usually you listen to the cd once, the binaural sound that brings the brain down to 7 or so hz in the theta/alpha range still lingers for atleast a half hour after listening to the cd so you can still attempt to do body awareness or even recall the body relaxing commands.  Also the more times you listen to the cd the more vibrations in future sessions it will produce since the mind is getting more and more used to the commands and the binaural sound.

some techniques you can try when you feel you are out but cant see just walk away from the bed as far as you can if you still can't see just pretend you are wiping dirt from your eyes.  You can claim i can see now or clarity now if all else fails someone mentioned you can also use the conjurations to be able to see (available at mysticweb.org astral course conjurations towards neg entities).

so #1 sort of extends on robert's book, #2 is amazing on the techniques you can use the probability of them happening are given and #3 is really good if you don't know what ego's/awareness is give you more of an edge on ap's if you haven't had one yet actually #2 and #3 will give you an edge.  #4 is interesting to read.

its not mentioned in the books except for maybe the astral course book and that is practice awareness.  Just do this next time you have a lucid dream (after trying say that 5hour technique) just stare at one object observing it, knowing its fake then all of a sudden the dream will shutdown you will see through closed eyelids then just slowly crawl out of bed then turn around and look at the bed and you will see yourself on the bed then you even know your in your dream/astral body.  

as for person who can't order the books like others mentioned get the ISBN number and go to your local bookstore/barnes and noble and preorder it.

it could be a projection of the mind, goto mysticweb.org signup for astral course they explain it there that if you do awareness during the day you will have less proejction from the mind and the more real the ap will look.  Some items can be really there but then if the dream/daydream thing kicks in it starts putting things that are not there.  It could also be a symbol of some sort as well sometimes placed as that.

most important thing is to be aware and keep your awareness then you can do anything and break out of dreams.  once you know you are dreaming all you do is start observing the things around ie the texture/colour etc.. knowing it's fake eventually what will happen everything will disappear/shutdown and you will see through your closed eyelids and just slowly walk out and you will be out, now maintaining awareness so you don't fall back to another dream or wakeup thats something else you have to work on by being aware all day that helps it carries onto sleep.

the only two techniques to practice on to make the ap's within lucid dreams last long is practicing awareness during the day and the candle technique (looking into the candle and then after minute or so look at the afterimage better you get the longer the afterimage stays).  I notice my ap's within lucid dreams don't last long because of this, sometimes that spinning technique works I bet it could work more times if i practice those other exercises though because my ap within a dream lasts 30seconds even though i have my awareness it blacks out because of my concentration or mind having a mind of its own at that moment not responding but the spin technique did work one time just imagine spinning ie hands out like a T then spin clockwise as fast as you can for seconds while imagining or knowing last spot you were at then let go then lie still and hope it breaks back in again, it's like a reset button in the brain.

this is if you can't ap but you can easily ap within dreams.  this method works 50% of the time.  Some say to sleep 8 hours then wakeup but personally I am too wide awake, the least sleep to get is atleast 5hours then wakeup wash your face, stay alert for 30mins to an hour (wake up your mind so to speak) then afterwards drop back down to sleep while being alert ie you can do breath awareness and look at the dream images, soon as the images form into a dream snap your awareness into place start starring/observing the objects but don't participate in them cause you know its all fake then all of a sudden it should shut down and you should be in your bed looking through your closed eyelids then SLOWLY crawl out don't force cause it won't work, if it tries to slip back into a dream again and you didn't get out do same procedure ie stare/observe at objects again til it shuts down.  Now if you want your ap's to last longer you have to practice awareness all day so you are aware when you sleep, mysticweb.org describes it well they offer free courses in ap.

I agree with frank, you want to eliminate the projection of the mind you have to eliminate those ego's and thoughts to have better ap's only way to do it is by staying during the daytime in a alertness state, like being wide awake and alert of your 5 senses, not let yourself get engulfed in anything you do and not daydream and also not to think and if you do come back to awareness/alertness, if you still have trouble understanding you can enrol at mysticweb.org they have free courses on it.  I also notice what helped you succeed is the same technique I use which is you didn't sleep much only partially and kept yourself awake throughout the day.  They have said lucidity.com faq that you have more than 50% chance of being lucid in dreams by going to sleep for say 5hours wakeup stay awake for atleast 30mins to an hour wash your face etc. then drop back to sleep.  What I did for example yesterday is that technique only I didn't keep my awareness as much high, so I can fall asleep more faster, as soon as the dream images started to kick in I switched to awareness/alert mode like as if you were sleeping all of a sudden you force yourself to wakeup like an alarm clock going off, what happened is I started to pay attention to the images being in a wakeful mode then I said this is all fake in back of my head all of a sudden dream disappeared and i was in my room looking through my closed eyes, I tried to move out slowly couldn't was then sucked back in a dream again I then i snapped back my awareness thing again was back in my bedroom and got out.

