There will always be another and another doomsday "prophecy" or something of the like. The media has to have something to terrify the excrement out of everyone and get high ratings.

Happy Solstice everyone.  :-D

People are constantly doing things to get attention by the media, take the shootings for example. Of course I pray that nothing that horrible will happen tomorrow but It will be another day. I remember watching the news on new years eve of 1999. It was hilarious when the reporters were like "well...nothing has happened..."

Thank you for sharing your story. Just a couple of years I had a horrible infection of the digestive track and was in and out of the hospital. It was not pretty, and I remember how much pain I was in. Marijuana got me through some of the pain and took my mind off it. However, after the healing process, marijuana continued to give me panic attacks also. I would wake up in the middle of the night after smoking and feel like my family's life as well as mine was in danger. I was emotionally unstable, even though I didn't use it that heavily. I have smoked maybe once in the past six months and I feel like a whole new person. I cope with the stresses of life so much easier. Everything does not seem like a crisis anymore, just a challenge.

Keep up the great work. As I'm sure you know, there are many ways to achieve a natural state of bliss other then smoking pot.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Praying.
December 20, 2012, 00:40:07
In my opinion prayer can be very powerful if belief and intent are fueled behind it (yes, just like magick). I personally have been accustomed to addressing "The Universe" in my prayers. It's not like I pray before bed or dinner or anything, but I find in moments of sheer panic or gratefulness I send the Universe a quick but meaningfully please and thank you.

Very true Bedeekin. I think a lot of people are just having fun with the idea but they really don't think anything catastrophic will happen, though I suppose many young people don't realize catastrophic events take place every day but as long as they aren't directly effected by it everything is okay. I still have hope that the human race will change for the better but I know it will not happen over night and that we are a far ways off. We have to keep making the most of every day and not looking forward to future events that will make everything better.

Hubble, among other scientists, have tested and discovered that the universe is moving away from each other. If you are going to be concerned about the moon moving away then you should also keep in mind that all of the planets are moving away from each other. This is the outcome of the big bang. I am not taking any scientific stance but have come across this information more then once. We can not possibly know for sure what our solar system will have in store from moving further away, we could make some educated guesses but a theory is just a theory.

I'm still a little confused about the locals. Can someone point me to some information or insight into this. Perhaps a previous post or an article?

Trying to accuse people that their experiences must not be real but yours are is just silly.  :-P I also like desert rats idea that intelligent machines that might occur a break through in science and our reality could initially be created on the astral. I have had other inspirations occur while having an OBE that i remembered after waking up. A machine would be a little more difficult to replicate since the laws and limitations are different in the astral but it could be a start.

So the tunnel never led you to a destination Bedeekin, like Szaxx is talking about? I was just enjoying being inside the tunnel. I thought briefly that I would end up somewhere because of the pulling sensation but when I tried switching directions and flying upward things started to fade. O well, I won't be to hard on myself about it. I enjoyed the experience that is all that matters to me, but I would like to experience it again.

Basically the same as chopstickfox. In the morning time when I decide to go back to bed for a little snooze I start dozing off. My whole body goes numb and I feel like I'm slowly sinking through the bed or falling but not in a scary way. I then find myself in the astral. None of this requires any real effort from my part and I haven't had any success leaving my body at different times unless it is through a lucid dream.

It's so hard to pick favorites. I absolutely love post-rock/instrumental bands. These are probably the top three in that category but I also listen to a lot of heavy metal and electronica. Iron Maiden is my all time fave, along with Primus. These are some really amazing musicians though.

Ive tried them numerous times an they distract me from relaxing. Also i usially
Listen to music while going to bed so its not very effective for phasing.

