While Xehupatl's message was a lot more caustic than was called for, he did have a point.  Kundalini was discussed to great lengths not too long ago (6 pages worth) at http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1016

James:  Thanks for your perspective on depression and the medications used to treat it.  I too am taking things for my depression, and I have a hard time not feeling like a loser myself (because that's how I often judged depressed people before I got it myself).
Anyway, I do hope to get off them someday, if I can develop good coping skills as you mention doing with meditation.

Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / NEW
October 11, 2002, 19:29:34
Even just the parts of NEW that relate to unblocking your secondary pathways (hands & feet, etc) are darn useful.  After I did that, but before I started intentionally raising any energy, I had a few nights where I woke up with vibrations.  So it's good to get your system "tuned up", even if you don't plan to use it regularly.

I think the main thing that sets this guy apart is that this guy is killing random people, and quickly.  Normally a serial killer just goes after, say, Jews or prostitutes or whatever.  This guy kills people pumping gas or mowing their lawn, stuff we all do - so we all feel vulnerable.
Plus he seems awfully sharp to be able to avoid leaving much of any trace of himself behind.  Even the Unabomber had a sketch or two of him circulated about, and he was at large for many years.
Anyway, at the pace this guy is killing at, I'm sure he'll be caught soon (and I'm sure he knows it), but not before going out w/ a heck of a bang.  (I'm wondering if he hasn't rigged his van w/ explosives to kill whoever tries to arrest him?)

Whenever I rest on my side, whichever arm is on the bottom falls asleep, so that's no good for me.  And I can't lay on my back at all, due to complications from a car accident.  So I'm pretty much limited to my stomach (which is uncomfortable on my neck, but sometimes I manage not to get a headache).
The only two times I think I might have awakened to a semi-OBE state, I was on my stomach.  For what it's worth.

I do remember reading that RB is originally from England, but I think he's lived in Austrailia for some time now, so I'd guess the accent is a blend of both.

As for a link between 'visitors' and negs, the impression that I got was that what Whitley was dealing with was neg-related, in that it had the properties of something from the astral trying to manifest in the physical, but that it was a tool and (I'm guessing) artificial in nature.
Kinda reminds me of the X-files episode about the robotic cockroach swarms.http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_evil.gif" border=0>

Welcome to Psychic and Paranormal! / Salt...
October 10, 2002, 15:32:25
I have to agree about salt being very important in the body, it's an electrolyte; your body needs it so the electric signals your brain sends to the rest of your body reach their destination.  If you don't have enough, it's like an engine with a bad spark plug.  Unless you have high blood pressure, don't worry about your salt intake (and if you drink a lot of water like I do, you might want to use extra - I actually have low blood pressure).
As for eating salt after it's absorbed negative energy, that'd seem like a bad idea, but I can't say from experience.  In a few of PPSD's countermeasures (like the one that uses an egg), he suggests getting rid of the item (burying it in that case; and in another case, flushing whatever it was down the toilet).  Anyway, salt is cheap, so it's no big loss.
There are a hundred reasons why someone could be tired, if it's a chronic problem, have him see a doctor.

In AD it says something about what we pull up through our legs are earthly energys. But the hands pull a diff. kind of energy from the air.Well something like that.

I didn't reach that part in AD yet, but it squares with a few other things I read on meditation from {what I think is} a buddhist perspective.  A few quotes about various meditation postures from a section of the website http://members.tripod.com/internalart/main.htm -

"In the standing posture, Heavenly chi (Universal Chi) can come in from the crown of the head, and Earth Chi can come in from the sole of the feet"

..and,

"[In] sitting postures, the hands can be place either overlapped in front of the dantien or on the knee palms up. This allows us to receive energy from the Heaven (Universal Chi). Together with the energy received from soles of the feet, especially in the Full Lotus, the whole body is bathed in heavenly chi. This Universal Chi, which is yang in nature, will ascend upward to the higher centers for advanced meditation."