the nice thing about the rope technique if you ever try astral projecting during lucid state ie sleep 5hours wakeup for an hour then go back to sleep and then keep your mind alert like I am completely awake not daydreaming or engulfed in anything but I let go of it so i can drift to sleep, soon as I notice dream images forming I immediately snap back into full awareness/alertness start starring at the objects/persons knowing in the back of my head this is a dream and all of a sudden the dream scene fades away and I am in my bed looking throughout my closed eyelids, this is when I try to get out of my body, I slowly imagine how it is to getup and move out.  It was interesting yesterday for example I tried it I couldn't get out then all of a sudden I was snapped back into a dream scene again then I snapped back into my awareness/alertness and again the dream dissipitated and I got out finally.  When I initially tried getting out of my body sometimes I would come out but still be partially stuck so the rope technique did help to break loose.

god works in mysterious ways, keep praying for him and like others say show his love and support.  it would be interesting to find out how he got into alcolism in the first place what was it that got him there, there had to be some emotion of some sort maybe he has to deal with first.  what is sad a lot of alcoholics may go to jail and stuff for fights and stuff for 6months or so but during that time they don't drink but because they dwell on thoughts of how it feels to drink when they go out thats the first thing they think of doing and they go and do it (was said in a psychology book).

they're less I ain't doing anymore body awareness/hemi sync til it subsides completely.  I have been doing robert bruce's body awareness like you mentioned full circuit from feet upto the head then from head to subnaval still the head is active somehow and the hemisync just amplifies it a thousand fold or something regardless if I do body awareness exercises or not the brain gets super sensitive then when say I do sex ie blood starts rushing around the body faster as the heart beats faster I start to get the pains but they are less now for now I am just doing what I said I will do which can help one achieve obe since whats the sense of ob'ing if it's a projection of the mind (false obe?) you still have to work on concentration/eliminating ego's and awareness exercises anyways, anyone can pull off an obe by doing the 5-6hour technique mind 50% of the time stays awake and alert while body false off to sleep.

From my experience I had to discontinue using hemi sync/wave 1 and even the NEW system (combined) from robert bruce because it was causing head pains when I do body awareness exercises and when I have sex (too much energy to the head causing pain) results may vary in others.  The only three things I am going to do which everyone agrees upon is to do the staring at objects and close the eyes technique and retain the image, being consciously aware of what you're doing all day and eliminating the ego's, commanding body parts to relax and doing the 5-6 hour technique ie wakeup after 5hours wash your face, then after 30mins go back to sleep for next few hours (I got many results with this), you can checkout mysticweb.org they have free courses on astral projection/esoteric/self knowledge courses they explained the ego thing in detail and made me understand what is the projection of the mind (ie dreams) and true obe's and can't wait for the other lessons that explain how to abolish ego's they explain the 5-6hour technique there as well so does stephen laberge at lucidity.com (read the faq).

it has been affecting my sexual energy this NEW.  I have been doing awhile for a year but there are other factors to take into consideration I was using hemisync for a couple of months that also was creating head pains when doing anything sexual so I discontinued it and the pain went away on its own.  Now I was aggressively on NEW spending quite some time on it and started to feel the pains in my head again so I stopped yesterday and it looks like the pain is now subsiding, this is when I do a full body circuit ie feet to the back/head then head to front to sub naval.  I'm wondering like you said only stimulate only parts of your body and do not do full body circuits yet til the channel of energy is opened in those areas?

that would be freaky, imagine you are getting two inputs from the internal world and the external world at the same time you can do some serious stuff for example they say if you astral project see a person etc you may see dreams/symbols of whats going on with that person so imagine if you can lucid dream while awake you can sort of see peoples futures and stuff in a weird way.  only time what you described happened to me is when i was afraid in a dream and wokeup and still felt it til it subsided, but it can happen though after 5 minutes things stabilize come back to normal so its pretty touch to remain lucid while awake in the physical world.

i've been trying the binaural sounds for a month and a bit with the gateway series, I had to stop because it appears it creates too much energy in my head area if I have sex/masturbate I start feeling sharp pains in my head, however if I stop listening to the hemisync cd's after a week or so it disappears so it looks like I can't use the tapes as often as I want to but I do get a physical reaction to it though even if i afterwards do it on my own.

I can suggest two other things you can do.  You can try the course at www.mysticweb.org it's totally free they will answer your questions as well, what it boils down to is awareness.  If you are aware in the physical then you will become aware in the astral/lucid dream state its simple as that.  So far the best technique to try just to get a taste of the astral/lucid/dreambody mode is the mild technique go to sleep 5-6hours wakeup wash your face stay awake for an hour then go back to sleep chances are you will wakeup while asleep (50% chance).  Now if you want to decrease the anomalies be more to the realtime zone you have to practice the 2nd technique which is to be aware of what you are doing all day and not think too much/daydream and concentrate on one thing at one time for example washing dishes you concentrate on it how it looks, feels,smells,hears also how you are feeling inwards at the sametime not let yourself daydream. (self-observation)  Now the 3rd technique is look at a candle/concentrate on it and then close your eyes and visualize the image in your minds eye.  An awesome book that describes many techniques is Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen Laberge have to admit it's very THOROUGHLY written from a ph.d in lucid dreaming/psychology at stanford university who is currently researching this stuff, there is stuff in there I have yet to hear anyone talk about yet he describes why and how they work, worth the money in buying it.