This morning I woke up and after having a long and vivid night of dreams decide I should write them down ASAP. My son comes home from his grandmother's early and I decide I am still really tired so thought I would doze for a few while he watched his cartoons next to me. So I doze off and feel myself phasing and I find myself in the vast long tunnel. It was red, blue, and yellow and was made up of the fractals. They were all these small triangles and when I focused on them all they started to twist like I was in a portal being sucked in. So I'm flying through this tunnel and changed directions a few different times because it would span off, and at the end of my vision I see an outline of a circle and I feel like I'm being sucked in. Then I lost awareness because my son kept nudging me but it felt like I could feel myself in the bed and the tunnel at the same time. At one point I open my eyes and felt like my arm was pinned at my side but then realized my arm was bent so my head could rest on it but I couldn't feel it. So now I know what SP really feels like. I kept phasing in and out and felt like I couldn't move easily. I tried to strengthen my awareness and project myself into RTZ in my bedroom. I started seeing my bedroom around me but it slowly faded then I finally woke up. I might now have had such a vivid experience if my son hadn't kept waking me up because while I was having an OBE I remembered that I have done this so many times before in the morning but lost memory of it. Well there you go. Anyone ever experience a tunnel? I'm excited to be making progress with my awareness.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Are you happy?
December 11, 2012, 13:53:21
No one is disregarding that everyone has ups and downs or life. I believe the question meant are we generally happy with our lives and what we find happiness in, not if we have positive emotions every second of the day. That would be impossible unless we were all robots.

Very very happy with my life. I have a three year old that brings me so much joy and has taught me not to take life for granite. I like my job: I work at a pizzeria as the kitchen manager. It's really hard and I break my back working overtime every week but I love the restaurant business and  I want to fulfill my dream of moving to Portland, OR and finishing my degree in culinary management. There are so many wonderful things to experience in life. I am excited for my future and all the new places I will get to see but I am also content with just doing what I am doing now.

I also love thunderstorms...except when you're on the ocean. Then it can be a bit dangerous.

I live in Connecticut currently, but have been feeling an urge to move back south to warmer weather. I grew up in Miami, FL, so the ocean and the beach and the palm trees are in my blood.

O geez it must be freezing there right now. I live in Utah where it is usually cold (but not this year), and I also miss the south. I grew up in Texas but might try a new southern state when I do decide to move back down south. Florida is on my list to visit.

It was your astral body that was levitating. When you became startled by this you shot back into your body and woke up. You were successful, you just didn't know it.

Very true, some people are more receptive to it even if they do not want to be. I wish sometimes that i was not so receptive. For instance, I have a spirit that dwells near the woman's bathroom at the restaurant I work at and I am often alone there when little weird things start happening. I try to send out a will not to show themselves to me, and so far it has worked. I do not know why I'm scared I just do not feel like being bothered with that can of worms. My mother is worse off then me. She attract entities, good and bad, and they follow her home and pester her husband and her. I think the first step is training yourself to trust your intuition. Then you start becoming aware of things that are going on around you whether you can see them with the naked eye or not.

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Controlling Lucid Dreams
December 07, 2012, 15:08:10
Maybe you misunderstood me. I was suggesting what it would be like if we did completely create our dream reality, and how things would be drastically different if we never had a story line given to us. Maybe we do create all of it but if that is the case it is never completely conscious. We might not fully create our dreams but we definitely play a role in how things span out. Also when we AP we might be choosing our journeys but sometimes it feels like they choose us and we didn't have much say in it. I was only pondering.

It's not going to do all the work for you though. What it will do is take you 100% away from your physical focus. What you do when that happens is still up to you. It's just a shortcut for part of the process.

But the sensations it creates are hard to put into words!  :-)

No I totally understand that, and honestly I want to improve my phasing before even purchasing one of these. I have phased a few times before but It's not like I can do it on a weekly basis. It's something I'm working on and have every belief I will get there, and then after I improve I will then feel comfortable purchasing something like this.

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Controlling Lucid Dreams

It's fun to be in control and manipulate your surroundings, but honestly I don't think we were meant to do this every time. What if all of our dreams were like this, and no story line ever played out? Our dreams teach us something about our reality and help us solve difficult life problems. Lion heart is right about how we can control our actions but not the actions of others, and there is obvious more then one reason for that. How boring dreams would be if we were the ones who had to make the effort to will everything while we went along.
