Go to www.robertpeterson.org and you can read his first book online for free.  Its one of the best on the topic and its the first book I read.  I think its better even than Astral Dynamics IMHO.

Sorry to tell you this, but thats called Tinnitus.  You can read about it here:

http://my.webmd.com/content/article/48/39169.htm?lastselectedguid=

I have a mild case of it from playing my guitar very loudly for years. It can get annoying, but it can also be slightly helpful for getting the vibes if you concentrate on it.  I don't use that method, but have tried it and started to feel the beginning symptoms of projection.

I don't doubt that for a minute.

So, what are we talking about?  Do you contend that "literal" out-of-body experiences, as I defined them, can actually occur?

Are all of you familiar with the hospital room experiments that have been done involving random number generators?  (Strictly speaking they concern NDE's, but same principle I think.)

I am absolutely saying they are real.  There are many experiments that have been conducted that show very strong evidence for the existance of OBE.  Many experiements have also failed.  Everyone will say this, but you have to try for yourself.  What do you have to lose?

Whoa.  My first reaction is, if you're telling the truth, you may be clinically psychotic.  Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that.

But are you guys serious?  I've been a pretty open-minded seeker for a long time, but I've never experienced anything like that.

Are you talking about dreaming, or something else?  I have awesome dreams from time to time, and I'd love to cultivate that.  I saw that movie Waking Life, which was excellent.  I think about the thing where you're supposed to become aware that you're dreaming, and I'm not sure about it.  I seems to me that, in the kind of primo dreams I sometimes remember, it's not that I don't "know" I'm dreaming. I think my dreaming mind (for lack of a better word) is in a different place that it fully recognizes.  It's as real to me as real can get.

Controlling dreams?  Sounds awesome but it's a long ways off for me.

Back to OBE's though.  A strict definition has to be that a person is moving around without his or her body through everyday reality.  By "person" I guess I mean the conscious mind along with some physical senses - vision and hearing? Smell/taste? Touch?  And here's the clincher - the person is able to witness and report back on physical events which occurred out of the presence of his or her physical body.

I don't tend to believe it happens, but I could be convinced, I guess.

You have much to learn.

Yes I think that lying on the back causes a bit more discomfort and therefore keeps you a bit more aware.  When I go to sleep, I curl up on my side because its much more comfortable to me.

Thanks guys!  Jeff...I love your program BTW and will probably register soon!  Heres a question I forgot to ask of everyone...does anyone else get the vibes during the day while awake?  I seriously can feel a high frequecy vibration many times throughout the day.  This started a few weeks ago.  It seems to be strongest in my hands, legs, and the center of my chest.  This isn't a tingling sensation, but a vibration.  About a week ago I had another strange exerience.  I was practicing TK on a candle, and "tuned into" its energy.  As I moved my fingers close to the candle, I could feel vibrations in the air all around it.  It started about 6 inches from the flame.  I checked several times and they were definatly there.  I then tried to tune into another object and move it.  Then I immediatly went back to the candle and felt nothing around it (I'm guessing because I had "de-tuned" from it).  I then attempted to tune into it again and the vibrations appeared again.  I could feel them in my fingers quite clearly.  Has anyone else had this experience?

I think very highly of Mr. Monroe, but I think that its a complete waste of money to pay $1000 to go to the institute.  You can acheive OBE yourself without any help, and I feel like the institute capitalizes on people who are "desparate" to succeed and can't.  $300-$400 might be more reasonable, but $1000!?

The Seeker, you live in VA Beach eh!?  I'm from Norfolk, live in Newport News right now, and travel to the beach alot.  Thats cool theres someone on here from this area.  About the Cayce foundation, check out the library there...my father learned all he knew about Astral Projection from there.

It means you were allergic to something in the room...perhaps mold.

The way I do it is by just shutting my mind up.  Theres no "technique" although breath awareness can help if you can't "just do it".  For me, it is just like stopping talking.  You just don't talk...thats it.  Practice and you will learn it.  It can be very hard.  Don't fight yourself, because the thought of "BE QUIET, MIND!" is mental dialouge as well.  Just relax and...well...shutup! This is incredibly interesting!  I know the exact effect...I've noticed it many times while staring at a cloudless sky.  Can this be used to induce OBE?  The articles never mention OBE at all, but rather telepathy mainly.  I'll give this technique a try tonight and see how it goes.

Hmmm...well I can tell you that I had no drugs, alcohol, or medications.  As far as food...I don't even remember.  I'm starting to think that Fallnangel is 100% correct.

Not to out you down at all, but less than 2 weeks ago you said you had never had a sucessful AP before.  I highly doubt you've been to the Mental plane...seasoned APers like Robert Bruce have only been there VERY few times.

Its pretty easy to tell if it was an OBE...did you eventually snap back to your body and wake up?  If not, then it wasn't an OBE.
