I have succubus problems as you, and my advice to you is:
Apply some of the passive countermeausures as given in RBs book PPSF, such as salt, running water and garlic. Then do banishing rituals (such as LBRP or SWP), this helps to break down an unbalanced atmosphere (at least partially).
Then when the attacks have grown less severe, read some psalms, or pray.
Also it is good to use a dowsing device to see if there is a negative leyline which the negs are using for attacking you.

The problem with negs is that they can be connected to a variety of causes: emototional/traumatic, karmic, etc. It is no easy task to come to the roots of the problem. But the most important step in severing their links and healing their connecting points is means primarily to know oneself, and try to discipline one's thoughts and desires. This is of course no easy task.

Also advancing spiritually or magically also means more responisbility on the practictioner. I recall the renowned occultist WE Butler once saying that once we advance as occultists we have to take more responsibility for our own use of the magical knowledge we have gained, otherwise we can fall into the hole of being black magicians without intending so, as the saying goes: "the way to hell is paved with good intentions".

Dion Fortune in her book PSYCHIC SELF-DEFENSE give the method: as I recall it was visualizing a equal armed red cross on a white background.
I've tried it out once and got a reply, though probably not from the astral police, I assume it was the higher self, as I found a sort of re-enactment of the LBRP take place around me, just as if the higher self set out the astral wards.

Fortune in her book, also mentions this happening to her once; e.g. her higher self taking control of the situation.
I don't know if there was a line-up of occultists patrolling (or trying to patrol) the Astral Plane in her days, but I don't know if this is valid for today. Still it gives some hope to all haunted souls.

[Keeping up the astral defense]

Fighting negs requires a multitude of techniques (so I've found):
* Keeping up the astral defense, even if you have negs in your aura, they are hindered from fully attacking you, but these vermin try to disturb your visualisations of archangels and such.

* []Disciplining the mind[/b .Negs attack not only by having you obsessing about certain erotic images, but also by making you do wish-thinking (I wish that girl would be mine..) or thoughts of worry ( a fellow student of mine fell acutely ill with what looked like she was having a aneurysm or something, a voice later told me that she had died. It later showed that she had recovered.)
Negs want you to dwell on illusory ideas, things that are partly true, partly false, maybe because it is an effecticeway of attacking psychologically.

* Don't masturbate if you are neg-infected!, or you're in for serious trouble!!.Throw all erotic pictures in the trash-can right away as negs reside in these pictures. And God help those poor souls who use inflated dolls!
Negs use the etheric-force in the semen/the corresponding female sexual essence/to strengthen their grip on you. Try to minimize any autoerotic practice to a minimum.
Ordinary sex with a consistent partner might be o.k. but I'm very uncertain there.
I've long wondered what would happen if a neg-infected man would get together with a girl who has a clean aura, would they try to get into her aura as well, when the two would have intercourse??
They probably would try to get into her aura, if it's weak and if they like her energies.It seems like certain negs prefer men over women though.

* Keep track of your dreams:
Eroticism, dark atmospheres and guilt scenes are good indicators of neg presence.

* Negs attack usually on negative leylines (those that weaken you) and especially on the negative crosses.

* Try to Counterattack them with your own images. They don't like visualizations of martial archangels, or the Crucified Christ, or a saint making a blessing.

* Atavisms can be helpful. Assuming your totemic/shamanic power-spirit's animal form can be helpful.

* Activating Hara centre might be helpful.
Visualizing the bright white light as dark red might be helpful as mentioned here previously. I'm also thinking about the activation of The Hara psychic centre, a bit below the navel (see Frater U:D:s excellent book SECRETS OF SEXUAL MAGIC). I've tried to awaken it once and it seemed that it might be helpful in strengthening the aura, similar to the Kundalini. I've tried to awaken the Kundalini and partially succeeded.

* Play sacral music.Gregorian singing is probably excellent.
As Robert has mentioned some negs hate lullabies and uplifting music.
Though avoid dissonant music, such as Modern Classical Composers, as that music can also damage your astral defenses.

How do you do this exactly? Do you bring the light down from the sphere above the head and then re-direct it upwards?

To add to my previous comment, I'd noticed the importance of observing your train of thoughts. It is helpful to try and keep the inner eye-screen blank and if core-images appear, just let them pass or try and bend them around and burn them.
Keep notice of all thoughts such as erotic ones, thoughts of desiring  or aggressive ones, they are likely to be neg-related.

Also keeping a diary of dreams is very helpful.
Negs' influence in dreams are typically (so I've found):
* fear-inducing. Nightmares of any kind, but usually with a haunted disturbing atmosphere.
* erotic dreams, or dreams of a seductive nature.
* guilt-inducing. feeling gulity is yet another way of getting someone's aura to weaken in it's defenses.