So it appears that the source of the energy (Earth or Heaven) depends not on which limbs you grab it from, but where they're pointing.

I would think that a good nursery would have some.  I know seed companies carry herb seeds; for example, you can buy St. John's Wort seeds at www.burpee.com ...

On the topic of herbal remedies though, I find that they all do next to nothing for me.  If I know I'm coming down with a cold, all the echinacea in the world won't fight it off, but if I get a good day & night of sleep (and keep warm) I can usually avoid the cold altogether.  Heat & rest are the only things my body really wants.

Tom:  ..."melatonin is readily available in pill form. It is often combined with B6 and magnesium. Taking it is supposed to make dreams more vivid"...

quote:
Adrian:  ..." the Melatonin would likely put your mind further to sleep - so I would say, if anything, it would actually reduce the chances of dreaming"...

Whichever of these is the case would probably indicate its usefulness for trance/projection.  Tom, were you implying you were already trying it?  Has it indeed affected your dreaming?

As your physical body goes to sleep, it's like there is some signal that says, "Physical is going to sleep... now initiate Mind cut-off."

I don't know if I'm normal in this respect, but I think my mind goes to dreamland well before my body falls asleep.  That's why I get what I call "napjerks", when in my dream I'm falling or waving or something, and in my physical arm flails about in bed (sometimes waking me up, or sometimes waking up the person I've just unwittingly smacked in the head). http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_blush.gif" border=0>

Then, as the screen comes fully into view, I take the next step which is normally to travel to my regular guide, Harath. Unless I'm going through a "not talking to him" phase in which case I might take an Astral stroll, have a chat with a few locals, and so on.

LOL, what's that all about?  Do you get a little peeved with him for some reason?  I had to laugh there, sorry if It offended you.  I just think of some bearded guru saying "Well yes, I have a spirit guide, but he and I aren't speaking to each other right now."http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_shy.gif" border=0>

then I looked back at my body and it was not on the bed anymore .. I dunno what that was all about

I believe the Treatise mentions that the brain will sometimes just refuse to believe that you can see yourself from elsewhere.
quote:
my body will start to itch in various places .. this REALLY REALLY AGGRIVATES ME .. ohh GOD I hate it .. I will sit there and try to focus on making it go away until it does ..

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one this happens to!

I wish I could help, but you've gotten farther than I have.  I think I had two OBEs in the middle of the night, but I don't remember them clearly at all and the only way I got to that state was waking up with vibrations.  It seems like I get most of my mid-sleep vibrations when I do full-body circuits before bed.  That's all I can suggest...
#63
I just happened to stumble across the Treatise a few years ago.  I've always been interested in "spiritual" matters, but had never believed that we could view or otherwise experience them first-hand until I read that.  I think I was destined to see that and start to change my world-view to allow for growth in this direction.
Even if I never have an OBE, I'm glad I have what I consider to be a more open-minded view of the multiverse.

I have the same question, actually.  It's not like I [nor, I assume, auraseer] have a specific healing need, I just think being able to heal people with energy raised via NEW would be one of the best benefits of doing energy work, and I'm wondering how it's done.  Is it all about correcting an energy imbalance?  Or do you convert "generic" energy into "healing" energy?  Or is any kind of energy a panacea for all  problems?
The mechanics behind it always seemed fuzzy at best.  I think that was the gist of the original question.

It seems to me that if you want to come close to actually proving this, then get multiple people to have OBEs at the same time and meet each other.  If some of them experienced things that were a bit different than reality, but were still at the gathering, that would indicate that OBEs don't always reflect reality 100%.  {Whereas if the ones who thought they were there - but weren't seen by the others - had different experiences of the meeting, that would indicate that their OBE either took place elsewhere or was dreamt}

Anyway, I can certainly see Gus's point of wanting to know that his OBEs are valid even when they don't match the real world.  But for him to suggest that because something can't be proven it's not real, is also close-minded.  The phrase "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence," comes to mind.
#67
I think the theory behind it is something like this:
When you're having an OBE, you're in the Real-Time Zone, which isn't the physical world, but it's the "layer" of the Astral that's closest to it, so it very closely resembles it.  But since it is still the Astral, it's subject to the viewer's thoughts / imagination / beliefs, etc.

