I was telling a friend about projection last week and he said he'd like to project and explore the Bermuda Triangle.  Nice idea, I thought. [:)]
#52
I'm no expert, but it's my understanding that you shouldn't be aiming for vibrations at all.  They're a side-effect of a conscious projection attempt that may or may not happen, and certainly aren't completely necessary for an exit.  I could be wrong (it's happened once or twice [;)]) but that's what I'm given to believe.

Having said that, if you really want them, I've heard from various people that rolling your eyes back in your head helps to induce them (Robert Monroe used to do that in the early days).  I've never tried that, though.
#53
I just thought I'd add this.  According to Robert Monroe, people who die rapidly lose all interest in Earth affairs anyway.  Sounds about right to me.  I mean, suddenly you're thrust into this whole other reality!  Who would care about that boring old space/time continuum after that? [;)]

Mustardseed, I was starting to think that was a very coherent and well-put post until that last bit.  What, exactly, does that have to do with the issue at hand?  We're talking about the right of homosexual couples to marry.  No more, no less.

That's what I'm trying to discuss, anyway...
#55
Polygamy is a totally different thing, because at least those who want it can be married once, homosexuals aren't currently allowed even that.  They're being denied a basic right that is available to everybody else.  Don't you see that?

"what about those who hold the belief in the sacredness of the tradicional family, that a child should have a male father and a female mother?"

What if they're wrong?  Also - and I'm getting sick of repeating this now - marriage has absolutely nothing to do with children!
#56
"Marriage is a social institution established for the procreation of children"

I disagree.  Marriage is simply a legal confirmation of status for a couple.  Children don't have anything to do with it (which is why it's legal to have children when unmarried).  This is why I don't see why homosexuals can't marry, too.

(Edited to correct a very stupid mistake)

Jenadots, I see where you're coming from, but I do have issue with this one remark you made:

"The whole gay rights movement as a political movement does disturb me as I don't understand why sexuality has to be flaunted."

Campaigning for equal rights is hardly what I would call flaunting their sexuality (it's not like they chose to be gay or to be discriminated against).  Being able to marry each other is, at a guess, enough to appease most homosexuals - as far as I'm aware, it's the last real legal barrier.  It's my belief that if homosexuals were allowed to marry and have the rights of heterosexual couples we would see a drastic decrease in the political lobbying.  They just want to be treated like any other couple.

As for the polygamy thing, it's an interesting point but doesn't really apply here as the morals and ethics of polygamy are doubtless no more or less relevant to homosexuals as they are to heterosexuals.

OK, I just finished reading the section about the colours of Mars, including the letters that the author received and his replies to them.

The author concedes that there is little to no proof of any kind of conspiracy at all.  He also agrees that Mars looks red (or rather orange) except when viewed from within the Martian atmosphere.  This is why I will continue to agree with the man in the street that Mars is indeed the 'red planet'. Well for one thing, I wouldn't rely on anybody's observations from the RTZ because of susceptibility to reality fluctuations and unconscious altering due to expectations etc.

As for telescopic observations, I have seen hundred of pictures of Mars from not just NASA, but also public and private observatories around the world.  There's also the factor of lens filtration and other anomalies which may make certain small parts of Mars to appear blue or any other colour.  Besides, why would NASA want to have people believe it's red when it isn't?

I'm as open-minded as the next person, but I'd need a lot more convincing to even begin to believe Mars is anything other than predominantly red.
#60
That stuff about Mars not being red is bollocks, I've looked directly at  it myself through a telescope.  It is most definitely red.

You don't like it because it's wrong?  Why?  What's wrong with it?  You seem to be saying that marriage is fundamentally about man and woman to the exclusion of all else.  I just want to know why.  And please, don't cite religious reasons because they're irrelevant when discussing morals and ethics (not to mention irrelevant to anybody who isn't religious).

"Prove me that nature has not expressed itself by designing man and woman as they look like -- different."

So, is it wrong for a white man and a black woman to marry too?  They look different.

"Allowing legal unions between man and man and woman and woman raises their realtionships as high as is the marriage between man and woman."

Yep.  I don't see a problem with that.

"Call it whatever you want, but it simply is not marriage."

It would be marriage in the eyes of the law, if the law was changed to accomodate it.  Again, don't talk to me about religion because if people aren't religious, then marriage has nothing to do with religion.

"If you are convinced that a family that consists of two men or women is just as good as the one between a man and a woman, then that is your opinion."

