Hi there. My father is going into surgery for a near 6-inch aneurism on the 5th of March. He is 65 and quite obese. Good to know that he has some of the best team surgeons working on him though. However, he is a very negative and 'woe-is-me' type of guy. At times he is very negative and angry, impulsive, disrespectful and cold, proud and selfish and childish. While just as many other times he is quite the opposite: happy, positive, very social, generous. He's two sides of one coin, pretty much. Well, he's going into surgery this upcoming week, as I said. My relatives (aunt, half-sister, etc.) try to assure me they'll come and visit him to take some weight off my chest. My mom is giving up work for a few days to stay at home and help take care of him though right now she's working like a dog at her two jobs as a waitress for nearly 18 hours most days (my father is retired even though he sometimes earns money by making websites for people). Even my brother said not to worry about it and that everything will be fine. See, thing is, it'll take at least two months for him to recover from this major abdominal surgery. I'm worried that my household will come apart even further (although we seem stable there are times when we aren't, like during the arguments between my parents, some of which are started by my father over things that to other people including myself are quite stupid to be argued over). I feel I need all the help I can get to get us all through these hard upcoming months. I would be eternally grateful to all of you if you could send some positive, healing energy to me and my family to help us through these rough times. Thank you so much.

Haha; no, Kurt!  Spirit Animals are like Spirit Guides. You know how you have certain Spirit Guides in your life who help you with different aspects of it but don't make themselves known to you unless you ask them to? Well, Spirit Animals... er, animal totems... are just the same. Got it now? XD

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Spirit Animals?

I remember hearing about spirit animals a couple years ago. Is there any way you can find out what your spirit animal really is? Lately I have become more obsessed than usual with all things wolf. In fact, I have been going back to Amazon to look at a really beautiful wolf necklace I'm saving up for... heck, even the 'desktop image' on my iPod is that of wolves howling at a moon. I dunno... I've just been wondering lately why I've become so much more attached to wolves, I guess. :| Any thoughts? :?

Thanks Vitriuvian. I hope something of this book I found on OBE4U will help in some way. I've been trying to AP for 3 years since 2007, though I don't plan on giving up anytime soon. ;)

I found this link in a post of our Adrian's, which I think was here. Although two of my spiritual goals are to awaken my inner psychic abilities (which are at the moment very much dormant) and astral travel, my top is to successfully astral travel while actually being aware that I'm out-of-body... I know one of these books has some info on astral travel, but I'm wondering which one would help me develop my ability to astral project the most. These books are pretty expensive, and I don't make that much money to get them all at once or anything like that. I'm relying on replies from you guys on here who have read these books to help me pick the right one. Has anybody read these? Which should I buy book if I want to learn to astral travel from them?

Has anybody else on here read this book? I just got it a couple of days ago. If anybody else has read this, what temples have you visited? What happened during your visit?

I remember hearing about those. I'm thinking about getting a book or two by Monroe soon.

Which of his books talk about these dreamstate lessons?

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Reoccuring People in Dreams

Yea. That's the thing about guides. It must be something to do with us not being trained to actually remember our OBE's (because we need to stay grounded to our current physical existence and such >__<). But if you ask for them to appear, would they still wipe your memory? That's kinda cruel if you ask for them to show themselves to you and then you wake up thinking they pretty much never did. =/

Wow. Neat.

So, if I AP or Lucid Dream, would I finally be able to find out who he is? I don't know why, but I feel he may be my twin flame. Many of the dreams I have with him often involve us snuggling, kissing, etc.

In the past month I have found myself twice in a huge library crowded with shelves in the center of the room learning about certain astral topics from the same woman. I always wake up with a vivid recollection of what we spoke about, and of what the room looks like, but it was nothing like a conscious OBE. Though one of my goals now is to go back to this place when I finally achieve conscious astral projection (and funny enough, this woman who speaks to me in this environment even told me the first time I saw her that I would achieve it 'soon' :-o). Is this possible? And how would I go about going back to this place?

Welcome to Dreams! / Reoccuring People in Dreams
December 05, 2009, 11:11:40
The past couple of dreams I have had dreams in which I interact with the same person, a young and handsome male who appears somewhere in his early twenties with lightish brown hair (think the color of mahogany) and light blue eyes. He and I are always having pleasant interactions, and although the dream vary they often have a light and rather peaceful sort of atmosphere around it.

What does it mean to have someone appear in your dreams so many times? I have never seen this man before in my life. And although my dream self enjoys his company, it rather confuses me... so, any thoughts on this anyone? :?

That's what I tried to do, Xanth. It kinda distracted me for the first couple of flickers, though. I had never seen the 'strobe' before. It really excited me to know how well my energy work was progressing me though. :)

Loreena McKennitt is my #1 favorite New Age artist. Celtic Woman and Enya are also pretty good New Age artists. :)

Thanks for that thread. Timandra. It all helped a lot. Well, at least now I know for sure that I'm doing all the energy work the right way. :)

So earlier this afternoon I was practicing the energy body stimulation exercises involved in Day 4 of Robert Bruce and Brian Mercer's Mastering Astral Projection with my eyes closed and focusing my body awareness on the parts and stuff. While I was 'brushing' and 'sponging' my toes with my awareness hands, a white light began to flicker on and off behind my eyelids and continued until I stopped my exercises on my feet for the day. What was this?