Althought I don't know how anyone would know this for sure, but that probably seems the best explanation based on everyone's experiences.

#68
I had thought something along the same lines would be useful (I too sometimes skip posts from newcomers), but as it was pointed out, what it would rate is a complicated thing (plus, those I'd most want to ignore would probably rate themselves highesthttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_dissapprove.gif" border=0>).  So I agree it probably wouldn't work.
But I don't think it's a question of judging others as much as a one of how best to spend our time.  For example, this isn't the only forum around on OBE / metaphysics, but it's the only one I spend time with anymore - not because I've judged the other forum's members to be wrong or whatever, but because I can find better information and friendlier people here.
Well, anyway, I think what I think, and I know my motives are pure anyway...

I don't know that #13 (Vegemite "tea") is much of an option for those outside of Austrailia.  I had to special-order mine over the phone.  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_big.gif" border=0>

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Question ...
September 16, 2002, 08:30:09
Patty:  See http://www.tower.net.au/~rsb/guides/oobe/oobe_8.htm#12 for RB's updated advice on that topic.
However, as I said above, my own [limited] experience leads me to believe he was right the first time in recommending they be closed.  One time, when I first started raising energy to the chakras, I forgot which order we were supposed to close them, so I figured "first in first out" would work and started my way up - well when I "closed" my throat one, my brow one started freaking out on me, spasms & such.  Maybe there was some other cause, but I figure having "closed" my lower ones caused energy to get blocked up top, so now I still close but of course I go top-to-bottom now.  Can't hurt, anyway.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Question ...
September 15, 2002, 18:09:05
I first came across version one of the Treatise about 4 years ago [I'm prettu sure the NEW tutorial wasn't online then] and re-read it on my hard drive a few times over the years before finding out there was a version two (and a forum as well).
I'm pretty sure version one recommended closing chakras after stimulation, otherwise you might leak energy and attract negs [or something like that], and I see that that's been changed in version two; still, some of my experiences while doing those closing exercises indicates to me that it may work as originally intended.
But anyway, as I said, I don't think the NEW tutorial was online when I first started raising energy, so I never knew about the secondary systems until recently; once I started working on some of them, I started waking up with vibrations even without actively raising energy.  So I definitely recommend starting there.
Blossom:  The secondary system is the network of small energy centers such as those in the hands and feet, and the pathways that connect them and the chakras.  You'll read all about it when your copy of A.D. arrives. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

My diet isn't especially bad, but I still don't get enough veggies.  It's hard when the bad-for-you foods are cheaper and taste so darn good. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_wink.gif" border=0>
On the topic of overeating, here I have my main problem.  I picked up what I'd consider a mild eating disorder a few years back, in that I just don't feel right unless my stomach is quite full.  I've been trying for the last few days to only eat when I actually feel hungry, but so far I've been failing pretty badly.  I feel like I'm literally addicted to food.
Luckily, most of the food I eat isn't too high-calorie or I'd be in real trouble.

However, the only qualities you really need is to have a high degree of control over your projection experience. As not everyone who is trapped, is entoumbed in some frightful circumstance. Quite the opposite, some of them.

Opposite in what way... that their emotional loop is a happy one?  Or that they're not trapped at all, but rather waiting to ambush someone?
And how does it help to have good "control over your projection experience"?

(PS - this is the most amazing stuff I've ever read)

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Red Wine Whine
August 23, 2002, 10:00:44
I don't know as much about white wine as I do about red (which still isn't much), but I do know I love Auslese (a german white wine).  It's somewhat sweet, it's something I can drink and not make a face http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_dead.gif" border=0> (I've got pretty sensitive tastes as far as alcohol goes).
