Welcome to Astral Chat! / white dots in sky?
May 19, 2003, 21:50:16
the whole bacteria explination sort of made me depressed. i actually thought it was something until i realized that you guys are right. when i really look at the sky, i see dark tubular like things that start in the center of my vision and then ALWAYS float downward. this makes me think that since they are always moving in the same direction, they must just be bacteria.

however, the glittery spots that i see are completely random in nature. i think there is a difference between these two things that i can see during a bright day.

guess it's not so weird after all. I saw them again today when i was lying on my girlfriend's trampoline looking at the sky. it was bright out yet cloudy. i wasnt able to manipulate them at all, i just noticed the random movements they made. it almost looked as if it was closer to myself than the sky (clouds). i asked my girlfriend if she could see them and she said no. she immediately said something about those "magic eye" books and how she can't do those. it did somewhat remind me of those because i cant just look right at the sky and see them, i sort of have to strain and focus on one spot. once i do start to see them though i can REALLY see them, and LOTS of them too.

another thing i've noticed lately, while just sitting on my computer or anywhere for that matter, out of the corner of my eye, i'll see a small flicker of light. almost like those in the sky but just a single flicker. dont really know how else to explain that but it's happened quite a few times in the past year or so.

hrm. very interesting experience that's for sure. i wanted to ask you though how long you have been meditating? also, how do you meditate? the reason i ask is because i've only had spontaneous projections, nothing else yet nothing like that has every happened to me while meditating. granted i've only meditated for a few months but i think it'd be interesting to project while meditating especially since you're not laying down. well i dont really know what else to say because i have little experience with other beings while projecting but that is definitely something interesting and worth looking into. i find it cool/weird that you were "pulled" out of your body too.

TOOL rocks (musically) and are just scary in all other aspects. They read a lot of Alliester Crowley. I downloaded some of his books and from what I've read so far, they're basically really depressing. I can see how they incorporate (tool's music that is) new age ideas into their songs and I find that fascinating. I've seen tool live 3 times now and it is definitely an amazing experience. They have three large screens with unexplainable things on them. Some of their songs send chills down my spine (ie... "H" mainly) dont really know why.  if you go to their website www.toolband.com , you'll find some interesting ideals that they share but mainly a bunch of nonsense... sooo try toolshed.down.net that site is filled with information about them and their beliefs.

Ah James,
Thank you for summing up things for me. I definitely see where you are coming from. It is sad that the Bible is translated differently over churches/time. It's also sad to me that the christian religion itself is so segragated. There are so many different outlets of the christian church that all fundamentally are trying to do the exact same thing (teach the word of Christ through the bible etc...) It's sad that they can't all do it together as one "Christian Church". This may be another reason as to why the Bible has changed focus throughout the churches. For example, the catholics emphasis on the Virgin Mother is not found in many other christian churches. By the way are Catholics considered Christians anyways?

To the point about my mother, she does not practice any demonic sort of religion or whatever. From what I know, she has been a Christian all her life (Attends the Methodist Church). Now, I also believe that my mother is a VERY spiritual person. The reason I say this is because she is EXTREMELY emotional. Like for instance, a 30 second commercial that has a baby in it may make her cry. I guess it doesnt help that she is Manic Depressive but regardless, things seem to touch her deeply as they do with me as well. Music has been a wonderful example of this as well. She plays the flute by ear and can hardly read music. She will close her eyes and become emersed in the music that she plays. For me, it's more listening to music than performance. I listen to many kinds of music. I find that certain songs/groups send a major chill down my spine... (see one of my old posts when someone posted a thread about music and energy) Anyways, I almost feel spritually connected to certain songs and/or lyrics. It's almost a feeling I can't describe.

The reason I'm telling you all of this is because I really feel that instead of using religious terms and ideals to explain what may have happened to my mom, maybe use spiritual terms. Religion itself is so fuzzy in nature yet with things like out of body experiences, we are now able to have hands on experience with what I believe is the spirit. Personally, I believe in God and Christ as the savior but not everyone does. I have adapted buddhist philosophies as well. I have come to the conclusion that it is completely impossible for someone to say "These are my beliefs, this is what is right, if you dont follow this you are wrong and will go to a bad bad place" Culturally that just wouldnt work out. Spiritually it wouldnt either. We as human beings are touched spiritually in many different ways. We know so little about the human spirit and what some "superior being" may have in store for us. Since my mom spoke in tongues randomly while giving birth to two children on two seperate occassions, I'd really like to think that this wasn't some sort of a message so much as maybe proof that the sprit inside her exists and that spirit may hold the knowledge that it takes to live in other realms (ie... speaking various languages). So basically, I think it was possibly her spirit that spoke through her? Who knows? I think I've confused myself. Bah

i gave up reading all of this :( it sort of got off topic but you guys go ahead :)

kakkarot,
haha it's ok to get off subject, i am becoming confused with my original question anyways because it seems as if there really isnt an answer (that anyone knows of)... oh and your story in your first post was quite humerous.