I just wanted to add here that I've had success holding the negs at a distance for a week now, and I've noticed clear psychological differences:
* My thought pattern has changed. I don't go over certain thought-images. (currently I try to avoid any thinking that might venture there again)
* I'm more calm. Even when I'm irritable, I don't "blow things sky high".
* I'm seeing other things astrally, such as when taking a rest the other say, a parade of elemental gnomes !?.

It is important to state here that I've been keeping up doing the Ogdoadic SWP banishing ritual. Also listening to Graham Bond's record HOLY MAGICK seem to have some positive effect on my astral environment.

For those who don't know Graham Bond was a bluesprog musician who played with musicians such as Ginger baker, jack Bruce, etc. He was heavily influenced by magick and Crowley/GD/AA. His album HOLY MAGICK (1970) includes a intro where the musicians chant the Qabalistic Cross and some Enochian calls.
Unfortunately Bond died in the mid seventies being run over by a train. It is said that his Pentagram necklace was spared though

If your looking for great practaical guide books on ceremonial magic, I warmly recommend the books of W.E. Butler!
Especially his books:
MAGIC & ITS RITUAL, POWER AND PURPOSE
THE MAGICIAN - HIS TRAINING AND WORK
APPRENTICED TO MAGIC
MAGIC & THE QABALAH.

I'm unsure which of these are still in print but Thoth Publications has some of Butler's books.
Together with the books of Franz bardon, Butler's books are arguably the best in terms of practicality.
Butler studied magic under the legendray female occultist Dion Fortune in her Society of the inner Light, later on he formed S.O.L together with Gareth Knight.

Butler gives a lot of excellent excercises, for concentration, visualization, astral projection, etc. coupled with lots of profound wisdom, humour and sound advice. He also pushes for morality in magic, which I agree with as being fundamental, as ceremonial magic in essence, is a system of spiritual development, rather than personal enpowerment.

There is also an excellent questions-answers book called LORDS OF LIGHT (now probably out of print) which is a very amusing read, where Butler in his old age gives wonderful answers to everything from the Qabalah, delaing with elementals, to exorcism, etc.

Butler's books are so much better than Craig's Modern magick, which I don't give much for. Ok, it is a decent guidebook, but I think that he leads his readers astray in his personal mishmash of Golden Dawn/tantric/wicca system. Why not write a book called Golden dawn magick for the solitary practitioner instead (using the original versions of the original rites)??

I have been thinking of trying out some tantric method or shamanic (these two are of course closely connected,as Tibetan vajrayana buddhism was heavily influenced by the Tibetan shamanic Bon-religion) as the neg-problem seems related to it.

I remember consulting a psychic healer some years ago, and he said that the "negs" were there because some being on a spiritual plane had given them permission to be there.
Another psychic healer said that it all was connected to a karmic problem (I had in aprevious life been a aboriginal shaman and abused my powers), the attacks being astrally asociated with a voodoo-like curse, manifsted as a kind of steel-mesh like sphere covering my aura, but that it was in the process of dissolving karmically.
All this might sound incredible to many, but I've had had many spontaneous shamanic experiences and recently, whilst visualizing myself standing in magical robe I distinctly heard a droning didgeridoo-like sound.

Some may say that hypnosis would be a way to find out the cause of the problem, but this is a method strongly argued against in the western esoteric tradition, but meditation might be a way??

I've had this problem so long now that I want to find a method that is really working, as this condition feels like it is most of all a stick in the wheel, hindering my spiritual development.

I've found that negs also usually try to "block" the higher chakras, such as the crown and the third eye. When doing banishing rituals and channeling the light of the godhead, there immediately pops up images that are clearly neg-related. Usually I just ignore them and they fade, or I try to turn them mentally around (the images). Often they reveal just spiders, alien-like faces etc.

The problem when having core-images is that it's hard to locate them (their roots and branches) properly, as they can be well hidden unless disturbed by action that involves the higher energies. Saying " Allah akbar" even though not being a Moslem, makes the negs twist in fury as well.

Also one counter-meausre when having an implanted thought is affirming for oneself silently: "the aura is getting stronger, the negs are getting weaker". It is effective if one also try to synchronize it with the breath, where the first line would be breathing in and the other line breathing out.
It seems like the illusions that negs use to attack or feed through, is damaged when the attacked "host" sees these illusions for what they are and verbalize it.