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Esoteric Temples?
November 12, 2009, 21:49:33
I have read very little about this subject, but am very interested in these esoteric temples all the same. I first heard about these esoteric temples from Robert Bruce somewhere in the beginning of his book Astral Dynamics: A NEW Approach to Out-of-Body Experiences, but have been able to find nothing else about them thereafter. Now my idea, based upon the very little reading, of these esoteric temples is a place where you 'astral travel' to and learn from a higher source (like a guide or astral teacher). Esoteric temples are one of the things I'm very interested in traveling to soon as I can have conscious OBE's. Are there any good books or websites (trustworthy ones that aren't frauds/rip-offs!) that touch upon these more?

Lately I've been trying to raise my energy body and trying to make more energy flow through it. Recently I've begun considering buying either a Q-Link or Crystal Necklace. I know the Crystal Necklace costs $147, and that the Q-Link costs anywhere from $40-$100 (depending on which of the three you choose to buy), but I also want to know the benefits of each one before I buy it and see for myself or start to think 'Oh, maybe I should have gotten the other one,. I've seen pictures of the crystal necklaces and although it's beautiful, I have to say that I'm swaying more towards buying the Q-Link. What are your opinions? Q-Link? Or Crystal Necklace? And why?

I just read something that may have been the reason you got so sick after doing the N.E.W. energy exercises. This is what Robert Bruce said in the end of chapter 11 of 'Astral Dynamics: A NEW Approach to Out-of-Body Experiences' just before he guides us through the energy raising exercises.

QuoteOf these three storage centers, the most important and safest to actively fill is the sub-navel storage center. When this center is full, it overflows into the sub-heart storage center, which when full overflows into the sub-brow storage center.

Deliberately filling the two higher storage centers first is a very unwise practice that can unbalance the enrgy body and significantly lower vitality levels. This not only is developmentally counterproductive, but can also adversely affect emotional, mental, and psychic stability. Filling all the storage centers is a lifetime's work. It can take months of regular energy raising before sub-naval storage levels significantly increase, because a great deal of enerfgy is used up during early development exercises.

There are no safe shortcuts. If you long for psychic abilities, practice regular trance meditation and work daily on filling your sub-naval storage center. Make trance meditation and energy raising a part of your daily life, and your energy body will develop in a natural, balanced, and healthy way. Any dormant psychic abilities will begin to manifest when the energetic conditions that allow them are created. Forcing this process causes predictable problems.

From this I assume that you started raising your energy levels in reverse starting with the sub-brow, overflowing the energy into the sub-heart, which eventually over-flowed into the sub-naval. Rob Bruce suggested you do the opposite. I thought this passage may help you based on what you told us... maybe you should email him and ask about what to do for your situation? I hope I helped a bit... and I'm sorry if I sounded a bit 'I told you so'-ish! *Hugs*

hmm... maybe next time you try the N.E.W. energy exercises, try practicing them on the less responsive side first? Also, sometimes your chakras respond better to one type of exercise than another. For example, the chakras on my body seem to respond faster to the 'Stirring Motion' than to the 'Brushing Motion'. So, either practice on the less responsive side first next time OR just move on to the next exercise as Bruce himself suggests. Also keep in mind the variety of sensations you get as you raise your energy body levels through his energy exercise, which include pressure, warmth, cold, heaviness, tingling, or buzzing. Perhaps you may have gotten one of these on your less responsive side and just don't quite notice it? If you feel something on your less responsive side that's like one of sensations I listed, I'd suggest you focus your self on that feeling as perhaps it could be one of those aforementioned sensations. That's what I did when I thought one of my energy center wasn't responding, though then I realized that it was occuring, but just took a while to develop. That may also just be your case as well?

I just got started with the N.E.W. energy practices last night. I'm 17, so you'd expect me to be bored of just practicing the energy exercizes, right? Wrong. I'm still having trouble even getting close to astral projecting, but combined with my strong desire to astral project and the slight tingling sensation I get in a certain part of my body that's responding to my practices with the N.E.W. energy raising practices, etc. I actually get more excited than bored. So maybe you should just keep your goals/desire for APg/mastering astral projection while you do the N.E.W. in mind? That's what's helping me. Maybe it'll help you get outta that boredom phase. :)

To learn and experience, as well as to become more aware and open about the things around me. I've always kinda 'known' that there were other 'worlds' or 'realms' that existed beyond ours. Now I want to affirm this theory by exploring it further. You can learn a lot from astral travel. Both of yourself, the world, others and the world you explore in the astral realm.

lol. Well if it makes you feel any better, CFTraveler, it's 7:20p EST over here where I am and I literally took a minute before I figured out that pun as well. XD Thanks for the link guys.

Thanks, Xanth and CFTraveler. I'll look into both of those. :)

So, I want to open my chakras now. And my third eye. What do you do to open your chakras? What kind of chakra meditations? How do you open your third eye?
#75
now I feel I need to master AP and open up some of my chakras. Very interesting test, thanks. Although I'm disappointed with how the majority of my chakras were found to be closed based on my results, 'tis probably nothing I can't change with a bit of chakra meditation, no? :)
