That's wierd... but are you sure you are not getting up to quickly?

If I lay down for a while, like if I'm watching TV, and abruptly get up to go get something, I get really dizzy and vision goes all brown and cloudy for a few seconds, and I stand there for a few seconds until I'm re-stabilized and I'm fine.

Just buy some Gatorade and put right next to your bed or right next to you when you project.

This sounds really wierd, I hope you get it fixed.

And it goes on... this one is pretty cool though

This morning I woke up, confident I would have an OBE. I could tell I was tired enough to fall into SP pretty quickly. So I'm laying there, waiting, making sure I don't lose conciousness...

Well guess what... Apparantly I started dreaming, and the dream began with me laying on bed, waiting for Sleep-Paralysis to happen. It's like the opposite of a false awakening. So, SP hits, my brain nails all the symtoms correctly, and I'm full convinced I'm about to go. I'm stuck for maybe like a minute, and then it happens...

My brain must have re-constructed my room near perfect.

The only thing that made it feel un-OBE like to me at this point was that I was pretty much moving as I would in physical life. I've always had trouble diffculty moving in OBEs, and this one, I just got up, leaned against my bed, walked away, etc. Or maybe in dreams I just do stuff with thinking to hard which is why probably.

It starts getting more dream-like once I leave my room. My little brother is there and can see me, and claims to be lucid, and aware that he having an OBE as well (he is to lazy to have any willpower to ever try, and I mean like ever). So we both go outside, I believe it at the time. Outside I see one of my college friends mowing the lawn, and he can see us both, wtf!?! At this point I was considering that it could have been a dream. Then something scared my little brother and he yelled out "body, body" meaning that he was returning, so I did as well. There was a slight delay to get back in but it happened (it was a difficulty aligning, something I've yet to experience). I then had a false awakening, and was heading to my brother's to ask him about it, and then I woke up for real.

If anything, that has to be the first time a WILD has began for me before I even hit the stage of HI. Atleast I'm getting WILDs in where I'd usually be getting my OBEs.

That's pretty cool, though I don't even focus on it in silence to start hearing it, the moment everything goes quiet... "ssssss" (but it's quiet, nothing annoying), it's just those random times when I go to sleep and it's uncontrollably loud. But I turn fans on so those put to me sleep.

Maybe it's possible to use it to get into relaxed states, if I throw all my focus on it and forget about everything else on me.

I occasionally get the roaring/booming noises in my ear in Sleep-Paralysis. A few days ago, instead of leaving, I actually decided to battle through the vibrations and noise, and see where it would lead me. It was pretty intense, but I was hanging in there. I think I got flung out eventually because for a breif moment, I saw the side of the bed, and the floor right next to me, then all went black again, and then I was standing on the other side of my room, but it did not feel like an OBE at all, so I just ended up concluding that it became a lucid dream.

I understand what you are saying, it's like draw distance.

Is there any significant meaning it?

Quote from: the voice of silenceStookie,

Yeah it seems that I don't need to really try, it is happening unconditional which is nice for a change. The card experiment was driving me up the wall but well worth it.

I projected again today and saw physical and part of the grid that Robert Bruce mentions and illustration on his book. It appeared as if part of the physical world was half drawn and the grid was flat and blue.

Tvos

Can you explain this blue grid alittle more?

I may have seen something like before I exited when I was Sleep-Paralysis in the form of seeing through my eyelids (I saw outlines of the bed and wall, sheets as well, but everything was a blue/purple color and had gridlines on it).
#57
Dry spell continues

This morning, after achieving SP, I literally could not even exit. I don`t know why, maybe the sort of balled up position I was feeling in prevented me rolling out. I think I felt myself ejected after sitting the pretty highly moderate vibrations for a minute or two, but while I was out, which I`m not sure if I was, I could not move, or see. I eventually ended up entering a LD where I woke up laying on the floor by the side of my bed, and in this LD, I had to keep examing my hands every 30 seconds to keep lucidity and the dream vivid (it really works!)
#58
Yup, I've had a few times where I felt like I was spontaneously lifting out, with my legs floating way up, but being stuck around my chest. This is why I use the roll-out technique when I'm concious enough to know what's going on
#59
Just wondering, because we are not always concious (sleep), does anyone know if the cycle of concious/unconcious follows you after death? (has anyone asked an entity about this). I find it hard to believe that we will be forever concious after we die.