Neg is a short for "negative entity" and are unbalanced lower astral entities that attach themselves to humans or animals and parasite on their energy. They manage to get inside the aura and attach themselves to the chakras and other psychic centres. It is a sort of half-possession (they force their host to produce certain types of unbalanced energy). They usually feed on sexual thoughts or thoughts of anger, hate.
When they have establised themselves they are not easy to get rid, though there are various methods for doing so.
They also prey on victims on magnetically negative leylines, where a normal person might experince fatigue.
They can appear in various forms, when seen on the astral they can for example look like jellyfish, and other sea-life, or like dark spheres.

If you are indeed attacked by a succubus/or any other type of parasitic neg/astral vampire, there are signs that can help you figure out more about the situation.

Neg-attacks of this kind consist of the following:
*induced erotic images that appear in the mind´s eye, they are NOT willed, and appear regularly, and they are definitely of the intruding kind.The urge to fantasize about something.
Sex fantasies are fine, but loss of energy is not.Often you may feel drowsy after these induced fantasies.

*induced drowsiness, like a magnetic beam that is attached to your temples/head or eyes.It feels like setting close to a highly magnetic source.

*general feeling drained of energy, weak.There may be zits,moles or irritated areas on your head.The eyes may be irritated.

*pressure on the chest just before you are waking up from sleep.

*nightmares that consist of an evil, unpleasant or disturbing atmosphere. The beings that attack you may appear as a dark sphere that keeps pressing on to your astral body, or attack you in a "physical" way, or appaear as an alluring woman/man, trying to seduce you.The atmosphere in the dreams are often fabricated to make you afraid, gulity or aroused. Fear, guilt and sex weaken the aura.

*Certain ideas, fantasies or images become charged, and you get obsessed by them, always wallowing them over and over in your mind.

*the negs may take shape of that which you desire, such as a beautiful woman, if you are astrally sensitive enough, they are clearly seen as such.

And that Negs only attack in dreams, is completely untrue! They attack any time at day, theír attacks may though be connected to a special place (the place where you live may have been inhabited by an alcoholist or anyone heavily addicted to drugs or sex, such attract negs as well) also certain parts of your house may be connected to the attacks, your bed may be situated on one of those intersecting leylines - I think they are called "curry crosses" (probably misspelling here), these "earth-energy crosses" are negative/magnetic and a person sitting on them generally may feel fatigue, or weak. These lines can be found using a pendulum.

You may keep a journal and note every time each day you are attacked, enter: date, time, place, situation, moonphase (attacks may be more frequent during waning moon).Note your dreams, they may hold many clues.

To stop these attacks (or lessen them) you need to start practicing a banishing ritual, the easiest (if you´re good at visualising) is TOWER OF LIGHT (you imagine a dark-blue ovoid enclosing your entire aura, also above your head shines a brilliant white sphere which you imagine showering white, healing light on you. This sphere represents the divine aspect of you, the higher self).
Other banishing rituals are LESSER BANISHING RITUAL OF THE PENTAGRAM or SETTING OF THE WARDS OF POWER.But they demand time and concentration, and TOL may be best to start with.

Also thought control may be a way to deal with these beings, there are excellent excercises in Franz Bardon´s book INTIATION TO HERMETICS.
The images may be crossed over in red in your imagination when they appear, or try to set fire to them (in your mind) or attack them with a sword.

Also NUMEROLOGY can also be used as a means to see if there is a tendency to have hardships.

I have a friend who is very much into the system used in the book THE DIVINE TRIANGLE, he has come to the conclusion that most accidents etc. are numerologically associated with the numbers 4, 8 and 11.
For example to find out your lifenumber just add date of birth, month (2 if is February) and year of birth. If you are born 4th February 1975, it is 4 + 2 + 1+9 + 7 +5 = 28 =1. To find out your soulnumber add together the vowels of your name, all names giev at birth included.

Personally I have 35/8 as lifenumber and my life has had the shade of karma over it to say the least

One little prayer (of my own making) that I´ve used is:
CHRISTOS SOTER, CHRISTOS PANTOKRATOR
(Christ The Saviour, Christ the All-Mover)
Soter means "saviour", "Pantokrator" is a Neoplatonist divine name for Jupiter/Chesed. "Christ" is here used symbolically primarily as representative of Tiphereth and the forces of equlibrium, or the gnostic Christos if you like.
As I´m studying the Aurum Solis system I´ve found this somewhat helpful, as it can be read as a mantra, faster and faster. A bit similar to the hesychast Jesus prayer.It drives those negs nuts

I recommend you to start doing a warding rite such as THE TOWER OF LIGHT (first relax, breathe long deep breaths, then you visualize a deep-blue elliptical form all-encompassing your aura, as well as the sphere of the higher self shining brilliant-white 15-20 cm above the crown of your head, after that you imagine sparkles of healing white light showering down on you).This ritual only takes a few minutes to do.

