You too huh ? This has been happening to me, on and off, for many years. And I've no idea why the ears ring some times and not at others. It just happens for no rhyme or reason.
One thing that I have noticed is that the ear ringing signals extended periods of heightened psychic awareness. For example during ear ringing my scores at gotpsi.org tend to rise and math problems seem easier. Don't know why, just sayin.

Hearing /reading/seeing a news report or article that Mandela had died is surprisingly common. I heard a radio news report about Mandela's "death" several years ago. Of course Mandela is alive but I clearly recall hearing the radio report.

The best website for NDEs is nderf.org (which stands for Near Death Experience Research Foundation). They have over 3000 NDE reports and also have a forum. Don't know how active the forum is, however but it is worth taking a look at it.

I also think that your experience was an OBE. The next step for you will be to try to control your OBE. Once out of body it's usually smart to remain in a familiar location and then deliberately move to another place. Getting very excited is a common problem. Strong emotions (good Or bad) often result in ending an OBE. Control is usually a function of experience so control Should improve during future OBEs.

Everyone progresses at a different rate. Some people can project out of body naturally and really don't need to try. For others it is somewhat harder and a measure of time and effort is needed. And other people find it quite difficult. It might take these people several weeks or months before they manage their first OBE. So try to be patient and don't quit, even if it takes several weeks.

If you can stay focused and determined then good things (= OBE) will almost certainly happen. Patience might also be needed. Some people manage to go out of body after only a few days or a couple of weeks of effort. Others are not so fortunate and require several weeks or even months of continued effort. So stay with it and good luck.

Lightning IS an awesome force of nature. Truly to be respected and feared. The neighborhood where I live lost power for several hours just 3 days ago due to multiple lightning strikes during severe thunderstorms. Even being inside all of that time was Very disconcerting.

Lucid dreaming (ld) is fascinating. There Are ways to induce ld, such as the techniques known as W.I.L.D. (Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming) and D.I.L.D. (Dream Induced Lucid Dreaming). There are many other methods as well. It might be worthwhile looking into these methods if you want to experience lds on a more regular basis.

From your description of the experience it appears that you had 2 or more OBEs. That pull you felt is actually normal. Many people who are out of body get 'snapped' back to their physical body by a strong unseen pull. So it is nothing to be concerned about. Actually you should feel good about having an OBE (which can also be deliberately induced BTW).

Very interesting in that you went out of body several different ways - deliberately, spontaneously, through a dream and through a lucid dream. While most people focus on the straight forward Deliberate method of going OOB it is very possible to get OOB many different ways. In fact any time that an opportunity presents itself and a person is aware of that chance then its possible to have an OBE.

About Rush Limbaugh, personally I think that he is a fat fool ( ) BUT, and here's the important point to remember... Like attracts like. People listen to him , or to any radio or tv show because they generally agree with the viewpoints of the personalities involved. And beside Limbaugh's inanity is no less drivel that that spewed out by nonpolitical celebs, whether they host sports, celebrity, music (or whatever) shows.
And, yes, btw I Don't watch or listen to any of them. My only dose of mass media in an occasional sports game and a few reality shows.
Anyways the more that I thought about this topic the more likely I was to get on a long pointed rant. So I'll cut it short and end it here.

Those Are worthy thoughts. I personally perceive the nonphysical realms to be just about limitless, what with the myriads of astral realms, ethereal locales, Belief System Territories, Dream Plane(s) And so much more undiscovered and/or unexplored areas.
Beyond that it could be possible to conjecture something else existing. Or it could be more a question of semantics (ie what is nonphysical and what is beyond the nonphysical?? Is that location beyond the nonphysical another universe, another multiverse, or maybe another reality??)
