Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Prima sounds

They just use the penatonic scale, which is nothing new. I am not that skeptical about it, as I do believe the chakras have vibrational frequencies, and all of music is just vibration. If this scale matches the chakras, than it will probably have an effect, most likely a simulating one.

It probably wouldnt be a good idea for me to make you a copy. 1., i have no direct access to a 2 vcr setup, 2., I couldnt just give one out, i hafta make a bunch for everyone else who wanted one, and 3., it's illegal anyways. I'm sure you can find a copy on ebay or amazon. Amazon's prices are rediculous, but check around. I got mine for 20$.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Favorite Lyrics!
August 29, 2003, 20:22:30
I'm gonna post some lyrics from Dredg. Not a very big name, but they have some of the most inspiring music I've ever listened to. This is from the album "El Cielo," which would be my recommendation to check out. It's a concept album on cases of sleeping paralysis, but there's always something a little more behind their songs. This is the song I'd recommend anyone to download:

SAME OL' ROAD

Here we go down that same old road again,
Sympathy unfolds the shell that holds,
All beauty within,
Here we go down that same old road again,

A memory, a regret, a hope...

Here we go down that same old road again,
Empathy controls the wind that blows,
And tickles our skin,

A memory, a regret, a hope, a stimulant...

Recent it seems, we must push on,
We must push on, though we bleed,
We must push on, we must push on...

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood,
In a modest town where honest people dwell.
Making the cleanest energy,
For the greenest plants to grow,
In the richest soil that is drenched,
With the freshest rain,
Then you should sit in your backyard,
Watch clouds peak over the tallest mountain tops,
Because they unveil honest opinions about the stars.

We must push on, recent it seems,
We must push on, we must push on,
Though we bleed, we must push on, we must push on...

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

Welcome to Integral Philosophy! / What is real?
August 26, 2003, 20:48:23
To me, everything you experience is real. I live by this, putting emphasis on imagination, dreams, and things I question the reality of.

I've been following all of your posts Allanon, and you were persistent enough for me to take a second look at why I believe at what I believe and why I do not choose Christianity.

This is what I came up with:

Why would I blindly choose Christianity over anything else? What makes it so special? Just because Jesus is involved? He was a human like all of us. One who left a great impact on the world, yes, but we all have the potential to do the same in our lifetimes. There are an infinite number of paths to God, why would God have it so that only one path is correct? If what you say is true, God is selecting us by giving each one of us dice and if we roll the wrong number, we're screwed.

I learn from the consequences of my actions. It seems to be the most foolproof way to develop a way of life. I believe that this is the method God uses for all of us, and we will all eventually end up in the same place. So I'll try something, and if that something just happens to bring to Hell, I'll know better next time. There's no possible way that there would be no second chance.

I want you to at least consider this with as open of a mind you can manage, and I want you to take another look at Soulfire's 26 August 2003 : 03:41:03 post. He had many good points which I guess you just ignored because it goes against what you believe.

I hafta disagree. I have projected, and I have little practice with quieting the surface mind. I still remember my thoughts racing preceding the projection, but it was my determination and experimentation with different techniques/feelings that got me out.

warlockyoshi,

You have some pretty awesome dreams! Sounds like you could make a movie out of them. I personally don't think it's any sort of prophecy, I think it's probably representative to something going on inside you.

Ever seen/played Resident Evil? It's kinda funny cuz that's pretty similar to that series.
#58
This is actually the method I used to have my FIRST PROJECTION! I got my variation on this from someone on this forum, I can't remember who it was though. You imagine kind of a rectangular box around you, and try to push on this box to turn urself around, without moving ur actual body of course.

beav31is,

I fully agree with your theory. I've always tried to live by that, but I've never really seen it much. But using metaphysical knowledge, you can use logic to come to this theory.

I like your explanation of why it is difficult too. Society has a big impact on the world. In fact, it completely controls and governs it.

I think this is exactly what The Matrix is about too. He finally realizes you can do anything if you escape from society.