Other rites to recommend is THE SETTING OF THE WARDS OF POWER (SWP)/or THE LESSER BANISHING RITUAL OF THE PENTAGRAM (LBRP).These rituals should be done at least once a day, as their durability are 24 hours.
THE ROSE-CROSS RITUAL (of The hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn) is also a ritual that can be used.

Perhaps you have as spell or curse connected to you, though this  is something that is not so common. When I consulted a psychic healer in 2001, he said that I had a steel net covering my astral body like I was caught in the midst of a spider´s web, which probably were the results of a voodoo curse.
He also said that the attacks I had were a sort of karmic repercussion, in the past I had had lots of power which I misused and so I had got enemies.

Try to write down your attacks regularly, what are they like, when do they occur (during waning moon, on certain hours of theday?) did you sense any presences, etc. also keep check of your dreams, do you experience attacks in your dreams?

Do you study astrology? If not, I can recommned you to have a natal chart done, you can do one for free on www.astro.com, but you need birthplace, time of birth, etc. Find an astrologer that is good at interpreting it (esoterically), there are books that provide interpretations though, but they are not so esoteric, meaning that their interpretation is more general and mundane.

Anyway the answer might show itself in the chart, if you for example have a lot of hard aspects, such as oppositions, squares, quincunxes, and/or a heavy influence from the planet Saturn (related to Karma) this may be answer to why you experience the hardships or difficulties. Also aspects to important planets such as the Sun, the Moon, or the rising sign/the ascendant may hold clues. The eigth house (ruled by Scorpio and realetd to sex/death/transformation/the occult) might also be emphasised.
The south node/Dragon´s Tail is connected to karma and also may hold clues to the attacks.

That method which you mention is a ritual gesture called CERVUS (meaning deer or stag) and is a part of the Aurum Solis banishing ritual SETTING OF THE WARDS OF POWER. The magickal system of Aurum Solis is best known through the books written by the pair Melita Denning & Osborne Philips. Both were/are leading members of Aurum Solis. Denning died of cancer in 1997, Philips is still grandmaster of the order.He has recently come out with a new book on OBE: ASTRAL PROJECTION: PLAIN AND SIMPLE (Llewellyn Publ.).

Their book PSYCHIC SELF-DEFENSE & WELL-BEING includes the Cervus gesture, and is a pretty good book on the subject, though it doesn´t go into much detail on the specifics of negs.They are divided into two main groups: unbalanced Elementals and astral shells (discarnate souls that feed on the energies of the living).

Also something that is helpful against neg-attachments is using incense-sticks of sandalwood or frankincense/olibanum to "clean" the aura, draw the stick up and down around the aura (like your brushing it with a feather), up around the crown chakra and the centre of the higher self (which is about 10 cm above the head), remember to pay attention to the feet, as they are especially vulnerable to neg-attachments.

This is very good to do after having taken a shower or a ritual bath. Also use the incense to circumabulate in your living quarters and/or magical temple (preferably in a widdershins/anti-clockwise direction as this is better when banishing).This can also be further supplemented by "rattling" the aura, you can use a bisquit-package if you don´t have a proper one. This also helps in clearing up neg-attachments.

Sandalwood-incense may be easier to obtain than frankincense, still it is very good as it is connected with exorcism as well it connects yourself with the higher self. Frankincense is a classic magick incense, also much associated with the Christian mysteries (also Christ represents Tiphereth/the equlibriating central force).If neither of these can be obtained, any incense stick will do. Other preferable types might be rose, myrrh, rosemary (connected with exorcism).


This procedure should NOT be seen as a banishing remedy in itself, but as a supplement to the one you use (such as TOL,LBRP, SWP), if you aren´t using one I suggest you at least do the TOL.

The LBRP is a banishing ritual that astrally cleanses (such as the aura of the operator)that which is within it´s circle. In simple words it keeps bad/unwanted energies out, and good energies in, like a filter. The force that is invoked and used is that of the higher self/the holy guardian angel, and is purely spiritual.
The ritual is energising, though less so than MPR, and it is advised to keep ritual implements when not in use, covered such as in a silk bag.
There are various descriptions (and various versions)of the ritual, but the one to look into is the original Golden Dawn version (it is a Golden Dawn ritual), I can´t direct you to a specific site, but there is an official "Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn" site, that should include it, or have links to it.