Peace Warrior,
i find it very interesting to see many different uses/examples of uses of tongues in the bible.. i just wish i knew which one fit my situations.

sometimes i'd like to think that it means something about my brother and i, and the fact that i have spontaneous projections and have never projected willingly sometimes leads me to believe that there HAS to be a reason for all of this... who knows?

Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / wow
March 03, 2003, 22:29:47
astral27,
first of all... haha. i really didnt intend to touch her there and to be honest i didnt really have control at that point so what i'm thinking is that the beginning of the experience when i was in my dorm room was an OBE and then it sort of turned back to my physical and i had a dream about being next to some girl because that part of it felt really weird and different.

Secondly, you have to remember that everything is filtered by the physical brain so although you may think that we arent able to think sexually during an OBE, we are still connected to our physical bodies therefore our mind is able to think of whatever it thinks normally during an OBE. also, i've heard many people talk about how they have "astral sex" therefore it must be possible to think sexually.

with my experience, i actually had no control over where my hand was at first and then i thought to myself ahh what the heck i dont want my hand anywhere near here.

Yeah it sucks nowadays.. war, drug abuse, gangs, suicides, lack in faith of the Self... Did you know like before industries and stuff, back to the time of pure nature, itself... the amount of pure oxygen in the air was 80%??? Guess what is now..? ABOUT 6%!!! Can you BELIEVE THAT?!?!

THAT is freaking insane and makes me sick to my stomach.

I think that's awesome that you have never projected and you are this interested in it and aspire to actually project... all of my projections have been spontaneous and I've had them off and on since I was a child.

Hey what the phak, since you said you've been meditating for a while, please go to the Energy Development section and see if you can answer my post "Meditation and the strobe effect" i think it's called, i'm very curious as to why this happens. maybe you can help. thanks

lateralus897,

after reading things on that website, I am also very interested in Salvia Divinorum. I have heard one story that someone said that they heard that if you take it, you cant figure out how to move your feet from the ground? haha who knows, I hope at least one person has an experience with it and can tell us more about it.

What tha Phak,

i apologize for my hrm... "ignorant" post. I am too majoring in Psych however we havent really talked about any illegal drugs like E and their effects on the brain in any of the courses i've taken so far. It's sort of hard for me to be SOOO against drugs because I used to be a pothead and I did try E once before knowing it's major effects it has on the brain. I hope my brain isnt smoked because i tried it once [V] Anyways, i really dont know much about shrooms especially. however, i guess i'm just to the point where i want to try and live as naturally as possible. I went through a stage where I drank a lot and smoked a lot of pot and looking back on that now i feel that i am a better person.

So basically i think it works differently for different people (in saying that i mean the overall use of drugs and just how it effects their lives in general). If drugs work for you and you feel that they have more positive benifits than negative go for it! you determine how to live your own life, people do not have the right to tell you what is GOOD and RIGHT for YOU. That's up to you to decide. so i apologize for any biased things i may say.

When you say that i must dislike everything around me.. I'd have to say sometimes I do haha. What i mean by that is I hate that everything is so polluted with chemicals, makes me wish i lived back a looooong time ago when things were completely natural. Chemicals do have positive benifits though that's for sure. I'm a vegetarian and it kinda sucks when people have to explain to me the amount of chemicals that are in veggies when they're prepared.

Oh and Formaldehyde is the chemical that I'm sure you smelled when you disected any animals in a High School bio class, they help preserve the dead organism... also used in humans when they die.

well i hope i answered everything, i wish someone would tell me how to use the "quote" feature. I have yet to do that.

I havent really read thouroughly through these posts but I dont think I've seen anyone mention Valerian Root. I've been taking it off and on for only a couple weeks... I really dont know if it's just a Placebo effect because from the first time I took it, I became so much more calm in many aspects. My muscles were relaxed, my heart wouldnt race if i became nervous or anxious, my brain just felt very calm. I took it a few times before meditating and it seemed like it aided a little in the initial relaxation. I take one pill (500 mg). I have read places that it can cause headaches if you over use it but I'm only sticking to one pill a few times a week, not even everyday.

I go to a state school in Ohio and I'm majoring in Psychology and minoring in Philosophy. One thing I'm grateful of here is that they offer more courses in Philosophy like for instance a meditation course, a metaphysics course and a Personal Identity course (grad course that talks about what would exist if you went through a time travel machine) haha. As of now i'm a sophomore and hope to take those courses later on either Junior and Senior year or in Grad school. Good luck finding a Major that specifically deals with OBE's, i think you'd have to look to a "healing" school or something for that. However, having a major in Philosophy especially may touch on some of those subjects. Guess it just depends on the school you go to. Good Luck!  - Mike

Ok, i sort of understand... one thing i'm still unclear about is... When you project, you are first in the location that you are sleeping (not always but usually) How do you actually go to another location in your Real time body? Do you simply 'will' it to happen and you're there?
#66
Hrm good subject... I choose to tell only people that i feel will be accepting of it. Sometimes, it's hard to tell if they're going to think you're weird or not. It usually starts with a conversation about dreams and weird things that have happened when they were sleeping. I'll ask a few questions like "have you ever been paralyzed in your sleep?" "do you have weird feelings of vibrating ever while sleeping or waking up?" they usually look at me like ehhh what are you talking about. When I first found out the truth about the spontaneous feelings that i was having, i tried talking to everyone about it, it was then that i realized that not everyone believes that this is even humanly possible. it's not that they think it's wrong, they just simply think that it doesnt happen and it's all a figment of your imagination. when i tell the story about seeing my dad doing something and then later asking him if he was doing that and he was then they get a little confused. Now that i know more about the subject, i'm able to tell who would really care to hear about it and who would be fascinated with it. I (like Epsilon) cant even talk to my girlfriend about it because she gets "weirded" out by it. however i do have a very good friend that cares to learn more about and also two friends that have been having OBE's for years.