I found the closest example to the sound that I could.

Turn a TV on... without any channel... put it on TV Video.. and the noise the TV makes when it's just on is similar to what I hear in dead silence. Except it's inconsistant in volume.

Does anyone know what the noise that you hear when it's dead quiet is? It's not actually a noise, it almost sounds like it's coming from inside your ears. On rare occasions, when I go to sleep, if it's dead quiet, this noise from inside my ears disturbs me, because it can get really loud. It also kind of comes in waves... where its moderate-low-LOUD-moderate-LOUD... and if I focus on it, I can keep it a really loud point.

I don't get this often, but when I do, it has to be absolutely quiet, or I won't even notice it.

Does anyone what this is?
#62
Can someone explain to me why I stopped getting vibrations? It seems like now when I fall into Sleep-Paralysis, the vibrations, and roaring noise... it's just not there anymore

Did you try to look at the advantages of being Male?

This morning, around 10AM, I did a nice WILD, and had a good lucid dream, and when the dream ended, knowing I easily re-induce and prelong sleep-paralysis, I decided not to move or open my eyes at all, and within seconds I was re-paralyzed. So instead of waiting for the lucid dream, I decided and roll-out, and I get that static-like feeling I usually get when going Oob, but I'm blind. I constantly ask for vision, I try really hard to see, and nothing. I go back in to my body, try again, yet again I'm blind. So after trying for like a minute to get my vision, I can't, so I just give up, and with that I came back into a full waking state, and decided it was time to get up, besides if I let myself fall back into the SP state, it would have been pretty short anyway.

Why is this happening to me?

Is it possible that I had a projection as the WILD? But it started out with me running down a road pretty quickly. I met another DC in there, and this person became lucid as well (would be cool if it was real person). But we both went into space. And I turn around, and saw a silver cord (but, I know that was mind created, because I kept thinking of what it could look like), and it also didn't feel like a projection...

It is used for inducing lucid dreams not not OBEs, but what it did do is it helped me catch myself falling into Sleep-Paralysis. Pretty much a WILD with slight adjustments.

Quote- Hargart's Finger Induced Lucid Dream (FILD) -

Simplified Directions:

The Setup:
1. Go to sleep. It's that simple.. No hypnosis or visualization required.
2. To perform this technique, you have to be extremely close to falling asleep. The best time is either in the middle of the night, or in the morning. However, using this technique in the morning can often cause shorter LDs.
3. If you want to try FILD during the night, you have to find some way to wake up. There are various methods.. Find one that works for you.
4. Once you wake up, the first thing that should be on your mind is the FILD technique. Immediately relax, and try to go back to sleep how you normally would. The goal here is to get to the point just before you fall back to sleep. Once you've reached this point, begin the FILD technique. If you fall back to sleep, don't worry... you can try again when you wake up.

The Technique:
1. Imagine for a second that you are playing a piano using your index and middle finger with one hand. Your fingers are side by side on two keys. Now, press your right finger down, leaving your left finger up. Next, press your left finger down, and lift your right finger back up. Repeat this up and down motion.
2. So you have the motion down? Try this: Imagine you are playing the piano again (using the same motion), but this time, press the keys so lightly that they don't go down. Give it a try on your computer keyboard - you should basically feel your muscles contract, but your fingers should hardly move.
3. You're almost there. All you have to do is use this finger movement when you wake up. Once you reach step 4 on the setup process, start moving your fingers. Focus on the movement. By directing your focus, you will fall asleep within seconds. Do not count your finger movements or talk to yourself in your head. Also, do not try to make yourself go to sleep.. that will only wake you up. That's it!
4. Once about 10 to 20 seconds have passed, take your other hand, and perform a nose RC. Simply pinch your nose and try to breath in. If you can, you're dreaming!
5. If you find that the RC doesn't work, don't worry.. you can try again. Just go to sleep normally, and try again when you wake up.