yes the WBTB (go to sleep 5-6hours wakeup fully wash your face, stay awake for 30mins ie read/watch tv etc.. then drop back to sleep while doing meditation) works 55% of the time it's researched by the lucidity institute lucidity.com stephen laberge has a good faq written there about it also he wrote a book exploring the world of lucid dreaming good book to get.  Another thing I am working on which experienced astral projectors are doing or have done in the past is awareness exercises.  The 5-6hour techniques does work but your awareness is not that high so you can't do much except go beyond your backyard of your house and still have projection of the mind/dream images.  Now to avoid this you have to be self-observant aware, mysticweb.org has good courses that explain this, someone posted some of the material from the mysticweb.org website at http://www.geocities.com/ston_mkd/astral_projection.htm select self-observation.  If we eliminate the ego's and be in the now (ie tend not to be in the future/past but in the now and be alert in the now then when you go to sleep you will be in the now and no projection of the mind occurs.

Leyla: not true, when my grandmom passed away a week later she tried to communicate with my mom early in the morning through lucid dream (door slamming), she got scared woke up, I saw same dream door slamming, got a tape recorder (symbolic of listening) and then spoke with her a little bit since she had the desire to speak with us before she moved onto the next plane.  There are also souls I like to call who are in purgatory near the physical plane that have to hang around cleanse their mind/thoughts til they can move on.  Then you also have the angelic spirits etc.. when you pray to God or Angels etc... that come to visit.  So not all spirits are demonic, depends on their character.  But its true many neg spirits would hide their nature.

As for the person who said the spirit wasn't there, you could try doing that sleep deprivation/interruption thing again at a time when it usually is around, if you want to enhance it more sleep 5-6hours then stay awake the entire day instead of interrupting sleep for 30mins, makes it even more stronger.  I noticed there are ghosts that can follow a person from house to house but its really odd for it to intefere with the physical world though, maybe you could research who owned the house prior to moving in to see if nothing bad had happpened to someone in that house.

lets see the logic here on both sides and previous wars like yugoslavia/milochevich.  First thing they do is try and kill the leader this way the war ends immediately no casualties like they did with milochevich (ie bomb his mansion lucky he survived though).  Second scenario is if iraqi people fight you have to get them to surrender so you have to show to them how powerful you are so if they see them bombing military areas etc.. then if they see they have no chance to win then they will surrender.  Now the worst case is nobody surrenders, in that case one by one will die til they get to saddam hussein.  We all hope in any war it ends quickly and that the people surrender then very few will get killed.

you're right about the deprivation thing it's actually a technique to lucid dream and/or obe, what most would do is sleep 5-6hours then wakeup wideawake wash your face for 30mins then go onto the exercise as you are at the threshold of sleep but more aware.  Other variation I did once and managed a conscious obe is to sleep 5-6hours then stay awake the entire day then at night go and do the body awareness I happened to obe once like that, but for the 30mins method not yet but had dreambody ap's atleast 50% of the time.

have to agree there too if you have gotten some control over hypnagogic images you're one step close to CONSCIOUS obe or atleast astral projection (ie obe from a dream state).  What is annoying is you don't remember what sucked you into your dreamstate if you fail at the hypnagogic imagery so you can take notice next time what to do to improve it.  I guess that is probably another thing one has to master if they want to be able to obe consciously cause most people would just fall asleep.  I'm also getting the impression that people can only pull off a few obe's or astral projections per day because I can pull them off mostly from the lucid dream state but it's mixed with dream imagery but even so I can only do it at most one to two times in a day cause you just get too tired and aren't alert/focused anymore and just want to fall asleep.  I would love to know how to bypass the hypnagogic state get even deeper which is the conscious obe state, I pulled it off only once where I did not have no hypnagogic's whatsoever it just happened spontaenously when my body was a bit tired and mind still alert.  Oh well practice makes perfect I guess.

basically as you drift to sleep mentally have a song running in your mind and keep on focusing on it only while watching the images and don't let any other verbal thought enter your mind towards the hypnagogic images as you just see them only, if you see you are messing up the song then start doing some checks(ie body heaviness/vibrations/physical body perception if you feel them then try to walk out of your body) then go back to recounting again if you don't feel the checks.  Interesting technique I'll probably give it a shot especially when falling asleep (let alone the 5hour sleep wakeup 30min then try technique).  There are some other interesting techniques if you wake up in a lucid dream and have a fake obe (dreambody) and want the dreambody to be more alert instead of partially alert its described there as well.  I'd have to give this person the credit for the techniques cause I have yet to see anyone else talk about them.
