Messages - embrace

I just found this short video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NwKkbd2e-c) in which famous skeptic James Randy talks about his own Out of the body experience. The video is pretty interesting, because Randy admits that it actually happened to him, but his interpretation remains skeptic. He claims that many details of the surroundings while out of body did not reflect the reality. I must say it happened to me many times, too. There are other times though, in which I was sure I saw the reality just as it is. But it made me wonder: what if he's right and the times I thought I saw the real thing was a dream, too? Perhaps there were differences between what I saw while out of body and reality, but I just didn't realize it?

What do you think?

Hello,

The recent events (mass shooting in Colorado) made me wonder: is this really an accident? So much work has gone into producing the Dark Night series - an exciting, but violent and tragic movie. Can it be that thousands of people involved into the movie production actually attracted such a tragedy at the opening night?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I had a bizarre experience this morning. I woke up and started my day as usual. But very soon I realized that I was still in a dream (reality tests work!). I came back to bed, closed my eyes (never happens in a dream, huh?) and began feeling vibrations. Soon enough I was astral projecting within a dream, which was within a dream. Reminds me of Inception or something!

The question is: was the astral projection just a part of the dream, or should I suppose it was the real thing? It felt real...I don't know what to think about that.

Thanks for your feedback!

Dear friends,

I thought I'd share with you these, so you stay healthy this summer!

I always contribute in healthy ways to my body.
I am living a long and healthy Life.
I eat healthy, nutritious and digestible food every day.
I drink large amounts of thirst quenching water every day.
I have a healthy spirit, mind and body.
I have a healthy heart and a strong set of lungs.
God has healed my body and in return, I will forever praise His name.
My strong body has fully recovered and healed.
I am miraculously cured by the touch of God's Divine Hand.

Hi all,

I'm not implying all angels / guides are made up, but sometimes it seems that people do make those up to feel more secure. I believe I myself did make myself believe that I was contacting my guide in dreams, but now I doubt it was true - it was a difficult period of my life when I felt lonely and I really needed to feel some sort of support.

Any thoughts?

Can there be time distortions while astral projecting by practicing? Things like where 1 minute in the astral world equals only 1 minute physical or fraction there of? According to I think it was einsteins theory time is an illusion or relative correct? Can you stay in the astral world for 10 days or a time equalling 10days and have it only count as a few minutes or hours in the physical world trough practice? Also seperate subject... can you see the results of decisions like if you choose the blue wire this will most likely happen and if you choose the red wire this will most likely happen?

THANK YOU

I have pondered the question of how O.B.E. would best be approached to increase understanding of it. Up until now this question for me has been whether O.B.E. can be separated from spirituality or not.

I cannot see how it can be and would ultimately say no, but I know a lot of people would say yes, so basically I would like to know why.

Note, for a clearer definition of spirituality I am talking about the unconsciousness that the Astral seems to be, and going by general ideas that the unconsciousness cannot become illuminated without commonly named 'spiritual' tools (ie . love, acceptance, open-mindedness). Those attributes seem to 'unlock' the unconsciousness, hence the Astral, hence allow O.B.E.

Is it possible to arrive at a different conclusion and to state O.B.E. has nothing to do with spirituality at all? This is mainly a question for those who would say yes.

Welcome to Dreams! / Dream significance
May 13, 2012, 11:01:59
I was wondering as to your perceptions on dreams and their significance. I hold that there are different kinds of dreams, some more symbolic, others merely nonsensical. I believe that many dreams serve as a form of mental and/or spiritual training. One view is that they could be messages from the higher self. I have personally woken from dreams a different person, feeling as though I have been gone for months, and lived intense experiences during that time.

Another aspect that I find fascinating is precognative dreams. Again, varying from symbolic representations of events to exact scene-for-scene preplays of things to come. Any thoughts as to the nature of these?

Personally, the line between dreaming and astral experiences blurs a bit for me, and I have a tendancy to shift between the two, sometimes recalling memories from both in the same night. This is something I have been working on.

I realize that I am jumping around the map a bit, but please, if anything I have said spurs a response, throw it out there.

QuoteWe can't really generalize based on our own experiences
Thank you for all your replies, it's very interesting to read what you think. I came to the conclusion that there's so much controversial and contradictory information on OOBE on the internet that there's simply no way to believe all of them. I have read some ridiculous stuff, so I've decided that I will develop my understanding basing on my experience.

Just to clarify - I'm not saying that my way is the only way. I'm saying, that my way is the only way according to me. All I did was just share my way, with a hope it would be helpful for some people.

Out of the curiosity, how do you know you don't have a sleep paralysis when you astral project? Can you have a projection and move your body at the same time?
#60
Thank you for your feedback, everybody :) As I pointed out earlier, I've written my post being based on my own experiences only. Of course, being an OOBE-maniac, I'm familiar with a number of different contradicting theories and views. It's interesting to read that sleep paralysis is not how some of you do it.

QuoteSo to clarify, you can still fully move your body if you want in what embrace is talking about.
I realize that sleep paralysis has some negative connotations, but actually I did mean exactly that: when I'm about to have an OOBE, I wouldn't be able to move my body even if I try hard. It takes a while to get out of sleep paralysis if this is my goal. Can even take 10 minutes before I can move a finger. So yeah - that was exactly my point.

As for vibrations, I don't see them as a necessary part of the whole process.

In any case, thank you for listening!

Very good information here. I agree with it 100%.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!

I thought I share a little bit of my experience with OOBE. It's been about 10 years since I've been practicing it and I've learnt a lot during that time. So here's what I've learnt based on my experience.