Old Directions:

1. Go to sleep. It's that simple.. No hypnosis or visualiztion required.

1. Go to sleep:
- You want to do this tech when you are the most tired. For some people, it's 3 hours after you have gone to sleep, for others, 5, or you can do it in the morning (harder)
- might help to tell your self to wake up after your dreams (Like in the MILD tech.).. haven't tried this yet
- Try playing very soft music in the background when you go to sleep if you want to wake up during the REM state. Make sure it's very very soft, and has no beat/voice in it.

2. This is the hardest part of the technique. You need to get into a state where you are very tired, and feel like you could easily fall asleep. To achive this, you either have to wake up from a dream during the night, set an alarm clock for the time where you will be the most tired, or use the dream period in the morning.

2a. (Unreliable, but easy if you wake up) If you find that you have just woken up from a dream in the middle of the night or you set your alarm to wake you up, you should already feel very tired. Continue to step 3. (if not, just go back to sleep. You could try to relax, but I dont think it would work too well.)

2b. (most reliable) If you have set an alarm clock for 3, 5 or however many hours works best for you, you should wake up in a tired state. Try relaxing, and when you feel like your very close to sleep, contine to step 3. However, if you have woken up, and dont feel tired at all, I would go back to sleep.

2c. (hard and unreliable) If you have woken up in the morning, you might not feel very tired. (You might be relaxed, but you would find it hard to start sleeping agian.) To get into this "tired" state, you should go back to sleep. In about 30 mins (or more), you will wake up again. When you wake up this time (try not to move or open your eyes), try to relax as much as possible and see how tired you feel. (Be carefull you dont fall back to sleep) If you feel very tired, continue to step 3. Otherwise, go back to sleep, and try again when you wake up.

3. Relax. Once you think you are about to fall asleep again (You should already feel like this when you wake), you need to start moving part of your body, It should just be a very small movement, and it needs to be repetitive. I recommend using your fingers.
- What I do is this: Right now, imagine you are playing a piano with 2 fingers: your pointer and middle finger. Push one key down, lift it back up and at the same time, press the other finger down. Just keep going back and forth between the fingers. I have my hand under my pillow when i did this, but Im sure it would work anywhere. Just make sure the movement is very small, and takes very little energy to perform it. (I was just doing this on my right hand)
- Another Note: When you are moving you fingers, don't try to visualize anything, just think to you self that you will do this for 10-30 secs, and then check to see if it's a dream.
- Also, do not tell your self all the actions you are going to do, and do not "count" while you do this tech... Just say to your self, you will do a RC in 10-30 secs, and then just lay there, moving you fingers.
- Try to focus on the movement, and just try to relax.
- Do not focus on trying to fall asleep (it will keep you awake). Keep focus on your fingers, do not let your mind wander.

4. Once you start the motion, try to relax (as much as you can, but don't force it. Dont "try" to fall asleep) and wait about 10-30 seconds (keep your fingers moving). During this short time, tell your self that you will wait about 10-30 secs, and then you will check to see if you are in a dream. (Don't count in your head) Once the 10-20 secs have passed, do a nose RC (Where you pinch your nose closed, and try to breath in.. If you can, you are in a dream). If the RC fails, just try to go to sleep normally for a few mins (no motion or RCs), and try the tech one more time. If it fails again, go to sleep, and try again later that morning. If it works it should only take 10-30 secs. Do not lay there doing a RC every 30 secs over and over, it will just wake you up even more.
- The first time I did this, I thought that It wasn't going to work. After the 10-30 secs, I still was sure that I was still trying to fall asleep, with my fingers moving. However, when I did a RC, I realized it was a dream. I thought to my self "wow, I'm in a LD, I guess it does work"
- On 7-4-04, I found that whenever I started to dream, I had a tingly sensation all over my body.

5. If the nose RC works, try to get out of bed...
- I found that in the morning, when I tried to get out of bed in the dream, I would wake up immediately when I tried to move. If this happens to you, you should try this: once you realize that you are dreaming from the nose RC, keep your eyes closed, and keep pinching your nose. Continue to breath through your nose. Wait about 10-30 secs, and then try to visualize your room in your head (like your looking at it thru your closed eyes). The image should slowly come to you, and once it has, get out of bed, and you shouldn't wake up from the movement.

