thanks for sharing your experience.  Regarding your question, the simplest way to put it is this (and it seems like you already underastand this): it's not as simple as physical body/spirit body.  There are multiple layers of consciousness and "spirit bodies" and therefore (and Robert Bruce talks about this in his book) you could be in your physical body and be looking at your etheric body and at the same time be in your etheric body looking at your physical, which sounds kind of like what happened to you during your nDE.  RObert talks about s ort of "feeback" that occured when he did this and said it wasn't at all pleasant.  Interesting stuff eh?