Negs/qlippoth are NOT like us humans connected to "The Divine Mind" and hence they are immensely jealous of us. They are as the word qlippoth implies "shells"- empty and devoid of the divine light. They want to steal our high Yetziratic/Briatic energy, and make us forget our connection to the Divine.

This also means that attributing qlippoth to the higher sephiroth Kether-Chokmah-Binah is incorrect as this would mean that the Atziluth which is all Spirit is in itself unstable.
The qlippoth are connected to worlds of Briah (mental world), Yetzirah (astral world) and Assiah (etheric/material world).

It has been said that "all magicians become mystics eventually", and being a mystic means solely seeking union with the divine, which also implies returning to the origin of all.

As we are all linked to the divine (through our divine spark the higher self), although we are all individuals and we choose individual paths,  we are all (unlike negs/qlippoth who are not linked to Atziluth hence their attacks on us) share in "The Divine Mind" and we are all destined to take "the way of return" to end up in the Divine.

I´ve checked up on that site, and that type of "invocation-rite" was something new to me.
Normally an invocation-rite means making an invoking pentagram (if it is elemental forces) or hexagram (if it is planetary or sephirothic forces), though Aurum Solis (the system I´m studying, uses the heptagram). Also visualizations of the archangel in question, using the attributes for the hebrew letters (can be found either in the book "The Golden Dawn" by Regardie or the book "the Sword & The Serpent" by Denning & Philips (which gives the Aurum Solis attributes for the hebrew letters),and using incenses of the particular sephiroth might enhance the working.

The rite given on "spirit-alembic" seems more to me like an ritualized prayer than an invocation rite to me, but if it´s effective, than it´s worth trying anyway.

The Key of solomon is not A ritual but a grimoire (a collection of preparations and lisitings of spirits that can be used for various purposes). This grimoire is available in an edition from Samuel Weiser, edited by Macgregor Mathers. Though I must point out that this is something NOT to meddle with if you haven´t done the basic magical ground work, such as a thorough study of the Kabbalah and the basic magical rituals such as SWP and CPR (Clavis Rei Primae) or it´s equal The Middle Pillar.

Setting of the Wards  (and CRP) is available in the book "Ogdoadic Magick" by Norman Kraft (also Samuel Weiser), and it´s a banishing ritual, that is equal to the one used by The Golden Dawn - The Lesser Banishing ritual of the Pentagram (or LBRP).

Also I´d lie to add here, that I´ve come to the conclusion that what I´ve experienced was NOT the dweller on the threshold, rather it is my belief that the psychic attacks I´ve had is of the HYBRID ATTACK type, meaning that the negs are controlled by a more powerful qlipphotic force who doesn´t want to reveal itself, it uses these lower negs to attack me, when their attacks misfire, it steps in but in a subtle way.

I´ve had encounters with qlipphotic beings in 1996 (both sensing their dark presence and seeing them outside the magical circle and in my inner eye).One appeared like a satyr, one like a greenflesh human-ilke figure with a slightly scaly skin.

I´m waiting for FRATERNITAS HERMETICA to prove that I´m right and give my help to fight this stronger force. The psychic healer I consulted in 2001, told me that there was a steel-like spidery net that enclosed me, and he thought that there was evidence of a voodoo-like curse, also I strongly felt that he was withholding info, he helped to remove the negs, but the feeling of being  "released of the negative burden" wasn´t there really.

Yesterday after having done my daily rituals, core images appeared in my inner eye, I attacked them using a imaginary sword which I held aloft "to bring into manifestation" and symbolically affirm it´s association with Spirit. But then something interesting happened, the sword was shattered by a dark round sphere. I repeated the same procedure and the thing happened again.

I´d like to point out that reaching Tiphareth is very difficult (equalled to the full Adeptus Minor degree) and it´s even hard to "ground" that state.
What you´ve experienced is probably a lower Samadhi, the higher ones are very diffcult to achieve and they also mean giving up your ego in the process.
I´ve had some quite high and powerful spiritual experiences when I studied Bhakti Yoga system of  Sri Chinmoy, thirteen years ago.
I fully reached the Higher Self through meditation on the heart chakra, and those experiences made me seeing things from a much more spiritual viewpoint (also I had not a single psychic attack then) but soon I had trouble grounding this, I found myself having to confront others´lower natures very much upfront (as well as my own), my spiritual lifestyle was very much questioned and eventually I gave up my Yogic life, because it demanded of me to live a life (like a monk) which I was not prepared for.

Instead I turned my gaze on the Western Mystery Tradition and started working a free-traditionalist magick way some years later(using D.M. Craig´s infamous book MODERN MAGICK) and now I´m studying the Aurum Solis system /Ogdoadic Tradition.