Shaolin Monk,

My words of advice: don't give up. What we believe determines our very reality. If you believe (mostly subconsciously) that something is not possible, it's not going to happen. There are an infinite number or realities and we determine which one we inhabit by the decisions we make. If you believe in ki, it will exist. I'm in the process of redesigning my belief system in order for me to redesign my reality. Don't let other people tell you what to do, take their opinions and constructive criticisms, but live the life YOU want to live.

I enjoyed the book thoroughly, and got very much from it. I actually found all that "belief system rhetoric" very interesting and valuable. He systematically proved to me what I had not know for sure before. If you don't like what you're reading so far, you probably won't enjoy the rest. It's all just his accounts of the evolution of himself. I however, found it as a source of inspiration.

Jilola,

Now that you mention that. I know what you mean, I've felt that dizziness before. Just like getting up after lying down for awhile. But this was completely different. It was a powerful spinning sensation, not at all lightheaded. It's hard to describe, but there was a distinct difference, apart from the obvious difference in intensity. The overall feeling of it was much more overwhelming and I think too sudden to be what you're talking about. It hit me full force within a couple seconds.
#63
No Tool yet? I'll hafta take care of that. The music is very abstract at times, while at the same time powerful and meaningful. Not to mention they are overall an extremely tight band. The members are also very "enlightened" individuals. If this is new to you, check out the cd "Lateralus." Or you can download the song "lateralus" or the trilogy of songs: "Disposition," "Reflection," and "Triad" for a full experience.

I'm not trying to sell the music, but check it out if you don't have a preference yet.

Donnie Darko and Waking Life
#65
That very well could be the case, although I don't practice yoga or any real specific breathing exercise. It was just something that came over me, and like you said, it was pretty overwhelming. What did your kundalini rush of energy feel like?
#66
I'm in til I'm gone for Summer. But this looks like a very good idea.
#67
That's a very interesting theory Celestial (long time no talk by the way [|)] ). I'll try to be less concerned with my breathing and accept the fact that I can trust that this is being handled by my subconscious and is under control. Thanks for the tip.
#68
PearlyBear,
That's pretty much what it feels like, I'll give your approach a shot. thanks

Tom,
I'll definitely look into that book. It looks like it could help in much more than just my breathing problem. thank you also
#69
dreamingcarnage, welcome to our little online society of astral (and beyond) venturers (sp?). Anyways, you raise some very interesting questions, only one of which I think I can handle.

Is there anyway to survive Void? Still retain identity?

It's obvious that you survive voids because there would be no one to tell about them if we don't. I've always imagined that you are still yourself, but in nothingness. I think that you still act and think like you, that it's only your surroundings that change. I may be wrong, but I'm very curious as to some others handle these.

Fyrenze,
I have heard of sleep apnea, and have considered it, but have ruled that out because of the nature of the experience. I feel like it's a sunconscious "here it comes!" kinda reaction that I'll probably have to learn to overcome.

Fredhedd,
Thanks for the tip, I kinda figured that's what it was gonna take, but I was crossing my fingers for a shortcut. I'll keep working on it.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Aliens
May 01, 2003, 06:58:06
I've actually had a fear of the idea and appearance of aliens since I was maybe 5 or 6. No idea where or when it came from though. But still, I find them to be very creepy looking.
#72
Well, I'm no Christian myself, but I know someone who is and talked with her about her view of out of body experiences. She said that she believed people have them when God has something important to show someone. I don't think she accepted the fact that people can have them willingly and control them at their own leisure. But that at least is her view.
#73
I also feel more natural climbing a rope that is parallel to my body while lying down. I will put some more time into it and see what results I can get.
#74
If such a thing exists, I would also appreciate itm a I'm a very visual person. I know there are images/designs to meditate on, but with a purpose of astral projection, I don't know. Anyone?
#75
According to Robert Bruce's book Astral Dynamics, you had an etheric projection. Your etheric body is the closest energy body to your physical body and normally stays in tact with it in most waking states. When it gets too far, the energetic connection is weakened, as you probably experienced. Robert Bruce says that when you have an etheric projection, it's usually without any vision and you become extremely weighted down and/or paralyzed.