Yeah I am, and let me tell you why.  I have seen many, many marriages between man and woman fail.  I have seen partnerships (because gay marriages aren't allowed here yet) between man and man or woman and woman succeed, for many years.  There's no distinction as far as I can see between the prospects or anything else for gay couples as opposed to straight couples.

Here's the really dangerous part of your argument, Gwathren:

"I'm saying that if we give gays so many rights, they will be taken as a normal thing which I don't like."

...which you don't like.  So, you don't like the idea, huh?  Well fine, you're entitled to your opinion, but so what?  Why the hell should your personal likes/dislikes affect other people's very rights?!

What if gay people had all the power, and decided to ban heterosexual marriages simply because they didn't like it?  How would that make you feel?  And by the way, citing religious reasons amounts to exactly the same thing, because even if there is a god like the one the Bible describes, who is to say what he really thinks about it?  Furthermore, why should people who don't believe in that god be affected by his followers?

Deciding the rights of others based on your own personal opinions is dangerous and wrong.  There are no two ways about it.  It's wrong.

Splendid!  Thanks for the review and I'm glad to hear it seems to be working for you.  Sadly, I've had to reroute my cashflow so I've been unable to buy my copy yet, but there's no doubt at all that I will get it eventually now.  Are you going to stick to Discovery 1 until you've mastered it then?
#64
Wahey, fantastic!  I'll be placing my order today if all goes to plan.  So, how is it?
#65
Really?  I was going to place an order on Friday.  Thanks for letting me know, buddy!
#66
Well, the site has Thawte-verified security and all credit card transactions are fraud-protected these days, so I doubt there's too much risk here.  I think I'll be ordering from this website and if so, I'll certainly post about the experience.

Thanks for the link. [:)]

Incidentally, a method for halting and even reversing the aging process via genetic manipulation was discovered by a team of researchers funded by an aging Texan billionaire.  In case anyone knows what this means, it's to do with re-lengthening the chromosomal telomeres.

However, the American government put a stop to it when they found out.  The poor guy is willing to test it on himself but is being prevented from doing so.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Donnie Darko
January 14, 2004, 20:16:14
Donnie Darko is the second greatest film ever made.  That's a fact, by the way, not just my opinion. [:D]

"Im wondering, if donnie never did listen to frank, would he had split into an alternate dimension?"

No, he would have died.
#69
I strongly suspect that many people here have met their collective superconsciousnesses without even realising it.
#70
Well yeah, but I mean don't focus on it specifically for any length of time.  Obviously your awareness has to pass over that point, but I think Bruce said not to let it linger there.
#71
"A few days of focusing on the specific area that hurts will go a long way to clear the blocks."

Isn't that contrary to the advice given in Astral Dynamics?  Maybe I'm wrong, but I coulda sworn that Bruce said that the best way to deal with energy blockages is to pull energy through and around them, and not to focus on them.
#72
Nice one Gandalf, I'll be buying Moen's books post-haste then.
#73
Indeed, Moen has a fairly informative website at http://www.afterlife-knowledge.com - as a matter of fact, it was through his website that I found Astral Pulse.

TMI is still going, I have communicated with them via email.  Their Hemi-Sync range is ever-increasing.

"In Moen's last book, he described how he and some others actually met up with the late Mister Monroe in one of the astral worlds, where he seems to be doing fine!"

I have heard that Monroe actually still has a hand in the running of the Institute!  At the very least, he has been reported to be a guide to the Explorer Teams that work from there.

Gandalf - do you recommend Moen's books?  Is there anything more to be learned, above what Monroe wrote?
#74
Robert A Monroe.  He only wrote three books - Journeys Out of the Body, Far Journeys, and Ultimate Journey.  You must read them in that order.

I cannot recommend them enough, they're what got me interested in projection, but projection is only the beginning.  Monroe went so far beyond the 'simple' OBE you wouldn't believe it.  By far the most astonishing books I've ever read in my life. [:)]
#75
"I remember Frank mentioned beings he met who caused this effect without realising it (their loving radiation caused him to 'melt') and he actaully had to ask them to turn it down a bit as he found it impossible to converse with them."

Fascinating!  Monroe experienced exactly the same thing!  I'm very glad to hear others have been verifying his work, because it would be great to know for certain that Monroe reported accurately; his views on the nature of reality and existence have filled me with a lot of hope.