Another thing i think is funny is that the people who are completely against these things say that (like Pandemonium said) "all new things are works of satan" funny that OBE's trace far back into our history and shouldnt even be considered "NEW AGE" i guess some of the practices that we use could be considered new age but these ideas stem far back into our history, further than most christian beliefs therefore how are they "new". hrm just my thoughts.

In the meantime, their brain cells are getting rocked along with other major areas of the brain that soon will result in many side effects. Therefore, is it really worth it to enhance your senses??? Cant we just train ourselves to naturally enhance these senses? Sometimes when I'm done meditating, i will walk outside and be SO much more aware of my surroundings, i'll hear every little sound and be able to piece everything together. it's almost a feeling that i cannot describe in words. As far as i know, meditating doesnt have any negative side effects... so i think i'll stick to that instead of taking a chemical that you really have no clue what is in it unless you are making it yourself... i believe that i've heard that sometimes formaldehyde will be found in weed because it helps it to get it's "sticky" quality... hrmmm i think i can do without that and that's just weed, God only knows what is in some acid hits/LSD/shrooms.

yes that would be Bill, he was also in the artwork inside the cover for Aenima. evidently, he was a friend of Maynard's.

Bill hicks is (was) an American comedian. I actually just found out about him about a month ago although i have heard references to him on Tool's albums. He is extremely blunt and controversial yet very funny. Most of his acts dealt with drug use, the government and other touchy subjects. chick out www.billhicks.com if you care to learn more and go download (or buy if you're against that haha) some of his stuff i'm sure you'd find it humerous.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Theories on Predesination
February 22, 2003, 09:53:33
hrmmmm i've thought of this a few times... if God already knows what we are going to do, is it possible for him to change it? if not, what is the point of prayer to try and change people... if God already has knowledge of the things people are going to do and he doesnt "help" them in anyway to change then isn't the act of prayer for improvement of the self/others pointless?

"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is mearly energy condensed through a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, life is only a dream and we are the imaginations of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather" - Bill Hicks

first of all, i would like to say that i have little experience with psychadelics other than the fact that i have tried ecstacy once. it was definitely a very interesting experience and at the time i had no knowledge of projection/energy work or else i wouldve experimented with it. i did however smoke a lot of pot when i was in high school and i would have to say that i never experienced any spontaneous projections like i do now that i'm completely sober or when i was a kid and completely sober.

" three weeks ago two of my friends and i went to a ranch in fredricksburg, texas took what terrance m. would call a heroic dose 5 dried grams (mushrooms) let me tell you our third eye was squeegied quite cleanly. WOW. and i'm glad they're against the law cause you know what happened when i took them... i layed in a field of green grass for four hours going "my god i love everything" the heavens parted and god came down and rained gifts of forgiveness onto my being healing me on every level, psychically, physically emotionally, and i realized our true nature is spirit not body we are eternal beings and gods love is unconditional and there's nothing we can ever do to change that... it is only our illusion that we are separate from god and we are alone.. the truth is we are one with god and he loves us"  - Bill Hicks

well i can understand why people would want to try and take these psychadelics to advance spiritually but personally i think i'd rather go the natural way than eating mushrooms that grow on cow crap. plus i think i'd be much more proud/conscious of my experience. even if the drug doesnt eliminate the capability to have an obe, it still will no doubt fu@k up your brain in some way shape and form. well i guess that's just my opinion [:)]

something similar happened to me (the time gap) and when i first started having spontaneous sensations/exits again, i was excited and therefore came back to my body. what helped me to first of all "induce" these sensations was to think really really hard about the feelings i got when i was younger and they would happen. since they were so profound in my life when i was a child, i was easily able to remember what they were like. secondly just reading peoples experiences helps me calm down whenever i have these sensations because i just think to myself "everything is ok, this is normal".

timeless, can i please move in with you in Canada? After watching Bowling for Columbine and reading your post it really makes me want to move there because it seems as if people are wayyyy more laid back and open minded than most (if not all) Americans! ok sorry for interuputing this great topic, i dont have much to say but i've been reading all of it and i'm still interested.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Why?
February 12, 2003, 08:04:13
I'd like to think that people like us (those who are interested in our soul and seek to know answers) were chosen (by God or whoever you would like to believe in) and that one day we will possibly have a task because we are more spiritually advanced and we actually care more than most people do. I'm not saying those people who do not care are bad people, they just weren't supposed to care I guess? I guess we'll all find out if this meant anything in the end.