Usually people who are only starting have difficulties with having their very first Astral experience because they fail to understand the necessary condition which needs to be fulfilled no matter what technique is being used. What I'm talking about is sleep paralysis; it's not emphasized enough that it is the Astral Traveler's "must have." The techniques you might have read about elsewhere can be effective only AFTER you have achieved a conscious sleep paralysis. Let me make it clear: being simply relaxed is not enough! Sleep paralysis is when you can't to move the parts of your body, even if you try. If you get to sleep paralysis, you have some good chances to turn it to an out of the body experience. If you don't, you shouldn't bother trying any techniques, because they won't work. Out of the body experience consists in separating your consciousness from the physical body, and it can only be accomplished when your body is not awake. I know of a variety of opinions on this. Some  "gurus" argue that sleep paralysis has no importance in masteric OOBE. I even found a book in which the author says that one can achieve an out of the body experience when driving a vehicle. However, there is a big difference between personal experience and information that cannot be verified. I decided to choose not to believe a statement that cannot be replicated by my own efforts. thus, I think that it is absolutely necessary to have sleep paralysis to achieve an out of the body experience.

Before we get to OOBE, I'm going to talk a little bit about entering sleep paralysis. That's way harder thing than having an OOBE itself. First of all, it is very unlikely to end up having a conscious sleep paralysis at night, when you go to sleep. Just to make it clear, as we fall asleep, we do enter the sleep paralysis state, but normally our mind falls asleep before it happens. The easiest method to achieve sleep paralysis is get out of bed very early in the morning and remain awake for a while, and then return to sleep. I found that it is most effective to combine 4 h of sleep and one hour of being awake. When awaken, you should not remain in bed. Try to keep your mind busy; it's good to read a newspaper or watch tv. Even better idea would be to read your Astral Projection journal (given you have one), or read an article about OOBE (to communicate with the subconscious mind). When you return to bed, try to fall asleep as you normally do. It will take some time to start feeling sleepy again. If you did everything as described, you shoud have about 85% chance of staying aware of the whole process when your body falls into a sleep paralysis. It might take from fifteen minutes to one h; make sure you are patient and try to remain still. When you notice loud noises inside of your head and vibrations in your your body, it means that you probably are in a sleep paralysis. This is the moment you should try one of OOBE methods.

Probably you have heard many techniques so far. Most of them would work when used in sleep paralysis. The method that I believe is the best is to imagine any movement of your body. Sometimes I imagine myself running very fast. This makes me feel this bizarre pressure inside of my body, which makes the vibrations stronger and ultimately results in Astral Projection. You should try many different techniques yourself to discover what method works better for you. In fact, any visualization of the physical movement will work. Just make sure youJust remember to stay calm and have fun with this wonderful experience.

You will succeed!

Dear people,

This question of mine has remained unanswered for years. Perhaps somebody on this forum would be able to give me some feedback? So far I haven't met anybody who even knows what I'm talking about. So, here it is:

Sometimes, when in trans, I start to visualize things. And whatever I see/feel in my mind, has a weird feeling of abnormal size/proportion. For example, if I visualize my hand holding a pen, it feels as if my hand was gigantic and the pen was tiny, or the other way around. This bizarre proportion-sensation tends to grow and whatever I visualize, it becomes either giant or small. Unless I open my eyes, the sensation remains and at some point gets too weird to continue.

I know the description probably doesn't make any sense...But I trust that if anybody around here has ever experienced anything similar, it probably would make sense. So...any comments?

I noticed that people tend to trust books. I wouldn't, when it comes to books on Astral Projection. The topic isn't new, but hasn't been researched enough in a scientific way. Just about anyone can write a book. To me, an instant projection sounds like a great sell speech, because many people have a hard time learning OOBE and many would pay a lot of money to experience it RIGHT NOW, IMMEDIATELY. I think by saying this, the author shows a complete lack of competence in the subject - but that's only my opinion, based on my experience. I might be wrong, but I have nothing else to base my opinion on - just my experience.
#65
Some members here might disagree, but FROM MY EXPERIENCE I can tell that this is pretty much the only way to achieve OOBE (sleep paralysis + any visualization of motion). I've never had an OOBE without/before achieving sleep paralysis. Once I have the paralysis, it's very easy to exit - and funny you mention the rope - that's what I use most of the times. So far I have around 40 OOBE's written down, and almost all of them came as a result of what you described.

Another question is...how do you achieve a sleep paralysis? It's tricky :)
#66
QuoteWe don't *EVER* have "OBEs".  We never go "out" of body, because we're never "in" these bodies to begin with, we're simply focused towards them.

Xanth, I think the same way of it.
#67
Wow, this is a cool story. Who knows, maybe you really did travel back in time - everything's possible.
#68
I remember my OOBE in which I passed through the window. It was a very interesting feeling - I remember I could feel the structure/texture/temperature of the glass. It felt very physical, cold.
#69
Sounds ridiculous to me...But...actually, who knows? If anybody got killed in OOBE, there would be no way to report this, hence there is no way of knowing this for sure :)
#70
Perhaps you're not deep in trance yet. Relax more....?
#71
Practicing at night is much harder. Try in the early morning instead, when you're well rested!
#73
Totally. Mastering astral projection can take a lot of time, because in our society we usually don't have the skills required to achieve OOBE fast and we need to develop those first. Patience and regular practice is the key.
#74
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Stress often has to do with not being sure what we're stressed out about and writing it down helps.
#75
Talking to yourself can turn into talking to your subconscious mind, and that's pretty valuable skill!