NOTE: When this works successfully, the real world (where you were moving you fingers) will be transitioned into the dream world (You will dream that you are still moving your fingers, and trying to relax).

Some people are telling me that they are trying to move their fingers, and then do a RC every 30 secs.. That's not what you should do. If the 1st RC fails, stop the finger movement, and RCs, and try to relax for a few mins, then, try the tech once more. If it fails again, go to sleep, and try again later that morning. Hope that helps

Things to try: Instead of waiting only 10-30 secs, see what happens if you wait more like 1-5 mins. (When I discovered this tech. I kept waking up from what I thought was the real world, and realizing that it was entirely a dream.. So I tried again, and told my self to wait a few secs, and then do a RC.. and it worked). I think that it is either going to work, or it's not going to work, do not lay there for 20 mins moving your fingers. If it doesn't work, go back to sleep, or try relaxing for another few mins.

I induced Sleep-Paralysis this morning. It was actually wierd because I was trying something new, something called "FILD" technique, and it worked to get me into that state the first time. But it felt like I was being thrown around, like up and down, in and out, all over the place, etc. And it also felt like I was barely in SP, like I could easily move my body (though maybe it was not my physical body).

But it all went wrong after that. Tried to spin out, and I was spinning in one place. Shortly after that, my mind deicded to pick up and give me a fake OBE, which I was still lucid in, and I knew I was dreaming. So... I don't know how to go into an OBE from a lucid dream, how do I do that?
#68
What the hell? You can't pick up physical objects while having an OBE..
#69
How does one develop sight while traveling very fast? Is it something that comes along? Because both times when I traveled at super speeds in space, I was blind the first time, and just could barely make out objects the second time.

The first question was probably not worded very well.
I am asking how many total OBEs/astral projections you have ever experienced? This includes all spontaneous and all induced OBEs. Later, in question 7, I break it down into spontaneous and induced projections. The induced projections are further broken down into those that began either as normal non-lucid dreams or as lucid dreams.

Maybe a better first question would be --
As well as you can remember how many total OBEs (including both spontaneous and induced projections) have you ever experienced.?
a) 1 -5  b) 6 - 10 c) 11 -20 etc etc.....

You should make two separate question for that, becuase when I was younger I had plenty spontaneous, though I don't know the exact amount.
#71
That's what I'm trying to do, but more for the exploration.

1st time out there, I was in the middle of nowhere, and just saw a bunch of white dots.

2nd time out there, I was in a solar-system, and saw a planet that looked like a red Venus, and I also two planets, nearly indentical, that had shifting orange, blue, and red neon colors all over them. They looked really, really cool, though I doubt such planets actually exist.

Two nights ago when I was falling asleep, I must have fallen asleep for like 15 minutes, and then I woke up to what felt like strong tingling in the front area of my neck, like as if someone wrapped their hand around my neck and pressed down (but understand I do not mean this in the physical sense).

I sort still felt the feeling lingering while I was laying there, and as I began to fall asleep, the feeling began to pick up and get stronger again, which prevented me from falling asleep. So I had to get up for like 5 minutes until the feeling wore off before I could fall asleep without any problems.

I've felt something similar to this in Sleep-Paralysis (actually when I was younger and was being attacked by the hag), but never on the onset of deep sleep

Anyone know what that was?

- 6 in May
- 1 in June (wasn't really attempting to project at all this month)

And all of mine have been probably about 2-3 minutes long, except for my first one which maybe lasted 30 seconds.

My 1st/2nd/5th/7th were the best ones. My first two I was hyper-concious in both. The 5th had some amazing light features in my room, and the 7th I made it into outer space (my current objective is to cruise by some solar systems and get some nice views of our galaxy).

1st one was the most realistic one, probably because it was a new amazing feeling, but at the same time I realized I had felt that "feeling" when having an OBE many times before when I was younger.
#75
Did you use alot of energy to clean your room (meaning was cleaning the room physically demanding). One day I worked my butt off somewhere, and when I got home, I crashed around 9PM, and had 5 lucid dreams that night because I kept waking up to Sleep-Paralysis. (I didn't have intention of projecting that night, I was to exhausted, I just waited for dreams to begin while in SP).

But... in any case, I shall clean my room.
